Yes, I agree with most of what you said. However, the fundamental difference (at least for me) is that with the old laws, outcalls were 100% legal. That is, for a strictly outcall guy like myself, I could have my fun without the risk of being charged. Now, under a Nordic model, I would effectively be breaking the law every time I invite a lady to my residence.

I think most of us would prefer "no labels" except then how difficult would advertising be to promote yourself and find the clients you seek? Unfortunately labels are a way to distinguish what you're looking for from what you're not and a required component of this industry.

To flip the coin, my criteria for booking a gentlemen, 1. from his first enquiry, I can see if this person is respectful and classy. That is my number 1 thing I look at, an enquiry that is " what's up" or " lookin' to blow my load" is not going to even be answered" 2. The ability to follow instructions. If you can not follow a simple request like " no blocked numbers or no email bookings" then how can I be assured that you will follow my requests such as "NO means NO" Or to show up on the time we decided? If on CERB and has some kind of posting history is always a good way to get a booking, as I know you have must have spent some time getting to know me and the lingo of our industry. A cerb member with history here is going to get the booking before joe-blow I have no knowledge on. 4. If your not calling/txt every night 4 am....not interested in meeting you cause you are probably doing something to stay awake every night. If you work nights, best to txt me in the day before work to let me know this. I do not provide services after 9 pm anyways. 5. To return to me, you have been clean, fresh, respectful and kind. If not, I suppose " I am not available today" or if so uncomfortable for me, I will say so. You can then look for another provider. Almost every day I get up and see that there were several missed calls in the middle of the night right up to 5 and 6 AM. I have never had a SDaddy, but my GF did. She hated it! I've heard similar complaints. Control, jealous issues, and so on. But that is kind of why it is set up, an older man taking care of younger woman, guiding and controlling lol My opinion is that it is not ideal for an sp. It can potentially keep you out of business, advertising and seeing and nurturing regular sp clients, while you are in a SD/SB relationship. You wouldn't normally do both. So when the contract ends, you have to struggle to get your regulars back. Another complaint i have heard is the assumption of BBFS in a SD/SB set up, because it is exclusive and because the women who usually do it one at a time are not sps, and don't have the cover it up at all times mentality. If you want to make an 'arrangement', as an sp you have the option of setting up prepaid accounts for some regular clients. My friend does this, based on the type of visits, length of visits, and quantity of visits. her most common one is buy 5 get one free. They pay for a half hour, or hour, sessions in advance and the 6th one free, so a 600 value for 500 prepaid. She has a nice filing system and the gentlemen must sign in when using up one of the sessions, kind of like a coffee card :)

What signs? It has been explained elsewhere on this board about the process of getting a bill passed and into law. Even if they were going with the Nordic model, and that is a big "if", it would take months if not a year for it to get through the house. It is not even been drafted yet, let alone ever started going through all the steps. As for your estimate of how long before it is challenged, I think you are way off on that one as well. If the Government tries to put a law in place that clearly ignores the supreme court ruling in regards to the specific portions of the Criminal code that were struck down, then I don't think anyone would be convicted. First the Nordic model does not outlaw selling of sexual services, so then that is still a legal job, even though nobody can buy. But the Nordic model also outlaws brothels, and living off the avails, which is in direct contravention of the SCC ruling. One of the key conditions of that ruling was that selling sex was still legal. That condition is met in the Nordic model, so putting back the same restrictions would not be accepted. Judges would not convict, and most smart prosecutors would not prosecute because they do not like having their rulings overturned. The SCC ruling is a legal precedent that most defense counsels would use, and challenges and appeals to that would not take as long even if there was a conviction. The court has examined all the evidence and ruled. They will not try and put this model in place, they know what the rulings meant. However, as we see, even from the Liberal policy convention, everybody is trying to avoid taking a position. They are going to analyze it, and seek input, it will get delayed procedurally, it will die on the order paper. They know they have two choices, either outright criminalization, or regulation. They talk about Nordic to keep the uneducated masses happy, but they know it will not work.

Ok, I admit my ignorance on how the legal system works in Canada, but answer me this: The SCC has stated that government must write fair laws governing prostitution which adhere to their ruling. We all know that the Nordic model will never pass muster when it is challenged again, and the government no doubt is aware as well. How then is it possible for unjust laws to be passed regardless, without any checks and balances at the forefront? In effect, it renders the SCC decision moot for a period of time until it is again dragged through the courts. In light of this, should not a law of this nature be subject to approval by the SCC prior to being implemented? It would certainly expedite the process and save everyone a lot of grief.

Another batch... Not planning on it, but as others have said, this is very much a wait-and-see thing. For established providers, I think the fact that you're an established provider will suffice. I imagine entrants to the industry would find things... hard. I've never been one to go chasing after whoever's the shiny new SP this week, so this wouldn't actually change things much for me, but it might for those who do. And, of course, they've always been purely social dates; the rest of it is for paid appointments. It helps everyone to keep the boundaries clear. No idea. Sorry! Can't help you on most of that. On last minute vs booking ahead: for me, it depends how busy I am and how predictable life is being. Sometimes I can schedule well in advance and be confident of keeping the appointment, but quite a bit of the time the risk of having to cancel - possibly at short notice - is unacceptably high. Even if I cancel a day or two in advance, I don't want to be that guy who books and then cancels all the time. When I can't commit, I'll do last-minute stuff as and when I have the opportunity.

Everyone needs to make decisions that reflect their own reality so what is right for someone else may not be right for me. To each their own and who gives a flying fuck what someone else thinks is crazy. Just my opinion
