itd131, I have to say I'm not really sure what your point is here. Your original point was that under the new laws, spas were just too risky... and certainly moreso than they were before. Your last post gives us a very good summary of how spas have evolved to become more widespread and to offer more varied and higher quality services, and how they've perhaps become a little less discreet in their advertizing... and how all this happened prior to the Bedford SCC ruling last year, when both MAs and clients risked being hit with the bawdy-house law, and the spa itself risked being hit with living off the avails too. So far, so good. What you haven't explained is how the new legal environment is any worse for us, as clients. Sure, paying for a sexual service is illegal... but I think that's no worse than the previous bawdy-house law, and it's a lot harder to prove. They'd have to demonstrate that you actually handed money over *and* received a sexual service, which is a lot harder than just proving you were in a particular place. And for the spas and MAs... sure, the new advertizing rules suck, but people seem to be working around that reasonably well, and the new laws aimed at pimping are a *lot* less restrictive than the old living-off-the-avails law was. So... why the panic? I know damn well that the new laws have been written to intimidate, but there isn't actually any rational reason to let them succeed. And quite apart from the law as it stands at any given time, the really significant factor in all this is local LE and what they may or may not choose to do. They had tools to persecute people under the old laws; they have tools to persecute people under the new ones. But their desire to actually do anything is generally driven by local factors, not by anything that happens in Parliament.

The issue is not only if the guy asks for sexual services.... it is also if the lady OFFERS a sexual service and the guy agree's. It is legal to hire a "Escort" (someone who is paid to spend time with) it could be a escort to a social event, a escort to a high school reunion, a dinner date, or just someone to cuddle up and watch a movie with... it is also as far as I know legal to offer private exotic dance, stag dancers, private lingeria shows etc...

Amity has been around for a long time. I have no personal experience, but there are several reviews. Amity had another name before Denni or Deni, or maybe with a "y". You should be able to find videos under that name.

There is extensive discussion about Amity on the forum devoted to TS girls. On a lady I like it, bush is the new bald. Mind you that I love that area of a ladies body bush or bald or shaved anyway. On me, I prefer shaved, I notice that I grow 2 inches longer without hair in that area, I wonder why?

So many people now don't want to do anything if it involves effort. Two of my nephews have had three marriages! No commitment at all. The real tragedy is the young children that feel abandoned by their lazy self indulgent fathers. Both those nephews I have completely written off and ignore. They still ask for money though. Their brother has a steady marriage, almost twenty years, three terrific children, a wonderful wife and a very good job. Same parents, same upbringing, completely different ideas about responsibility. Makes you wonder eh? A couple of co workers were stuck working to 65 because of divorce. Two retired with nothing except a rusted out car and a bachelor suite, and half a pension. They don't accept any responsibility and blame everything on their wives. But I knew these guys for decades, I know they spent most of their time and money drinking at the bar and hitting on everything they could. After paying no attention to their wives and kids for twenty years they are shocked when the wife kicks them out. I went shopping with a girl the other day. We had a great time together. When I mentioned it to one guy he said I must be gay. This is a more common attitude than anyone wants to admit.

From my experience, and have traveled extensively through out Canada as a dancer from 1993-1999, you are correct that there is no history of a client getting any issues from dances. Now each city and bar had their own rules. But it was always up to the bouncers that work there to keep it "clean" . In 1993, when I began to dance, we had agents. I had to have a portfolio like a model, we had had to audition for a place in the agency, we also had proper paychecks that we paid taxes on. Once it became freelance dance, things changed greatly. This was about 1996. It was a very different structure. Now in 2008, I know a bar owner near my home town, who got busted for having "known" solicitation in his bar. Even though he did not really know this, it was said for the fact she was on line advertising it. He lost his liquor license for 8 months I think. Now he scrolls the pages to see if any of his entertainers are advertising it. At the end of the day, it is the business owners that hold the fall out. As for agency/spa work, I feel it is the same deal. I also had to revamp my business model. I am no longer an agent that represents or advertises, nor do I book. I truly feel that each person has to book legally, smartly and within guidelines of the law. But one aspect to spa environment some people may miss is that even before this Bill, no "extra" was ever talked about, and never in hall ways of the establishment. That way it was never public solicitation, nor did the owners ever have to be in knowledge of. ( behind closed doors) If the owners of the establishment did not know, or advertise or have proof of, the even the words " living off avails" could not apply same as "material benefit" AS LONG AS NO ONE ADVERTISES IT OR COMMITS TO IT OR ENQUIRES. The best thing is to go to reputable locations, agencies and INDY that are complying to the guidelines:) Any ways, I know there are many ways to think of this, perhaps I am wrong, maybe right. I am not married and have no children but have been with the same woman for more than 25 years. We have an annual review where we set a time to talk about us and how we're doing, plan vacations and review finances, RRSP's etc. It's work well for us. Once you go through the loss of parents and friends and mourn together you become bonded in a different way. Sometimes the grass might look greener but you're too old to try and jump that fence and you've learned that when the going got tough neither one cut and ran and that means a lot. Peace MG

I am married... yes we have major problems in our marriage... not things that I would blame on either of us... life happens... issues arise some we are equipped to deal with some we are not... do I love my wife less than 30 ago certainly not... she is the most important woman in my life... the mother of my children... my soul mate and only true love of my life. Well I was born in 1961 and raised with the idea marriage was till death do us part. My take on it, it was rare to find anyone divorced/separated when I was growing up. For better or worse meant even in bad times, you stayed together, worked through the bad times together. But it has become easier and less of a stigma to get divorced. Marriage seems a disposable institution...death do us part means split when we get tired of one another, and want to see if the grass is greener elsewhere But lets not spend a lot of effort working out problems For what it's worth RG

I don't want to sound too pessimistic (or simply realistic?) but I am surprised that the institution of marriage even still exists. All I heard about in my life was not about how being married makes for a wonderful and loving partnership/family for a lifetime. I have seen and heard a lot of sadness and unhappiness, and still do. Family, friends etc...There are a lot of singles out there, of any generation, and the number is growing. It is a social epidemic. Whatever the problem is, it is not a contract that will guarantee anything. Whatever the conditions are (and everybody can make up their conditions. Why not creating a new trend with marriage contracts where partners state on a paper all their specific rules, duration for this contract etc... before they say yes? We can be very creative about it if we open this door). But the real problem is this awful and painful incapacity for the big majority of people today to find partners because we do not know how to love each other anymore, we do not know how to commit to a relationship. And it is not necessarily our fault, it is not my point. Many changes in our Western society in the last 60 years have deeply impacted the dynamic for couples - especially between men and women - that force us to reinvent loving relationships/committed partnerships. And it will take some time for us to figure this out as a society, and as individuals. Hypothetically, everybody is ''free'' now. The question is: when we are two, how do we manage this freedom?

I will take a man that's not conventionally attractive and sweet than a gorgeous jerk every single day of the week. And I honestly think most of us are the same. I'm a glass half full kind of girl and I've certainly answered the door and had my socks knocked off by gorgeous men, but it means nothing to me if they don't treat me well. I love having my brain tickled too so a good conversation goes a lot way in regards to me having a good time. Then there's subtle things that a picture can't show, like smell, taste and touch. I'm actually able to tell a guy's age and a bit about his personality by the way he messages me. The girls think it's an odd talent lol but I'm almost always right on. That being said, pictures don't hurt :)

I agree 100% that the presence of a website is not a determinant of the legitimacy of a lady in fact I have met ladies who have websites and ladies who don't and are were very legit and professional. That said I do think it is fair to say that many men clients will assume rightly or wrongly that the presence of a website is an indicator of a ladies reliability especially if the site is well done with professional pictures. They weren't named to the SCC -- one named to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the other to the Ontario Court of Appeal. Both are courts along the way to the SCC, and both decisions, as we saw with Bedford, can be appealed to a higher court.

In response to RiddlerMan's post: I agree that the term ''sexual services'' is very broad. It makes me laugh, like when Bill Clinton was trying to define the term ''sexual relations'' with respect to Monica Lewinski. IMO, the new legislation does not practically apply to strip clubs with respect to lap dances and such. These are licensed establishments and it would be very difficult to enforce. Sure, if a stripper is offering to do a guy in a VIP room (which seems to be more and more available these days; not that I participate in this), there could be a criminal offence there but LE would not have the right to just bust in the private room without a warrant (which may prove difficult to obtain). That being said, I have never heard of any legal case in Canada on that issue. Am I wrong? Has anyone ever heard of LE going into a strip club and actually arresting folks?

In addition to my last post and in response to Lester, I don't believe a complaint from a neighbour would change anything. LE still has to get in the building and knock on the door. The MA and gentleman can still just ignore the knocking at the door. The only scenario that could be different is if the neighbour makes specific complaints about criminal activity going on there and LE gets them to swear an affidavit in support of obtaining a search warrant. That being said, most of the Judges I know would not grant the warrant without very specific allegations from the neighbour. Speculation alone would be insufficient. IMO, the neighbour would have to go as far as saying they have seen money exchanged and overheard it was some form of solicitation. BUT, in any event, LE still can't just bust down the door in executing the search warrant, so we're back to the sanctity of private locations. To go further, even if one were charged (which would be a wrongful arrest IMO), the neighbour's credibility could easily be torn to shreds by defence counsel and if the search warrant is quashed, all evidence derived therefrom is inadmissible and charges will be dropped. From speaking with lawyers, law professors and judges, I have been told that the real purpose of the legislation is to focus on what is visible on the streets and go after human trafficking. A noble cause. I hate the thought of human beings forced into the industry. The legislators are not interested in what goes on in the privacy of the nation's bedrooms (or hotel rooms :icon_wink:). IMO, the collateral effect of this will push the industry more in the closet and what happens in private locations will stay private. Additional Comments: In response to Vivero's post yesterday, I'd like to point out that raids have been made at some spas in Ottawa in the past few years, even before this new legislation was on the radar. It does happen. I was fortunate enough not to be there when they occured and have to deal with the stress that would entail. But I was told by a lady I know well what happens. Essentially, LE shows up but does not try to create a panic or be too forceful. They ask politely if they can just come in and check things out because they want to make sure that the conditions are clean and safe, and make sure the girls are ok and no one is being forced to work there against their will. Once LE realized that the MA's are there on their own accord (and it really is their choice), LE left without the threat of any charges. I was told that the gentlemen who were there got a pass and LE did not ask them for ID or interview them. It was all about the safety of the girls. And this goes to the heart of this matter. IMO, private locations are safe from raids because of the process involved to execute a search warrant. Public places are not. However, I believe spa's are a bit safer for the MA's as opposed to being independent. If LE tries to shake down all the spa's, alot of these very same ladies would go indy and this may increase the risks by being one on one with an idiot in private (I do acknowledge that indy's have their own safety practices, but still). The effect of closing down all spas is the exact opposite of what this legislation is intended to be. So I do not expect that the manner in which raids have been conducted in the past will change with this new legislation. And for those places that are doing human trafficking - they have it coming and I believe charges are well deserved, and I would commend LE for a job well done in those cases.

These kinds of posts violate their terms . Instead of posting a counter reply, report the defamatory types of posts and staff will remove them In general, CL every time they adjust their site in some way, there is more flagging. I attribute this to changes in their auto filtering and/or some internal issues. If you are using words or terms that are not blocking the ad, it is still a trigger word. The auto filter kicks in when you notice your ad is deleted before it hit the site. That is not flaggers. it is not the jealous competition. If you want your ad to stay up, fix your ad. It is rare to see enough real flags bring down any ads. The site simply seems to do it's own 'cleanup' if you ask me. For a real report or flag to bring down any ad, my guess is the person has to use their contact us forms and report links that way. Even then if you can't do that 2 or 3 times with spammers, and see their ads come down, then you know the reporting and flagging is not doing the ad removal. Clean up and disinfect your ad. If you can't do that, take all but one or two sentences out of your ad, screen cap the info you want people to know in the form of a picture, and add that info in as an image. Keep your name, phone number out of the text of the ad, and possibly out of the contact section. put your phone number or website name into a picture and add that as an image. the first photo is the first thing people see. I've put up ads where the first photo is a screencap of the text of a much longer descriptive ad posted on another site, like cerb. then the actual photos are the next images. since you can't post an ad with nothing in the text part, i include a few lines. there are words that we can figure are filter words. you won't know what the words are, they don't block the ad if you use them, but something is filtering those ads and that sends the message they don't want ES ads in there.

If I allowed his last comments it would just offend the entire community so I am closing this thread and leaving his comments to himself. Might I suggest you put together an email to introduce yourself and ask for any details you want. By doing this you can give her an idea about who you are, your personality, and thus save her having to deal with multiple texts. As a rule I only use text with women I have dealt with previously, or if I want to know if it's convenient for them to take a call.

Being an SP I can certainly tell you "endless texts" get very annoying for us. You aren't the only person trying to see us or contact us at any certain time and we get a startling amount of time-wasters. If you need to "chat it up" perhaps look for SPs like myself who frequent the chatroom in cerb. When I have free time for "idle chit chat" I pop in there for exactly that reason. If you're getting short answer replies it could be any number of reasons, including but not limited to: -she might be in the middle of cooking her dinner and so being pre-occupied is one reason -she may have already had 6 different guys waste her time this morning and you are unfortunately the straw breaking the camel's back -Maybe she is with friends right now and doesn't want to be rude by being on her phone the whole time so keeping her answers short allows her to enjoy her social life -Maybe she's just not very good with words -Maybe she's just a bitch Or, and this one will maybe piss people off but oh well.... -Maybe you need to realize that you're not paying them for time you text, but the time you spend with them in person. Many ladies here have a website that can and will answer all the questions you may have. Some ladies won't even take the time to answer questions about their rates, they will refer you to their site and be pissy about it. SPs do not owe you a single moment outside of what you are paying for, and that being said means your texts are using time that is not in fact paid for.
