One small point that seems to have become lost in the fear over the last few days: the people who pulled that shit in Paris on Friday are the same people that the Syrian refugees are trying to get away from.

I really like to see a girl ride her own motorcycle. There is something sexy about it. Is it me that likes a girl that is a tomboy, I don't know, maybe !

Playing with a couple is a lot of fun, and choosing the right woman to join you is key. IMHO i think its important to: *Choose close to her age. If your SO has body/breasts are firm, don't book an older sp who doesn't. Likewise, don't book a 19yr old hottie, unless that's her fantasy. *Ask/Pay for some social time first and flirt over a glass of wine before you move to the bedroom. *If your SO is to be the center of attention, ask exactly how interactive the sp will be. Details, what will she do to your SO. *Have some toys around so the women can use them on each other *Let the sp know if your SO is trimmed, shaved, etc. *Donation varies greatly for couple play. Some charge "a little more", some charge "double" .. *Afterwards, give your SO lots of attention. LOTS. You lucky guy ;-) Have fun ;-) Porscha

The Dealerships are a big rip off. I was taking my car to them because I get a loaner car and can go on about my day without having to take the day off work. I stopped doing that now I recently found a local mechanic and he said My air filter and hasn't been changed in two years, he showed it to me. Imagine all the toxins I was breathing in. The dealer was supposed to be doing this. So I was paying big bucks for them to do basically nothing to my car. The dealer was charging me 160 to put on my winter tires (they arent on rims)my new guy charged me 60 bucks. He saved me 100$. I will be wiser now lol!

Repeated for emphasis. I dropped a long time favourite because of this. I regularly booked two or three hour sessions but she could not go more than fifteen minutes without checking her phone. It got to the point where she kept it right beside us on the bed. She didn't see it as an issue. People who are phone addicts don't realise it.

I listened to a top U.S. Terror expert say it will take 18-24 months to properly vet a Syrian refugee to assure safety. It is not possible that Canada can process 25,000 in 44 days. This an extremely dangerous proposition.

I am disappointed by all of the anti-immigration and anti-refugee talk. Put it this way: if someone from Paris wanted to immigrate to Canada, claiming they felt unsafe in France, would we let them? We wouldn't be having this discussion, it would just happen. The only reason the Syrian refugees are looked at differently is because they are Muslim. It's racism, and that's not a claim I throw around lightly or often. I'm not saying everyone is a bigot, I'm just saying that when we're afraid of something we let our emotional lizard brain run with it's categorization and labelling, and in this case we are (admit it) looking at every Muslim as a potential terrorist until proven otherwise. It's disheartening. And, inevitable. But, we can choose to let our rational minds rule the day and override those emotional leanings. If we don't, we've let terrorism push the humanity out of our hearts that much more, and become more like them.

As mentioned above, it appears as if the new government is planning to move quickly on exploring what wrongs of Mr. Harper and Mr.McKay need to be righted. P.M. Trudeau has publicly released his letters of mandate to his new cabinet ministers. His letter to Ms. Wilson-Raybould includes the following paragraph. "You should conduct a review of the changes in our criminal justice system and sentencing reforms over the past decade with a mandate to assess the changes, ensure that we are increasing the safety of our communities, getting value for money, addressing gaps and ensuring that current provisions are aligned with the objectives of the criminal justice system." Bill C-36 is not specifically mentioned so I reiterate that now is the time to write as a concerned Canadian. During the so called review process prior to the law being implemented it appeared as if many Cerb (Lyla) members wrote to a government that couldn't have cared less. Who knows what the Liberals will do but give them a chance to show that they care. If they think that you don't care then no legislation changes will be no ones fault but our own. Write a damn letter....please.

So guys be careful , and if you have concerns about privacy because of your job or family id stay away , I was told a investigating officer will drop by my home sometime if he had more questions

I was getting ready for an early flight to Toronto, and don't do mornings very well. So, I decided to wash my hair, so I wouldn't have to do it in the morning. After I washed it, I reached for the mousse, and put it in. However something was not quite right. I then looked at my mousse, and realized it was the flea treatment for the cats. My hair was silky shiny, and not a flea in sight. Gawd. When I got married, my son was a newborn, and I nursed him. We were piss poor, and I couldn't afford the proper pads nursing mums use. So, I would cut a period pad in half, and use them instead. I borrowed a beautiful white dress for the occasion. We got married, and afterwards at the reception, I had to take my baby to nurse him. My new sister in law (all of 8 years old), wanted to come with me. Once we got to the washroom, she turns to me and asks... "Why do your Breasts say "always?" I'm a bit confused..... She says again, "your breasts, they say always." Then it hits me, I didn't remove the wrapping to the sticky part. I'm like looking in the mirror, and sure enough, it's clear as day. Not one adult mentioned this, it was an 8 year old child. I later asked my new husband, did you notice it? He replied yes, I asked him why he didn't mention it, and his reply was I thought that was your wedding present to me.

Hi there I thought I would start a thread on Car's. With all these members here I thought we could share some knowledge on the topic of buying and fixing cars. I'm sure there are some members here that are car salesman and mechanics. I've bought quite a few cars in the last 30 years and have learnt a bit. The last 10 days, I've had to fix 3 cars, which had one problem after another :( Tips in buying a car. Do you research. -Buy an hour before the dealership closes, this way they wont' keep you negotiation for 3 to 4 hrs. They will close the deal quick if they can. - Buy the last day of the month. They have quota's to fill and have to pay another month's lease for the car on their lot. - If you want a particular colour, or model of the car and it's not on their lot, they can get it from another dealership, but will have to pay the other dealership a fee. the car I wanted was 900. - be willing to get up and walk out, if they want your money, they will come get you with a better dealership. - They make a huge markup on the rust proofing, extra warranty and rust proofing. - The last 2 car's I bought I used CarCostCanada.com. They will show you the dealer's cost of the car and the cost of the options. You can use this knowledge to get the best price with little negotiation. - Don't tell them you have a trade-in till you negotiate the price of the New car. Otherwise they will play around with the price of the trade in to make it seem like you got a better deal. Car Repair tips. -If it's not under warranty, most repairs will cost you at least twice as much as a independent garage. -The oil change place will try to up sell you on there other products and services that you may or may not need. But fluid changes are much cheaper then the dealer. A cabin air filter will cost you almost half the price and free installation. Services are cheaper at these places. They will do light bulb changes for free, but may cost a bit more for the light bulb. But some times changing a lightbulb in the tail light is a pain. If you can use a independent service garage that is recommended do so. There hourly rates range from 50 to 90 an hour, Where as a dealer rates is 110 - 130. I can usually get the same job done for half at a garage. I have also found good mechanics and mobile guys that charge as little as 45/hr and they come to your house to fix the cars. Another thing I started doing, is buying my own parts. I buy them from a place called CAPS if you are in Ottawa. Regular customers get a discount and mechanics get a better discount. For example the list price of brake rotors are about a 100. My price is 37 to 40. Calipers are around 50 but you pay a core charge of 75 which you get back when you bring back the part. So dealers charge you full price and make money when the return the part and charge you a lot for labour. They give you a book rate of 2 hrs. Where I have seen a mechanic do the same job in 45 minutes. My brother in law used to be a mechanic, and he said if he wanted to, he could always find a problem to fix. Watching some TV shows, they show how some of these places scam the customers into expensive repairs that are not needed, and sometimes not even done. You can get good deals on parts online or at some part's store. Some parts you can get and the junk yard. Instead of doing expensive body work, you can sometimes find the body panel in the same colour as your car and just have it installed. Places like Mida's where they guarantee their brakes for life, make their money on the installation of the replacement brakes, They may charge you over a hundred dollars to replace the brake pads that cost them 25 dollars. Get a good mechanic thru word of mouth of friends and neighbours. A good mechanic is worth his weight in gold. An inexperience mechanic may take several tries to find a hard to diagnose problem. This week I had 3 cars to fix, problem after problem. 6 sets of brakes, tire changes, snow tire installation, oil changes, While leaving the garage, my driver side power windows fell into the door. Had to get the window regulator, These I got the indy mechanic to fix with me supplying the parts at very good price. Dealer will charge 400 to 800 to fix brakes. I paid 200 to 250 depending on the quality that I wanted. Brought 1 car to the dealer for the 99 dollar winter special. Ended up costing me 1500, they wanted 2500, but I will bring the brakes to my mechanic. Told my mechanic what they charged and he said he could have done it for 800. Last of all, after all these car repairs, my daughter came home with a flat tire, that I had to deal with. My first time using a jack to change tires :( That's all I have share for now. Hope to get any more tips or interesting auto buying or repair stories. Anybody been scammed. Please share so that other's will not make the same mistake.

I am wondering what measures you ladies take to keep yourself safe when going on an out call? I am contemplating doing out calls but I am worried about my safety. Do you get to know that person first, do you inform someone of your whereabouts, are they some products out there that I should purchase to protect myself, and how do you handle an aggressive or rude client? Thank you in advance for your input. Pillowchats

As a child of the late 60's and early 70's the anthems of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez still ring true to me. Justice and freedom are very important to me and as those artists did in their own way through their music and as anti Vietnam war protesters did in their way, Canadians this past week called for their own freedom and their own quest for justice with the overwhelming choice to dump the Harper agenda and his way of dictating. Mr. Trudeau made many election promises and now that he is in the real world it shall be of great interest to me and to many whether he will honor those promises. The promise that probably should be of common interest to all of us here is his opposition to Bill C-36 which has become the bill entitled the, "Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act." There have been references to this in other threads with the general feeling seeming to be that it will not be a priority for Mr. Trudeau to change and therefore we should not expect the repeal of the legislation to happen at least in the short term. Despite being a political junkie and following it closely I am probably one of the least politically aware people in the country about how things actually happen. My own thought is that if it is going to happen then it will have to happen relatively early in his mandate because once another election draws near in four years it would become a political football. This brings me to the point of this thread. When the Supreme Court of Canada struck down the old laws in order to remove dangerous working conditions for sex workers there were many of us here who wrote letters to our Members of Parliament, to the Minister of Justice and to the Prime Minister, all without success. The Conservatives had plotted their course and did what they were going to do regardless of facts or research or the Supreme Court decision. I will argue that now is the time for another writing campaign to our new Members of Parliament, to our new Prime Minister and to the new Minister of Justice once he or she is appointed. As well, since the Supreme Court decision came down I have sent $50 a month, or at least most months, to P.O.W.E.R in order to give my little bit by way of support. It is organizations such as P.O.W.E.R out of Ottawa, and STELLA out of Montreal and P.I.V.O.T out of B.C. that may well be the organizations of sex worker advocates that exert formal, "Pressure," on the new government to repeal the law and decriminalize. Any little bits of financial support that you can send their way may be a wonderful personal investment for each and every one of us. I shall do my letter writing to parliamentarians and continue my little bits of financial support to sex worker rights advocates. I hope that many of us will do the same. Now is not the time to sit back but rather the time to become active and vocal again.

A good point was made earlier in this thread that there is a lot of poverty right here...homelessness, hunger etc. Helping them should be the priority. Helping the Syrians through Intn'l aid is a good option. As for admitting them to this country...our safety is primary importance. I'm sure I'm not up for taking any chances on that...for all our sakes.

I worked at a new car dealership for 5 years. Don't be fooled by 0 % financing. 9 out of 10 customers bought from me because they wanted 0% financing. The price they paid for an SUV was 34,000 with 0% financing. The same vehicle could be bought for 27,000 without 0% financing (ie do your own loan or line of credit ) . One year later the vehicle depreciates to 25,000 dollars. For the guy who paid 27,000 thats not bad. For the guy who paid 34,000 plus all the fees and taxes(38,800) if he writes off his car it's worth 25000 and he still owes 32000 it really sucks.

I buy my own oil & OEM filters and get a local guy to do it, partly because I am particular about what oil brand I use and it ends up being cheaper. ^ some good tips there. I am a member of a Subie users forum and I plan to see if I can ask what people paid for the cars when I eventually trade in my current ride & buy something more practical Correct me if I am wrong but a 2-5% markup over dealers real cost (includes manuf rebates to them) is fair

I used APA to get me the best price on a new car. told them what I wanted and they gave me a price. I used that to negotiate with the local dealer (the best price was in Montreal). Wound up getting a better price - end of the month, Friday at 5 pm... That said, Ottawa is a bad place to buy cars. There is very little competition. Basically there are 4 or 5 families that own all the stealerships. Beyond the concentration of market power, they fix prices for service. I once received a fax by accident - they were doing a survey amongst themselves... we pay mechanics x we charge y...

I've always done outcalls and you at least have the option of not seeing the client ever again if he acts up.....and he does not know where you live. clients show up for incalls drunk or high ALL the time so just doing incalls does not avoid that. customers can "act up" or be violent ANYWHERE. there is no avoiding that it is part of this occupation. the craigslist serial killer in the U.S. was murdering sp's working out of hotel rooms and recemtly a Canadian sp was shot out east in a decent hotel. violence can happen anywhere. do what you are comfortable doing. everyone has different comfort levels - some prefer providing incalls while others prefer outcalls. everyone is different.

I agree with this. It's yet another reason why trying to put up a virtual wall now offers only an illusion of security, purchased at the expense of the 25,000 desperate human beings we thereby leave stranded. We have a working intelligence agency and police network. They're further helped by the cooperation of peaceful and diligent communities who already raise flags about potentially violent radicals in their midst. Let our authorities do their jobs. Meanwhile we can do Canada's traditions proud by taking care of tens of thousands of desperate people who need our help right now.

IMO, I would advise against going to a client's home. I do not do outcalls to homes with the exception of 2 regulars and they are both disabled. Unless you can verify that they have a landline and listed with 411, anyone can book a fake appointment and give a false address. You just don't know what you're walking into. With regards to outcalls at hotels, ask for their first and last name and be sure that they are in their room to answer the call. Go to upscale major hotels only and no sketchy or seedy motels. If they give you the name, verify it with the front desk and ask to have your call put through to their room. If they refuse to give their registered name, I'd advise against going. Again, could be a fake booking and if your safety is compromised, you don't have anything to fall back on. The biggest weapon you can use is your intuition. Listen to it. Ask to speak to them on the phone and chat for a few minutes. Anything used to protect yourself can be used against you and in most cases illegal. If you decide to go to a hotel, have someone to call and give them the name and info beforehand. Call when you're in the room, and have a secret way between you and a trusted friend if something is wrong and then you have a way out. I have done this a couple of times when I didn't feel right. I will also not engage in alcohol with a client because you could be slipped something in your drink. I just say "no thanks" and that I do not drink for personal reasons. Some people will try to push for this but stand your ground.. If I did drink with clients, I wouldn't drink it unless I saw them open it and peel the wrapper off with the cap or take off the corkscrew. Even then if your drink is left unattended or you turned your back. I won't trust anyone in these situations. When you're done, call when you're leaving while still in the room and when you have left the building. I always tell the client while in the room at the beginning of my boundaries. Also I tell them my restrictions on the phone. I make it very clear and if they are looking for something I don't offer, they need to find someone else to meet. If they persist in asking in person, I warn them that it won't work out and I will be leaving and that someone is downstairs to get me who knows where I am. Anyone intoxicated upon arrival, make up a story and leave. You do not want a confrontation with a drunk person who will most likely insist that it's okay and that they are safe. Not likely when someone has consumed too much and you can't predict their behavior. Some guys sound okay on the phone an hour or two before but if they've hit up the hotel lounge downstairs for drinks, it could be an entirely different story once you get there. Always be on alert for that. Don't do anything if you don't feel right about the person. There will always be another client waiting in the wings. Safety is paramount while money is secondary in these situations. I no longer do outcalls except for those 2 regulars who I trust.

I have no problem with helping those in need especially when in crisis but at the same time WE (Canada) has already recieved threats from ISIS and I really think we need to think of our safety right now The world is a very scarey place to live in right now and with everything going on I am afraid for my children my family and friends and the world What type of screening process would honestly be able to predict that one of those young men coming into Canada isn't with ISIS? This is reality people and we as a whole need to open ours eyes to what is going on I am really conflicted with this because I do feel for those innocent families who need safety and a way out as well...

"Sure, we could just blindly throw up a solid wall and refuse to help anyone at all, because we're in a panic and terrified that some plotters might slip into the country among the refugees. But even doing that doesn't guarantee that those same plotters won't just enter the country by other means anyway. And look at the cowards we'd have become in the process" It would be naive to think that they aren't already here in some shape and form and it's just a matter of when and where they'll strike not if. Peace MG

No doubt the promise was an election ploy that was cynically successful. Having said that, personally I'm for immigration and the more the better. We have the space and by and large new Canadians work hard and add to the economy and are thankful for the opportunities we so take for granted. Don't restrict it just to Syrian's though open the door to all who want to come here, not have to come here but want to come here. Peace MG

I personally turn my ringer off. Its a mood killer in my opinion. Its funny, when guys keep answering their phone.....I understand they are on call at work, and only have a brief time to get away, but it is distracting. However, I don't like answering my phone while I am entertaining, especially for another guy. They can wait till I am done, and if they can't wait, its not meant to be.

I recently had to go to the courthouse with a friend. I carry a large Coach bag, and it literally has EVERYTHING in it. Any who, there was a high profile trial going on, and they had the metal detecters and CT Scanners that everyone had to go through. So I put my purse in the basket to go through the CT Scanner, and I walk through the metal detecter and of course, my bag had to be checked because the officer said there was a pair of tweezers in my bag. So the officer empties out my bag to find these tweezers, but ends up finding my GIANT 8.5 INCH HOT PINK DILDO. Not only did he find my dildo, he waved around for everyone in the lobby of the courthouse to see. I think I died, resurrected myself, and died again. The worst part, it took the officer about 20 seconds to realize what he was waving around. Needless to say, he totally forgot about the tweezers. F.M.L. lol

It is quite possible that everyone here, sex workers and clients alike have been jaded by our experience of over a year ago. If you were on Cerb at that time you may well recall the thread about the New Prostitution Law and maybe you were a participant in all the work that was done to fight the new legislation. I know looking back that it leaves a sour taste in my mouth as I saw law makers ignore all of the emails, the Supreme Court, research and most of all, sex workers themselves. I continue to be optimistic that with a new government that appears to be willing to be open minded and fair, that we do have an opportunity. It will require I expect a little push not only from sex worker advocacy groups, but from individuals such as you and I as well. Despite our total lack of success the last time I shall continue encouraging everyone to be vocal and whatever campaign we mounted last time to double it. Wouldn't it be nice to have that law repealed before Joy Smith gets her hands on that $20 million to save women from making their own choices. In our parliamentary system we do have our processes and procedures, and these can take time. I really don't know if the government really does choose to repeal a bill what the steps are. Does it involve a first second and third reading? Are there mandatory committee hearings? Even with success in the House of Commons ultimately a Conservative Senate majority could choose to vote it down? I checked today on the Government of Canada site and the email addresses for our new Members of Parliament will not be available until the first week of November. When that is available I shall post the information. Please, despite our lack of success the last time, do not despair. Become vocal again and support the sex worker advocacy groups that are already out there that are no doubt working on this and deciding upon their approach. With Great Confidence, MN2
