The response was rather encouraging. She begins speaking about prostitution at about 2:45 mins. into the video, and states that she will be looking at repealing and/or amending the bill, and will hold consultations with those directly impacted by the legislation.

Personally I'm leery of the "specials". Makes me wonder if there's something up or if the provider would be giving it their all. I prefer to pay their standard rate, treat them with respect, and be treated with respect.

I'd be more inclined to say that racism is inextricable from criminalization. Given the enormous power that exists for LE to decide which laws to enforce and on whom to enforce them, I'd have thought that legalization would help. Given how much this one's being talked about and how excited a lot of people seem to be about it, I suspect it'll be quite hard to walk back from. But, yeah, it's far from a done deal. So should we ban everything else that people enjoy that can't be proven beneficial? Alcohol? Tobacco? Pop? Cookies? Weed is far less harmful than quite a few things that are widespread and widely accepted, and I see no harm with allowing people to have some vices. I consider "Because I like to" to be a perfectly valid reason. I'm not convinced by the merits of criminalizing pleasure. Driving high already happens. Yes, potency has gone up... but if it's legalized, then that'll make it much easier to know how strong the stuff you're smoking is because it can be printed on the packaging, much like the alcohol content of the beer you may be drinking at this moment. And that means that we can make informed decisions rather than just relying on guesswork. As an aside - this is one of the big reasons I prefer legalization to decriminalization on this one. And yes, people will still make bad choices and do stupid things. And innocent people will get injured and die. But as I said, that already happens.

Okay, a couple of things to say here. First... I've found that massage rates tend to be reasonably consistent between the major spas (including P/AT) and independent providers. You're usually looking at 180-ish for an hour; it may be a bit more or less depending on where you go and what options you want (or don't want) where those exist. For the spas that only publish a door fee rather than an all-in rate, you can do the math yourselves. Don't ask me about other lengths of appointment because I tend not to go for those :) Second, a word to those people making snarky comments about people with long-standing accounts asking questions like this: it's perfectly possible to have been involved in this industry for a long time without ever going to a spa. Maybe those folks have only seen escorts in the past. Maybe they've stuck to indy providers, where it's much easier to ask questions directly of the person who you'll be with. Or maybe they haven't been involved with this industry for a while; people do end up doing things like having monogamous relationships, sometimes for years at a time, without playing away from home while they do. An account with few posts that's been around for a long time and hasn't been to a spa is not inherently suspicious. None of that means that anyone should feel obliged to answer PM'd questions from people with no posting record - hell, I quite often don't myself, and I'm far more likely to help out other members who do things like post recommendations - but if we could hold back on the open scorn and hostility, it'd be nice.
