I use an app to for discretion. I acknowledge its an app. I never save contacts or information of any kind to my phone. all i have to do is unistall the app and all the numbers go away. It doesn't show up on my bills anymore on who I texted or called or vice versa. Only way my system works against me is I have to remember which number belongs with who but so far so good. I'm currently studying psychology and neuroscience, though I'm by no means an authority, and am actually academically interested in exactly this topic. It's a complicated topic! First off, to address RG's question, a "normal" behaviour can be the focus of an addiction if it has certain characteristics. Behavioural addictions can activate and affect the reward centre of the brain in very similar ways to substance addictions. Sex addiction is a lot more controversial, and it has been classified in previous DSM versions, but removed from the DSM 5. Escalation of the type of sex a person seeks isn't necessarily a sure-fire sign if addiction on its own, as there are a lot of other criteria that need to be met for a diagnosis to be confirmed. One study I just finished reading actually found very little correlation between the level of "deviance" of a person's sexual interests and their level of compulsive behaviour. Most people investigating the sex industry are interested in the motivation that drives the ladies to work in that field. I would bet that there are as many variations of motivation that drive clients to be consumers of their services. I'm sure addiction is a part of the demographic. This is a really good thread, I won't book a client without a real cell phone so I would not expect him to book me without one either. Trust needs to be established. It's actually a perfectly level playing field... clients can use an App and yes that might mean that some ladies will not accept booking requests but likewise a lady can use an App and some clients will not book with them. That said let's be realistic... for the client your exposure is only to the ladies you choose to make your number available too... so you totally control who has access to your number... if you do your research and stick to booking established ladies or ladies that can be verified that risk can be effectively managed so it is minimal... of course if you are less cautious you might increase your risk the choice is yours. Unless the lady has misrepresented herself in someway then for me the only option would be to pay the lady the full fee that had been agreed to and tell her you have changed your mind. The lady included you in her schedule, has gone to the trouble of preparing for your visit and may have even turned away other clients because of the booking already had. At this late time she will not be able to book anyone else. So like other service providers if you miss the appointment your still expected to pay.
