Got to LOVE Monte Python! Decided, like many before me, this song will be played as the 6 carry me out to the hearse. So to my friends and those who have followed this journey over the past 2 years, the journey is basically at an end. I am getting moved to Kitchener area on Friday to a respite facility where the pain will be medicated stronger than can be done at home. My memory took a rapid turn for the worse on the weekend, and I passed out from pain a couple of times. Probably have no more than 10 - 20 days max before my ashes go onto the driveway....I mean golf course! KW is closer to most of the family and it will make it easier on them. I have had a lucid day and a half, where I sent personalized notes of thanx to some of the very special people I have met, had decidedly naughty conversations with and with those who I have not been able to visit. I am sure I have missed quite a few, and I apologize to them. sigh, so many camel toes and just not enough time!!!!! I have sent a note to organ transplant folks to use my tongue in case anyone wants it. I want to thank you all again for all for the notes and emails sent, it helped me get through the shitty days and I really appreciated it. If I am not too drugged tonight, I will try and get on chat. So I will not be attending the next Cerb Spring Social, but I hope you all have naughty fun, end up laughing at all the stupid things I have said and done, and end up with mighty hangovers!!! I have noticed a few people trying to use these apps and I decline appts with them. I ask to call back for my safety before an appt is booked. If they have an issue with my number showing up on records, I tell them I will block it or I have a private number that is not tied with anything if the number were searched. I use it for those who need to be extra discrete for whatever reason. I will not give out location details esp if someone is trying to remain anonymous and esp if there is a good chance they don`t show up. And just an fyi, it shows up on my phone when someone is using these applications in several different ways or those weird area code google or skype numbers. I don`t respond to them. I always go by my intuition when speaking to someone and know within 20 seconds if I want to meet them or not. Someone trying to deceive me using these numbers will not get them anywhere. I may have been born in the night but not last night. lol. Until I meet a guest in person without incident, people inquiring are strangers to me so it`s a give and take.

I agree. I was once emailing someone back and forth, and his name kept switching from his 'real' email address and his 'alias' email account also in gmail. From what I understand Gmail allows you to have multiple email accounts under the same Google + profile. This can be dangerous in my opinion. I used to have a Google + account with my real name, but deleted it and replaced it so it's only linked to this persona. My other personal email is through a non-related provider, and as far as I am aware, this is working at keeping things separate. PLEASE advise me if I am wrong! I would much rather someone tell me that my emails are including signature information that is not supposed to be there. I sometimes wonder when I reply through my phone app if there is a signature like "Sent from XXXX's phone". I've seen this sort of signature attached to emails sent from tablets. Honestly, you need to be proactive about your own sexual health and know what tests are available to you and ask for them. Personally, I've had to argue with one of the nurses at the sexual health clinic for an HIV test because they deemed me "low risk" due to condom use and did not want to include blood tests -- just the urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Know what tests you want included and check with the nurse/doctor to be sure they're including them on the requisition. In Ontario, this is what a general requisition looks like. All of the test codes are on the back of the form, which gives you an idea of what public health can test for (HIV testing is a separate form).

Another aspect of this to be considered is that once the magazine is loaded and fired, it can never again be reloaded. The threat of outing is far more intimidating than the actual naming of names. For the multitudes that could be named, only a percentage will catch a bullet and the rest will breath a sign of relief, the threat will be pretty much over. It will be big new once and only once; subsequent outings will be observed but will have the "already been there, did that" reaction in the public eye. This could only be done once or twice, then it would lose it's power. Our politicians are not rock stars, most people can't even name their MPs let alone recognize them on the street. The names would have to be so high up and relevant to todays government that the public immediately know who they are. I know who is in my blackbook, some are genuine power brokers in this country but Joe Public wouldn't know them at all. A few of them are elected officials, others are long term bureaucrats. None of these men would be recognized be anyone outside of the people who work on the Hill. The journalists would have a hay day researching these mens lives and terrorizing (I believe journalists are our homegrown terrorists!) the outed's loved ones gathering enough information to flesh out their characters to even make the public care enough to follow the story. By outing clients, the only winners are the media, everyone else loses... cat

I can understand how and why providers might be torn over whether a client should be outed, especially the people who make or enforce the law. It's been said many times and many different ways: A provider's business is built in large part on being absolutely trustworthy and discrete, no matter what. But is there never an exception? As people nevermind as a provider, ask yourself this: Generally speaking, if you were being made to submit to something - anything - without your consent (or you witnessed someone being subordinated without their expressed consent), would you at least try to stand up for yourself, or would you just let it happen? Maybe your answer might fall along the lines of, "It depends... on the gravity of the situation" or something similar. Well, my take on C-36 is that not only does it continue to endanger a provider's constitutional right to health and safety of the person, it goes even further by perpetuating that danger. In my book, that's an attack by any definition. As a provider you might think that you yourself will be fine if C-36 became law... but for sure others won't, providers and clients alike. If you can't bring yourself to supporting the outing of those clients who as politicians support bringing C-36 into force, perhaps you might consider another form of protest, including refusing to see them, and outing them amongst yourselves. But to do nothing except just stand by and let this attack happen?

Outing is not an answer or should it even be considered an option. The problem is the damage done to the already tarnished image of our industry. I fight tooth and nail to prove to every guest that I am an ethical professional; the blow back will touch every provider where it hurts the most, in the wallet. The PC's will not back down and we will continue to fight. We already carry the reputation of being diseased, lying, stealing manipulators. Now lets add to the greatest fear clients have besides STD/STI's; being outed. Every SP will spend countless hours explaining that she can be trusted with a clients personal information simply to try and maintain her safety. For what? So a couple of men can walk around embarrassed for a month or two then try to rebuild their lives? We are a community, we should be protecting each other. The minute "they" make us enemies, we are screwed. Disclosing names will not fix the issue, it will simply destroy innocent lives of the families involved. No good will come of it except to make juicy newspaper porn for people who aren't even on the fringes of our struggles. The wives, children, parents and friends will bear the brunt of the disclosure. To me, the collateral damage is unacceptable when we know the bomb will not take out the target. There would be no end to justify the means... cat
