I have attended every social in the past 4 years. For those of you that ever had to organise a kids birthday party and know the headaches about that, then imagine an adult party with booze. Ten times the headaches. My very sincere appretiation to Loneskater and Alexandra for their efforts and to all the others that have organized such wonderful events in the past. The interest, just wasn't there by Lyla/Cerb members at this time. Hopefully, it will be there at Christmas. Let's hope that the great people that make these events possible aren't discouraged and that there will be a Christams social. BTW, the first social that I attended was a Christmas Social and besides the regular social fee, you were expected to bring an unwrapped childs gift or make a 5 dollar donation for toy mountain. Lets make Christmas happen for all!

Yes, OPS did check out many asian massage parlours to get info, but the 3 places busted were in private houses in residential areas. Human trafficking was the issue, not to do with anything else.

This nameless agency seems to have the best asians in Kingston and Kelly is the best of them all so far. She is a cute little spinner and greeted me enthusiastically at the door. Kelly had a very nice item of clothing on and wrapped her arms around me as I walked in like I had gone away for a week and she really missed me. Only this was the first time we met. We kissed before I even got my shoes off. Quickly we went to the bedroom and disrobed. We skipped the SF2 as I was her first client of the day and we were both fresh. ad content is also stolen - i have seen it multiple times. the owners need to contact bp directly, show proof of their ownership of the pics. bp doesn't take kindly to copyright infringement issues, it is against the law to use photos without owner's consent, whoever owns the copyright on those could go thru bp, so bp doesn't play, they will remove the photos. people who would not dip into someone's pocket and steal their money think nothing of stealing creative works, like pics, where that person should be getting paid for the use of their photos. so there is no situation where this is OK

I agree with herelookin. These arrests were almost certainly very targeted by Ottawa Police Services for asian spas, many of which are very marginal (to say the least) in terms of the respect they show for the women who work for them. Frankly, good for Ottawa Police Services to try to stop what is going on in that part of the industry! For most massage parlours, particularly licensed ones, there is absolutely no need to worry, I would say. bellafan

I'm thinking this had to do MORE with human trafficking than being massage places. This was the second time the same person was arrested for the same activity...

I think if the quality is there the price is reasonable.

I realize it was not smart that I had the extra cash on me. I was not driving and when I got there it dawned on me. I put it in my back button-up pocket. I kept my items with me, but after the service she offered me a shower before I left, and suggested I take my clothes with me. I originally posted that it was then that she had taken it. But just before the service, she asked me to go into the bathroom to get something for her. That's probably when she went through my stuff. Again, not smart of me, but it's still theft. And she is currently posting ads on BP under MULTIPLE names, Olivia, Brittany, Brittany b*&ch, Forbidden Fruit, etc. Does that not seem a little shady? And when I checked my pocket and realized the money was gone, I told her that if she didn't fork it over, I was going to warn people about her. That exact same day, she stopped using the face pics she posted before that, and started posting ads under another name. I don't doubt people have had good experiences with her. I had seen a couple positive comments about her awhile ago on this site. That's why I decided to set up a meet.

I know. Sex without consent is rape, period. Nothing else about one's life changes that. There's SO MUCH that's repugnant going on here... the author's breezy dismissal of sex workers as full human beings in the forefront. Smug... judgmental... narrow-minded... prudish. I can't really find the term or combination of terms to capture how ugly I find the article. What also sickens me is the way that something like this... written by a woman no less... can go to reinforce such prejudice in the general community. I guess that's what prompted me to post it: OH MY GOD there are actually people who think like this, AND who would put it down on paper to show others, AND they likely find like-minded readers who nod approvingly, AND she might sway people who haven't stopped to think about this before to her point of view. Arrgh. So much anger.

Well I don't know much about the industry in Winnipeg or about how these particular arrests might seem to the participants in the industry in that area so my comments here should really be taken as my general thoughts about the industry based on my experiences over the year in a few markets across the country. From my perspective it is pretty obvious that the sex industry certainly does have its element of exploiters who look to take advantage of sex workers who find themselves in difficult situations and that this element is more likely to be seen at the street level. Now I am not saying that everyone who works in the industry at the street level is being exploited just that I think the risks in that part of the industry are much greater and the elements of our society that look to take advantage might focus more where they think there is greater vulnerability. If the police is Winnipeg are operating on this type of premises and focusing on eliminating the exploitative elements then I guess this could be a good thing. My concern I guess is that we have often seen people professing to want to "save" sex workers when in reality the steps they take only make life for the sex worker more difficult and risky. You want to do something to remove the exploitative element out of the industry make it legal and apply the same safe work legislation to sex workers that you do to others. I recently saw a tweet from a lady who may need surgery and she commented that their are no medical benefits or EI in this business... There are so many things that could be done but we seem to instead want to only focus on the application of legal repercussion on one or the other parties to this industry. We used to persecute the sex worker and now we want to persecute the client. I think things are changing but we have a very long way to go. Just my Opinion
