This topic has been discussed before in other threads. I don't think Terri Jean Bedford's comments to the Senate are representative of what most of us are thinking or willing to do. The bottom line is that no established companion would risk their reputation to do something like this. There is no end reward for them and would basically be business suicide.

The VERY FIRST adult discussion website in Canada (at least that I know of) that had info on escorts was created by no other then "Joyful Spirit" (A member here who use to go by the name "LYLA" and she built the website and was a pioneer for online escorts in Canada). The site was LYLA.COM and was affectionately known as "Lyla's List". It also displayed ads for Escorts-Canada.com and when LYLA wanted to retire the site she passed the domain name on to the owners of escorts-canada.com. They (EC) continued lyla's list for a few years but when the SPONLY area on LYLA.COM at the time known as demimonde was taken over by some of the ladies and failed miserably and the discussion board part was hacked bad due to a old bbs system that was full of security holes the discussion element of the site and the sponly area of the site were put onto the back burner. The lyla.com site stayed active but only to display ads for escorts-canada (without a discussion element) instead we created a separate site cerb.ca to start from scratch. So... We are bringing back LYLA.COM as we need a NON CANADIAN DOMAIN NAME for this site. WHY?? Basically we do not trust the Canadian powers that be, with these new laws it's only a matter of time when our compliance is not good enough so this way we have a .COM domain name (canada does not have any governing body over .com only .ca) so we felt this needed to happen sooner then later. BUT... love you like a sister is a most excellent modern day urban take on the name! We should adapt that as this community has always been about watching each others backs, helping the ladies stay safe and all around positive side of the adult industry. Since we are sisters and brothers and we now have all those annoying DOT.DOT.DOT censors all around us maybe we should use "Love You Like A ..." as the name! ;)

Well I have been pretty well MIA for about five weeks I believe and it had not a thing to do with the new foolish laws coming into play or reconsidering things. It had everything to do with being sick. The first few days I thought it was a flu - well, nope. Some sort of virus that knocked me for a serious loop! I had to go back and read this whole thread again to see what I missed. It seems the "terms of endearment" are maybe 70% against ( I didn't count, just guessing). Never would have realized that some people are so turned off by that but hey, it's all cool. It's funny when the comments from ladies from Newfoundland and some other places don't even realize they are using those terms. It's just part of their day to day vocabulary. I've been to the southern and mid-west states some and boy, you wanna talk about the "huns" and "darlins" and "sweeties", lol. I think even a few of the guys use the terms there. :smile:. The one thing I would add to my earlier contribution is the "time" factor. It's been mentioned but if I book an hour or 90 minutes or whatever, that is my time and mine alone except for emergencies or obviously some bad behavior on my part (something that would never happen, I assure you). So what if I'm a bit early on the delivery or having a rough day, performance wise. The remainder of the time can be spent in conversation or even just laying there in each others arms gazing into each others eyes. Getting up and grabbing the phone to check messages or worse, texting your friend or sister or whatever is a big no-no. If/when that happens, I get dressed and leave and a repeat visit is not going to happen. I just cut my losses. And to add to that note, to the guys, when you text one of the ladies and she doesn't answer in 5, 10 mins, whatever, don't keep texting and texting. Personally I keep very few actual friends, though I am very close with them, I don't want a large circle of friends. Now I do have countless acquaintances whom I do enjoy seeing, but have no desire to allow deeper in to my personal life. As for cyber friendship, that has zero meaning to me. I saw many cars spun out and car accidents over the last couple of days because of the snow, that was 5 hours well spent. Just saying. Have a big day ahead so got to bed early. Fell asleep fast and now awake after the usual number of hours of sleep. I'm still tired but can't get back to sleep...

well not sure if im following this thread properly, but I must say that whenever the new laws come into effect, it wont change very much about my hobbying. over the last few years being here ive met a lot of great people (SP's & MA's). also a few hobbyist as well ive been able to keep the frenships ongoing, and most likely will continue to see them, as ive asked several of them if anything will change, and most said nothing will change. chances are I wont be seeing anyone "new" to this industry, but the ones that have been here for sometime I will continue to see them, as long as our schedules meet of course!

Just to clarify I moved on to other reasons that had nothing to do with the fact her pictures were old. Its a fact , especially at a young age , people can improve their looks over time. So with that said I'm a little puzzled how your comment about guys looking for the " awesome deal " or " awesome lady " for a lesser donation ties into this thread. I agree that for the most part quality comes at a premium but it doesn't always guarantee a good encounter. On the flip side of that there are wonderful SP's that offer excellent service at "Payless " rates. Its the old theory of supply and demand . Not all of us are doctors and lawyers and I appreciate the fact there is that variety. That's part of the excitement of meeting someone new.

hmmm where to start. I agree that you don't need official designated days to recognize the loved ones in your life (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Family Day ....) but I do love taking the time, buying the mushy card and setting aside the day to cherish loved ones. I find that life is sooo busy and goes by so fast that if I did not have these days in my calendar I might not take the time to cook a special meal for my mom, or take my dad fishing, or spend time with my family. Right now it is the expression and excitement in my 8 year old daughter that makes these days special. To see her face on Christmas or watch her make homemade Valentines cards for the kids in her class or best when she comes home and gives me the card that she spent all afternoon making - melts my heart. Ya, the stores and malls are full of crap and they want to sell you stuff but it is those special moments that make the days. I have had my ups and downs, divorce, death in family etc so I have come to realize life is short and you should enjoy life to the fullest as best you can!

I can see both sides of the coin for Valentines Day. For the people into all the mushy, smoooshy, tooooossshy, stuff, I can understand why they love it. All the power to them. Nothing wrong with that. I just am not a huge fan of it bc.... It makes most (not all) of the single people feel like crap because they don't have anybody. And it's a day that is a reminder that they are alone (which isn't wrong). Then all day long it's just thrown in their face with people getting flowers, bears, chocolates, etc. Then for the people who are just starting relationships. It can put tremendous amount of pressure on them to live up to crazy unattainable expectations on a day, when instead they should be just be enjoying the best time of a relationship, "the honeymoon stage", when they should be all around each other 24/7, kissing each other every second, texting, calling, whatever floats your boat, basically just enjoying the this is fucking awesome stage. But anyways, yeah for this Valentines Day, I'll be single, as I just got out of a relationship a couple weeks ago. You won't see me being sad tho, lol. My friend Kate, also just got out of a relationship, so we'll be celebrating Valentines Day together, no, not at Juniper, Beckta, Vittoria Trattoria, but we'll be getting our drank on at the Manx drinking apricot beers (which are amazing), and eating some amazing apps from there. The point of the last paragraph, is just that don't do something on V-Day, because it's V-Day, just do something that makes you happy. Whether that's drinking at a tiny bar in Ottawa (like lame ass me), or watching the hockey game, using crayons in a colouring book, dancing to LMFAO, or whatever makes your frown upside down, just do you, and that is what is important. I don't know, just in my opinion, not saying it's right, just my opinion, Valentines Day is just a day that never lives up to the hype (much like New Year's Eve). I find the best days are the ones that aren't planned, and just kinda spontaneously combust to awesome-sauce.

When I was younger, I loved it. The smushy romance, love, and the idea of perfect love... .. now? It smacks of consumerist BS, and I wait until the next day to get the chocolates I like on sale. If I love you, you will know all year round, and Valentines isn't the day I'll tell you. Moreover, I don't need diamonds, dying flowers and chocolate to know that you love me! For years my ex-hubs and I called it Singles Awareness Day b/c it's the only day of the year that you are PAINFULLY aware if you are the least bit lonely!
