I think this thread is kinda sweet, and funny too! I did not get married, I am back in school for the moment. I took a year off to recover from some health issues, and after some much needed healing, decided to go back to school to complete my degree. I miss all the lovely moments I was able to share with you awesome people, and miss all the amazing women in this community also. I am disgusted that the CBC repeatedly refers to the cartoons as Anti-Islam. The cartoons are satirical and usually have valid obvious points. Why does the CBC not discuss the specific cartoons instead of making ignorant assumptions? I think it is CBC promoting their victimisation dogma. The CBC played interviews with two "offended" Muslims. One of those offended acknowledged she had never seen any of the cartoons...but was extremely offended. The interviewer was sympathetic to the Muslims but never questioned them as to why Muslims should dictate what everyone else should be able to read. If you think something is offensive then don't look at it. Don't tell me what I can read or think.

I recently had a former client friend-request me on my personal Facebook because we had a mutual friend. I found it highly inappropriate and somewhat disturbing. I promptly blocked him and it is safe to say I would no longer be comfortable seeing him as a client, were he to contact me again. If you see a lady outside of the workplace, whether it be in person or on social media, pretend you didn't. It is a game we all play for the sake of discretion. I have no illusions as to how private, or public my identity may be, but as members of this community, I think we can all agree to be cordial and limit our interactions to the hobby space, unless both parties indicate otherwise. That said, there are circumstances where relationships formed in the hobby can migrate into the rest of our lives. If you and your client/lady maintain contact outside of the hobby, it is up to you how to handle chance meetings etc. But if you only connect with your lady/client for the purposes of hobbying, then take care not to make any assumptions, no matter how friendly your client/lady may be during appointments.

Sorry you had to go through something that has scared you. I think perhaps you should pm the mod first and have them help you to decide how best to inform others here, you might not want an influx of pm's from those you don't know. Stories can change once they get passed from person to person. Unfortunately this business comes with as much negativity as it does benefits, but please don't let it change you, there are a few good ones out there in the biz, who are truly interested in helping another co-worker. Rex is drawing conclusion a) and complaining that people haven't been following that principle across the board in the past. But I think Rex is wrong and I think a) is wrong (for reasons I've already explained). I think the principle at play here is b). And if we're talking about b), then I agree... 365 days a year.

Moi, je suis Charlie aussi. I don't think there's any doubt we can all climb on board that statement, since people should be able to write or say or draw absolutely anything they want without fear of being murdered by someone they've offended. We can all say "je suis Charlie" with pride and determination to stand up for that principle. On the other hand, freedom of speech doesn't mean you must be able to say anything you want and be utterly free of consequence. If you're a fast food company in the U.S. and you make statements against marriage equality and put money behind efforts to suppress it, you can't sputter with indignation when some of your customers choose to walk away. Similarly, a lot of what Charlie Hebdo has published in the past looks pretty awful and tasteless to me. As many commenters are noting today as they examine Charlie Hebdo's back-catalog, the magazine had an inclination to take swipes at powerless minorities, when the usual targets for the weapons of satire are those too comfortable in their positions of power and privilege. But they seemed within the limits of French law, and if anyone disagreed then they could choose to bring a case. Some laws mandate that some kinds of speech should be outright curtailed in the public interest. You can't be a Holocaust Denier in Canada for example, or try to hold certain kinds of rallies in Germany, without facing legal consequences. Same thing for the Dalhousie students; you don't get to say anything you want, no matter how hateful, without accepting the consequences for the environment you have created, how you may have violated the standards required by your university, or for showing that you can't meet expectations of your future professional organizations. But any repercussions must be legal, and follow a process, and they most certainly can't involve being gunned down in your office. So even if some of what they published was dumb, ugly garbage, it's for the preservation of the rule of law that we should all stand beside Charlie Hebdo and against terror. Few things have made me smile wider than the huge crowd in France on the night of the shootings, with a big illuminated sign "NOT AFRAID".

Vanessa has been advertising on Backpage for at least a year, I believe, but I've never taken an opportunity to meet her. That was mainly due to little being known about her other than one or two comments on the boards (all positive). I decided a few days ago, though, to "take a chance" and I'm very happy I did. She's very easy to deal with and even easier to be with. Very sweet. As you can tell by her photos, she's a curvy and voluptuous woman and very attractive. I am watching "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".

I play the occasional sport, but I think it's my job that keeps me fit. Not this job, but my regular one. I have never had a job where I was required to sit in one place, so always moving around helps. Also, because I don't have a desk keeping food at work is impossible. So eating only tends to occur when I can feel my stomach begging for something.. This and I do not have children. I think children play a big role in overeating and taking care of oneself less. If I had to provide 3 square meals for my children a day, plus snacks and treats, ... I would not stay fit. I commend anyone who does.

I personally do not take any supplements, unless I am ill and not feeling up to eating, in which case a multivitamin with additional vitamin C and some zinc is in order. I have mixed feelings about supplements and such. A lot of it is stuff you would consume in your day to day anyways. For example, L-Arginine and Histidine are simply amino acids that are components of protein. (The L in front of arginine does not mean it is different than regular arginine. It is the same. L refers to the configuration of the molecule and it is also the same configuration that is found in all of nature). There is also the issue that if your body does not require what you are ingesting at that given moment (up until the time you expel it from your body as waste), it will not get used. Your body does not store these things for use later on. So there is that to consider. I am also highly skeptical of many claims that are made regarding supplements and such. Unless you can run me through the physiology of how and why it works, which is done with conventional medicines, then it's really just one person who happened to have a good result saying that it works. This is no more than mistaking correlation for causation. My favourite example of this is: "In July there is an increase in the sales of ice cream and there is also an increase in violent crimes. Therefore ice cream is the cause of violent crimes." Although I am sure some do have their benefit, please be cautious and do your research.. You do not want to end up like this man who tried the colloidal silver detox. This is real, I can run you through the chemistry of it if you want, he will be purple/blue the rest of his life. Just be smart, and think about what you are consuming and how it works.

I think there's a big difference between an unpopular opinion and a forbidden one. You can have freedom of speech. But media outlets are under no obligation to broadcast your opinion. Universities are under no obligation to host you and give you an audience. Other individuals are no obligation to listen to you ramble. A lot of people with unpopular outlooks will try to make it seem as though their freedom of expression is under attack as a method of either avoiding realizing how unpopular their opinion is, or as a method of trying to rally support for their opinion by trying to ride the coat tails of a more popular belief. And people picking their priorities doesn't have anything to do with rights. If popularity is more important to you than asserting your opinion, you will choose not to voice any unpopular opinions you may have. That doesn't mean freedom of speech isn't available to you, you just chose popularity over honesty/integrity, that's all.

Every woman you meet will cause different feelings and create different outcomes, they'll all be original and what comes of them or how they continue is a private matter between the two of you. Cops may not be allowed to commit sexual acts on duty, but that doesn't mean they don't. Cops commit some of the worst assaults against sex workers. This is honestly the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Definitely a compartmentalized life, I trust no one with this aspect of it. It's just the way things are. More so now than ever with the massive negative publicity around the new law, which reinforces all the usual stereotypes.
