2 pointsA condom that changes colour when it comes into contact with sexually transmitted infections has been invented by a group of school children. The 'S.T.EYE' has a built-in indicator to detect infections such as chlamydia and syphilis, turning a different colour depending on the strain of bacteria present. It is the brainchild Daanyaal Ali, 14, Muaz Nawaz, 13 and Chirag Shah, 14, pupils at Isaac Newton Academy in Ilford, Essex, who wanted to "make detecting harmful STIs safer than ever before" without the need for invasive tests. 2 pointsI do lifting (2-3x/week), toning (6 day/week) and I take 3-4hour walks/hikes (2-4x/week) - for cardio/endurance/agility. The walks are SUPER effective!! I also diet 6 days a week, and cheat once a week to reward myself! Oh and I use a bunch of supplements and vitamins. I can go in greater detail if you're interested - I love talking about fitness!! LOL Oh... and sex, as much as sex as possible hahaha :) <3 #lovesex Good luck with your fitness journey!! Additional Comments: This is very true!! I do heavy weight lifting / body building and I'm shrinking in size. My muscles are becoming more and more defined but overall I'm smaller! Awesome! LOL You have to keep your mental in check when you work out. When you do strength exercises your body will go thru phases. Muscle is built faster than fat is burnt. After a really heavy day I might look a little larger but the day or 2 after I'm back to normal size, only much firmer! The more muscle you build the more fat you will burn constantly.. it doesn't take long to see the lean muscle you'd be looking for, especially if you combine it with a balanced diet and good cardio! The more I workout the more food I can get away with on cheat day hahaha... *thumbs up*

1 pointThis was my 4th visit to Vibe in the last couple of months, it's starting to become an expensive habit... :) As with my other trips, I didn't make an appointment, opting to take my chances on walk-in. Lucky for me, Friday night was slow at the spa. Skylar is a cutie with a booty, her pics are accurate. Cute spinner type with killer eyes. She knows how to give that 'come hither' look that melts all but one spot on your body. ;) The session was on par with the other Vibe ladies - I enjoyed myself thoroughly. So far, I have not been disappointed when visiting Vibe. Two thumbs up.

1 pointIn case there are those who are unaware of the latest gossip in the scientific community, then check out some of these responses to Tim Hunt (A nobel prize winner and Sir). I think they are brilliant. http://mashable.com/2015/06/11/female-scientists-responses-tim-hunt-distractinglysexy/ They are in response to the three problems he has with girls working in science that he announced to journalists and fellow scientists while giving a talk at a conference. These three problems are why he believes women should not be allowed to work with men. He says it's too distracting... 1) He falls in love with them, 2) They fall in love with him, 3) They cry when criticized A quick google search will bring you all up to speed, and if I used twitter I would be all over #distractedlysexy, where I think the issue is being handled brilliantly. It highlights what a fool he is. Science is rarely sexy. What do you all think? Funny? Do we dare delve into the broader subject where this sort of sexist opinion is still prevalent in a lot of disciplines? I mean, really, why is it that the girls have to go? Couldn't he have instead said that men shouldn't be allowed to work with women because they get too distracted. ;-)

1 pointOh, I get out of the city a lot. No, it startled me back when I came to Canada some 30 years ago. Back before I knew there were Canadian hillbilly folk. But that goes to my original thought. The flag isn't really some quaint folksy funny thing. It is a battle standard utilized by a treasonous pseudo-government established to preserve the State's right to continue an economy based on slavery and to preserve the idea that the white race was superior to all others. Long way from there to Daisy Duke's. I agree with the earlier statement that one should revere the flag in your own home if one wants but the government, both State and Federal, should not display it.

1 pointSo not only do men love boobs, apparently so do yellow jacket bees. Was sitting outside doing my meditation and came back in, did a few things around the house, etc. I'm washing dishes and feel something itchy. I go to adjust my t- shirt and a bee flies right out of there! Holy shite! I never even felt him there for the last 20 minutes and fortunately not being stung! I was going to kill him but I figured it was best that we parted with him having fond memories of being nestled in my chest. lol.

1 pointThis... It's an old identity that needs to be put in a museum. Does not belong in modern day culture. It's funny how Nikki Haley not long ago was endorsing this flag, and now is trumpeting in removing it. The flag needs to go, at least from a state building or state flag.... But if you want it on your front porch or license plate, go ahead... Free speech and all. Cheers.

1 pointI don't generally use BP (unless I notice one of the lyla ladies advertising there) as lyla has more than filled my bucket list and I've never been disappointed using this site. I would tend to respond the opposite way to face pics on backpage: If the lady advertising chooses to be discreet and hide/blur her face I think it is more likely to indicate she's the real deal. I do all my research before using backpage as a sole contact point.

1 pointhi all. So I posted a question in the Toronto side of Lyla asking for some recommendations for a great massage since I am travelling to Toronto this week. My post got a bunch of "views" but not a single reply. I wonder how strong Lyla is there? Too bad cause it's great in Ottawa. Soooo Anyone have some recommendations for a MA close to Pearson airport? Thanks

1 pointnever ever go to a hotel call without knowing the room number first. It is a red flag to me when I get told they will send the room number when I say I am there. I always confirm that the gentleman is actually a registered guest at the hotel, by having them tell me the name the room is registered under and the room number then I call them through the front desk and speak with them directly. If a gentleman does not want to give this information, then I do not leave my place to go see them. Why should I waste my time travelling to someone who has no intent on seeing me when I could see someone that truly wants to see me? As for girls not showing up? At least a call, text, email from them to let you know that they are not able to make it would at least be courteous. I've had to cancel at last minute, due to unforeseen circumstances, but the gentleman always gets notice.

1 pointThere is a lot of controversy over this matter. bcguy42 is correct, it is a Virginia battle flag, not the stars and bars (which was actually the first national flag), but it was also the battle flag of the army of Tennessee during the civil war. The symbol itself has a lot of standing in the U.S. It is part of the state flag of Mississippi, state seal for Texas, Alabama coat of arms, and 9 states have it on their license plates. Until 2001, it was part of the Georgia state flag. As a southern woman, I do have it flying at my home, along with my state flag and the national flag. I do not, personally, see it as a symbol of hatred or oppression. I see it as a part of history when one country fought against itself in an attempt to survive the union of the states, or stand together in independence. It started with 7 states, grew to 13, but as we all know, there are now the United states. Southerners like myself fly the flag in remembrance of what caused the civil war. It has great meaning to me, and yes, I fly the flag. If people see that as a symbol of hatred, then they do not know me very well. I feel terrible that people view this as a symbol of hatred, as that is not what it stands for. The fact that some people have decided to use this flag as a symbol of hatred, should not reflect on the history of the flag whatsoever. The deaths that have been caused by people 'using' this flag in the wrong conjecture is really awful. The recent deaths tore at me, things like this should never happen, especially in this day and age. How would people feel if their own flag was used by a select group of people that were running rampage on the world by causing severe problems, hatred and killing? Oh, wait a minute, that was Hitler, who adopted the swastika (a symbol meaning lucky or auspicious object, in eastern Asia) and used it to try to take over the world! Not everyone feels the same way about this flag. It is a controversy that can be seen from both sides. Just an opinion from a true southern woman.

1 pointThere are a lot of members from across Canada on Lyla, but the concentration does seem to the the Ottawa area. As for getting a lot of views and no replies, it could be that many people simply feel you'd be better off doing your own research.

1 pointJust saw Lea from Montreal today-it was her first visit in town-and I hope not her last. She looks better then her photos. Service was definitely GFE . Will definitely repeat.

1 pointNo. My comparison is apt in that it parallels the nature of the offense in the eyes of others. Your qualification about how pervasive the images are addresses "why did Matt do something so wrong and stupid?", but it doesn't at all diminish the fact that it was exactly that wrong and stupid in the first place. I do agree that the casual reduction of women to an exclusively sexual role is so pervasive in the culture that people sometimes don't recognize it for the belittling insult that it can be. There's nothing innately wrong with sexual imagery of women, or of men. Even the imposition of fantasy sexual roles upon members of the opposite sex can be healthy in the right context -- hey, it's the stock in trade of we who are posting here, either as sellers or buyers. It's when women are reduced exclusively to a sexual fantasy role, especially in a place where they've earned acknowledgement as something else, that there's a deep cultural issue. This type of reduction happens to women far, far, far more than it does to men. And it's what happens when you wear pictures trumpeting women as semi-naked objects who embody male sexual fantasies, to any professional workplace whose business isn't porn. I have trouble deciphering your last couple of sentences. It's possible you're suggesting that Taylor only apologized because the world got angry about something it shouldn't have. I give Taylor more credit than that, and think it's much more likely that he realized what he'd done was wrong, rude to his colleagues, and deeply offensive to all the women in that setting who had worked so hard to swim against the cultural current and be something else. And he apologized for THAT.

1 pointThis feels like the behaviour of a troll trying to provoke people in an effort to validate himself. As someone who has routinely danced with this tribe in other forums, I can tell you there is little to no effort trying to use facts as they will be ignored or "discredited." The troll's next step will be to start calling people names and, if he can get away with it, harassing and subsequently threatening people. In he end, when he's spent, the troll will try to claim the higher moral ground and depart, saying he's no longer interested in arguing and wants cooler heads to prevail. This way he will get to surrender without looking like he's a coward.

1 pointReceived a text from a lovely Lyla lady wishing me a Happy Father's Day. It makes my day! :D
-
1 pointYup. Put simply, men are the present. Women and the children they've traditionally cared for are the future. A species whose behaviour favours the future, survive. Those whose behaviour favoured the present, are all extinct.
-
1 pointThere are 2 different and related questions here: 1. Why protect children at all costs? Our most basic instincts include that of procreation, and that of protecting the next generation. Our very survival as a species has depended on it since the very beginning. It's the reason the sound of a crying baby is so hard to ignore. It's the reason people will jump out into traffic to save a child in danger. It's one of the few reasons I have any faith in humanity. 2. Why women first? Okay this one is trickier. I think it is partially based on the fact that they traditionally have been the main caregivers to the children, whom without them might not survive. (see answer to question 1). It is also wrapped up in what are often looked at as outdated notions of us big strong men being the protector and provider for the "weaker" sex. There is chivalry and nobility in it. Heroism has always been seen as a desirable male trait, while cowardice is definitely not. While the reasons why may be outdated, I have a lot of respect for those who put others before themselves, and zero respect for anyone who would push a woman, child, or anyone for that matter out of the way to save themselves. Call me old fashioned........

1 pointA couple of things on this. First, we've lost a few members who contributed a lot and initiated a lot of discussion; they've left, or faded away, or just don't post much any more. Newer folks haven't really replaced them. Maybe it's the new legal climate, maybe it isn't. I don't know why, and I don't know what - if anything - we can do about it. There's also a bit of change in perspective. When I first started reading this board, everything was new and interesting. Now, some of the stuff that I found fascinating back then is a bit... "Oh, God. Not this thread again." I think the folks who have been around a bit longer and have seen pretty much the same thread a dozen times need to remember that there are always going to be people who haven't, and newer members aren't going to find that thread from six months ago which is now on page 14 of the forum index. The board may not now be the same as it was when I first joined... but neither am I the same as I was when I first joined. Nor is anyone else who's been around for a while. As for debates/discussions... yes, the balance here is difficult. Ideally people disagreeing will do so nicely, and people being disagreed with won't take it personally, but none of us are perfect. There's a difference between vehemently disagreeing with what someone wrote and attacking that person, but many of us have differing opinions on where the boundary between the two lies. It's even harder in a written forum where the subtleties of tone of voice are completely absent and comments posted in a light-hearted spirit are misinterpreted. The laws have had some effect... but I think this is limited. Yes, the ladies have to advertize differently, but they seem to be managing. Recos can't be as explicit as they once were... but I've never really liked the play-by-play accounts much, so I'm afraid I don't care about that :). And we now can't ask questions like, "I'm looking for someone who offers..." which is kinda annoying. I hope this will change.
