The role of Senate hearings may appear to be a further investigation into "facts" of the matter however their primary role is in looking at wording and grammar and legal/parliamentary language of the bill. In THEORY the Senate has the power to defeat a bill but in reality it cannot happen as it would cause a constitutional crisis as these are unelected officials. I expect that the hearings will be a farce, as were the hearings at the Justice Committee. It is clear that logic and sound argument will be ignored and the people that deliver the sex workers message will continue to be ignored and ridiculed. This is now in the hands of the political system. The ONLY way that this bill can be tossed out is for witnesses to throw away their logic and sound studies and use their time to call out the evangelicals and the Tory puppets to a degree that it will force news and media to look at this legislation. The public has no idea of the implications of this legislation. Anti Bill C-36 witnesses should use shock value or boycott the hearings entirely, because to appear with their message only empowers government to say that they have in fact listened and gives Conservatives validity. My two cents worth.

That was what I thought as well... the thing is, I've been in a few pretty messed up relationships. Then, when something happens that reminds you of the past, you may begin to think that you're still living in it. In any case, I decided to back peddle a bit and incorporate the good advice given here into my approach (thank-you all for contributing!) Perhaps you can share what your budget is and some people can help you from there. One option to consider is going for a half hour (if you haven't thought of this). My only recommendation is since you mentioned money is tight, and you find something unusually low, just exercise caution. With your hard earned money, the last thing you need is a bait and switch. I would recommend waiting longer to save up ensuring that when you do see someone, it is well worth it. I don't mean to be a dick but your priorities are completely out of sync. If you don't have the money to get massages, do not get massages. This industry is does not provide things that you need to survive, it provides things you want. It is supported off clients disposable income, if you don't have the disposable part, please use it on things you need, not things you want. Save up until you can afford it, don't lose self-respect and ask for handouts. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being very important....6-7. To me, you are over reacting and coming up with far fetched scenarios, but i am basing that on what you posted. You are in the middle of a conversation and it stops suddenly, not with you saying something off base and her saying, ok, bye, just mid way? Or you were having a conversation that came to its natural end and you end the conversation with a 'see you later'. One thing is not like the other. The first example tells me that her phone died, she might not have another one yet, and/or she might not have your number anywhere else to call you from a different line. But I'd phrase the question above differently. I don't actually expect the church to satisfy *everyone's* needs; but I do require it to be true to its own philosophy. If a religion's core philosophy is to care for the weak and powerless, to value love over power, and to be in the community and amongst the people... then it needs to exemplify that, especially in its "home base" buildings. Turning away someone who needs shelter from the rain is a failure as measured by the church's own rules. And once you're not true to your philosophy, but instead they're just vague principles you discard when it's inconvenient, then... well, okay. Now you're just a fancy clubhouse with some odd interior decoration. Forfeit your tax exemption and go into business like everyone else.

From what you say, it sounds to me like maybe things were a bit too rushed. She may have had second thoughts. Doesn't mean it's over, she may just need some time to reconsider.

I've no advice that isn't a cliche, but just want to acknowledge that's rough. It's one thing for a promising relationship to (possibly) end, but to not know why or what's going on is a hard thing to swallow and makes it so much harder to know what to feel or, if it's come to it, move past. I hope you get your answers, and that maybe they turn out to be happy ones and it still works out. If not, then I hope you manage to put it behind you and find better luck elsewhere.

I find the other prairie erb board to be a bit ridiculous, an SP can't even comment on there unless they are paid. I made a comment about a review I received (not self promotion, just responses to their concerns with service). Then other members made comments regarding their own experiences and they deleted everything. Just as this board only allows recommendations, the other board only allows paid SPs to speak their voice. Kind of ridiculous to me. All of my best clients are CERB guys ;) BP did not work well for me at all since most of the men, not all - but most are looking for everything and anything at the most cost effective price-and the bs filled text messages that follow-such an annoyance. You are not the only one who feels this way. You are not being picky or unreasonable because ultimately you have to do what is best for you. If it doesn't feel right then it means it's not for you. Always trust your instincts in this business. They never fail you. I feel the same way. Most here know of my dislike for BP. I've tried advertising there a few times and didn't like the clientele. Mostly low ballers, students who not want but expect a deal for 10 minutes. I have 20 year olds telling me my rates are too high and they can go get service for x amount as if they know everything.. Well why are they still talking to me? lol. I'm offering an experience, not a 5 minute bj that they seem to so desperately want. Then if I quote a rate for whatever length of time, they want to know the rate for a particular act. I'm an established SP. Granted, I'm not 20 years old but I believe that experience counts for something and some people appreciate that I take the time and effort for my clients. I'm sure there are some good SPs on BP but it's just not for me and I haven't had luck with it. The business has changed and while I have great regulars who appreciate spending quality time with me, I won't lie and say the thought of semi- retiring comes to mind. I don't like the direction the business has taken and I don't like being treated as though I'm someone who is a revolving door who just performs specific acts all day long. I see 1-2 clients a day since I have other things that pre-occupy my time. I have also moved over more into massage than escorting and it's something that I enjoy and that I'm good at. I am considering approaching that avenue in a professional manner. BP strikes me as one of those sites where some of the men (not all) who use the site as a get in and get out type transaction with minimal except for finishing to completion. Fast, quick and easy. It's just not there anymore and I'm not going to change how I conduct my business because people expect me to do 15 minute appts because other ladies are. That's their perogative and that's how they run their business. However, it doesn't mean that I have to just because someone else is doing it. The customer is not always right. For every 10 callers on BP, there was one decent client but in my experience that was also a long shot. I don't want to pay $12 USD EVERY SINGLE DAY to deal with some people who have no regard for me, that are rude, don't care for what I offer and only what is best for them. I've even had pimps try to contact me and other shady people trying to solicit their illegal business through the ladies on BP under the guise of being a client. I didn't sign up for that. There has to be a mutual respect and I certainly wasn't getting that vibe. I'd rather get a root canal 10 times over than deal with that. I can't tell you how many times I advertised on BP and wanted to rip my hair out that day. I have met many great clients on Cerb and there is more of an appreciation towards the service provider. And it's sad because most of what has been negatively said about sex workers regarding the new proposed legislation is in relation to sites like BP where it doesn't take much for someone to take a few pictures, with a cell phone number and call themselves a service provider. They don't take into consideration the community that is here and not some site where names and faces change on a regular basis.
