A lady has the absolute right to choose who she is intimate with, irrespective of a clients race, creed, colour, religion, age, body size, hair/lack of it etc etc etc 2. Forcing a SP to be sexually intimate with a man she does not wish to be with is akin to a sexual assault. Doesn't no mean no...even if the reason is skin colour 3. Often ladies may have a BF/SO (some who may not know their GF/SO is an SP) who is for lack of a better phrase, part of a small ethnic group in her city, and seeing someone of the same ethnic group as a client could publically expose her to that small community where her profession as an SP could be discovered. Racism may not be the reason, it may be because of discretion and anonymity. 4. Yes maybe racism too. Not saying it doesn't happen. But that said what man would really want to see a woman who doesn't want to see him. There are many beautiful women out there that aren't racist and would love to spend time with a respectful gentleman of any ethnicity. That's just off the top of my head. I'll guarantee this thread will end up heated. I'm already feeling uncomfortable posting RG

It is government logic. Premise A: Govt plans to shut down all prostitution by eliminating all advertising (because they know that no ads means no sex workers). Premise B: Govt knows it will get flak from voters if they have any legislation that criminalizes anything done by any sex worker, including any self advertising (which includes standing on street corner) Conclusion by govt: create a law that will make criminals out of all Canadian advertising venues (online and paper advertising) if they accept money from any sex worker to publish her ads Results: sex workers will have no place that can legally accept her paying them to publish to her legal ads, therefore all prostitution will come to a screeching halt because no client will be able to find a sex worker. Ever. Solution: sps now write ads that do not advertise their sexual services. Advertising sites and papers happily can take her $$ to publish her ads. Clients benefit because they will also not be contacting/solicitating the services of sex workers for advertised sexual services, they will be contacting an escort for time/companionship services, or a massage provider for massage services. Side benefit: Govt happy because they are the first country in the world to eradicate and stop all sex work!! And we can tell, because there are no sp ads anymore. And sp ads are used to determine the number of underage sps (because their photos 'look' underage) or trafficked sps (because they 'traveled" from Ottawa to Toronto, therefore must be trafficked). Thus, all abolitionist groups will be out of work, nothing to see, nothing to do, no one to rescue.

It's not racism. It's personal preference for WHATEVER reason. This topic has been discussed before on cerb, most notably: http://cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=181140&highlight=blacks I am in no way speaking for everyone, but I have met some SPs who are will not see black clients, tell me the reason for doing so is their past/present boyfriends or handlers were black men and they don't see clients of the same race they date. I knew an Sp who was of another ethnicity who would not see clients of that ethnic group because she did not want to run into anyone she might know from her community. Sps provide an intimate service and are when it comes to our bodies, it's our rules. And we shouldn't have to explain ourselves to anyone.

Yes, I agree with Alexxxis. You took the words out of my mouth.lol. I would rather be discrete in exchanging communication with the client as she mentioned to keep the client safe. After all, aside from services, clients are paying for discretion. That is what I have always given them and will continue to do so. Why would I put my clients in jeopardy for the sake of being able to discuss certain things? I will cover them because these are my clients and how I make my living. The customer comes first in this situation. Pun intended!

And, the last time I checked, the sps are not waiting tables at a restaurant, where their contact with people is limited to talking to them, and putting a plate of food down in front of them. There isn't going to be human rights committees started up in order to force sps to service everyone who contacts them, because that is procuring/coercion/trafficking and will remain against the laws. So complain about it in an ad, or as an sp's particular policy all you wish, it won't get you in the door to see her if she has chosen this path. I happen to think that assuming an sp is racist because she has any such policy is prejudging her without having the knowledge or understanding of why she has the policy.

If they need to be spoon fed, they need to go back to preschool. Look at USA sites. How do they advertise. Take your cues from them. I am taking this opportunity to market myself the way I want. I no longer let clients make me put myself in a position of having to promise something I am not sure I want to provide. It's like the guy who wants daty, and shows up with a full blown beard that's stubble. It's not fun, and if I promised it ahead of time, how do I now say no? Guys that know me, know I'm a greedy slut to good daty, but if it's crappy, why would I want to continue? So, I've said it before. I'm not worried. I'm not the one who is in danger of being arrested. After a two-week hiatus, again stopped by 340 on a Saturday afternoon (10/25). Arrived about 3:30 and found the club to be fairly active although the crowd thinned out by about 5:00-5:30. A number of the recent Saturday afternoon regulars were present - Sasha, Paris, Brandi, Juicy (?) and the always breathtaking Jenny as well as a couple of darker-haired ladies not familiar to me. In general, I've found the Saturday afternoons when I've been in recently (during October) have been somewhat busier than I remember these afternoons being in the past.

I find that men from certain countries, particularly new immigrants from those certain countries, were not raised in a culture in which women are equal or highly valued or treated delicately. Which makes the job tougher than it already is. Ladies' screening processes are none of anybody's business, whether those screening processes would be deemed 'racist' or not by the general public.

I have work in this industry close to a decade I have seen some ladies in south clearly state no black...it's really hard to describe each situation I don't discriminate I see all background however recently I start to ask ethnicity and age to have a better sense of who I deal with I have canceled in middle of the session someone that was way too aggressive with a large equipment to be call racist..As funny as it sound I have date several guys of his ethnicity Knowing sometime ethnicity help me to be prepare to understand some behaviors You know as shocking as it can be fir some it's a lady preference ..some ladies choose to not see overweight men under 25 men.. As much as it sound like racism some ladies have a problem service black,Indian,Arab I don't .. However I can recognize that some of different nationality not all have different smell behaviors etc I personally decide to judge on each different person individually I see obese handicap person but I do expect them to be forward as different issue can arise.. As for asking ethnicity or age it just help me to know a bit what to expect ..of course by generalizing Lisbeth i know it sad that some escorts refuse a client base on his color but it's her decision her body and probably her lost.. I have met ladies that won't see different ethnicity yet they have a partner of different ethnicity .. I personally only discriminate arrogant not nice guys lol

One thing that came to mind as I am reading this is because of SP's having to be more creative in their writing and not actually talking about services, I think we may see more bookings for longer sessions. I could be totally wrong but it seems that if we, as clients, have to find out after we arrive, we may not be able to do those walk in 15 min or fast15 or whatever that I see in some ads. Of course, there are guys who just want a quick bang out there and don't care about anything else so maybe things won't change much. Personally, I like to have more time and enjoy myself. Even 1/2 hr sessions are too short for my liking but that's just me. When all is said and done, I do go back to reading and comprehension, though. Guys need to slow down and read the ads/websites thoroughly and develop the skill of reading between the lines. Learning how to pick out the subtle nuances of clever writing will go a long way to avoiding confusion, imo. And saying they don't have time or can't because they are on their I-phone is a total cop-out. People need to stop being lazy and maybe that is one good thing that could come out of this.

I have done a lot of reading on this bill C-36, and find it completely contradictory and confusing in wording. I have websites that will have to be totally revamped, and that is not the problem. I believe Fortunateone put this all too well, we as providers, will be impossible to find if this goes through. Companionship, in this instance, will have to go back to the ways of almost secrecy and mystery. Yes we can have pictures on our sites, but the chosen wording will be basically 'if you like what you see, come and find out'. Which is unfortunate. We as sp's quite often have no idea of who we are dealing with when engaging in a 'first meeting' with a new client. We don't know what you look like, what you are looking for, or if we as the provider will even have a sexual attraction to you. Clients are going to have to become diligent in being patient with providers as to which services will be available to them. As far as I am concerned, there are a lot of services that I offer, and only a few that I do not, but for providers that offer only a limited 'selection' of services, there will be the aire of mystery for the clients. They may not get what they want when contacting a provider, until the client is actually with the provider and finds out what is available. It seems to me that freedom of the press is taking a turn for the worst in this case. I am not free to say what I want in advertising.

Your advertising should reflect you and the more descriptive words the better. "Money is being exchanged for time or time and companionship". While I don't know what type of dates you offer, the following is a suggestion: Wild, adventurous and Intense could be used to describe a hot pse style date. Sensual, romantic, and gentle could be used for a gfe style date. Put the word safe anywhere in there and you have a safe gfe date. Basically a visually descriptive paragraph describing you and the time together, more is better in this case for what you write. It is about getting people to read between the lines, yet being clear so they get it. I suggest, start with the highlights about you and then get more visually descriptive as you start writing about the date you offer. Think about your best asset and go from there. I do not believe its racism, I do believe its preference, for whatever reason. I can certainly understand the ethnicity backgrounds and not wanting to run into someone 'accidentally' from ones own ethnic background in a small community of that ethnicity. It makes perfect sense to me. Providers that do not wish to see gentlemen from any particular ethnic group, no matter which group that may be, do most certainly have the right to choose. After all, gentlemen that seek our services as providers, are certainly free to not choose any one of us due to our ethnic background, or hair color, or physical appearance. If a provider is being rude about about it, then that is a discussion between the provider and gentleman, or actually, just don't communicate with that particular provider. Rudeness is not tolerated well in this business, in any form, from either provider nor client.

Thanks RG and I think I see what you're saying, but from what I've read of the bill this doesn't seem to be quite the case. The purchase of sex will indeed become illegal, but the sale of it will not be, at least in the case of an independent lady advertising her own services. There's a specific exemption that says no one will be prosecuted for "an advertisement of their own sexual services." That's why I was confused about why ladies would have to change their websites. I do get the idea that ladies making changes to 'companionship only' and such do protect clients. Though I wouldn't think someone would have to be too concerned talking with known and reputable ladies any more in the future than someone would be now who arranges an incall which is technically illegal. But yes, I can see how it might make a gent more comfortable and protected to make contact knowing they aren't technically asking for anything illegal. And not being to advertise or even be a member on places like Cerb (I do remember reading that now that you remind me) certainly make a compelling case to make the change. Honestly, I have no idea how common it is. There are a very few providers who put restrictions in their ads; there are a larger number who explicitly state that they don't discriminate based on race. As RG said, all providers have the same right as anyone else to reject anyone they don't want to get it on with, no matter how good or bad their reasons may be. But clients decide who to see or not see for all sorts of reasons, and there are probably quite a lot of us who find overt racism to be rather distasteful...

If you don't agree with those in power, you go to a re-education camp until you see the error of your ways. This is not a new idea, although I don't recall it happening in Canada before.

I know many members here do not use the chat feature. As one of the members who does I have witnessed a few things that IMO shouldn't be happening there and that probably have caused some of the members not using it anymore. Please when you read this keep in mind is not a rant or me trying to tell others what to do is more like a reminder to all of us and giving my point of view as well as suggesting things that may make a difference in the chat room. 1. Start and carry conversation politely. 2. Whisper or use private chat for specific questions, to book, etc. 3. This apply for sp's and hobbysts ... If you do not get what you were looking for from the person you are chatting with the ideal would be to have the courtesy to notify the other instead of just closing the window/leaving chat. 4. Guys I know you like to discuss about some of the ladies but what about trying to keep specific details private and perhaps whisper? Keep in mind whisper sometimes fails, I have been a victim of that a couple of times (ok more than that lol) 5. No arguing or trying to put someone in evidence in open chat or getting other users involved in a particular situation. When I first began as an escort there was none of this menu b.s. Clients were actually interested in the mystique surrounding the SP. Services were still important but was secondary. Most did their research on review boards and perhaps a few exchanges between a member who had seen the SP and the person wanting to meet her. Most SPs had websites and invested in themselves where marketing and advertising was concerned. This is where things have changed. As someone else mentioned many have become complacent with the fact that al they have to do is look up a classified ad where in a lot of cases it is all laid out. In the early days hobbyists took more time and invested in seeing an SP including paying higher fees. There were no singular acts or get in and get out service where services are heavily focused on. This is where things have changed. It is no longer about companionship for many. In a lot of respects and coming from a seasoned SP, without a menu SPs who are were used to having one are going to have to focus more on selling companionship and not so much the services they offer. We as SPs are literally going to be selling ourselves and not through the types of services we offer. Expect to invest more in website and advertising. I wanted to take some time and go over some details with a few activists before I made this post so you can understand the inner workings of abolishment agencies, those who support and pushed for C-36 to be brought forth. There are two main groups of people that support C-36. As you may have guessed some are run by religious factions and funded by church organizations. I do believe (and this is if my memory serves me correctly) that MP Joy Smith attends a church that supports or funds a Human Trafficking organization and that's how she got involved in the whole pro abolishment issue. When I say religious factions, I'm referring to strong religious beliefs that are anti pretty much everything, extremists. The other group consists of man haters. They blame men for everything, so no real explanation is needed for that and they too are extremists. They get their funding from the government (under a couple of misled idealisms), churches, sexist domestic violence organizations, programs and misleading the public about their organization. One of the largest agencies that runs a "man hating" organization and partook in the hearings is based in Vancouver. So this is what they do, they usually troll anti-C36 organizations on news articles, university studies, boards etc, anywhere that is public and they can "refute" claims made by sexworkers. They troll and look for any kind of "disparaging information" on review boards and I know two rather large abolishment agencies that do this on a regular basis. They'll take snippets of information here and there and put it all together and there's their "evidence". So how you talk to and about sp's on review boards and with some people it's not so nice, is taken by them, conflated 10 times worse than what was posted and voila, there's their evidence. Words on review boards, very much matter and although people have the right to express their views, understand you're not dealing with people that "get" someone may say something out of context or because they're having a bad day or week, whatever, it's used against us on an extremist level. And well, again some people are just not so nice to women in general on review boards, we've all seen it at one point or another. This is how they come up with their statistics in a lot of cases; let's say you're a 25 year old service provider and happen to look very young, underage in fact. You will automatically get put on the child trafficking list, they'll go through craigslist, backpage and other ad sites and they will purposely look for ladies that look young. They will then purport that there are X amount of ladies that are child trafficked and pimped (btw in their minds everyone is pimped) but they'll push the agenda more so the younger ladies are pimped and trafficked. If you're a minority and in particular of Asian descent you're a triple whammy. So they take the X amount of young ladies and minorities (one of the bigger agencies that if I recall correctly, did stats for Somaly Mam used this particular method) times that by .39 and this is how they come up with their "guesstimates" of how many "children are being human trafficked" and how many "minorities are being trafficked" .. so understand that they have NO real statistics at all, they are all just guesstimates. Now .39 may not seem like a big number but believe me it turns into a real large number when they're all said and done. Now as you may have guessed if they conflate stats for young women and minorities they surely must conflate their human trafficking stories and you would be right about that. Somaly Mam has been one of the biggest perps where this is concerned (google her, there are literally hundreds of stories about her and the celebrities, news agencies and other media outlets that supported her and her cause, with ZERO research being done into her story). Oprah, Susan Sarandon are just a few of her supporters - ZERO research. She's walked on more red carpets than your A-list celebrity has. And you know what the excuse is for her actions? Who cares if she lied, she saved thousands of women and children. YES, this is the garbage being spewed to our members of parliament based on ZERO FACTUAL evidence. Chong Kim is another big perp in this arena, she made the movie Eden which won several awards at many film festivals and her story is just beginning to unravel by our supporters. Her story was supposedly based on "true" story, which is false. So not only do they lie about stats, they also lie about being human trafficked. I'll post some more information sometime tomorrow, so you get an idea of what we're up against and EVERY effort, petitions, online or off, is a good attempt at getting attention and this is what we need, ATTENTION is a valiant effort, don't disregard it, take action. BUT to truly defeat Bill C-36 in a lot of orgs beliefs is by unraveling truth about how human trafficking is a big fat lie for the most part (it is a problem, don't get me wrong, but conflation is the biggest problem) and how the perpetrators are an even bigger problem. We should accept that this bill will be enacted and enforced as written. What we need to do now is discuss how to deal with it and preserve our ability to do what ever we want in a safe consensual manner. If done properly our response could even improve our encounters and eliminate the sludge that is occasionally experienced by both SP's and buyers. For clarity I don't support the new bill but I also don't think it will end this industry. Here are some initial thoughts: Advertising: We need to carefully examine the new law and change the way we communicate so as not to overtly contravene the law as written. There is no law against dating services of which there are many. If no price is established at this point then there is no selling involved. Encounters: Once in private we should discuss services and payment only after each party is comfortable of the situation. For established SP's and repeat encounters this will not be too difficult. For new encounters this places more emphasis on demonstrating each party are not law enforcement. CERB site: needs to change to not make it easy for law enforcement to place charges. Intent to commit an offence can be established by law enforcement by engaging on this site in a way that clearly establishes the intent to buy or sell services. We need a discussion forum on this NOW! before the bill is enacted to ensure we get our ducks in order.
