(Guys like to brag when they get something extra that was not advertised....) 2) People may start to try to CIRCUMVENT these words. This will get you SUSPENDED or BANNED as you could put the website in jeopardy. Good morning my Friends, Enemies, Countrymen I entered this land of Cerb in 2010, longer than some, but not as long as others. Through this time I have made some great Friends, wonderful relationships and fun / sassy encounters that I have fully enjoyed. If you are reading this, I am assuming you have previously read the ones on getting cancer (the fu....oops sorry mod, the bastard) and the ups and down, trials and tribulations (sounds like my sex life!!) over the past couple of years. Well the end is nigh. The objective is to be around for Super Bowl, to know what that is and not think it is a luxury, Japanese toilet. Although the surgery to the shoulder removed a good chunk of cancer cells from the bone and muscle, it ended up travelling to the cortex and continues to grab onto chunks of the brain (what little brain there is!). The chemo treatments, especially the experimental ones helped to delay, sometimes shrink the bastard but it still crept along. Memory has become a huge issue with holes as big as Ottawa's sink holes in the expressway, the gps has become my day to day companion when driving, starting to need one when walking! Thinking of wearing a sign around my neck along with my mittens with strings, that points to my house, or a bar that serves great single malt scotch. You know you are on the way out when the docs are arranging your next treatment when they say, "we will fit you in when convenient", not sure who it is convenient for...... Squirrel!!! sorry I wandered off for a bit Anyway, back to the Ladies of Cerb. Whether a MA or .., as previously stated, I have been lucky enough to enjoy a friendship and a kinship with and I am ever grateful. I love the banter, silliness, the heart to heart discussions some of us have had. The hugs, kisses and spanks (obviously mod, the spanks were for my birthday!) were always a treat. I have started to say good bye to a few of you that have been very special to me. Some in person, some by email or pm. I am sure I will miss some with this .... full of swiss cheese. Well, it's been building for a while now and only getting worse. I smell a witch hunt and the intensification of an us versus them attitude, where those who model and best emulate the most sanitized image of the 'Escort' and sometimes, the 'Hobbyist', get their precious brownie points while others, particularly the oh, so very bad and 'risky' workers get shit on. It's bad enough we are being censored to death here to survive. And, yes, it is a real challenge to adapt to this new legislative environment, but it brings things to violence when we have the finger pointing and goody two shoes bull that is going around about 'all those SPs' who are peddling their 'extras' and should really 'know better'...should really do more to not be so 'risky'... And, this messaging is being directed regarding workers in general discussions and not just those formally linked with CERB, but it's functioning in really damaging ways that do affect our Members here and this hurts the culture that people have worked so hard to make supportive and caring and progressively minded...what's going on is slut shaming and another term I don't even think I can use on here now. I've even had personal conversations with workers who were worried that other workers would be tricking them into providing a menu or discussing 'activities' over text and whatnot and that this would be used as a way of thinning the ranks and getting them kicked off of boards like this. Paranoid? I think not, especially given all of the nasty talk and the fear and uncertainty that has transpired in recent weeks...about how all of the change would be handled, about the level of censorship and the reach of control these changes would result in in terms of workers needing to alter their business models and online presences. Under the tyranny of fear and censorship, very lovable people are driven to engage in truly ugly behavior. I think it was a wise decision on the part of the board to make a distinction that those going on with advertising their extras in other places aren't automatically kicked off of CERB, so long as they are not linking their presences or posts here to those other spaces. Otherwise, I know we would have a worse rats nest than we already do now. Just because many of us felt compelled to adapt our business models and advertising practices to continue to try and thrive and provide the most comfort and assurance to our clients who are looking for that, does not give any of us the right to look down or direct hatefulness at those who are not towing the line. And, many of of us who have made these changes are carrying extra burdens and worries in greater isolation than before. There is a cost to sanitizing one's image...just as there is to becoming the Dudley and Dolly do rights who will be hurting their eyes and giving themselves calluses from hitting the report post button so much. [Yeah, there is a difference between reporting a post and becoming the post police or some resentful, makeshift Mod. I can read between the lines that this is happening.] And, for those of my colleagues who have acted as though they don't understand why others are so upset that they have to be censored and constrained in such a way because they've been doing it this way all along with no issues at all, you need to know you are in a minority and that the industry overall does not march to the beat of your drum...very invalidating and politically self-ingratiating behaviour. I see we are under constraints here and that people are fearful and frustrated, but let's really be honest with ourselves about the difference between adapting and surviving versus shitting on people and hyper fixating on their business practices....or, better yet, between playing along and drinking the Kool-Aid. Let's do more on the end of keeping this a supportive space. Besides, witches have more fun ;P

Tom, I had the honor of meeting you once in 2010 and had a great time. Although we dont know each other well as some others here, you have a been in my thoughts a lot as you continued to post your updates. I just wanted to say that you have been very strong at a time where others may have just given up altogether. I know you're hanging in there. It is my regret that I don't know you as well as others but you have been a great contributor to Cerb and please watch over all of us. I will toast in your favorite drink with a few of my close .. friends in your memory. Your memory will live on forever in our hearts and minds. I travel a lot, and some of the time I spend is in the US. For many happy years, there used to be a US-based forum named MyRedBook, and I advertised on it, chatted, posted on the forum, and met friends and prospects. One of the main mods became a personal friend and it was interesting for me to see things more from her perspective. She, with MyRedBook management, ran a tight ship, but there were nevertheless some blatant violations by members of the same lousy laws as we're concerned about here. Even though MyRedBook was officially based in the Seychelles it had a local-to-the-US team. Not that long ago, the FBI swooped in, arrested the MyRedBook folks and confiscated (government-speak for "stole") all the servers, which had both providers and clients concerned because all this could be used as "evidence" which made it a lousy bureaucrat's wet dream. I really hate laws like these, and the folks who enforce them with with gusto don't rate highly with me either. Much as I love the US, in so many ways Canadian society is a more thoughtful and benevolent version of whatever happens south of the US-Canada border, and so I am glad that the folks on CERB (mods, escorts, clients) are taking some very pro-active steps to make it less likely that what happened "down there" would happen here too. Certainly, the LE and government vibe is much nicer here, but still .. it's better to be safe than sorry. ~Tanya

Unfortunlay the system does not have the ability to censor NEW posts and not OLD ones so right now all the old posts have been automatically censored. It sucks and yes I am being over-aggressive right now in the words and abbreviations just cause I want cerb to comply with the laws so we can keep the site alive without having to relocate the company it to another country..

I will speak from my personal experiences, life and otherwise. I do see disabled clients. ( ie; wheelchairs & various forms of prosthesis, colostomy bags and those with fresh or healing tissues from major surgeries, I can go on ... ). If you are up front with the lady that you're looking to book an appointment with and let her know ahead of time, I'm sure it will not be an issue. It might be an issue if there is a chance of passing an infection, a surprise or she's just not comfortable or thinks that she may hurt you. Some people are more superficial than others and some people are more understanding than others but that's not just providers, that's just people in general. Myself, I am not concerned with the appearance of someone per se. What I want is a gentlemen who has taken the time to groom himself, shower, brush teeth and have respect for me and see me as a person. Best of luck with your search, I hope it works out for you! SD

I understand that there is new law, and I would point out that it is untested at this juncture. I'd like to make two points. The first issue is one of accountability, and here there are two people that are responsible for the content. The poster should and must take ultimate responsibility based on the rules of the board, and the board has some part, but I don't thing can be reasonably expected to police every word that gets published in the ads and posts. The second point is about the degree of paranoia about what is coming. It reminds me of the Quebec language laws and the well documented diligence and blunders made by their language police enforcing the sign laws. There may be some scrutiny of content by the authorities, but I can't see them drilling down to analyze content on a board like CERB on a word by word basis. That said, they may occasionally investigate on obviously objectionable ads, but I can't see them devoting their resources unless they get enough complaints.

It'll take a bit of time for CERB to iron out the kinks because of Harper's/MacKay's brave new world. None of us like it but I guess it's better than this community shutting down I think a big thank you is due to the Mod for his hard work keeping this community going while dodging the minefield from this legislation Just remember all this bs when we go to the polls next federal election A rambling RG

So basically what i am getting from the OP is that you feel that some members are reporting ..'s ads or sending mod info about their ads on other sites, in order to get them banned from using cerb. In a malicious way, of course, and you want these people to mind their own business. If that is what you are saying, i wholeheartedly agree. People are busybodies about other sps ads. i don't know where you are seeing these digs about sps advertising extras elsewhere tho. is it possible you are reading more into what you see? for example we are discussing the whole topic of advertising and what to include, what to exclude. to do this we use examples. From time to time, we may use an example of a site that allows more graphic ads, and wonder why, or maybe explain why they do. how do people know things if they don't discuss, and ask, and debate?

One thing to add to my previous statement is that while I understand having to remove certain terms from ads and recos because of this law, I am rather disturbed that many words/ terms have to be removed from our day to day conversations on our forums. It can sometimes take something away from the context. However, the way this law was written can confuse even some brilliant legal minds, let alone a bunch of average "joes" such as myself so we have to adapt and deal with it accordingly. I'm sure the legal council for the owners of the site have scoured every minute detail to protect the site from government and LE so I'll preview, edit or whatever I have to do in an effort to comply. Eventually, this will be just a blip on the radar, I hope.

Change is never easy... no matter how the MOD does this someone will think there is a better way or a way they would like better. Now don't get me wrong... i don't see anything wrong with the discussion as it might identify suggestions that are adopted and benefit everyone. What I would suggest is that we pause for a moment and ask ourselves is the comment i am going to make a positive input or a rant...is it a suggestion that is about process or is it a personal attack on others. As i read many of the posts on various threads I am struck with the level of stress and confusion and frustration that is being expressed and I can't help but think that Mr. Harper and his band of excessively right wing follower must be loving the level of rancor that they have caused everyone who participates in this industry. For me... I am pretty certain that we will find our way through the growing pains. I am going to continue to book "time" with the wonderful ladies of CERB and after my next meeting with a wonderful lady I will make a point of sitting down to draft a well worded recommendation that will meet both the legal requirements and the CERB wording requirements...will it be harder than in the past...yes of course because change is hard... hard but not impossible. Just my Opinion

It is sad that our government is systematically taking away our freedoms and freedom of speech is the one we are talking about here.I despise this as much as anyone, especially in the week that we honor so many who have sacrificed so much for these freedoms. However, we have to do what we must to "weather the storm" as it were. This is hard for all of us and we will need to keep our wits about us and work together. Being divided amongst ourselves only hurts us. Let's support the site and the mods in their attempt to keep this community alive and safe for us all. What I see in this community is a great many intelligent, thoughtful adults, not a bunch of squabbling teenagers so let's try to remain civil with each other and united even in the face of something designed to tear this all apart. We will prevail in the long run. I truly believe that even though I admit that it won't be easy. I did not join this site for some "penthouse letters" talking about all the positions and details. I joined here because it seemed to rise above that with class and dignity. Maybe I'm talking out of my butt here but I want this place to go on and remain as a beacon of how to engage in this hobby the "right" way.

The silent one has returned. Folks, let's make this simple. There is absolutely NO point in making a censored words list that is available to the general audience. Besides, if you use the "preview post" function, you will know what you can't say. (Thus the substitution of the words "business operator.") We are all adults. We all know what double entendre is about. Unfortunately, so does the powers that be. You don't discuss any SPECIFIC activity in regard to actions between a client and a business operator. A recommendation? "I had a lovely evening with Madame X. She looked fantastic and we enjoyed our time together immensely. I look forward to future meetings." Pretty frickin' simple. The general discussion area will be a minefield for the time being BUT it will get better. Again, avoid using specifics in regard to the business. There is all sorts of sexy talk that can be had - it's conducted on all sorts of venues, not just escort sites. PMs? Use your brains people. That is the kind of stuff that CAN BE subpoenaed for disclosure. Communication for the purposes of prostitution is what everyone needs to avoid. PMs are to arrange meetings. CERB is a community that has to operate above board. If you don't like the rules, pack your bags and find a site that suits your sense of danger. Now... back to being an enigma.....

I look forward to that censor list being posted as I find the word muncher baffling. I just did a test (using preview as suggested) and discovered some pretty innocuous words being deleted. Particularly puzzling was discovering that the name of that notorious Bill is banned. How is this board to engage in a healthy discussion about the state of the industry if The Bill can't be explicitly mentioned? I understand the Mod's job is tough right now and I respect the effort being put into it, but I'm also a bit surprised at the degree of caution being exercised here.

So instead of standing up for the rights of our community, CERB has bent over, spread it's cheeks, and eagerly accepted everything the government rams into us. It would have been a much simpler thing to move to an off-shore server to avoid all this, but your push for "conformity" reminds me of the oppressed throughout history. "Disappointment" does not adequately describe my feelings about this.

Personally, I am of the mind that words are just that....words. I respect both Nicolette and Kathryn in their ideals but quite frankly what I think of myself is the ONLY thing that matters to me! That's your opinion and your construct on what a "slut" is. For others, it can mean something entirely different, and they identify as a slut while providing paid companionship. I totally understand that the idea of the line-up seems awesome. You choose the woman who seems the most attractive to you. I do not know why but I would feel really guilty about doing that. I would feel like I was being harsh because it is a face-to-face encounter. "I want you but definitely not you." LOL. Maybe, I am polite in a situation where I do not need to be polite.
