7 pointsNot sure if this has been posted BUT it is important. This is the actual process of how a bill becomes law in Canada. http://www.parl.gc.ca/About/House/compendium/web-content/c_g_legislativeprocess-e.htm So when you are fretting about Bill SeeDirtySex (C36) remember what was tabled on Wednesday is like a piece of cloth before it gets tailored into a suit. IT IS NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT. An all party committee will scrutinize the living shit out of the current bill. You can bet that more than one member will PUBLICLY suggest that the bill is absolutely contrary to the SCC decision and will suggest sending the bill or parts thereof to the SCC as a series of test questions. You know how the SCC has ruled - in unanimity. What can you do in the interim? Contact your MP. Demand a written response. Organize. Organize. Organize. If you are a part of a SW organization, enlist the support of human rights organizations. Have THEM speak on your behalf in concert with your own voice. Find SW friendly artists, authors, educators and other persons of note to advocate for you. Get Elizabeth May on board. Get the NDP on board. Get the Liberals on board. Don't get sidetracked on side issues. No tangents. You want to gain support NOT alienate. This bill affects both sexes. In the resounding words of Pierre Elliot Trudeau - "There's no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation." That was nearly 50 years ago. Let's NOT go backwards. Just some food for thought.

4 pointsYesterday, I had a call from 411 directory. They wanted to know if my ad needed updates. I asked he was aware of the new bill that may be our new laws. I continued to inform him, he was greatly concerned and irritated by the whole thing. Not for his job or anything, as 411 has many other business to advertise for. He said he would speak to his supervisor about this, and what they plan to do with the escort category. He also said that he will do his part in writing to different offices, voicing his concern too. Hope that he does! I was happy to see that someone outside of my business and this bored to be genuinely concerned. I know is just one person on a phone, but gives me a glimmer of hope that others will also become more and more aware of this disturbing bill.

3 pointsIf I send a picture to a lady that I've met,or have had a mutual respect for, I will always ask firstly. It seals a bond of huge trust between each other, and that, I respect the most in this business and friendships. It is not about me showing off certain body parts of mine, as I'm not that buffed young looking lad, nope I'm just that mature early fifties gent, showing my face or my body to her is telling her "hey I value your trust, honesty and friendship" so here is a picture for you. I'm not feeling nervous,or invincible perhaps a little naughty, and yes I actually feel desired, happy, accepted, yes thrilled too when when she says "yes" It is about respect and a hint of naughtiness that sets a tone for a date. I had to send a photo to a companion down state side for her screening process, last fall, ever since then we still exchange emails once and a while to say hello, it built a very trusting SP and gent friendship and to me that is very important. I also like to believe that my photos are her property now, and she wouldn't share them, and that is a bond and trust that she must keep, so it has it's benefits for both involved.

2 pointsJust wanted to say that after being on Cerb for 4 years and meeting many SP's and MA's over the years that I have learnt a lot about the women who have chosen the is path as a career. Most of them have chosen this career because they enjoy the independence and financial freedom that it can bring. But this job is not easier. Many of them have families or kids to support. University educations that they are trying to complete. This job is demanding as it involves many hours of marketing, emailing, posting ad's answering text and PM's. Trying to get hotel, schedule appointments. The women who are most successful at this job are the one's that truly enjoy their work and like to please their clients. I've met many of these women and have truly enjoyed my time with them time and again. This can be a stressful time as they need the time to prepare the room and prepare themselves for each encounter. Some day's it can busy and other day's not. Some day's they meet some really fun gentlemen and other days, maybe some creeps. Some have been robbed, or beaten up or cheated. Sometimes there no shows or other girls that make fake appointments. This is a hard job. Sometimes it is physically demanding. They give their most intimate moments. It takes a certain kind of woman to handle the emotions and sexual activities that this job may entail. One SP, told me that it's not the physical aspect that is tiring. But the emotional aspect. To be able to pretend to enjoy themselves when they are not. She was saying that in this job she had to be the giver all the time and that most of the men were takers. Her Job was to give them pleasure and most men just used her to get as much pleasure for themselves. These women deserve more, they deserve to be treated kindly and with respect. Respect their time and their contact protocol. Be a gentlemen and be clean. Do not try to negotiate their rates, or push them for more then they are willing to offer. Give them a massage to start, make it about them in the beginning. They may have had a hard day, and appreciated a little kindness and tenderness and relaxation. Talk to them, they are people also, not just objects of your lust. Treat them well and with respect and kindness. I've been told by them, that it doesn't matter how old or what you look like. As long as you are a gentlemen and clean, you will be treated well. Remember, that they are there to make you happy and are providing a very intimate service, so you should appreciate they company they provide. If the chemistry and connection are there, you will have a great time. If the connection is real, it pays to return for repeat sessions. I have repeated many times with many of the women, and have found that each session get's better and better, as you get to know each other and are more relaxed with each other. I have had several good friendships developed over the years and have maintained them. Just wanted to say this to thank you to the women of Cerb for the fun and kindness that they have given us men over the years. I hope to meet many more of you over the next few years if I can :) Remember guys. Be a gentleman, be clean and respectful and you shall be rewarded. Oh yeah, one more thing. The woman should always cum first :)

2 pointsMy answer right now would really have to be that I am unsure at the moment. I am still reasonably confident that reason will prevail and that this political foolishness will be withdrawn. If not, then I suppose as the saying goes, "Where there's a will, there's a way."

2 pointsThis one's a giant "Meh" at the moment. First, as has been said, nothing is law yet. Second, even if the bill becomes law unchanged... I'm wondering how many folks who quit initially will get bored of the company of their own right hands after a week, or a month, or whatever, and drift back...

2 pointsI hate these discussions because essentially they all boil down to "it's a sex worker's choice who s/he sees." But if you're making race-based generalizations as your reasoning for why you won't see XYZ race, well you're being racist. Discriminate based on bad behaviour, not race.
-
2 pointsOne further thing that came to me over the last few hours. PLEASE engage the potential leaders that are vying to fill the position that Shawn Atleo left as National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. This bill completely ignores the outcry of the First Nations in regard to the disappearances and murders of 3000 Aboriginal women. In fact, it further endangers the countless women who may fall or have fallen victim to creatures like Robert Pickton, many of whom were First Nations. The United Nations is investigating the disappearances and the unheeded call for government action to solve this horrible phenomenon. THIS BILL FURTHER JEOPARDIZES THE PLIGHT OF ABORIGINAL WOMEN. In an era where the Conservative government values international reputation as highly as it does, it certainly can't afford overt UN condemnation. More food for thought.

1 pointHi have a thing for Indian (South Asian) girls... so without further adooo.. Part 1 Zara at CMJ. Wonderful experience. She is mixed race - South and East Asian - Zara has awesome features and does still appear, at least to me, to be of Indian heritage... thereby taking me back to my youth and my old backpacking days! : ) Amazingly, Zara has turned me into a bit of breast-man lately. Give me a spank-able ass any day and I'll spend 24 hour there.. but for whatever reason Zara's boobs had me mesmerized and I had LOTS and LOTS of fun playing with her front, back and behind. Looking forward to her return from vacation!

1 pointThis morning while I drink my coffee and read the boards here, I?m struck by how many complaints we have about the guys who take advantage of some aspect of our services and then treat us badly. There are active discussions about men who: Try to negotiate or bargain clearly-stated non-negotiable fees Try to pay less than the agreed fee after they arrive Try to get services that were not agreed on before the date Complain about our screening questions Don?t bother to take a shower, brush their teeth or trim their nails before seeing us Assume that we're likely to rob them Threaten to write bad reviews and/or aren?t believed when they write good ones Insult us, our need for safety and even our looks when we don?t give in to what they demand No one is forced to read our ads and websites, look at our photos, contact us, discuss our services with us, or meet with us. It?s all voluntary and initiated by the client. The client has needs, feelings, preferences and curiosity, but why do so many refuse to take responsibility for themselves? What they express as anger, self-righteous indignation and personal entitlement is really projected self-hatred. I want to sit these men down and say: If you don?t want to see a paid companion, don?t do it. If you decide to seek out a companion, that's your decision. What you want is not what everyone else may want. That?s usually a wonderful thing. Recognize that we?re not like cheap candy that you can buy daily. We?re more like fine dining to be enjoyed occasionally. Plan accordingly. If someone?s prices are too high for you, either wait until you can afford her, or find someone else. Meanwhile, don't blame her for your lack of funds. Recognize that she charges what the market will bear. That means that there are plenty of others who can afford to see her. Always be polite and considerate. No matter what. Even if you feel confused, disappointed or insulted, be polite. Remember that companions are human beings, just like you. We have needs, desires, dreams and things we?re worried about or afraid of, just as you do. We will protect both your health and our own. Fair is fair. If you're worried about your safety, know that she's concerned about her safety, too. No matter who or how important you are or think you are, the one who is taking the most risks is always the companion. Always. Relax.

1 pointThis scenario excites me BIG TIME! I've been to strip-clubs a few times, I would probably go more often if I didn't have to be accompanied by a man. The few times I have gone, I really enjoyed myself in the CR. One time the dancer bought my drinks all night. Awesome! I'm game!

1 pointA lot of fear mongering. How many saw escorts at their incall location or booked agency ladies and didn't give a thought that it was illegal...and easy enough for police to set up stings to go after those who did have incalls or were agency ladies. The police are going to set their own enforcement priorities based on their budgets not PM There is no new resources allocated to police to enforce this new bill. To rescue the prostitutes who PM claims he want saved from us pervs, twenty million is pathetic, actually a disgrace, and considering his speech, he should hang his head in shame instead of acting morally superior. It isn't even enough to even set up the bureaucracy needed to allocate funds to save the ladies All PM cared about was getting Bedford/SCC case closed, and doing so in a way that appeased the Conservatives political constituency. For those who are going to stop if this bill becomes law well everyone needs to do what is comfortable for them But enforcement costs money, with no new money coming, how are police going to enforce this law the way some think they will RG
-
1 pointI was thinking something similar earlier today. While it's all well and good to stick to established SPs as some have suggested, if one of those SPs were to be investigated and LE gets access to a client list or correspondence pertaining to engaging in the hobby, you could still get nailed, unfortunately.
-
1 pointIf the Nordic Model becomes a law, I will be waiting for all those who say it won't change a thing because of budget restrictions and stuff, to test out how things are. The way I see it, this just gives the police more powers that it doesn't need. Piss one of them off, they go snooping around to see if there is anything that they can use on you. An SP getting caught for violating the bizarre proposed rules (or some other trumped out charge), they pressure her into sharing correspondences for something favourable. There are many possibilities that are running through my mind, and I may be more scared then I need to be, but seeing how I have according to many medical journals, more life ahead of me then behind, I'd rather not continue the rest of my life with the threat like this over my head.

1 pointI think Benedet is reading into it, for the purpose of disseminating misleading information in the way the Rescue Industry abolitionists are famous for. She and McKay seem to be the only ones quoted or interviewed in any recent article to suggest that criminalizing the purchase has any hope of passing an SCC scrutiny. It's wishful thinking on her part I think. Additional Comments: Here is a litany of things that exploiters can be charged with, using the current set of laws. Just in case you have a debate with any abolitionists who claim that c-36 is the only solution to stopping those who would force unwilling and underage people into work. If anyone tells you we need new laws, and that C-36 is going to fix 'everything', here are the current charges against this group. Now tell me, anyone, if this is an insufficient list to cover all the major issues that any abolitionist has with the sex trade: http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/newsreleases/29315 As a result of the executed search warrants, the following people have been arrested and charged: Shanicka Providence, 18, of Toronto 1) Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence 2) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years 3) Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons 4) Forcible Confinement 5) Procure to become a Prostitute 6) Exercise Control 7) Living on the Avails of Juvenile Prostitution 8) Uttering Threats 9) Assault 10) Telecommunication Agreement to Commit Specific Criminal Offences Young Person, 17, of Toronto 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years 2) Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons 3) Procure to become a Prostitute 4) Living on the Avails of Juvenile Prostitution 5) Exercise Control 6) Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts) Tchello Whyte, 25, of Toronto 1) Possession of Child Pornography 2) Sexual Assault 3) Sexual Interference 4) Procure to become a Prostitute 5) Exercise Control 6) Make Child Pornography 7) Fail to Comply with Probation Order Alia Alexandra Abdellatif , 25, of Toronto 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years 2) Procure to become a Prostitute 3) Exercise Control 4) Make Child Pornography 5) Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possesses Child Pornography (two counts) 6) Possession of Child Pornography Young Person, 17, of Toronto 1) Procure to become a Prostitute 2) Fail to Comply with Probation Order (three counts) Markus Cole, 20, of Toronto 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years Young Person, 17, of Toronto 1) Procure to become a Prostitute Anthony Talbert, 21, of Toronto 1) Sexual Assault 2) Assault 3) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years 4) Fail to Comply Recognizance 5) Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons 6) Procure to become a Prostitute 7) Living on the Avails of Juvenile Prostitution 8) Exercise Control Warrants have been issued for the arrest of the following people: Darren Letts, 22, of Toronto 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years 2) Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons 3) Procure to become a Prostitute 4) Living on the Avails of Juvenile Prostitution 5) Exercise Control 6) Sexual Assault 7) Sexual Interference Jason Bartley, 19, of Toronto 1) Living on the Avails of Juvenile Prostitution 2) Import, Distribute, Sells or Possesses Child Pornography (four counts) 3) Possession of Child Pornography (two counts) 4) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years 5) Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons 6) Procure to become a Prostitute Brian MacKenzie, 22, of Toronto 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years 2) Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons 3) Procure to become a Prostitute 4) Living on the Avails of Juvenile Prostitution 5) Exercise Control 6) Uttering Threats 7) Forcible Confinement 8) Telecommunication Agreement to Commit Specific Criminal Offences 9) Fail to Comply with Probation Order 10) Make Child Pornography Kamille Fraser, 21, of Toronto 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age of 18 years 2) Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons 3) Procure to become a Prostitute 4) Living on the Avails of Juvenile Prostitution 5) Exercise Control 6) Forcible Confinement http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/newsreleases/29327 On Saturday, June 7, 2014, one of the outstanding Project Dove suspects surrendered to police at 43 Division. 1 pointI think what is being missed is the police could have done so under the old legislation. Just for example how many ladies for example advertise incalls, how many agencies advertise, both illegal btw. It wasn't targeted by LE with massive raids because it is both time and resource (money) demanding on police. With the possibility of low return, on their LE investment if that makes sense. I mean would you as a police chief sanction thousands of dollars to go after one SP and clients doing incalls and get out of it, maybe six months probation? Especially when for less dollars unmarked cruisers could drive by and target street prostitution. Or even cheaper, set up a lot of speed traps and actually ticket drivers and produce revenue for the city Government agencies, be they federal, provincial or municipal are all constrained by budgets...no new funding has been allocated to law enforcement to go after prostitution. And LE is a government agency or extension of the Government/State Yes the government had to play a moral high ground to appease it's constituents but really I believe they could have given a rat's a$$ about the issue to begin with. This was their solution to get Bedford and the SCC off their back so to speak. Proof of how much they really care. Only twenty million for all of Canada to "save" prostitutes...if PM really believed what he preached, that amount, well he should hang his head in shame, that's not going to help anyone. No money or resources allocated to law enforcement. And each police department sets it own priorities with the resources it has It isn't just what the bill says, it also matters what the government will do to enforce that new bill...and that is not much of anything Just my opinion RG
-
1 pointI agree with you guys. From my experience, some gents like to spend me a pic when they contact me for the first time, and although it is not necessary, I appreciate the thought. I like to have an idea of who I'm going to meet and it's a good way to make both parties more comfortable. And like PistolPete said, it shows trust, honesty and friendship. This said, It can also be a great way to build up physical tension and spice up things.... If there's chemistry and once trust is established, I like to find ways to build up sexual tension before our encounter... So, when done properly, I'm open to things like sexting & receiving pics. Sometimes it makes me smile, sometimes it can be a turn on, especially if we are exchanging about our fantasies/turn ons at the same time. I guess I like to be adventurous and I'm always looking for ways to be naughty lol ;-). Kisses!

1 pointI appreciate the spirit behind your post and the time you took to write it. I certainly hope you all treat the people who serve your morning coffee, deliver your paper, clean your house, fix your car, cook your lunch, shine your shoes, serve your dinner, clean your teeth, wax your body hair, prepare your prescription, scrub your toilet, ring through your grocery purchases and dry clean your suits the exact same way. Sex work is real work and although we certainly deserve compassion, respect and consideration, we don't require it any more than any other working person you encounter during your day. It's the separation of us as "special" that often perpetuates the notion that we require "special" considerations, that we need "special" accommodations, that we simply aren't like everyone else. Well we are.
-
1 pointYou know what it all comes down to personal preference. Why is it when this comes up we are automatically judged a bigot, racist or whatever else. Truthfully I applause these women, at least they are open about it and let it be known up front then not opening the door when the gentleman arrives. Which would you prefer? I for one have been called everything but a white guy because I refuse this dancer's offer to go to back room. After she finished calling me a racist I asked an I racist to the white women I turned away as well. So if that makes me a racist a bigot then so be it, but don't judge someone for being up front about their likes and dislikes. This racism stuff has gone too far in my opinion.
-
1 pointI'm going to say it. STUPIDITY. Especially this week. There are far too many people speaking from an opening that is not their mouth... and most of those are the doom and gloomers. Think of solutions. When you give up and publicly announce that there is no hope, you become part of the problem. So... if you have given up hope, please... ummm... shut the fuck up. Your "sky is falling" bullshit is NOT HELPING.

1 pointHere is a great breakdown from Pivot Legal: http://www.pivotlegal.org/the_new_se...tion_explained This is a PROPOSED bill. It still needs to pass through several readings and stages before it can become law. http://www.parl.gc.ca/LEGISinfo/Faq....E&Mode=1#ID0EQ
-
1 pointIt is business as usual until such a time the bill goes to a vote. If it passes there, then it is law and in place potentially to be struck down by the SCC. At this point it is just another fight in the long line of fighting for rights. Carry as as you have been.
-
1 pointOMG stop with the fear mongering!!! Seriously... Independents can advertise for their own sexual services without prosecution. Sheesh!!!!
-
1 pointI am so sad for my girl:( She is not ready for INDY work, just before meeting her she had thoughts of going to a big city and with no credit card to book hotel etc...she was tempted to street walk! I saved her by bringing her in and teaching her how to work safely. Now I fear I will not be able to help her and many others that may have come my way! This is a sad day for any reputable agent:( I am looking at ways to evolve into a co-op, where as everyone just pays a percentage of expenses, but not sure if that will be considered as " benefiting of others" . I will need my lawyer to help me on this. Maybe I will be consultant instead?? hahaha I will focus a lot of time to making sure she knows her rights and how to work safe, I just hope I can teach her everything she needs to know to stay safe and healthy! BOOOOO!!!!!
-
1 pointIf they are advertising their own sexual services they won't be prosecuted anyway. So what difference does it make?
