9 pointsThis subject will come up time and time again. Every once in awhile I chime in as I've been discriminated against once or twice in my lifetime... There's a very fine line here... the thing is, there are some people who are slightly insensitive about the situation and say "hey, who cares just move on". I'll tell you, most of us don't lose sleep over the fact that an SP didn't want to meet us... but that doesn't mean on the spot it doesn't bother us. It doesn't matter if it's an SP, or someone at Mcdonald's not wanting to serve me. If you are denied service for less than a good reason it's upsetting. People who are quick to say "who cares, move on" I encourage you to think about it seriously...think about a moment you were discriminated against for whatever reason then re-evaluate whether or not your answer is still "who cares, move on". Now objectively, better the SP mention it in her ad like most have said. There's no point if SP isn't into it. Why she may not be into black people? That's none of your business. It's disappointing when they say "yeah a black guy was aggressive with me, they are all like that". Generalizations are ignorant, but those who generalize typically are too. Really, it comes down to the fact that there is something else bothering you, because most people are reasonable and don't just make up their minds based on one experience (unless it was really that traumatizing). On the flip side, why read into it so much? Just because the SP's ad says no black people doesn't mean she's racist. Maybe, just maybe black people don't turn this particular SP's gears. We all have a favourite flavour of ice cream, that's not discrimination. We don't have to talk about the human rights act. It's a brand new year people, respect each other and be kind to one and other...We'll be just fine!

9 pointsI posted this comment in a similar thread previously, but I've added some comments based upon the recent Supreme Court's recent review of prostitution laws which have some relevance to this question. An sp can legally refuse to engage in sexual activity with anyone they choose, regardless of the reasons. There are very, very good reasons for this. The question of whether an sp can legally refuse to see clients of a specific ethnicity also applies to whether they can legally refuse to see clients of certain cultures, nationalities, religion, age, gender, size, hygiene, manners, ability to follow instructions, reputation, previous contact... Every reason that's ever been discussed on CERB. You name it! They are legally justified. The Canadian Human Rights Act prohibits the "denial of service" based upon "race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, disability...". Therefore if you only look at the Canadian Human Rights Act, you might think an sp cannot refuse to provide service to a client based upon race. However it's not that simple. Regardless of what the Canadian Human Rights Act says, neither the state nor a client can compel an sp (or anyone for that matter) to have sex with someone they don't want to have sex with. Why? Because compelling/forcing someone to engage in sexual activity conflicts with the sexual assault provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada. When there's a conflict between the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code of Canada, the Criminal Code takes precedence. The Criminal Code protects the person who does not "consent" or want to engage in sexual activity, regardless of what their reasons are for not consenting. Even if their reasons for not consenting conflict with the Canadian Human Rights Act, they are protected by the Criminal Code. Society's goal of protecting people from prejudice is obviously very commendable. However, the harm caused by legally forcing someone to have sex against their will is greater than the harm caused to the prospective client by denying sex to them based on race or ethnicity etc. The Criminal Code of Canada provisions for sexual assault require that "consent" be given when engaging in sexual activity. Sexual activity without "consent", regardless of why consent is withheld, is sexual assault. The Criminal Code also states that "Consent" "requires the voluntary agreement... to engage in the sexual activity in question." If an sp felt legally "obliged", "compelled" or "forced" to engage in sexual activity with someone because of the Canadian Human Rights Act they would be engaging in sexual activity under "duress". In other words, there would be no "voluntary agreement... to engage in the sexual activity." This is the very definition of sexual assault. This is also a good example of why "No means no." Not, "No means no... but only if you have a good reason." There's a fundamental principle at work here. Neither the state nor another individual can compel us to do something with our bodies that we do not want to do, regardless of whether our reasons are reasonable or unreasonable. This is a very good thing! In addition, as the Supreme Court pointed out in its recent prostitution decision, laws which are designed to achieve a social good (for example the Human Rights Act) cannot be justified if they cause unreasonable harm to individuals. In this discussion, that would be a sex worker's right to decide what they do with their body and their right to freely give or refuse sexual consent and not feel obliged by law to engage in any sexual activity. As we are all aware, sex work should be a mutually consensual service. It is not the sale/purchase of a body for use by the client as they desire. (Which is how many opponents of consensual sex work would describe it). While the Supreme Court's decision focused on the prostitution laws which it was hearing arguments about, they had a lot to say about the safety and security of sex work and sex workers in general. Those comments can be read into the application of other laws as precedent.

8 pointsI personally do not care what colour people are but it is really not uncommon for people that are Indian or Black to ask me if I see them. I see everyone as long as they are clean and respectful. Multiple responses that I have seen over the years in multiple threads. -If the SP is indian or black and say she doesn't want to see people of her own color, it can be because they are sometime small communities and everyone know everyone and she doesn't want to be recognize. It seem especially for East Indian providers. -She may have a pimp. But to be honest, you CANNOT compare this industry to any other. Not food services, you cannot claim humans rights etc. A restaurant is public establishment that provide a service. An SP is a PERSON that provide a service. A person has feelings and preferences. You are kissing, touching, putting your penis in her vagina. this is intimate and cannot be compare. What if the SP may have try to have sex with black /indians/blue with red dots and is really not attracted sexually to them? In our civilian life it happen all the time that people states they may have sexual preferences for x races or y hair color. While I do understand it may be discriminatory you cannot ignore someone personal preferences. In my eyes... Would you enjoy having sex with someone knowing they are forcing themselves to be there with you?

6 pointsThere was a girl who kept telling me "no greek, no greek." And I kept responding, "I'm not greek, quit covering your bum." /joke

5 pointsSeriously, calling it a human rights issue is an insult to the concept of human rights. No woman should ever be required to have sex with anyone she does not want to, nor will it ever be possible to legally defend such a position based on you paying for service (as the above poster so eloquently stated) You will never be entitled to have sex with a person just because you have cash on hand. Heck you even see on most SP ads that you are paying for the time and anything extra is between two consenting adults. I don't mean to sound aggressive, but there really are people with a lot bigger problems in this world than some hot escort that won't see them because of her personal preference. People are quick to scream human rights violation on the smallest of issues these days without really giving it much thought. Besides, what kind of experience do you think you would have with a woman that doesn't even like you and why would you want it? She probably listed it as a time saver for herself and anyone looking to be involved with her. Whether she still gets other people's business is their choice.
-
4 pointsThe OP said "Can't say I'd want to meet with a girl that openly racist." The short answer? Don't, if that's the way you feel. This is not a defense of the provider in question. I have no idea who she is, where she is located or what services she provides. Her presumed beliefs do NOT reflect my own. We can draw all kinds of conclusions in our own minds as to why the provider has set this proviso. Without her being on the board and willing to defend her stated preferences, we're all blowing hot air. There could be a MYRIAD of reasons that the provider has stated this publicly. If it affects you directly, then that's one provider that you can't see. Move along to one of the countless providers that WILL see you. She is NOT the only person in town offering services in exchange for remuneration. If it doesn't affect you directly, then you also have the choice to see or not see that provider. It's up to you. Just food for thought.

3 pointsWell I am not willing to give up head or intercourse....that would be a revolution not a resolution. That said... my goal for this year is to happier... i know that is a very general thing but for the people here who know me well they will understand and for at least one of them I owe them thanks for helping me see that I can look forward to happier times again.
-
3 pointsit is difficult to say. Will the law enforce that law as stringently as they have been enforcing the bawdy house or living off the avails laws? As in, will they turn a blind eye to the criminal actions of clients because they know that their time and energy is better spent on real crimes? Because that is what they have been doing for decades regarding those laws. I think what many sex workers are saying is they want to continue to work the way they are already working without it being illegal, and because doing it illegally there is always the very real threat that someone unhappy with her about something can expose her and get her evicted or exposed to friends, family and other tenants. With the laws overturned, she will continue to do what she is already doing, and now live without the fear of someone threatening to expose what she is doing at that location. \ I think there are a number of things that used to be illegal that governments eventually delete from the criminal code because they are stupid laws, or just laws no one is actually enforcing, or because society has changed in some way so that the thing itself is no longer a moral threat. Take a look at Colorado today. Would anyone ten years ago have said that any US state, including California, would have retail stores selling pot to non medical use customers? The reason they could make that next step, is because someone made the step to provide it and research it for medical use. That makes society more accepting of it in the abstract. Which leads to them being more accepting of it for general use. When the challenge hit the media, things were buzzing, but at the same time, many people were finally educated about the fact that it is legal work, and that the conditions imposed on the workers wouldn't be tolerated by any other group of workers. Maybe no one is ready for a retail shop to open on Main street, but I doubt if anyone is able to open a Pot Shop on Main Street Colorado either. No doubt they have restrictions and limits as to who can come into the venue and make a purchase, just as there will be restrictions and limits as to who can enter a massage parlour or independent sp incall.
-
3 pointsExactly this. More availability does not necessarily mean higher volume.
-
3 pointsAlso, let's not forget that if a provider says she's "busy" she may not actually be seeing clients, but having her own life, not in the mood, or maybe she hates you (lol).

2 pointsSo.... I have been watching a LOT of movies lately. LOTS. There have been great ones and not so great ones. There are valuable lessons to be learned from every movie that you watch.... here are a few from me. 1. Never trust a bald guy with a cat. (James Bond, Austin Powers) Lots of bald people on the planet. Lots of people with cats, too. You combine the two???? Deadly. Bald guys with cats generally belong to evil organizations that want to dominate the world. They have tanks filled with piranhas, sharks with lasers, ski teams with AK47's, and all kinds of other nasty things around their homes. Sure, they may seem polite and well spoken BUT... don't trust them. 2. Monkeys are fucking EVIL. (Planet of the Apes, 28 Days Later, Wizard of Oz) Sure they look all cute and such, but that's because they live in the jungle or if they are near people, we keep them in cages. Let those little bastards out and they will attack. In force. Super intellectual orangutans, brutish gorillas, scientific chimpanzees, rage infected baboons, winged gibbons... thank god we don't shave them and give them cats. 3. The 5 second rule does not apply to zombies (The Walking Dead, Dawn of the Dead... pretty much any movie that is premised on zombies and has "dead" in the title) Zombies are nasty. Sure they may have been humans at one point, but as part of their zombie union agreement, they had to forego the 5 second rule. So forget lying on the ground for a few minutes to make yourself less edible. You can roll around in dirt, cow poop, gravel, swamp slime... whatever... Zombies don't care. They'll still eat you. Bald, cat loving zombies started this practice. 4. Take off your glasses and become a different person (Superman I, II, III, IV, up to MCMLVXIII) It happens all the time. I walk around in my secret identity. I wear glasses to read. When I take them off, people wonder who I am. I put them on and they recognize me. Wear different glasses and I am different again. I take the different glasses off and I am the same unrecognizable guy. Superman was a genius... but not an evil genius. Superman had hair, and no cat. 5. When taking a vacation at a cabin, always take a large breasted expendable friend. (pretty much any horror movie, ever.) Here's the deal. We all know that psychos, axe murderers, chainsaw wielding demons, other-worldly beasts and bald guys with cats like to hang out in deeply forested regions with isolated cabins. Soooo... accompanied by a large breasted expendable friend, you go to the cabin. Send her in. She will explore the cabin whilst you unpack the car and do other things. If you hear a blood curdling scream (either coming from the dead animal filled basement or the really creepy cobwebbed upper floors), repack the car and leave. It's that simple. Ohhhh... and don't take a large breasted person that is actually likeable or has other redeeming qualities. Just take the expendable kind... I think they are listed on Kijiji. Sooo.... what are your life lessons???

2 pointsYes, what that schedule usually means is 'don't call me at 7am, or midnight or any time on Sundays" lol Some will look at it and think high volume, when it actually may just be the hours of someone who is low volume, but readily available to accomodate different clients times and schedules. I like the comment about using low volume for marketing. I can always remember reading someone saying they were low volume because they 'only' saw two FS clients, and 2 massage clients in a day, and the appts were typically 1.5 hour average, and so on. And I'm trying to add up the hours and times and thinking hell, that's a lot of volume for a low volume provider lol.
-
2 pointsHer body her choice. I am a little puzzled were does it say that a service provider is not allowed to choose who her clients are. No one questions our choice of which provider we see. She is not posting racist comments or racist slanders, she is expressing a personal choice.
-
2 pointsThat was actually the very first post of the 'Barb's' thread which is apparently at No. 2 in the rankings and quickly approaching one quarter million views - and rightfully so. My thanks to all the contributors and to the thread-starter Cato. Here's hoping the 'Barb's' thread will continue to be active, entertaining and informative in the New Year.
-
2 pointsSex for a provider and all women is and should be a matter of consent. I believe they have a legitimate right to decide who they will entertain. I think it doesn't take too much imagination to come up with some very legitimate reasons why they might adopt such a prohibition. No one should condone racial prejudice, but I don't see this as a place where human rights should take precedence. I believe I've have had women decide not to see me because of my age, but I don't cry discrimination. You accept these things and move on, probably wouldn't be a good date if she really doesn't want to see you anyway.

2 pointsAnd a lady advertising her availability as (hypothetically speaking here) 10am to 10pm Monday to Saturday doesn't mean she is seeing clients 12 hours a day 6 days a week, just that those are her hours of availability, that's all. RG
-
2 pointsHa...Are you telling me the lady I see most actually sees other guys?? She makes me feel like I am the only guy on earth she is interested in. So...the answer for me is it isn't a factor.
-
1 pointIt has to be one or the other! Head or intercourse and why. I would give up intercourse, I love sucking cock to much to give up head. Although it would be a hard choice as having them both always gives a better ending;) Now what are you really going to give up or start for the New year I'm giving up sugar-again!! and taking up exercise, today anyway;)
-
1 pointWell the ladies I want to see, I'll keep to myself till time to write a recommendation. But my wish is to connect and reconnect with those ladies that I had to postpone with last year due to family circumstances Two reconnections are in two weeks time :-) and I'm going to connect with a lady I have wanted to see for a long time in February. And I'm planning out the next few months of 2014 :-) It's starting off to be a Happy New Year RG
-
1 pointHmm, maybe it is an oversight by the other two members, but how it is that the lovely and legendary Cleo Catra is not on either of their lists (or top of mind)!?!??! Oh, for shame! Well, if our frisky feline friend is reading this and it makes her feel any better, she is most definitely on my list for 2014! Yes, most definitely!

1 pointHumm ... A good stiff drink or a wet, juicy DATY :) For me, I'd live without the stiff drink ... life without pussy :(

1 pointTo echo what others have said, a ton of useful information on this board. The best starting point is the "new to this" forum. The stickies at the start of the forum contain lots of information you need. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=207 Don't hesitate to ask questions and have fun. Porthos
-
1 pointAs far as volume goes... its' not something I really think about. As others have said, it's very hard to get an idea of how many other clients someone has, and in any case I don't see that it's any of my damn business. As for scheduling: I'm fine with getting organized in advance if that's what's required.

1 pointRecently had great shower experiences again with Gina and Kellyxo. Shower time so much fun with these two. Almost as good as the massage. Clean up is almost as much fun as the Beginning shower. Nothing better then soapy fun in the shower with sexy women with great bodies :)

1 pointMy beloved Terrier passed over on New Years Eve. It was a peaceful passing, and she was really feeling the cold and deep snow, so it was her time. She bravely battled cancer and then more recently end stage heart disease. A true lover of cats, a matriarch of the house, the best dog you could ever ask for. I will miss her greatly, but she is now running in heaven with her family that passed before her. Heaven has a new angel. Bless you little one. I love you always! xoxo

1 pointThere was a good article on this in the Ottawa Citizen yesterday, describing the model as driven by a particular kind of radical feminist ideology that portrays heterosexual males as aggressors and females as invariably victims, so it delegitimises women's options to offer sexual services on the grounds that women would only do so under some kind of constraint, physical, economic, social, etc. On the basis of ideological assumptions about what women's behaviour would necessarily be, proponents of the model decide that the exchange of sex for money can never be a freely chosen act on the woman's part. But this conclusion is based on a belief system not founded on empirical evidence. Feminist paternalism? How's that??

1 pointDon't think I have ever really Thought about the volume of a ladies business.... it would only matter to me if I was not able to get to see her because she us always busy. Personally I don't see a high volume of ladies but the one I do see and connect with I like go see often and the issue of not being able to see her us not usually a problem... that might be because I am a regular and she knows I want to see her. The most important issue a out volume for me for the ladies I like to see is that this is a business for them so I want their volume to be enough to meet their needs... of course this is selfish for me as I want them to continue to be here for me. I agree 100% that the main thing that impacts my wanting to see a lady is the personal connect I have with her.... like all human interaction...it is always about the Relationship.

1 pointSometimes finding a lady who offers both GFE and massage may be good for you. I find even with msog, at times the "recovery" time can be awkward. So if she is able to bring you to the massage table, or massage there on the bed, it is a good way to stir up the chemistry and connect. Good luck, happy hobbying:)

1 pointNikki, thanks for the comments you've added to this thread. It's been very valuable to hear from someone who has been closer to the case than any of us have been. The issue you've raised of defining "prostitution", "sex" or "sexual services" in any new prostitution laws is an interesting one. While some of these words are used in the Criminal Code's prostitution laws, it's worth noting that none of these terms are actually defined in the Criminal Code. The legal understanding of these terms is based upon the "common law" precedents which have developed in previous cases. Much of our law is in fact common law and it doesn't have a lesser status than "written" laws. The courts, including the Supreme Court, haven't expressed any difficulty in understanding or applying these terms as legal concepts when hearing prostitution cases dealing with bawdy houses, public solicitation, living off the avails or procuring etc. They shouldn't have any difficulty in any future legislation either, regardless of how prostitution is regulated. In fact there's a good argument to be made that they shouldn't try to write a definition of things that are already understood and have useful meaning in common law. You can cause more harm than good. While our prostitution laws are broke, it's not due to a lack of definitions. As the Supreme Court stated in a previous case the problem has been "(the) bizarre, situation where almost everything related to prostitution has been regulated by the criminal law except the transaction itself." Added to that is the recent decision which shows how these laws cause serious harm to individual citizens while only achieving minor good for society in general.

1 pointNikki has made several good points in her post. I just want to add some information with respect to swingers clubs and strip clubs. In 2005 the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that swingers clubs were not involved in prostitution. It was determined they were not "common bawdy houses" because there there was no "purchase of sexual services" (prostitution) taking place in them. Members were engaged in consensual sex and they weren't paying each other for sexual services. In the case of commercial swingers clubs, since there wasn't any prostitution occurring the club owners were not "living off the avails" of prostitution. It was also determined that since the clubs were private, regardless of whether they were in a home or commercial club, they weren't violating public indecency/nudity laws either. In the case of strip clubs, the courts have dealt with them under the indecency/nudity laws rather than prostitution laws. They provide erotic services, but not sexual services. (Provided of course that dancers are not illegally providing hand jobs or blow jobs etc in the champagne rooms, in which case they'd be providing sexual services; they and their customers would be engaging in prostitution; and the clubs would be bawdy houses/brothels.) Generally the move to contact dances for example has been upheld by the courts as not violating indecency laws and they have determined that there is no public harm which would cause them to be outlawed. In addition strip clubs aren't being charged with prostitution. (There is one case in Quebec, but it appears to be an anomaly and it wasn't taken to the Supreme Court.) There would have to be a very serious rewriting of the laws to catch swinger's clubs and strip clubs up in any new prostitution laws. Having said that, I'm sure strip clubs are now looking at the business opportunity to expand into sexual services by providing on site brothels and escort services. In many European countries for example, strip club and brothel services are offered under one roof. In this type of environment it becomes more difficult for dancers to find work if they only want to provide dances and not sexual services also.

1 pointNever been to a Social yet and can't make the proposed March date so I am not sure my comment will matter but the name tag idea could be tied into an ice breaker activity... everyone gets assigned a random name tag when they arrive along with an ice breaker sheet that asks them to check off everyone they meet.... this icebreaker sheet would provide the icebreaker name and members Cerb handle..... everyones privacy gets protected... no Cerb names are displayed... and the icebreaker activity could have a prize that would encourage people to mingle.... for those who might be less social it would give them a reason to approach the sexy ladies. Just my opinion...i hope it is another great Social... wish I could attend.
