I think it helps to remember that when the women here see their clients, it's as professionals, not as personal "dates". Their service and time don't become less valuable based on who their client happens to be. Imagine that your question was instead: "Hey, all you female dentists/mechanics/psychotherapists! Would you serve JT free of charge because he's gorgeous and the PM!?" The answer, of course, would be be "not a chance!" And so it's not surprising you're seeing the same response here. It's always tricky comparing this work to other professions, but in this case I think it applies well.

I have had men in position of power attempting to play the high profile card with me. My response has always been the same: when we are together, I am the Queen, and your social status is therefore irrelevant. I however get all putty in the hands of modest and humble men :)

Someone in a position of power/status/etc would have more than enough income to compensate a professional companion for her time and companionship. It has been discussed many times on this board about no negotiating, no discounts such as student discounts etc. Why should someone in a position of power/status, someone who has the resources to properly compensate a lady expect a freebie? Hey folks. The Winnipeg Working Group has heard a rumour that the police are planning hotel busts leading up to the Grey Cup, and will be targeting "repeat buyers". This doesn't mean that you should stop seeing SPs, just be careful, and remember that if something looks too good to be true it probably is. This community has lots of tips on having safe encounters and there are many established and reputable SPs around. Service providers, also please be careful. This campaign is part of the belief that sex trafficking increases during big sporting events (it doesn't). One known tactic that the police employ is to pose as a client, book an appointment and then show up with half a dozen cops to "offer resources" and make sure you're not being trafficked or coerced. We don't know if this will be happening but I wouldn't be surprised, and it would be both a waste of time and really upsetting to have this happen.

As a child of the late 60's and early 70's the anthems of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez still ring true to me. Justice and freedom are very important to me and as those artists did in their own way through their music and as anti Vietnam war protesters did in their way, Canadians this past week called for their own freedom and their own quest for justice with the overwhelming choice to dump the Harper agenda and his way of dictating. Mr. Trudeau made many election promises and now that he is in the real world it shall be of great interest to me and to many whether he will honor those promises. The promise that probably should be of common interest to all of us here is his opposition to Bill C-36 which has become the bill entitled the, "Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act." There have been references to this in other threads with the general feeling seeming to be that it will not be a priority for Mr. Trudeau to change and therefore we should not expect the repeal of the legislation to happen at least in the short term. Despite being a political junkie and following it closely I am probably one of the least politically aware people in the country about how things actually happen. My own thought is that if it is going to happen then it will have to happen relatively early in his mandate because once another election draws near in four years it would become a political football. This brings me to the point of this thread. When the Supreme Court of Canada struck down the old laws in order to remove dangerous working conditions for sex workers there were many of us here who wrote letters to our Members of Parliament, to the Minister of Justice and to the Prime Minister, all without success. The Conservatives had plotted their course and did what they were going to do regardless of facts or research or the Supreme Court decision. I will argue that now is the time for another writing campaign to our new Members of Parliament, to our new Prime Minister and to the new Minister of Justice once he or she is appointed. As well, since the Supreme Court decision came down I have sent $50 a month, or at least most months, to P.O.W.E.R in order to give my little bit by way of support. It is organizations such as P.O.W.E.R out of Ottawa, and STELLA out of Montreal and P.I.V.O.T out of B.C. that may well be the organizations of sex worker advocates that exert formal, "Pressure," on the new government to repeal the law and decriminalize. Any little bits of financial support that you can send their way may be a wonderful personal investment for each and every one of us. I shall do my letter writing to parliamentarians and continue my little bits of financial support to sex worker rights advocates. I hope that many of us will do the same. Now is not the time to sit back but rather the time to become active and vocal again.

Having dealt with people who have had some sort of position or power or status in my line of work ( and whose names will NEVER be mentioned as I'm like Vegas) I would have to decline completely. I would hope that the new Liberal government does the right thing by either repealing C-36 outright, or at the very least refering the issue to the SCC. Today on the news, reporters were talking about Conservative bills that are due to be repealed / amended, according to Justin Trudeau. They mentioned C-24 and C-51... that's it. Nothing said about C-36 whatsoever, so it's up to us to get the word out and keep the pressure on!

The Conservatives just got their ass handed to them on a platter so if the government acted fast to repeal or amend the current law I think it would be extremely doubtful that the conservative senators would be willing to challenge the authority of a newly elected house of parliament over a prostitution law... maybe over a financial issue but not this law as there is no upside for them and let's face it the Senate wants to protect themselves. The problem as I see it is that it does not seem likely to me that this will be a high priority item for the new government... I hope it is but I am doubtful. Just m Opinion

I have an idea.... If that were a likely scenerio, what if we just asked the Liberals to refer the isue to the SCC? I believe the high court would undoubtedly strike down the current legislation. Then we would be in position where the government could simply let the exiting laws fall, without the need to write new ones which could potentially be voted down by the Senate. In effect, we would have a defacto decriminalization of the industry. Admittedly, my knowledge about the courts and the legislative process is a bit scant, so if there is an error with my reasoning, please point it out. However, it seems like it could work...

Okay, a couple of things to say here. First... I've found that massage rates tend to be reasonably consistent between the major spas (including P/AT) and independent providers. You're usually looking at 180-ish for an hour; it may be a bit more or less depending on where you go and what options you want (or don't want) where those exist. For the spas that only publish a door fee rather than an all-in rate, you can do the math yourselves. Don't ask me about other lengths of appointment because I tend not to go for those :) Second, a word to those people making snarky comments about people with long-standing accounts asking questions like this: it's perfectly possible to have been involved in this industry for a long time without ever going to a spa. Maybe those folks have only seen escorts in the past. Maybe they've stuck to indy providers, where it's much easier to ask questions directly of the person who you'll be with. Or maybe they haven't been involved with this industry for a while; people do end up doing things like having monogamous relationships, sometimes for years at a time, without playing away from home while they do. An account with few posts that's been around for a long time and hasn't been to a spa is not inherently suspicious. None of that means that anyone should feel obliged to answer PM'd questions from people with no posting record - hell, I quite often don't myself, and I'm far more likely to help out other members who do things like post recommendations - but if we could hold back on the open scorn and hostility, it'd be nice.

I've recently met a few new women lately that did not kiss. Sessions were good, but not as much fun with out the kissing and cuddling. thanks cat. this post has lifted my spirits a little more. the site has grown so large that I really can't do it on my own and I have been pushing myself this last year to a breaking point. people are constantly complaining and everyone seams to feel they need to tell me how to do things. most people do not consider that they are just one person demanding my time with frivolous complaints, whining and my favorite... redundant bitching (when they just repeat themselves over and over than get pissed off when I tell them where to go or remove them) with the site growing so large we have 10 times more spammers (you rarely see these as I remove them before you ever see them... only a few get by recentlybecause some exploit exists that has not been patched yet that allows the spammers to circumvent the moderation queue) .. I would estimate 300+ spam posts are removed each month. title infractions.... we don't want the site to lookk like cl with all the crazy post titles trying to out do the next one and gain the most attention... so i have very specific rules to stop this and i use to take the time to pm each person and tell them what they did wrong... i found that even when i took the time people would ignore the pm and continue to break the rules so now i just delete the post and give them a infraction with a link to the rules.. I get people every day wasting my time asking me to elaborate on what they did wrong... did they read the link with the rules??? NO... They are just wasting my time. about 300 posts a month break this rule and more than 1/2 of them break the rule over and over again. This is disrespectful and these people do not deserve to use the site so I just keep deleting the ad posts and eventually just remove them. if they are literate enough to post an ad they can dam well read the rules or they are not welcome here. when I suspend someone (especially a SP or a male member with 50+ posts) i get people PM me (who only hear one side of the story) demanding I let them back or telling me I was wrong or calling me a dictator. These people run to the other sites and tell everyone how horrible I am (and really that did not bother me in the past but now its getting a little annoying).. FINALLY... we have those idiots who post shit like "I am affraid to post on cerb because I will get in trouble" or "I know the rule is... hopefully the mod does not remove me" or the really big idiots who want to fight with me on the site and don't think I have the balls to kick them off!! Yes, it wears on me!! Yes, I am done with it and yes I would not wish this job on anyone. Cat probably meant to post this in the PRIVATE area away from public view but we can let everyone know. I am done and I am working on a way to keep the site moving forward. We are looking for a way to have the community help moderate the site (Myself, the SP's who have SP ONLY access and the ELITE members have a private discussion thread where we are trying to come up with a solution that will keep the site moving forward and keep the integrity of the site alive. I have confidence in our members (Most of them) and I think a few should be removed who are trouble makers but I will leave that up to the people who will take my place as the decision makers. This is not open for public debate but if you are an elite member or a SP ONLY member you are welcome to comment in the private area and have your say. We would love to hear any idea's. If you are not able to see that area please DO NOT pm me. My PM is very busy and full with all this. I am willing to help the transition go forward smoothly (I am not walking away tomorrow or anything) I will continue forward and make sure the site is in good hands before I move on. I will probably always be part of the site in some sort of way (System admin, Server Admin, Software upgrades, etc... after all I am a computer guy and not a politian).

Democracy is rife with "what ifs". Who moderates who? Who is to be trusted to be impartial and unbiased? This is an online, virtual, anonymous community. I would not want to be in charge of finding anyone perfect enough to meet the requirements of monitoring this board, as there is not one participant that doesn't have biases and self interest at hand, while still pleasing the masses that seem to demand their perception of perfection instead of practical application. Given the pettiness, immaturity and nonsense I have seen on the board lately, I would gladly choose to have MOD continue as always and permanently ban the whiners, complainers and shit disturbers. The manipulation and games would push anyone over the fragile edge. I know many "valued" participants would be gone but it would give CERB a fresh start and I for one would be glad to see them go. MOD is constantly taken for granted by both hobbiest and SP alike. Has anyone ever thought of what would happen if CERB were shut down? I mean literally, off the air. Having this board is a privilege not a right. It costs nothing to participate and we all gain from it, but it costs $$$, time, heart and soul to run it. This whole "democracy" issue should have never happened. Who has the right to question and complain about MODs decisions to begin with? It's his board, which means his game, his rules!!! He has the right to make decisions without backlash or complaint from anyone in any form. If you don't like his decisions, LEAVE. There are other boards out there for you to participate on. Don't like those, start your own board. To all of those who have pushed MOD to this, those who complained and pitched hissy fits, give your head a shake, grow up and get a life. You have brought this on CERB. It would serve all those involved if MOD decided to simply close up shop and move on to something that doesn't require hyperbaric sensory deprivation treatments to maintain his sanity. You know who you are. All of you who chose to PM him, giving him a hard time about bans and suspensions. All of you who question his decisions. All of you who take petty squabbles to him instead of being an adult and taking the high road. All of you who feel it's more important to be right than it is to be happy. Life doesn't always work out the way you want it to. Accept it and move on. For those who have been banned, take responsibility for your part in it and....move on. Perhaps if some apologies and self policing were implemented, this would all go away. Use a little common sense and empathy from now on and maybe all of this can be resolved without complicating life any more than it already is. cat
