I wanted to take some time and go over some details with a few activists before I made this post so you can understand the inner workings of abolishment agencies, those who support and pushed for C-36 to be brought forth. There are two main groups of people that support C-36. As you may have guessed some are run by religious factions and funded by church organizations. I do believe (and this is if my memory serves me correctly) that MP Joy Smith attends a church that supports or funds a Human Trafficking organization and that's how she got involved in the whole pro abolishment issue. When I say religious factions, I'm referring to strong religious beliefs that are anti pretty much everything, extremists. The other group consists of man haters. They blame men for everything, so no real explanation is needed for that and they too are extremists. They get their funding from the government (under a couple of misled idealisms), churches, sexist domestic violence organizations, programs and misleading the public about their organization. One of the largest agencies that runs a "man hating" organization and partook in the hearings is based in Vancouver. So this is what they do, they usually troll anti-C36 organizations on news articles, university studies, boards etc, anywhere that is public and they can "refute" claims made by sexworkers. They troll and look for any kind of "disparaging information" on review boards and I know two rather large abolishment agencies that do this on a regular basis. They'll take snippets of information here and there and put it all together and there's their "evidence". So how you talk to and about sp's on review boards and with some people it's not so nice, is taken by them, conflated 10 times worse than what was posted and voila, there's their evidence. Words on review boards, very much matter and although people have the right to express their views, understand you're not dealing with people that "get" someone may say something out of context or because they're having a bad day or week, whatever, it's used against us on an extremist level. And well, again some people are just not so nice to women in general on review boards, we've all seen it at one point or another. This is how they come up with their statistics in a lot of cases; let's say you're a 25 year old service provider and happen to look very young, underage in fact. You will automatically get put on the child trafficking list, they'll go through craigslist, backpage and other ad sites and they will purposely look for ladies that look young. They will then purport that there are X amount of ladies that are child trafficked and pimped (btw in their minds everyone is pimped) but they'll push the agenda more so the younger ladies are pimped and trafficked. If you're a minority and in particular of Asian descent you're a triple whammy. So they take the X amount of young ladies and minorities (one of the bigger agencies that if I recall correctly, did stats for Somaly Mam used this particular method) times that by .39 and this is how they come up with their "guesstimates" of how many "children are being human trafficked" and how many "minorities are being trafficked" .. so understand that they have NO real statistics at all, they are all just guesstimates. Now .39 may not seem like a big number but believe me it turns into a real large number when they're all said and done. Now as you may have guessed if they conflate stats for young women and minorities they surely must conflate their human trafficking stories and you would be right about that. Somaly Mam has been one of the biggest perps where this is concerned (google her, there are literally hundreds of stories about her and the celebrities, news agencies and other media outlets that supported her and her cause, with ZERO research being done into her story). Oprah, Susan Sarandon are just a few of her supporters - ZERO research. She's walked on more red carpets than your A-list celebrity has. And you know what the excuse is for her actions? Who cares if she lied, she saved thousands of women and children. YES, this is the garbage being spewed to our members of parliament based on ZERO FACTUAL evidence. Chong Kim is another big perp in this arena, she made the movie Eden which won several awards at many film festivals and her story is just beginning to unravel by our supporters. Her story was supposedly based on "true" story, which is false. So not only do they lie about stats, they also lie about being human trafficked. I'll post some more information sometime tomorrow, so you get an idea of what we're up against and EVERY effort, petitions, online or off, is a good attempt at getting attention and this is what we need, ATTENTION is a valiant effort, don't disregard it, take action. BUT to truly defeat Bill C-36 in a lot of orgs beliefs is by unraveling truth about how human trafficking is a big fat lie for the most part (it is a problem, don't get me wrong, but conflation is the biggest problem) and how the perpetrators are an even bigger problem. Well, I'll throw my opinion in, and I hope I don't come off as bitter or rude! To touch on the part mentioned how it's so easy for women to have sex, no, I'm sorry, I completely disagree. Yes it is more easy to a certain extent, but why is that? Because there's a higher demand of men looking for sex, so the women have lots to choose from. Now why is that?! Well, to put it bluntly, we have to blame it on the patriarchy. But we'll get to that in a minute.. Men and women are taught at young ages very different things. Men are taught that they should be having sex, it's be all, end all in their lives, and they are praised for having it, lots of it! Women on the other hand(at least for the most part) are taught to save themselves, because if they sleep around, they loose a certain amount of their dignity(this is also a contributing factor as to why women selling sex is seen as so bad). We're taught not to sleep around or we'll be a whore, and who wants that?! So women are basically shamed into having the same carnal desires as men, so they decide to either supress them, or not care and live a fulfilling sexual life. Either way, they don't usually go looking for sex quite as much as men, since there still is that stigma and shame in the back of their mind. Another reason(not sure if I'm right or wrong with these, just spewing my ideas!) is this: for the most part, when men are choosing a provider, they at least usually try and find someone that is nice, caring, affectionate, etc. so it feels genuine to them. Men, in this sense, aren't just looking for a quick lay either, but something real, or that at least feels real. Women would be the same as well. For the most part, we don't run around screwing everything we can, we try to find someone who at least likes us before we sleep with them. This is why I have to disagree that it's so easy for women to have sex if they want it. If they're looking for really bad sex with someone they don't know and who probably doesn't even remember their first name, then yes, it's super easy! If they want to find someone to sleep with who at least slightly likes them, the odds slim down by A LOT. And if you can tell a really good story, they hone and train you and put you on the HT speaking circuit, all in the name of telling a great sob story and getting people to donate to their org. So they're exploiting people even further, but it doesn't matter, because you're not being paid for sex. I really do believe that most Sps do not want to come across as bitchy or lecturing clients, but sometimes it may appear so because we get frustrated with certain things. Fortunately the good ones do make up for the bad ones and in my case the so-called bad ones are in the minority. But I honestly believe that clear and concise communication is the key. In my experience when things have gone off the rails it's because something ended up getting lost via text, pm or email. This is why I personally prefer a voice call before confirming any appointment to make perfectly clear that all questions have been answered and protocol has been covered. I am not in any way criticizing any other providers' screening, but for me, there is no final confirmation unless I have spoken to them first. This has saved me (and would-be clients) valuable time. I have to remember, I may not be a good fit for that person, and if so, I tell them, and if they feel the same and tell me so, I try and not take it personally. In fact, I will gladly refer a client to another lady I feel may suit his preferences better, if he communicates in a clear, direct and polite manner. I do not pretend to speak for all providers, but I believe that most of us would like a potential client to review what's stated in our ad or site before contacting us, follow our protocol and be polite. Period! And ladies, to respond in a timely manner. Speaking for myself, remember, if you call, leave a vm or text me and I don't respond right away, and it's several hours, or day passes before I can get back to you, I will probably not respond unless you make it clear that I can. This is because I have no way of knowing whether you're still free to receive our text or call without compromising your privacy.

That was what I thought as well... the thing is, I've been in a few pretty messed up relationships. Then, when something happens that reminds you of the past, you may begin to think that you're still living in it. In any case, I decided to back peddle a bit and incorporate the good advice given here into my approach (thank-you all for contributing!) I sent her a text saying that I was hurt by the fact that I hadn't heard from her, but also that in the heat of the moment, I'd said some things on voice mail which I shouldn't have. Anyway, I still hadn't heard from her by late last night, so I decided to send one final text. To my surprise, she called me crying, saying that she had been completely stressed out about college starting up again, lack of sleep, the mess in her apartment, weight issues etc.. Personally I think she's gorgeous - perfectly proportioned IMHO, but I have a hard time convincing her of that for some reason. To me, you are over reacting and coming up with far fetched scenarios, but i am basing that on what you posted. You are in the middle of a conversation and it stops suddenly, not with you saying something off base and her saying, ok, bye, just mid way? Or you were having a conversation that came to its natural end and you end the conversation with a 'see you later'. One thing is not like the other. The first example tells me that her phone died, she might not have another one yet, and/or she might not have your number anywhere else to call you from a different line. Neither scenario or even your description of the relationship lead me to believe she dropped you like a hot potato. I don't want to ask how old you are, because it makes no sense that anyone over 18 would think that paying for a couple of meals is anything like taking you for a ride. if you go overboard, if you leave a bunch of messages or texts or anything that she gets later, you will regret it, believe me. Scale it back show some concern, what if she was in an accident, texting while driving, got mugged, fell down some stairs, or just can't pay her phone bill because she got set up in a bad plan and you and she have been cooing at each other with lengthy phone calls and texts she can't afford, and it may take days before she can make a payment to get her phone reconnected. When leaving a message, keep it brief and keep it simple. Don't leave a message asking if she thinks she wants to go slow, or stop seeing each other, or anything even remotely similar to that, or anything even remotely not just a concern that she is OK. ;)

If I may, and I'm sorry if I am overstepping my bounds with this.... Some girls get spooked if you push too hard, too fast. I'm not saying that this is the case here necessarily, but from what you have described, you may be pushing her to be "the one" before the relationship even got off the ground. It may be that you have come off as too eager, which sets off alarm bell for most. My best advice would be to give her a few days before trying to contact her again. Hopefully she will contact you in the mean time, but if not, be patient. When you do contact her, be casual, and don't be upset about her missing the date. She simply does not yet owe you explanations. The relationship is too new. If you do reconnect, don't try to be in constant contact with her all day every day. Give her some space and don't always sound like you are planning your futures together. Enjoy spending time with her now, and let the future fall where it will. Don't always be available either. From what you say, it sounds to me like maybe things were a bit too rushed. She may have had second thoughts. Doesn't mean it's over, she may just need some time to reconsider.

I've experienced this as well. I just tell them I don't do it. They don't get the fact that I offer an experience and I don't provide just "only services". We as SP are entitled to run business our own way but some guys will try to take the extra mile even if an SP is already providing lets say a certain amount of time or an only service. I just tell them there are plenty of other people out there who may provide what they want and say goodbye. It will be interesting to see how people who negotiate will be able to do this once new laws are passed. Stick to your guns. There are low ballers everywhere. We are not a restaurant, we are not tires, we are offering an encounter of an intimate nature and to me (and this is JMO and my opinion only in case anyone decides to twist my words again or infer that I'm insulting them) the experience of seeing an SP has gone by the way side. So this is the deal... (As I understand it) The "images" option at the top of the group is gone because I disabled it because it is completely pointless to the group. The only way to add pics to that specific area is by going through your albums. And because of CERB's "no genitals" rules, that is not possible. I thought that it would be okay if the images were uploaded to your private "Profile" album, which is visible to you and you ONLY, and then uploaded to the Private Invite only group, but this is not allowed, and will be penalized. (And I also received an infraction too). I did have a pic in that area yesterday which was approved, but I am assuming this was a mistake, as it has since been removed. I thought that this would be a good way for CERB ladies to add their naughty pics to the group and be able to highlight them from the others, because by just adding them to the feed, they get lost in the mix with all the other pics (as great as they are). But to be clear, this is not allowed. So, we can post x rated (including genitals) pics to the Private groups, but only if they are not in your albums, and you just link the image from another location (not CERB) to the posting area in the group, just like you would on a regular post on any other thread. Make sense? Also, Alexxxis' post is blank because it was a pic which was linked from her private profile album, which has since been removed. She can still post pics, as long as they are being linked from somewhere other than CERB (as discussed).
