For me the term seems fairly accurate. It's not a lifestyle. It's just something I do for fun occasionally and most terms and descriptions of 'us' are pretty negative and derogatory. Hobbyist seems fairly innocuous and I think if you were to look back you'd see that it arose precisely to have a term to call ourselves that doesn't make us sound like like criminal perverts. As has been said above, you're welcome to come up with a better term but I, for one, prefer having a little code that we use here that won't be part of the general vernacular.

Recently I had the opportunity to meet Naomi at Vibe and am I glad that I did! Not going to lie, I really hadn't been overly interested in seeing anyone for a massage this year for whatever reason. Until I took the time to check out Naomi's profile. There was just something about her that just really intrigued me. After a bit of back and forth between us, our schedules finally matched up and I booked. We all have to start somewhere so not having a reference is not always a deal breaker. RM is correct the best approach is to contact the lady you want to meet and respectfully explain your situation... many ladies who include references in their screening process also have alternatives they will use provided you are willing to be upfront with some verifiable information for them... just remember if your dealing with established reputable LYLA Ladies they will have already established their reputation for confidentiality and security so you will not be at any risk in providing them some personal information....their only interest in your information is so that they can effectively screen and ensure their safety. I think it's also fair to suggest that an established longer term presence here on this board can also be helpful to the process... while you have been a member of the board for almost a year you only have 2 posts so that will not tell them too much about you. We can't forget that most of the terms used in and around this industry (and that is truly what it is if we want to be completely honest with ourselves) were created to intentionally be vague. An 'insider language' that may pass unnoticed in the 'outside world'. I never gave the term hobbiest any more thought than that. I don't believe it was ever intended to be in any way disrespectful. Merely discreet. If some find it unintentionally offensive for some reason, then perhaps it is time for a new term, although I doubt you'll find one that achieves the goal of being discreet and offends nobody. The whole subject of sex and sexuality are too sensitive for that.

Next time you have a nice experience put up a review. That way, if you forget you can search for it yourself.

I would suggest contacting the lady that interests you in a respectful email (or her chosen method of communication) Introduce yourself, with your real name (first and last name) Contact information (phone and email) and let the lady know where you saw her advertisement. Then explain to her you don't have a reference. Likely she has other methods of screening. But being open with her at the outset by providing other screening information (name/phone/email etc) will make a good first impression to the lady Good Luck RG

I truly hope all of my friends have had a joyus and peaceful Christmas this year. Forgive me for not being in touch with you since I left for Cuba. Upon my return I was knocked out with bad pneumonia and sadly it took 3 Doctors to finally get the right meds! For this reason it has taken much longer than usuale to get better. I am not out of the woods yet. And may require time to get back my healthy glow and in shape. Plan on being tip top shape for my 41st Birthday on Jan 8:) Not long after that I will be having a pro photoshoot. So till then, stay happy and healthy and dont forget who loves ya babe!

There is a difference between legalization and decriminalization. Decriminalization is what we want... to have the same labour laws as any other form of labour. We already have laws on exploitation and human trafficking. Legalization means imposing laws and regulations specific to our trade. It may sound like a good idea, but if you look at areas like Nevada where brothels are regulated, you see things like workers not being able to leave the brothel for a set amount of time, unless they are under surveillance (eg. someone is with them) for fear that they could engage in sex off-site and nullify the mandatory testing done at the brothel. There are many reasons why people enter this industry; some people have criminal records (often prostitution charges) and regulating the industry means they might be barred from continuing to work legally, thus sending them further underground.

If you went for a great massage, then write a recommendation about your visit. This is the reason for Lyla, to post recommendations. I think your intent with this forum is to skirt Lyla policy about no negative reviews allowed by telling Lyla members to contact the poster via PM. If you had a great massage why would you want to keep it private Also I think the lady would much prefer a public recommendation versus it kept private Honestly, there are a lot of review boards that allow negative reviews. If you had a bad date or massage, post about it on one of those boards. I may be off the mark but if you want such a forum you need to contact Mod. He can decide and if he agrees he'll set it up. For these kind of enquiries, I don't see the need to share the details that you didn't want to put in the reco itself. Sorry, but that is just my POV. If you left out the details because of the sp request, or your own reasons, no one else needs to have the details, period. If they are asking about things the lady does not advertise, you simply say ask her. If they are asking about things she does advertise, you simply tell them to view her ads or website. I sometimes get the idea that some of the pms or replies in recos or reviews are the guy is too lazy to go find out for himself. Or as you suspect, might be only interested in juicy details.
