Automatic updates can be problematic. They often load programs that significantly slow down your machine, and they often load programs that are of no benefit to the specific user. For instance, Microsoft is constantly pestering me to update Media Player and several other programs that I do not use. Often these programs start up when you start your computer. This makes your startup time much longer and eats up your processor and memory. Go through your startup menu on msconfig and see how many things are going on. I went through Task Manager and turned off dozen or more things. Dear Microsoft...there is no need for my clock to be corrected hourly. Adobe...there is no need for my pdf reader to be running if I am not looking at a pdf. It can be a bit more work to do custom updates but it is worth it in my opinion.

Here is my take on it (and since I enforce the rules here on this site this is how it goes down here) If someone steals someones photos, unique tag lines or an obvious cut and past of someones text from either an ad on cerb or someone personal website I will intervene. For STOLEN TEXT I issue a warning and delete the offending post if I feel it is a valid complaint against the person. If they do it again I suspend them for a minimum of 7 days... then boot them from the site if you continue to do it. I do NOT hunt out fake photos or stolen text, it is only brought to my attention (and the other moderators attention) if someone FLAGS the post using the button. So please if you see an OBVIOUS stolen text report it with a link to the original text. Same with photos, when reporting fake photos it is best to report them with a link to the REAL photo.

I'm a criminology student so I come into contact with law enforcement a lot. From what I can tell, the LE are expecting that while the Bedford case will most likely make it illegal for any client to purchase sex, the LE don't intend to enforce it online. The Ottawa LE currently does not have a unit that monitors online solicitation at all, and they doubt a unit will be created for this. If you read through the entire thread/posts it's understandable why the Winnipeg gents are commenting as they are. Yes all cities have their issues when it comes to this hobby but there are some cities that have issues that are unique to them and to understand them you have to live there and experience them. But for most of us it's easier to criticize than to be understanding, that's human nature. If you don't live it, taste it, walk it, wear it, see it, feel it, how can you understand it? Yet some are good and want to try help, so we comment, we want to help but without the experience our comments are just that and not solutions so they frustrate some:( They should still be appreciated however. Kindness, a willingness to want to help is always a good thing, even though it maybe not helpful:)
