First the Snowden revelations is irrelevant. In this country you need a judge to sign a warrant to allow electronic/phone surveillance. Without that anything the cops would have is inadmissible in court. The government is looking at amending that but for cases of national security. I doubt getting laid falls under that category. 2nd For those that have been around long enough, there was a time we were seeing ladies before internet and smartphone existed. Not having boards like this we weren't getting information on what exactly is the law and did not understand the actual ones properly. Back then we you either met a lady on the street or you looked at papers and yellow pages. Those ads sure did not describe services as it would have cost too much. So basically when you called, the lady would give you a description of herself and instructions for meeting her. Back then I never discussed any services over the phone. Therefore, should the communication part of the bill becomes law, without any changes, all we have to do is go back to the old practice. You do not discuss sexual services on the phone, text or PM. You see the lady for her time and nothing else. So you will not know what services the lady offers in advance but where is your sense of adventure. That's the way it was done in the past and we survived!

Honestly? Just knowing I can relax and have a quiet day. I had a death of a close family member last week. So, a lot of travelling back and forth between cities to assist, and then the shootings here. Today, there's nothing on my plate. And, I'll worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. :)

I think it can be... not as an end itself, but as a means of helping you to make other, more permanent change in your life that will make you less lonely. Loneliness comes from the absence of people who share in your life. It's not the absence of people -- you can be surrounded by people, even married to someone, and yet still be lonely because they're not truly sharing who you are and what you care about. So the question becomes -- how can you add such people to your life? That can be tough, especially if your experiences to this point have resigned you to your fate; if you don't believe you're capable of emotional intimacy, or you feel you've lost that capacity you once had. Time with an SP is only temporary and brief, but the effects can be long-term. Just spending some time with someone who can be intimate, who can be sexual, who can be focused on you and pay attention to your desires and your body... that's therapeutic. It can remind you that you're capable of that kind of intimacy, and of its importance to you. It can also teach you some lessons about handling yourself in intimate situations -- not just sexual, but in conversation and in interacting with someone in a caring and open way. If you've been afraid of such things the SP can help you overcome those fears. And then you can take those lessons and apply them to your non-SP interactions with people in other parts of your life. So... does a relationship with an SP fix loneliness? Not by itself. But it can be genuinely valuable in equipping you to overcome whatever obstacles are keeping you from finding someone, and which are leading to your loneliness in the first place. Don't look at time with an SP as just a brief respite from the symptoms of the problem -- look at it as a cure for the cause, if you're willing to take the opportunity to learn and then do some work.

Just wanted to say... As Old Dog posted in another thread, it's only a bill right now. I cannot believe the number of ladies and gents I have spoken to who are in panic mode right now. If it does become law, stick to established providers you can trust for the first little while while waiting to see how this whole thing plays out.

That's 100% malarkey. A stereotype and nothing more. The top 3 biggest cocks I've ever handled all belonged to Caucasian men. Dick size is no more related to skin color than pussy tightness is to hair color. I've seen sizes ranging from itty bitty to king kong dong on all races but as the saying goes it's how you use it that matters. I was actually very shocked the first time I heard that some SPs refuse to see black men. I was contacted by a potential client who was inquiring about my services. At the end of the email, he felt obligated to inform me that he was mulatto and asked if it was ok. If I'd still see him. This was how I found out about race restrictions. I was in disbelief and appalled. I still can't believe it. Same goes for some refusing to see BBM (is that correct?). I understand we all have different tastes but for me, my personal taste doesn't influence who I take on as a work client. I'm not seeking someone to date or marry and have a family with at work. I want clients who are respectful, kind, reliable, fun to spend time with, etc. It doesn't matter what they look like. Everyone deserves to be made to feel special!

In the "old" days when there we just yellow page ads and newspaper print ads, nothing explicit was advertised or discussed over the phone. We managed then and we will adapt. The sky is not falling.

I really doubt that the LE and the cities with their tight budgets will get into a very complex and expensive surveillance on the individuals when they communicate between themselves to book an appointment or to inquire about the services. There are so many other threats to the safety of the Nation that they will do then as they do now. They already try to focus on the child pornography issue, but their resources are not enough to cover that task, more crucial and important than the communication between an honest hobbyist and an honest SP. For Harper, and his supporters, what is annoying is what you see in the street. For that matter, the street workers will have a hard time, and their safety will be at risk. And Street workers are not the ones that use computers and emails to promote their business. Look at the presentation of McKay on C36: the purpose of C36 is the safety on the streets... not about the safety of the street workers. This new bill is so full of non-sense that it will be overturned by the SCC. What we have to do is to help those who will contest C36 in court, like Pivot Legal Society of BC. When I say help, I am saying to support them or group alike with our donation. It's in our own interest and in the interest of the industry. We all know that money will be the tool to win this legal battle; Harper has access to our taxes to fight against us; so we have to be strong together. The other thing we have to do is to make sure that Harper and his party will lose the next election. And really, do you think that Fort McMurray and the tar sand industry could last without the SPs ?

I find there are a lot of old time clients still using paper ads, those two line plus a 3rd line for the phone# style, no pics, no menus, etc etc, and they seem to do just fine getting the info, making the appt, and showing up and having a good time. Maybe the online internet ad reliant types are going to have to adjust how they deal with this biz, but that might be a good thing?

I date black gentlemen an see them as an sp as well so I can say I have had the pleasure of seeing small to average to large to hugeee I have also spent time with a few Cacausian gentlemen who were extremely well endowed I know what I have experienced both personal and as an SP and all I am saying is the color of your skin doesn't determine the size of your cock Nor should it determine wether or not you will be a perfect gentlemen during an.encounter Yes we all have a personal preference on what we are attracted to and that's ok It's life But to assume someone may act a way based on their race is ignorant and just not right

I think it depends on the type of person you are, if you are able to separate feelings and get back to your normal life then yes seeing a SP is a good way to cope with loneliness. but if it becomes a regular habit then that is where hiccups could happen. I know I've expereinced it on both sides now and it can get complicated. I've also learned it is unrealistic to go in thinking you can separate feelings and try and ignore them. I think setting boundaries is a little better, because you always have them to remind yourself why you are seeing a SP in the first place.

So what! I have been in this business for 33 years and seen ladies in many different countries all with different laws, and it never stopped me. There is nothing wrong with seeking the company of a woman. Now if we happen to get naked in private, oh well things happen! Its as much legal to give cash to a lady that you spend time with so she can buy herself a gift, as it is to taking her out to a fancy restaurant and paying for the food and drinks.
  24. 2 points
If you wanted to try to slip through by paying the donation one day and having the encounter on a different date, it would probably be more likely to go the other way and you'd be expected to pay a couple days in advance rather than afterwards. That way the risk and onus of trust is on the gent rather than the lady. However, I'm not sure this would really work. I mean, if you already have the established relationship enough that this much trust is built up, then I'm not sure why you'd be worried about just paying at the start of the encounter as usual, since it clearly wouldn't be a sting or set-up. If the worry is that law enforcement would try to prove it after the fact, then whether you pay 5 minutes in advance or 2 days later wouldn't really make a difference, since it would still be clear to anyone what was going on. I mean, suppose you purchase stolen goods. Whether you pay for them at the time your given them or a couple days later, you could still be equally charged. Holding off a couple days doesn't provide legal deniability. Anyway, it's an interesting thought. I just figure if you already have a trusting relationship, you probably don't have as much to worry about.

So I took one for the team... 24/7 agency? I was assured prior to the appointment by a man on the phone that it would not be a bait and switch situation after I warned him I would leave if it was. Well it was a bait and switch but whats worse is this girl was obviously not in a good place. She tried to make small talk and stuff and it was just really bad. I could tell she was struggling with addiction. She had that emptiness about her. The apartment was filled with smoke. There was weed out on the table. It was a truly Disgusting scene. I turned and left. Makes me sick how people can be exploited this way. 24/7 agency = very bad. Stay away.

Not sure if this has been posted BUT it is important. This is the actual process of how a bill becomes law in Canada. http://www.parl.gc.ca/About/House/compendium/web-content/c_g_legislativeprocess-e.htm So when you are fretting about Bill SeeDirtySex (C36) remember what was tabled on Wednesday is like a piece of cloth before it gets tailored into a suit. IT IS NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT. An all party committee will scrutinize the living shit out of the current bill. You can bet that more than one member will PUBLICLY suggest that the bill is absolutely contrary to the SCC decision and will suggest sending the bill or parts thereof to the SCC as a series of test questions. You know how the SCC has ruled - in unanimity. What can you do in the interim? Contact your MP. Demand a written response. Organize. Organize. Organize. If you are a part of a SW organization, enlist the support of human rights organizations. Have THEM speak on your behalf in concert with your own voice. Find SW friendly artists, authors, educators and other persons of note to advocate for you. Get Elizabeth May on board. Get the NDP on board. Get the Liberals on board. Don't get sidetracked on side issues. No tangents. You want to gain support NOT alienate. This bill affects both sexes. In the resounding words of Pierre Elliot Trudeau - "There's no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation." That was nearly 50 years ago. Let's NOT go backwards. Just some food for thought.

I agree with Steve McQueen's logic. If the bill does pass, it wouldn't surprise me if LE do a blitz to make themselves look good, then let ease off once they've got all the good press they can get out of it. Even if they don't get many convictions, a whole bunch of arrests might be good enough press.

I hate these discussions because essentially they all boil down to "it's a sex worker's choice who s/he sees." But if you're making race-based generalizations as your reasoning for why you won't see XYZ race, well you're being racist. Discriminate based on bad behaviour, not race.

Myself, I don't see this stupid thing ever being the law of the land. It is just too ill-conceived and badly written to have any real legs. I see it as McKay and Harper trying to appease the right wing side for the election and nothing more. I just am not too worried at this point. Also, as has been mentioned, enforcing it is a nightmare for the cops. They don't have the resources to do what everybody seems to be worried about. They will instead, go after easy targets. They do this in the US all the time. When the street walkers become too visible and complaints start, they put on a show of "cracking down". Then tell the ladies to be more discreet and the ladies move somewhere less in the "soccer mom's" eyes. The cops then go back to ignoring it. They rarely if ever target the high end escort biz.

The challenge will not be the ongoing conversations between regular clients and SP'S the issue will be that first contact and the willingness or lack thereof of clients to accept the additional risk. Over time options similar to those used in the US Will develop..... prostitution has existed since the beginning of time so a silly ill conceived law will not change that. Just my opinion
  38. 1 point
Well, it's not even about whether charges would stick... an arrest (however unlikely) gets a guy's name and /or photo in the papers and the news. That alone would be enough to potentially destroy someone's family or career. Even if they get off scot free, the damage is done. Additional Comments: Any idea how long? There are posters on another board saying a challenge could take between 5 to 10 years before everything is said and done.

It has been , as far as I understand, legal in Canada to see a lady in ones hotel room. This is explicitly no so with the new law. Many stuck mostly to this activity in in the past. It is going to be not worth the risk for many travelling businessmen to take the risk , no matter how much care is taken with carefully worded ads etc. Each potential client will have their own tolerance of risk. The threat of a criminal record and jail time is very serious. Too high for many.

This sounds just like the old days except for the texting part. LOL! When I first started as an SP, the ladies did NOT speak about sexual services on the phone ( acronyms did not exist), no one negotiated, there was none of this 15 minute b.s. or "How much for just a bj?" The client paid the rate for "time and companionship" which was reiterated over and over to each client. The client anticipated a good time. If they didn't, they never called back to repeat with that particular SP. The lady showed up, she didn't touch the envelope until some sort of sexual advance was made by either her or the client. That's how you knew neither was LE. The laws were consdiered a grey area back then and during this time in Ottawa, incalls were not a popular choice among SPs. If they did offer them, it was with established regulars. As years passed, SPs and clients alike became more courageous because they knew LE weren't enforcing the laws if you kept your head down and flew under the radar. The industry changed and kept evolving and business carried on. This is how it was always done in the early days ( before the internet and when the internet was in its infancy with escort industry sites) and this is the way it will have to be done again. If certain laws are passed especially regarding bawdy houses and making sure no one under the age of 18 is or could be present, the question will be how far LE will go to enforce such laws if passed? Will they have the budget to do it? It will be interesting to see how it plays out and how far they will go to prosecute. As Forunateone pointed out, they will go after the easiest targets and that's sexworkers who are on the streets.

Although I agree RG, I can say as an agent, that I fear agencies will be a "person of interest" as agencies are stationary and not traveling as INDY. Because of our stationary status, we will be more easily able to attract attention. Not to mention the plethora of " bad agencies" out there, they are more likely to look at ALL agencies as " bad" ....BUT NOT ME because I will not advertise sex nor answer any enquiry suggesting as such. Myself has faced on 2 occasions with a " notice" on my door that there a suspected " illegal massage parlor" in the neighborhood. But nothing ever happened because I was SOLO at that time and not commercial. I obviously figured this was some competition that wanted me gone. NOW I own my house, with a separate apartment built with in. I never did high volume revolving door style, but yet thee was a complaint against me and the POPO had no choice but to check it out. SO....If I never admit, communicate or advertise sexual services, then I suppose they have nothing to go on.
  48. 1 point
Ohhhh dear, you do not need to think that way. Even if it does become law, if you never ask for sexual services, and we never advertise it, who is to say anything?? Are they in the room with you? Is there an email/txt of you asking for BBJ? MSOG? NO there will not be. They having nothing to charge you with. IF it is, then just follow simple rules, when booking a new lady, DONT ASK FOR SEX, ASK HOW MUCH IS YOUR TIME? And go blindly hoping to have all you desire fulfilled. If she is not your kind of girl you just do not return for more...if it is, the super!! You just got yourself a regular SP :) Think of this..example of a txt Hello, are you available to meet me, I was thinking of having company for one hour. what is your rate. My time for an hour is XXX. You can call me for location and confirmation. THEN you arrive and we have tea and cookies. Who knows??

This is slightly off topic but there used to be a girl named Jessie at Barbarella's in the late 80's who was just drop-dead gorgeous, natural bonde blued eyed Gatino girl, she was not a great dancer but had amazing looks, legs in particular, she'd always dance to the song Forever Your Girl...she gained some weight at the years passed but was still stunning looking esp when she wore her American flag bikini...she was shy at first but came out of her shell and would actually sit in your lap back in the no-touching days, which meant a girl really like you if she sat in your lap...nice memories..

So, let's review. OP asks why some providers specify no black customers. Replies include because she's a bigot. She has an black "agent" (can we just be plain and call him a pimp?), blacks (not all but enough to warrant a rule) have cleanliness issues and haggle. Did I miss anything? You just know where I'm going with this, don't you? There's enough "judgemental" in this short thread to feed a family of four for a week. How about we go with the idea that the provider just chooses not to see black men for reasons known only to her. Just like some choose not to see old men, some not young men. Not sure how the putative pimp showed up so early. We all know cleanliness and haggling are not race based. So I would go with this answer to the OP question: because she chooses to (or not) and there's no accounting for taste.
