All ladies on Cerb are wonderful . What may appeal to you will not appeal to another . Personally I find it offensive to think that I might be thought of as " worth seeing ". Perhaps ask questions about your particular interests instead of trying to determine " worth ".

People have become so comfortable with the way business has been run over the past couple of decades that they don`t even realize that the bulk of these services are done under illegal conditions already. Every single time you are in an incall, regardless of where it is (hotel/condo/house/car) you are breaking the law. Every time you pay the front desk of a massage parlour before seeing the person providing the services, you are assisting someone in breaking the law (living off the avails, procuring). Every time you met an sp in public first, and have any sort of discussion about the time to come, and at the same time exchange the $$ (discreetly) in a public place, you are breaking the public solicitation laws. People who aren't contacting indy sps for outcalls only have been breaking the law every single time, but we are complacent and comfortable doing this because LE doesn't investigate or charge these things. It doesn't make them different from the proposed C36, and sps and clients will adapt to these new conditions under which they have to proceed. When i started it was under the impression that what i was doing was illegal. It took some research before i realized that prostitution is legal in Canada, and more that the discussion of rates and services in phone calls was also legal. I continue to get new clients who believe it is completely illegal, based on current laws, and the idea that solicitation charges have to do with sex work itself, and not simply the fact it is public communication that is the criminal act. So i'm in the 'stop the fear mongering' camp. I find it pointless to assume that any indy sp is going to be harassed by LE to give up the names and contact info of any client. The whole C36 is useless due to the fact that it's most important premise is that no sps are allowed to be touched by or threatened with criminal charges or threats by LE. All it takes is one overreaching LE to try, and the civil rights folks are all over them. For any guy who wants to proceed with fighting charges, I think it is obvious that Alan Young plans to take on the case, and do it pro bono.

Katherine's has been among my fondest experiences of the year 2014. :) Mature service providers are fantastic people. You can ask about what kind of SP you would prefer to see without disrespecting any of them.

You have to understand that massage attendents make their living on tips... and honestly if you are just looking for a massage... why not book a massage at one of the well stablished beauty spas or a massage therapist... why go to a massage/body rub parlour... what is the point...? unless you are going with the intention of getting more for less... rip off the attendent... The answer is yes... unfortunately I would not see you for just a massage because that wont pay my bills... food, mortgage, expenses... the answer is yes... you wont be liked at a massage parlor...

I have no troubles paying for a ticket. I would attend a west end social if there is transporation provided...cab are extremely expensive and taking a bus when you are all pretty up and heels is not really a fun experience, especially around rush hour

There is a lot of speculation and fear mongering going on about c36, and honestly, I think a lot of people are putting far too much energy into worrying about it now. We don't know what's going to happen. We don't know if the bill will pass, and if it does, how they are going to enforce it. Incalls have been illegal all this time, and people have not worried about it nearly as much as the fear I'm noticing now. Discretion goes two ways, folks. I, like many other companions, do not wish to draw attention to myself that might end badly. And, if this bill passes, I will be taking measures to protect my privacy, which may include more in-depth screening so that I can assure my current guests of their privacy as well. Let's not needlessly panic and throw accusations at people. I don't agree with the threat of outing clients, as much as I can understand that it comes from a place of well-deserved anger at the hypocrisy of some lawmakers and politicians.

With all due respect, Mrrnice2, how do you know these "tactics" have not been used in the past or are not currently being used without bill C-36 even being law yet? Sex workers have always been put in a very delicate situation because of the existing laws (including prior to the Bedford decision) and bill C-36 (amended or not), when it actually becomes law, will still have potential nefarious consequences for us, no matter what. And the government will be one step closer to its intended goal by having others making decisions for the ladies involved, thinking and rationalizing for them and taking away their own personal choice(s)!

Ottawa is a unique city, in that you can travel from downtown to the east or west ends of the city (depending on time of day) within 20minutes. Kanata area has a few Hotels from the Brookstreet to a Holiday Inn Express and others. If people are going out for dinner before the social Kanata Centrum area has numerous restaurants. I think you will always have people against the move, or trying to swing the location to their area. I believe firmly, that if the organizers state " we have found a new venue located in Ottawa' west end" your attendees will follow, let's face it, the socials for most attendees are for a good time and to meet and greet. From my personal opinion, I attended the Christmas social, and I thought the price was low already for admission that is why I contributed a gift card for VS as a door prize. So lifting the admission price another 15 bucks is minor especially if it's assisting others for a "designated driver " ;) As for ladies not showing up and I'm sure some with valid reasons I think you should ask for a ten spot to hold their place, and if the facility can hold a certain number ie 80 max use a formula of 35 gents 35 booked ladies and 10 more ladies, does the number of invitees need to be an even split? Let's face it more ladies the better right?? Anyways my thoughts on it.

I realize you are new to the board Sunman01 and am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you did not mean anything offensive by your wording but be advised I was taken back by it even before I read Katherine's well stated post. Just keep in mind that when we talk about respect we mean it as a full meal deal. Is is always to be displayed whether it be posts, private messages, emails, texts, enquirers, setting up a visit, punctuality, hygiene, courtesy, saying thank-you, understanding boundaries, discretion, everything. The ladies are great and they deserve our respect and appreciation. I am willing to pay I think is a great idea and having some sort of entertainment would be great.. specially being xmas time, make it a more special event. .. Also being xmas time transportation issue is even easier. . Operation red nose is available. .. u get to drive there n get driven back to your destination. . While helping a good cause.

I voted for the west end. You have indicated that the venue has advantages. Car pooling seems like a good option, maybe giving a break for the DD, or at that time of the year there's always Operation Red Nose. Cabs can be expensive, but hey it's Xmas and there's only one party like this every year. Unfortunately, the other problem of no shows is a far more difficult problem. I don't think a $10 charge is probably a sufficient deterrent. I would suggest making it very clear that they will be black listed for future socials unless they give a heads up so that other ladies have the opportunity to attend. I've got a few extra beds if anyone needs to crash.

I probably would not come if the social was in Kanata. I livd on the opposite side of the city and getting there would be a pain. At the most I would only attend one a year.. But that might be good lol As far as paying, I don't see shy issue with that. People in general, but especially in this industry, should know better than to no show.

I did some checking and discovered that CL flagging is being done by the CL computer. The word "escort" anywhere in the ad gets the ad flagged. There are also other CL rules that result in automatic flagging. Anyone want to venture what the other rules are? I have an obsessive flagger who is also an obsessive emailer. He keeps flagging any and all ads which pass the CL computer. However all of his flagging has made no difference at all. He has not managed to remove even a single ad that the CL computer actually posted. Since the flagging is being done entirely by computer, let's try to compile the rules that cause the flagging. This will help everyone and anyone who likes posting on CL.

I agree with the sentiments of others here. Fear mongering will manifest negativity and possibly a bad outcome. It is NOT an official law yet so lets try and not speculate something that hasn't even happened. Where there are laws, there will ALWAYS be loopholes. We will all adapt and adjust. Things will just be done a little bit differently. Despite what the government is proposing, we have all it had it very easy for a long, long time in comparison to other countries such as the USA. I look back and consider myself lucky that I've been able to the work the way I have. Instead of worrisome fear, why not discuss solutions if and when they do come into effect? I have many ideas that I plan to implement for myself and to ease clients fear of booking and much more of a higher need for discretion than ever. At least when and if it happens, we will be more prepared than feeling like deer caught in the headlights when it could become official. Embrace it instead of fearing it. Well, variety is the spice of life. Men can be fickle creatures, and I've even heard us be accused of having short attention spans. In a small market like ours, broadening your horizons to BP can literally quadruple your options in a given day/week/month. And there are some rare gems to be found on there if you keep your wits about you and invest in some due diligence. It's usually pretty easy to weed out the sketchy ones. I think it is fantastic that CERB admin had the wisdom to allow conversation about backpage and even links to ads - it helps us share information about those gems and helps us stay safe. Keep in mind: - Some great ladies from CERB also advertise there; - Just because someone is not on CERB doesn't mean they're not good; - Just because someone is on CERB does not automatically mean they're great.
