4 pointsI just finished watching the Bruce Jenner interview with Dianne Sawyer, and I have to say, I have a new found respect for him, coming out to society about transgender! As he spoke, I could relate to his feelings of not being able to "come out", to family and friends, in fear of their reaction, being an SP, I felt the same way, just recently I started posting face pics, which have given me a sense of freedom, just because I am an SP doesn't mean there aren't many more areas to my life, but at the end of the day, for myself I am glad I made that decision! Throughout the interview he discussed feelings of how others would look at him, but he new this is who he is, and society be damned! I learned from his interview, that no matter who or what people see us as, I am still me, and proud to be who I am, so Bruce Jenner I thank you for coming out to the world, you have my highest respect!!

4 pointsYes, presumably. Backpage is moderated, just not enough. You can't post explicit pics and you can report issues. Perhaps that could be a resolve. If more would report those who b&s perhaps less would be able to get away with it.

3 pointsI'm not even going to touch your gross overgeneralization of male patrons, but I've been dancing since 2009 and have known many dancers who have been around longer than that, and that is absolutely not standard. Stage tipping in general isn't standard around here, so to expect a new dancer to stage tip every dancer is just mind-boggling. Perhaps a more seasoned dancer told her that as a joke or just to see if she could get away with it? Not all dancers are friendly to newbies. Alternatively, maybe she just wanted to tip all the dancers to get on their good side but felt the need to give you an excuse for it. Or, if she came from the USA, I could see where she might think that was expected -- they have a far stronger stage tipping culture down there. Of course, there's never much sense in trying to figure out why dancers do anything as sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to it. ;)

3 pointsThis thread underwent the interesting transformation starting from the discussion of reliability of information on BP and ending on discussion if participation in BP is good or bad. Actually, I don't see how using some website can make someone or something better or worth. Let me put it this way. As a client, I go to BP from time to time. Does this change my personality or makes me worth client? I don't think so. If I come to the escort companion from BP, will she treat me in a different way then the guy who came from Eros or personal website directly? I hope not. Or am I wrong Ladies? If I found companion on BP, will I treat her differently than Lady from Lyla? - no way, with the same respect and high expectations. It does not depend on website, it depends on person. Being general commercial site, BP is just less reliable source of information than some special sites for escort advertising - that is all. This means that a little bit more efforts are required on both sides. Clients should do some search and verification, Ladies are expected to do smart advertizing to save us some time on that search and verification. (BTW, Mia's ad is the perfect example how it can be done right on BP - no doubts about person authenticity or service quality - IMHO.)

2 pointsYesterday was a very sad day for our family. Our dog, or specifically my daughter's dog which was 12 years old and had been my daughter's faithful companion passed away. He was a great faithful dog that wouldn't hurt a flea. We've had many animals at home during the 20 years. At times we had a mini zoo at home. He's had cat's, rabbits and snakes put on him. And he was kind of them all. The last couple of month's had been rough, as he was having troubles walking and had to be lifted up so that he could limp outside to go for a pee. But the last couple months, he had to go outside every 2 hours for a pee :(. I think his kidneys had been failing. My daughter had recently moved out and he was faithfully waiting each day at the front door to wait for her. She did come home every couple of days for dinner and to see him. He was happy each time he saw her. But my daughter was sad as she could see that he was getting worst each day. She is an animal fanatic and loved her dog very much. It was her that suggested that maybe it was time for him to be put to sleep. She was in tears when she said this, but she didn't want him to suffer. She has been coming home each night to spend time with him and to sleep in the family room with him each night, She woke up 3 to 4 times each night to let him out. Last night she felt he was going soon, and bought him a Mac Donald's burger and fries. When we got home he was lying on his side panting. But when he saw the burger and fries, he perked up and gobbled down his meal. Soon afterwards he lied down on his side and starting convulsing and breathing hard and his eye's were rolling back. We thought that he was going to pass soon. The family and her best friend sat with him for several hours, petting and talking too him. We then decided to call a vet that does home visit's to put him to sleep. We did not want to suffer more. We found a vet that could come within 30 minutes. While waiting we surrounded him with love and kept petting him. When the vet arrive. She apologized for being late. She was nice french woman that is serious about her job. She was very caring and compassionate. She kept us informed as to his health status and kept reinforcing to my daughter that she was doing the right thing. His kidneys had failed and he was dying and could be in this conditions for hours before he passed. We told her to put him to sleep. She explained to us what would happen at each state and asked for permission to go ahead. She told us to keep petting him and talking to him as she prepared the needles. First injection was to put him to sleep and relax him. This would take about 15 minutes she said. Meanwhile my daughter is crying and telling her dog that it was okay for him to go, and that he was a good dog. We were all crying as we sat around him. And we were telling stories about him as a puppy. the vet said that it was good that we did not bring him to a vet hospital as it is stressful for the dogs, as they get stressed going to the vet as they have memories about previous visit's to the vet. It is too clinical and cold. It is better for him to pass at his home with his loved ones around him. After 15 minutes, he was sleeping, she administered the final injection that would stop his heart, this would take about 30 seconds. After 30 seconds he stopped breathing and looked at peace. My daughter then cried for a while. The vet was very soothing and tried to comfort my daughter. After giving us time to say goodbye to our loyal family member. We wrapped his body in his favourite blanket and she promised that she would respect the body and bring it home with her until the people came tomorrow to take the body for cremation. She said that would bring back his ashes when they were ready. I was very much impressed with the vet's attention to detail and how compassionate and understanding she was. There was no rush and she kept us informed at all times at what to expect. She even gave us each a big hug before she left. This at home visit was the best way for us to say goodbye to our loving pet. He passed away with his family and friends around him. Our other dog laid on his body after he passed, I think she knew what happen and was looking for him today. He is at peace now and his memory will stay with us forever. My daughter is now compiling all her pictures of him and making a digital album. Just wanted to share this experience with you and if you have to say bye to your pet a at home visit from one of these loving vet's is a great way to do so. May he Rest in Peace :)

2 pointsI came across a video the other day and I decided to share here because while watching it, although I felt so happy that I am aware of what I'm worth (my inner value, not looks) I also realized that it wasn't always the case and that it took a lot of self-work to get there and also I was blessed with great people and circumstances to walk into my life to learn to appreciate myself because I know my value and I don't need anyone to say it to me. The video is directed to women but I really want to share this with both men and women, although I'm sure the women here will give it a different perspective because another thing that clicked me while watching it was how in this profession we can sometimes be put up on a pedestal and others not very appreciated however thinking about it on the men's side of this business, some also stereotype those who pay to spend time with a lady ... Bullshit! I've met some wonderful men through this, nicer than some jerks I've met in my personal life, same way I know many ladies here are better people that women who aren't escorts. So here's this video for all of us to remember that our worth is based on our actions which make us a better or not so better person but being on cerb and what it involves is not one of them :)

2 pointsThis is EXACTLY why I started this thread.... to show you guys what it's like to be compared to unrealistic photoshopped images. I know you guys probably don't think we care, but we do. Guess what? We feel inadequate too, daily. We see all kinds of threads about "best bum" and other similar things... Most of us will NEVER live up to these expectations, and it can be detrimental to our self esteems to see it all over the site all the time. As far as I am concerned, this thread is for us ladies to enjoy, and for you guys to have to try and force down your own medicine. Sorry.

2 pointsI don't want to seem harsh or blame you, but you dog will only learn if you teach him and teach him right. Every dog is different and will respond to training differently. He is chewing, likely because he's bored. You need to tire him out, exercise him more. He is most likely teething as well and could be stressed at being left(separation anxiety) by you his pack leader. Find him a favorite chew and kennel(crate) him with it. Training a dog to be comfortable in a crate is important. The easiest way of doing that is putting him in there with his favorite food/chewy or toy and leaving the door open, praising him, then in time close the door, leaving him for short intervals and praise him for being good in it. Make it a place he'll want to go. Crate training can prevent separation anxiety, which is the hardest issue to solve with a dog and give you peace of mind when the dog is left. Most dogs are given over to pounds, shelters and rescue orgs because of behavioral issues and more often than not, they are caused by the owners themselves. Good luck, I know it can be frustrating and time consuming but owning and raising a dog isn't easy, cheap or uncomplicated, they are intelligent social beings after all:)

1 pointAgreed. People love to challenge Murray and some of his decisions but the man and his scouting team have made the most of their picks/trades. Water into wine. People say the Sens are always outperforming their talent level. That they shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to draft time. I just can't understand the logic. If a team consistently outperforms than how is that considered an anomaly? Besides, the draft guarantees you nothing. Even a top pick. There is always a Daigle lurking in the mist.

1 pointWhat a season this has been for the Ottawa Senators. Back in February, partisans and media were buzzing about the "McDavid" lottery. Then both starting goalies got hurt. Enter stage left, Andrew Hammond. The Hamburglar craze took over and the Senators close out the regular season by winning the last game and sneaking into the playoffs. Then many fans and media wrote off the Sens after they fell behind 0-3 in the first round against the Habs. Craig Anderson comes in and plays lights out and finally in game 5, a few Senators found the twine and proved Carey Price can be beaten. My friends who are Habs fans, initially chirping "sweep sweep" are now mostly quiet. Indeed, doubt has crept into the minds of the Canadiens. Ottawa made history by overcoming a 14-point differential and getting into the playoffs. Can the Senators pull another miracle out of the hat and win this series? Got to believe! Should the Sens win game 6, the Habs will go on to lose the series and make a little history of their own - losing a playoff series for the first time after leading 3-0. Cue the "Jaws" music.. the Sens smell blood in the water and the Habs might not be able to stop the bleeding in time. CM

1 pointI think you misunderstood what I meant. A lot of women ages 20-35 will specifically go searching for books about this business because they may be interested into getting into it and may have a skewed vision of what they think it is all about. Others may read this type of book on the beach somewhere as just something interesting to read. I wasn't suggesting a "how to" book rather a book that is real and not depicting this business as very glamorous because a lot of times it isn't. Women who aren't in this business may be blind sighted by all the fluffy type books that are sold on Amazon that focus on dream type clients and lots of money. It doesn't work that way. They need an accurate version from someone who has witnessed and experienced it firsthand. If someone in the above demographics gains of idea of what is real, they then can make an informed decision IF they want to get into the business and only IF that's why they are reading the book in the first place. Other women may fantasize about this business, buy the books and continue about their regular life. IMO that age demographic will probably be the most popular. I once read a book 10 years ago about a woman who was a Harvard Professor by day and an escort by night. She had her own share of trials and tribulations which made the book that much better. Keep the book pointed in a "real" direction and you will have multiple demographics as your audience. Posted via Mobile Device

1 pointProud sens fan. Sens got away with this one. Easily their worst effort of the series. Dominated for two periods. Anderson made some key saves. Lots of puck luck in this win. I have no problem with Prust/Subban. Love Subban. I would take him over EK in a heartbeat. Immense skill and plays on the edge. Reminds me of a OV in his prime. Again, Sens will take the next home again and lose the series in 7. A win for hockey fans.
-
1 pointAs a true hockey fan I have to give credit to the Sens especially Anderson giving him full credit, he is playing outstanding. Yip all Hab fans are very nervous after watching that game tonight. As Gabby mentioned we got our ass kicked royally in our own barn. A stat tonight has our top six forwards at a -3 so far, they have to show up on Sunday and bring their A game or there will a game 7.

1 pointThis has come up in discussion before, never ended nicely A few threads http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=197977&highlight=blacks http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=181140&highlight=blacks http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=151618 And since I'm two target areas in your post, overweight and maybe too old I'll just say that a lady has a right to her personal preference in who she sees based on whatever personal reasons she has. There may be a myriad of reasons for anyone's preference, leave it at that Just a rambling on an uncomfortable topic...again RG

1 pointI've said it before and I'll say it again. As long as there are suckers, there will be scammers. Most have had the old Bait and Switch happen at least once, but it shouldn't happen to anyone too often unless you're a slow learner and don't use your instincts and the tools available to protect yourself. But what's more important is that one has the nerve to turn around and leave. (muggings or dangerous situations aside). I have to believe scammers are scamming because it works way too often. In other words people feel awkward or too guilty to leave. If people weren't succumbing to the situation, and the scammer wasn't profiting than the scammer probably wouldn't bother... NO?

1 pointI'm going to be blunt and I'm sure quite a few of you will get your jockeys in a bunch, but it needs to be said. 1. No one cares who you are. The majority of you are not high-profile enough to matter. 2. The paranoia around us getting hacked or your info leaked because we lost our phone or some other ridiculous scenario you come up with to avoid taking responsibility for your own actions (eg. contacting s ex workers) is so entitled to me. Has an escort ever been hacked in the history of the internet? NOPE. 3. You can't have it both ways; you can't expect us to provide high level customer service like remembering little details about your life, interests, etc and not expect us to keep info. 4. If you think we're going to extort you or some other malicious action, you need to seriously re-evaluate how you think about s ex workers and your participation in this industry. 5. Your privacy, your personal life, your marriage--none of that trumps my safety. My life is on the line when I invite men into my space. It is not my responsibility to make sure that your wife doesn't find out, or your children or your boss or whoever. 6. It is in my best interests to keep your info private and secure, my reputation and business is on the line. All of which is to say, give us the info we ask for, or move along, but quit whining about it. *drops mic*

1 pointI already said it in this thread, but I feel that it is important to say it again: As a Kingston Escort, 95% of my business comes from BP. I repeat: 95% of my business comes from BP. And I must not be the only one! Therefore, implying that BP only/mostly has fake ads, bait and switch etc... is putting fear in potential clients, strongly suggesting them to stay away from girls who advertise there. Meaning to stay away from girls like me. Only about 5% of my clients ALSO have an account here on Lyla. But even this 5% often found my ad FIRST on Bp. So you get it, without BP = no business for me, no business for other girls who work in Kingston too. Funny enough some people who have participated to this thread encourage this fear of girls while they do advertise on BP... So all the other girls are bad, but they are not? Hm... Instead of searching for what is wrong with the others' ads, or making up fears hoping that it will attract more business to them, I personally prefer to focus on HOW I ADVERTISE MYSELF. I have no time nor energy to loose on being BP's police to check which girl is real or fake. I am not to be taken responsible for fake ads on BP. I don't manage BP and cannot do anything about it. The fact is that it is the first place where men go to look for an escort. At least it is true FOR MY CITY, Kingston. And I do advertise or have profiles/accounts on many other websites, whether them being boards, or simply advertising sites for escorts. If some disrespectful men try to negociate donations, acts, or avoid my screening process, then end of discussion, no meeting, that's all. And I have never had any issue with my clients so far. Of course there are WOTS and no shows, but we ladies all experience that. My website link is always in my ads. My observation is that less than 5% of guys take the time/make the effort to visit it. So it is a lot of biases to put on ladies who use BP to advertise their services, when we know that we all have to do it! BP is what it is, I cannot change it. Can you? And one last thing, again about biases. I am going to quote what Leprechaun1957 wrote: ". I avoid certain locations or hotels (e.g Montreal Road or Rideau Street)" Why? Because the ladies you might meet/have met who are located in this area are not trustworthy? All of them? Are you absolutely sure about that? You might miss some wonderful experience by making this idea a general rule, and mostly, you might insult some who live/work in this area and who are known to be reputable ladies, welcoming gentlemen in very nice locations... And by writing this, you might put fear in some potential clients' minds who will conclude that they must not see girls who are located in this area. We have all said that: do your research. Well, people, please do your research, and avoid spreading fears and biases, it is insulting, and I am personally fed up with this. Thank you.

1 pointTrue! Emma from Montreal had text me last minute once and apologized because of a last minute. She then rewarded me later the same evening with a duo, with Pam who was also travelling. Same price as solo....very nice!
-
1 pointYes I agree , it's more a booking site than a chatting club . Most on BP will follow your booking protocol and if they don't no date . Overall I love my BP clients , they book and show up and don't abuse my time . They don't feel they can text or email me 3 times a day , again respect . What is wrong with BP ?

1 pointThis is such a beautiful video Isabella, I cried watching it. I know so many women out there that don't think they make a difference in the world but they do. This message goes out to all the ladies of Lyla, you all make a difference in our lives, YOU ARE ENOUGH!! and we love you all. "big hugs to you all".
-
1 pointIn a previous business, I got haggled to death almost every day. Depending on my mood, I either dickered or I raised my voice and said, "The price is low enough as it is.... F you and get the F out!" I feel your pain. There are things in life which you can negotiate, typically the purchase of significant tangible assets, but when it comes to services (mechanic, plumber, etc.), I don't negotiate because I figure they'll get the price they want one way or the other (if one were to dicker for a lower hourly rate, they'd just bill more hours). When it comes to services I go for reputation, not price. This industry is unique of course, but if you lower your asking rate once, you'll get caught in a downward spiral (the discounted clients won't see you again unless it's at the discounted rate, and even worse, they could spread the lowered rate they received to other potential clients, thus snowballing into a bunch of drama: "he got that lower rate, so why can't I?!). I'm just an average Joe, but when I play I prefer a quality experience, so I have no problem paying the posted rate. I go for quality over quantity. If I have to set aside spare cash for weeks on end, I'll do so. If I don't have the full required amount, that's my problem not hers, so I'll be patient and wait until the piggy bank's full again. Only you can decide your own policies. Anybody who haggles with me now gets a polite "I'm sorry, I can't do that" the first couple of times; if they keep pushing and they push the right combination of buttons, once in a blue moon I'll still explode (I'm getting mellower as I age though). And you want to F-ing know something!? It's the fckers with the BMWs and the Acuras who are the worst! The richer they are the more they think they deserve a special rate!

1 pointHi nntsci: I do not do business with escort agencies at all, but I would think it should be business as usual and they are just trying to avoid problems advertising sexual services. IMLO, they will not get busted any more now than in the past. Nothing will change. In fact, the agency is doing you a favour. The only time you'd get into trouble is if you meet an undercover police officer. So as long as the agency is reputable, I think you are safe. The fact remains that everyone involved should simply go with the idea that they are buying, or making a donation for, time and companionship. Chatting and smiling. Laughing and discussing world issues. And if the lady decides she is willing to go beyond that (surely because you are soooo cute and she likes you so much), then that is something between consenting adults. I am not saying anything you haven't already heard. I just wouldn't be alarmed by the changes to websites. I get that it sucks for those of you that like the nude pictures and a set menu in advance, like in the old days. But we must evolve as a species and nature will find a way, n'est-ce pas?
