I'm passing this on because it worked for me today. A doctor on TV said to enjoy inner peace we should try to finish things we start - we could all use more calm in our lives. I looked around my house to find things I'd started and hadn't finished, so I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiuminum scriptins, an a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how fablus I feel rite now. Sned this to all who need inner piss. An telum u luvum. Mary Quismus and Happie Nu Yer.

I'm not really sure how I would know if a provider was high volume or low volume. The only sense it in which it matters is if it affects the level/quality of service I receive. If a high volume provider becomes a "clock watcher", or rushes clients out the door, doesn't have enough time between clients to put the time and attention into preparation for appointments, or is too tired to put much effort into the appointment, then it matters to me. These really aren't necessarily issues of being "high" or "low" volume ... it really relates more to how the provider approaches the business. I have a preferance for quality encounters. Porthos

Having a regular client from Ottawa that I haven't seen in ages be understanding that I am really stress about my move in two days and would rather cancel. He still offer to drop wine and cheese (some people know me too well) then offer me a ride to drop off some boxes and bins to my new location! It make my heart warm that some people care for me and like me as a person and more than only the "BJ" <3

My apologies scribbles, I didn't mean to call you out in any way, and on second reading, my post looks especially bitchy on that topic. I withdraw the comment, and wish to rewrite it this way: one of the primary pieces of evidence put forth during the hearings is that Grandma's House, a place where street-based sex workers were permitted to bring clients during the height of the Pickton emergency, was shut down by VPD as a bawdy house. Alan Young successfully argued that the enforcement of this law compromised the safety of sex workers, and that piece of evidence, perhaps more than any other (in Young's opinion) was what convinced the court of the unconstitutionality of the three laws. At any rate, I think we can all agree that decriminalization itself is a noble goal; it's the political BS that comes afterwards (let's call it "recriminalization" for lack of a better word) that's the real problem. The first is a legal issue, whereas the second is a political issue. Shame they're so closely conflated on what consenting adults are permitted to do in private.

And a lady advertising her availability as (hypothetically speaking here) 10am to 10pm Monday to Saturday doesn't mean she is seeing clients 12 hours a day 6 days a week, just that those are her hours of availability, that's all. RG
  6. 3 points
Also, let's not forget that if a provider says she's "busy" she may not actually be seeing clients, but having her own life, not in the mood, or maybe she hates you (lol).

My heart goes out to you. I've spent more than a few Christmas' in hospital watching over an ailing parent. My mom passed away several years ago and I feel it most at this time of year. As for teeth, I've broken two in the past 12 months. They are damned expensive things to get fixed. I often wonder why dental care is not covered under universal healthcare. Hang in there Jafo, things are bound to pick up in 2014. Till then know that your virtual family here at CERB has your back.

Well, mom made it through Christmas, even tough she spent it in the hospital. (She is battling cancer for the 3rd time in her life). She is no longer able to care for herself. She has been talking about wanting to die. :icon_cry: I have health and other problems of my own. So I can not be there for my mother. (She is in Kitchener and I am in Ottawa). I broke a tooth this morning eating a bagel. I have no insurance or money to have it fixed. What else can possibly go wrong:!:

25% of my dates are booked in advance so for me the 75% are last minute booty call. I will look here on Cerb and book with who ever is of my liking and available, I have been fortunate to get good dates with Cerb ladies. I would prefer low volume ladies then high volume simply because like said before you feel like the only man in the world to her and not being rushed out for her next appointment.

Ha...Are you telling me the lady I see most actually sees other guys?? She makes me feel like I am the only guy on earth she is interested in. So...the answer for me is it isn't a factor.

Cats are always around, even when you don't see them often! Look for the sunniest spot in the house and there she'll be, soaking up the rays and watching you to see if you are going to come and give her a scratch. ;) My email is always active and answered! smiles, cat p.s. Having met SPJ, I'd for her as well! WOW, what a delicious ball of angora!!!

Gentleman with all due I firmly believe that donations play a large part in some of your decisions. There is not at all a thing wrong with that . However if I may be permitted to speak the people that wish to listen cool . Some will never agree but its my opinion some gents that seek a lower donation are ( as a rule ) disappointed and let down , perhaps even a bit cheated . My wonderful gents of this board , please do your homework, we do and if you read about and study our profile I am sure you will not be disappointed OR led on .We don't do this, A rule but Id love to have morning fun which is the best ! Get ready to make me happy .....

You could also message someone you are interested in seeing and ask if they'd be available for a certain time. I know that personally, I don't book last-minute late at night (more often then not, these individuals are intoxicated), but I have had individuals who work late contact me and explain their situation, and we've worked something out.

Re: Timing - the challenge was actually launched in 2007, at a time of considerable instability in federal politics. The prospect of a Conservative majority was quite unlikely at the time, but more importantly, there was now a wealth of solid empirical evidence showing the damaging nature of the laws that had not existed during the SCC Reference in 1990. Even Bertha Wilson said that, if they knew what they knew in 2007 back in 1990, the SCC's decision would have been very different (she won't be found being quoted as such, that's just something Alan Young told me in passing when we were in the CBC Green Room together). The internet actually played a big role in this, by showing very clearly how much safer sex work could be when conducted exclusively indoors. The idea of leaving the "status quo" in place pretty much evaporated when the full extent of Robert Pickton's murders was realized. If you disagree, then please, feel free to tell the families of the murdered girls that we should have left well enough alone. Re: Standing - it's valuable to note that a concurrent challenge in BC was underway when this all began, with the same general arguments (as well as a S.15 challenge on the basis of equality, which the Ontario Case did not argue). It was launched by the DTES with Sheri Kiselbach and SWUAV as the applicants, and represented by Katrina Pacey & PIVOT Legal. Because none of the applicants identified as active sex workers, the government challenged whether they had standing. It worked its way up through the courts, and in a lesser-known-but-still-important ruling, the SCC held (also in a 9-0 unanimous decision, in September 2012) that they indeed had public interest standing, and allowed the challenge in BC to proceed. By then, the Ontario case was already going to be heard by the SCC, so it was more of a moral victory than anything else, but the SCC's ruling will likely serve as a precedent should further legal action be taken. This makes the standing issue relatively moot; any challenge to a potential Nordic Approach law will argue that it makes screening clients difficult, which the SCC cited as one of the reasons it struck down the S.213© Communicating Law; a similar challenge, launched by sex workers, is unlikely to run into the same problems as the BC challenge because of these recent precedents. As an aside, even though the case is called "Bedford et al" because alphabetically, Terri-Jean Bedford comes first, Amy Lebovich is the only reason that private standing was granted, because Valerie Scott & TJB were retired when the challenge was launched. She's the only woman in Canada who has been recognized by the court as an active sex worker; without her, this case would fallen years behind, just as the Vancouver challenge did. Despite being the least-visible member of the three applicants, Amy is perhaps the most important sex worker in Canada; we should thank her for what she did for our cause. Re: strip clubs/swinger's clubs/etc - my point was not to examine what the courts have ruled on these sorts of clubs in the past, my point was how a law criminalizing purchase of "sexual services" will inherently be poorly defined, without an explicit discussion of what is or is not a "sexual services". Past precedent is somewhat irrelevant because those precedents were themselves based on laws that have since been struck down; R v Kouri explicitly stated that swinger's clubs were ok because they weren't bawdy houses, but now bawdy houses are legal. Does that mean swingers can legally accept money/dinner/drinks for sex, but men aren't allowed to buy a lady at a swinger's club a drink if he wants to have sex with her (assuming a Nordic Approach law is passed)? Courts don't like ambiguity, and they'll throw out a law that isn't well-defined, which means that Stephen Harper et al will be forced to explicitly tell us what is or is not considered "sex". It's a much bigger minefield for them to walk than it was for Bill Clinton and his definition of "sexual relations" and one has to wonder what impact such a law might have on the filming and distribution of pornography. It's a no-win situation for them to even start having the conversation, so they'll stay as far away from it as possible.

I had the pleasure of spending some quality time with Colette recently. I feel like I hit the jackpot in meeting her. Brand new to the business, she is a diamond in the rough... all natural, absolutely stunning girl next door, articulate, sensual, erotic, are just some of the words I would use to describe her... the session flowed so naturally and smoothly that I felt like I was back with my ex-girlfriend again... time just melted away as I held her in my arms. It was definitely one of the most memorable sessions I've had in awhile. I'm already counting the days until I can book her again! I'm hoping Colette stays in the industry for awhile, because she has become my SP of choice for the foreseeable future - thanks again for a wonderful evening. :) Treat her with respect, guys - you'll be handsomely rewarded!

For myself, arranging an encounter is a rare treat (I guess that makes me a low-volume client? Does that make me more appealing? :icon_wink:). Because of this, I tend to have to be really interested and intrigued in a lady before I'll book with her. It also means I tend to make arrangements in advance and am able to be patient when it comes to availability. Even if I was able to partake more often, I'd still prefer to plan ahead, as the anticipation is part of the fun. Basically, for me it's all about the lady and if there is one I really want to meet, I'm more than willing to wait and arrange my schedule around her's if that is what it takes.

I may be different from the majority. Many of the ladies I see regularly must remind me where they are located because I employ a self imposed amnesia when it comes to the hobby. Oh, I remember the details of the encounter well enough, I just forget where it happened. I suspect there is a part of my brain the equates forgetfulness with discretion. To the ladies I've been with and wonder why I'm asking where they live even if I saw them last week I say, "You are memorable, your address...not so much".

Agree with RG, its not about the volume, its the connection for the best experience. Sometimes is can be a bit frustrating trying to schedule an appointment with a lady that has a limited schedule but if you have great session its so worth it. Conversely sometimes you can see a lady with a more open schedule and its not worth it, just no connection.

It's really not for me about high versus low volume. It's about the connection/chemistry the lady and I have. Or in the case of a first encounter, the connection I think we may have (based on the lady's posts, CERB profile, website) In terms of scheduling an encounter, high versus low volume isn't an issue for me anyway, as I need to plan my dates a few months ahead due to where I live. So it is just as easy for me to schedule a date with a companion who is low volume as one who is high volume A rambling RG

Just a couple of side notes.... the current Supreme Court of Canada is comprised of 9 judges. The politics of the court appear to be heavily weighted on the conservative side; 7 of the 9 current justices sitting on the Supreme Court of Canada were appointed by Conservative or Progressive Conservative Governments. Six judges (Nadon, Wagner, Karakatsanis, Moldaver, Cromwell and Rothstein) were appointed by our current Prime Minister. One judge (LeBel) was appointed by Chretien. One judge (Abella) was appointed by Martin. The Chief Justice, Beverly McLachlin, was appointed by Mulroney and ascended to the role of Chief Justice under Chretien. The current laws surrounding prostitution pre-date confederation. Prostitution in and of itself has NEVER been illegal in Canada. It has only been the laws surrounding prostitution that have evolved in the past 150 years. The solicitation (1972)/public communication (1985) laws replaced the vagrancy laws that existed since 1759. Brothels and pimping/living off the avails laws have been extant 1759 as well. There has been an appetite for prostitution in Canada for a very long time apparently. We have had the opportunity for the past 254 years to make the trade illegal, and NO government in the interim has made a move to change the status quo. I must also add that the current government has 22 months left in its mandate. An unpopular decision in the next 12 months will linger politically; the current climate sees that 56% of Canadians already believes that the current government has a poor performance rating and 73% of Canadians do not see good performance (very poor, somewhat poor and average combined). Just some political food for thought.

Just to clarify, especially for Nikki, my comments were not meant to suggest that the harms caused by the outgoing legislation weren't worth challenging. Without contextualizing it within a greater political issue, Robert Picton was a horror of enormous proportions on its own, and I don't think anyone here, especially myself, would suggest those murders were in any way justifiable or excusable. Don't assume that I was suggesting the status quo is best. I was merely noting that many who were begging for decriminalization before are worried that the victory before the SCC will be worse that the status quo was to begin with. Let's hope it isn't. It would be a waste of the progress made for human rights.

I suspect that others have already said this (the thread is tl;dr) but IMHO, the best solution would be no new laws at all, just as things remain with abortion after Morgentaler. FYI, the abortion ruling also happened during a conservative government (Mulroney's PCs) and also upset a great deal of the PC base, but we remain (fortunately) devoid of criminal laws regarding abortion. The parallels are quite similar; for example, it's illegal to practise medicine without a license, and infanticide is illegal. These two laws already preclude the most appalling sides of undesired pregnancy (back-alley abortions and babies in dumpsters) and the existing laws against coercion/exploitation (via the procuring law) and sex trafficking can be said to do the same. I'm not entirely convinced that new laws are needed, and I suspect the greater concern is exploitation and non-adult coercion, which the existing laws already address. We can ask the lawmakers to "double-down" on these laws, perhaps by increasing the upper range of sentencing options for particularly nasty offenders (as opposed to mandatory minimums, which usually suck) and increasing enforcement money to fund better police work. Then, leave it to the municipalities to license and regulate (which may well be worse for us, but it's outside the federal jurisdiction and therefore outside the scope of the national discussion). Oh, and guys? Don't sweat the Nordic Approach (can we PLEASE stop calling it a "model"?) too much. The governments that have implemented it are leftist governments who draw much of their support from middle-class women, whereas the existing Conservative government draws much of its support from white, straight, affluent men (and a surprising number of recent immigrants). Don't think for a minute that they're going to risk criminalizing half the MPs in parliament by outlawing the purchase of sexual services. They'll come after us before they go after you - they'll lump some sort of law into the trafficking legislation (calling it "providing material support to sex trafficking" or some such BS) and do everything short of criminalizing sex work itself. Besides, what happens to strip clubs, swinger's clubs, registered agencies (in the cities that already regulate them), phone sex operators, camshows, and all those other things if the purchase of "sexual services" is made illegal? The governement has to clearly define what constitutes sexual services in order to make it illegal to purchase said services; do you think Stephen Harper wants to get up in the House and explain exactly what he's criminalizing? Hell no, he's going to avoid this issue like the plague, draft some wishy-washy laws, cram them into an omnibus bill at the end of a parliamentary session, and pass it in the middle of the night when he thinks nobody's watching. That's precisely what he's done on previous issues, and it's exactly what he'll do this time as well. Of course it'll be illogical; of course it'll be unconstitutional; of course it'll be stupid and overly broad and unprosecutable. But they'll do it anyways, because it's the easiest way to avoid an extended debate on the issue and we'll be back in court in 5-10 years once again. The cops will sigh, the public will shrug, and the hookers will scream bloody murder - and the status quo of consenting adults doing whatever the hell we please in the privacy of our own bedrooms will continue undisturbed. The cycle continues...

It was not a Christmas memory in the strictest sense, but this happened over the holidays and it was memorable. My wife and I had spent the day running around doing errands and picking up a few things that we will need for New Year's Eve. We were leaving a strip mall parking lot and were about to merge into the traffic on a main road way. While waiting for a break in the traffic to merge we were hit hard from behind! The impact was accompanied by loud bang. I looked into my rear view mirror in time to see the other driver curse and slam her hands on her steering wheel. I got out of my car carefully to inspect the damage. I was expecting broken glass, a cracked bumper and perhaps a bent rear trunk hatch. What I saw was completely unexpected. What happened afterwards was even more surprising. It was a Christmas miracle! There was no damage, not even a scratch. The other car suffered nothing as well. Well almost nothing, you could see a perfect impression of my license plate in the dirt on her bumper. I looked again, I got closer and nothing had changed. In spite of the force of the impact and despite the promise of carnage that the loud bang had foretold, the two cars were in good condition. The other driver was a pretty young blonde named Jessica. She was visibly upset, shaking and looking quite afraid. I looked directly at her and said, "This is your lucky day. We are OK, the cars are OK, and there is no need to exchange insurance." I asked her if she was alright. She said, in a shaky voice, "Sort of...I'm not hurt, but, but... It's has been a really bad year and and...." And at that point she broke down in tears. The shock of the accident, the fear of the consequences and the sudden relief that there was no harm done, hit her all at once. I did what any one would do at this point and took her into my arms and gave her a comforting hug. Then I though about what I was doing and passed this attractive young girl to my wife for some motherly hugging. Soon the three of us were hugging in the middle of the street, between our cars. We asked Jessica if she wanted to go to Tim's for a coffee, at least until she calmed down enough to drive. She politely declined saying that she had to get her dad's car back home. Once we were assured she would be OK and that she would pose no risk to herself and other motorists we helped her back into her dad's car and went our separate ways. What could have been an awful pain in the ass situation turned out to be quite sweet. Jessica left us with a shy wave and profuse thanks and we went on out way feeling like we had comforted someone who was having a bad year. What could be more Christmasy then that?

I'm not that religious, but one of the tenants that I properly follow is the charity bit. So every year, I give 2.5% of whatever I'm worth to charity. I have always split it three ways. 1/3 for local causes. Sick Kids this year 1/3 for national causes. This year it was a split between Calgary and Quebec (The town that lost 50 people in the train crash) 1/3 for international. Almost every year I give to one of the best charities I know of - Ehdi.

I thank you all for the positive thoughts and comments. I want everyone to understand that this has nothing to do with health or a broken relationship. My grandfather told me to do what's right and not what's easy in life, so I did. I made the decision long ago to take a path in life knowing there would be a great deal of personal cost and there has been, but it had to be done. For all those who think you can help, unfortunately you can't. I have to walk this path alone and I knew that when this all started...it is my burden to bare, and mine alone. Spud271
