You think 350 is lots, lol, but again that is here in Canada. Guess you might think I'm crazy than, seeing a Companion in the USA and her rates are 600.00 an hour, I booked her, but not for an hour but a overnight together. (Her longer bookings is less than a her hourly rate) Can you imagine with the CDN AND USD exchange rate what that might of been? OMG...horrible isn't it < sarcasm ;) You see, its really not about the rate, (well for me anyways), it is about maturity,communication,timing and when I simply want to indulge. For those that use comparisons to cars,restaurants etc etc, in this thread, really should not do that. The ladies at either 200-240-300-350-600 rates are human beings they fulfill their life style, by their rate for service provided. We as gentlemen, should either except, or move on what is within our budget means. To those bashing the thread starter, I think he just asked a question, why different rates, if you read his last sentence. The answer is quite easy : BECAUSE THEY CAN :) it is their choice, their business. I've also met many ladies (MA's or SP's) and there was/is always a variance in rates, but that is choice, and we as gents have a choice, just make yours a wise choice that is within your monetary and budget. Oh and has nothing to do with if she thinks she is worth more at a higher rate, it is her CHOICE. ;) She may want to only see gents for longer engagements or only one to two gents a day, so rates are a little higher. I like the ladies that stay away from drama,they are the ladies that just might have higher rates, and are not constant complainers, on how telling us gents through media,boards constantly how we should behave for appointments. When I see that much negativity coming from same group of ladies, I just don't communicate with them. Life is suppose to be positive, and upbeat, not negative and constant lecturing, I'm an older guy and I prefer the ladies that act positive, upbeat and keep me smiling. I'm also much more selective at my older age, and I have been around long enough to know how to exactly conduct myself in this business. Peace out!

I get your question.. because you have a perceived.. 'going rate' going on in your head.. likely based on the experience you've had that the sp's you've seen offer that rate.. I did when I started.. BUT I've now got 25+ years of experience.. plus I'm well known (high exposure) so I have 'fans' that book me...so I increased my rates a bit more.. And my regulars still book me at my 'post-porn' rates You'd think that would result in fewer bookings.. but what it does in fact is allow me to be more choosy in who I see.. Clients who respect my rate.. usually respect me.. no matter what I charge. Clients (or rather prospective clients) who try to tell me I'm charging too much don't get very far. In fact I had one that sounded about 24 on the phone try to explain to me 'the going rate'.. so I laughed at him.. and said.. I've literally been at this longer than you've been alive and you think you can tell me 'the going rate'? Be serious! We didn't meet that day.. but eventually he'll either decide to book me respectfully at my rate or see someone else.. Either way it makes no difference to me. I can't please everyone. But while he's wistfully hoping I'll let him book me at his requested rate.. there's another absolutely lovely client not only paying my rate but tipping me after the fun session we've just had.. You do the math :) I don't think it's fair as some have suggested that ladies who charge $200/hr are running an assembly line. I know for a fact several ladies who charge much less and see way fewer clients than I do.. and some who charge more see way more clients! When I started in 1990 the rates were all over the map as well.. nothing has changed. We are not in a union after all :P

Discussing SP or MA rates in public is just rude. We do not have to justify our rates. Too expensive? Shake it off, and pass to the next.

I kind of fall in the shit happens camp so i think you need to be able to roll with the punches. I have been doing this now for well over 20 years and yes I have had cancellations by me and cancellations by ladies but in my experience it is very very rare for this to happen without some communication from the lady. I know on a few occasions I have been lied to by ladies (this is a very small community and just like the ladies talk so to do clients) but I decided a long time ago to not not spend too much time worrying about things I can't control... if she is a no call no show I do the same thing I would expect her to do... Don't book with the person any more and move on with life. In an ideal world every Client and every SP would act with 100% integrity and trust and honest would not be a problem but this is the real world not Disney World so we have to be realistic and expect that there will be Unreliable Clients and SP's... of course we should encourage good communication and not condone a*sshole behavior like NCNS but let's not over react when it actually happens. In my experience the best way for us guys to reduce the level of occurrence of type of behavior is to try and stick to well established well known ladies who have spent considerable time building a reputation for service in this industry...(side note and a reference to another recent thread on SP rates ... this is one of the things you are likely to get with that higher price) it won't guarantee no problems but it will certainly reduce the number of times you are disappointed. Frankly I would have to think hard to come up with very many problems like this that I have had with established well respected Lyla ladies usually when they make a booking it's solid. The less established ladies... who have a different name in every city they visit and generally book on a "just in time" basis tend to be much less reliable if you are not calling to book for right now or in the next few hours they tend in my experience to be just like the last minute clients pretty unreliable. I have seen ladies Ads that have caught my eye and tried to book for the next day and gotten responses like "that time tomorrow should be great but you will have to call me in the morning to confirm" that's not really the same as "great I have you booked for 3 pm please call me an hour before the appointment so we can confirm the location". All to often in the first example the ladies is not answering in the morning or is busy or whatever..... so I just move on. As for a plan B.... I am not sure how that works do I double book so I backup lady is available? Sure if I a traveling and have the the time and a lady backs out at the last minute I might improvise and check the ads to see if someone else is available on short notice but that's not always possible so I guess my Plan be is to just know that unfortunately associated with the great pleasure you can find in this industry there is also the reality of some frustration and disappointment so you have to take some of that bad with the good and just move on when it happens. For us guys the reality that there will be no show of a lady is a disappointment ... A pain in the a*ss undoubtedly but for the ladies when us clients don't show it can dramatically impact their livelihood ... it can mean that instead of a trip having a positive financial outcome then it can be a loss ... that risk too has to be built into their pricing hmmm no wonder this extracurricular activity is so expensive. Just my Opinion

Instead of telling her straight up you made other arrangements (which can be considered as rude), I suggest you tell her you preffer to book in advance. In your very first message, tell her at what time you would like to book, so she will know when to expect you. ''Hey 'her name'. How are you? This is 'your name'. Saw your ad on 'website'. Would you be available at 'time'?'' See the difference? Smoother, she knows exactly where to stand, and give you the proper response. If she replies she is available, be sure to confirm whereabouts and rates. I would be surprise she would be willing to discuss services, tho.

One of the great things about wild threads like this is that you get to see the providers with the most intelligent answers. Intelligence is a turn-on, and helps narrow down the providers you would see. :icon_twisted:

I've spent many times chatting with women and realize how much time and money is involved in there preparation of there time to spend with us men. I've appreciated the time and effort that these women take to make me happy and give my the passion and attention that I am missing from personal live. They need to charge enough to cover their expenses and save up for the slow times. Some have families to support or tuition to pay for. They could be saving for retirement as this may be their only source of income. They are taking risk in this business, there are healthy and safety risk. Touring women have much more expenses as demonstrated above. A lot of travelling and business expense. Having a personal and business location. Spending time with a beautiful sexy woman who will provide sexy memories. Priceless :) For everything else there's mastercard.

I always like to stick to my same method of confirming. If booking a day before I ask for confirmation at specific time. Then a voice call after that. Confirmations are ment for both parties, this is the time for either one to say if running on time or a bit late or last min changes to shedual. I always leave enough room to book in another if my date has to cancel. It helps me as well, if my last session ran late. So in other words a confirmation is just that...confirming once and for all that everything is running as planned. Perhaps in the case of taking time off work you might try asking her if she too can confirm before you book time off? That way if something onher end goes wrong you didnt loose valuable time off work. If I am booking a longtime in advanced like a week, i ask them to connect with me 2 days prior then again for a final confirmation hour or so before. This way if I forgot somehow to mark you in my book I can then do so. Confirmations for me are done first txt so that I reconize your number once you do call me and dont hit ignore. I dont answer every phone call that comes in. SP's scheduals can get very confusing and messy. We can go from thinking we have 4 appts then is reduced to 2, then 1 and then back up to 4 again in a matter of minutes. This makes it hard to keep it all straight at times. Usually when I mess up, this is the reason. Sorry this happenes to so many good potential clients, I feel your fustration. If ever knowingly I have done this to anyone, I typically will contact them once I figured out my mistake and aplogise with an incentive to make it better. As a client should when canceling short notice. Simple respect goes a long way. Hope things look up for ya soon! Cheers:)

I am so so so tempted to add this today: For f-ck sake, for once that ladies can have THE job in the world where they will ALWAYS be paid MORE THAN MEN, knowing all the unbalanced/unfair salaries out there between men and women, and a man still wants to complain about it?! Yeah, our price is our price. But if we want to be very practical about it and cut it down to how much it would cost minimally in an hour, why not trying this exercise? I am sure we will go OVER 300$/hour very quickly. Alright, here it goes: - A regular massage by a registered therapist or in a beauty spa by a non registered therapist, nothing else, is between 75 to 125$/hour and more. - The cost of paying personal company for people who need it (for example seniors or disabled people whose family pay for individuals to provide them with company, meaning talking with them only, not offering any care, just checking if they are OK): minimum of 15$/hour in Ontario. - The cost of education that distinguishes a lady (I tend to think that we are not stupid, whether we have diplomas or not. Intelligence and an elegant attitude, as well as having the ability to entertain guests is not related to studies we might have done or not, but if we have, it is another cost that can be considered in trying to "making the price right"). Most of us have degrees or are studying. So the cost of having stimulating conversations with a lady thanks to education (sometimes compared by some gentlemen as talking to a therapist): minimum of 120$/hr - The cost of location: MINIMUM 200$/night. Minimum. If we talk about upscale location, it goes up fast. - The cost of personal care: although we are beautiful, we do not wake up with our hair, make up, nails, skin looking nice and smelling good. We need to take care of that. Hair dresser, nail salon, tanning salon, beauty spa, products, perfume etc... Name it. These services/items are very expensive. Let's say: 200$/month minimum - The cost of clothes and shoes and lingerie, bags (you do not want us to wear plastic bags, don't you?) very expensive. You don't want to see us with the same outfits all the time? No: minimum of 200$/month to renew wardrobe and lingerie. Just one piece of lingerie can cost 200$ ! - The cost of a gym membership (we have to take care of our body!): let's keep it simple, if we go to the YMCA: minimum 55$/month - The cost of special toys, accessories, anything related to play and protection: these stuff are expensive, especially if we specialize the type of games and toys: another 200$ minimum /month (my personal minimum expenses in this category) - Cost of hygiene products at your disposal, laundry to offer you fresh and clean towels, bed sheets, and buy new ones if needed etc...: 80$/month (my personal minimum expenses in this category). - Drinks or appetizers that can be offered by ladies to gentlemen in some meetings: I sometimes offer crackers, cookies, drinks. Let's keep it minimal with non alcoholic drinks: 30$/month (my personal minimum expenses in this category). - The cost of professional photo shoots if a lady does so: the average cost for such a photo shoot session ("package") is 1200$ (I have looked on a few websites, this is the average cost I noticed, it can be more or less, of course) - The cost of advertising: a minimum of 50$/month. It can go over 200$/month and much more depending on when, how, where the lady advertises, and the frequency/numbers of ads purchased. - The cost of travels, to go to you in the same city, or if a lady is touring. Between plane and train tickets, or gas, it can go up very quickly: varies a lot from a lady to another, obviously. From her rent cost if she hosts only, to several thousands of dollars in a month if she travels all the time. - The cost of communication tools and time involved in communication with you (not only "you", of course...): monthly phone package, website, internet etc... Hard to put a price on this as it can vary a lot but, it is more money again. My minimum cost: around 115$/month, not counting the time put into communicating with gentlemen. I must be forgetting some other costs here for sure! Add all these costs, and you will understand that it is not only about getting up in the morning, putting panties on, and posting an ad randomly somewhere and voilà! Nope. It does not work this way. So, yes, how surprising that it takes money to make money! But most most most of all: what is the real cost of one hour spent with someone who will take care of you wonderfully and make you feel special? How much for this? We give the most precious of ourselves at many levels. Breaking it down to money only does not even cover it all! And about expressing an opinion: it is not about the fact that the OP expressed an opinion in the first place. It is about HOW the OP expressed this opinion. Very different! Having a degree in communication, and being proud of it, I believe that it makes a huge difference when considering discussing such matters.

The funny thing I've read on some other forums - "I won't see a lady who charges less then $250-350 per hour, as if she charges less then that she is high volume". So we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. Do you want to go with a McDonald type business plan (sell lots of hamburgers for cheap) or with a Keg type business plan (sell quality meals at a higher price). Really its up to you. Well said Mia. Personally, advertising is much more for me then $50 a month. I pay at least $100 just for backpage, $100 for another forum I'm on, plus some other advertising expenses. Thats without the basic banners you see on the top of page. If you want those here on lyla, these are the prices: PACKAGES Package including - Static banner button (Right side column) - Chat room Banner - Main forum rotating banner Package Prices: - $150.00 for 1 month - $300.00 for 3 months - $850.00 for 12 months *Sponsor a city with any of these packages for a additional 10% off! Now, if you travel, you have to pay the other sites similar prices as well. Yes, I can get away with basic advertising, just put a basic ad on BP, a free ad on lyla - but then again, do I want to be basic? Lingerie - I had to start all over getting new lingerie when I moved here. I had at least $1000 worth left behind. So, each month, I go out and buy some new pieces. I've spent at least $600 so far on my outfits - and that only counts for 1 pair of shoes. If I bought a pair of shoes for each outfit, I'd be well over $1000 just for the 4 outfits I have so far. I don't go cheap on these. For my civilian clothing I go cheap but not for playtime. Accomodation - Fortunately, I am able to rent a shared in call. So, I only have to pay per call. However, the lady I rent from, her rent alone is $1400 a month. That doesn't include hydro. She supplies all the furniture, bedding, towels, soaps etc. The furniture alone is well over $4000 to buy. Yes, I could do my calls at my personal residence, or I could rent a cheap place. However, it's not the same. The place I use is a spacious retreat, a place when I go and it feels like a piece of heaven. I don't have to bring anything but myself and my supplies. The guys love it, and for a lot of them, its nicer then where they live, so they enjoy being in an upscale location they can relax in. Beauty treatment - I'm pretty basic. I've never had a manicure or a pedicure. However, I know a lot of the ladies do this on a regular basis. Hair, nails, waxing, makeup, tanning, tattoos, piercing. These things are all really expensive. Its not like I can go to the salon and get away with a 15 haircut. Hell no. I know barbers are cheaper, and thats what guys go for for themselves, but not this girl. My tip alone is $20 for a good cut and colour and my last cut and colour was $140 plus my tip, so $160. Make up - have you ever priced this stuff? Even going with the bargain brands - you can't get out of the store for less then $100 if you need to replenish your supplies. Most of the ladies go for the quality stuff - there is a difference in quality, so the price is much higher. However, at the end of the day - I have rent to pay, groceries to buy, gas for my car, insurance, maintenance - all of these things are there whether I do a call or not. So, I have to cover those expenses. Fortunately, I get a monthly check that covers most of this (not all, but most), so I entertain gentlemen so I can cover the rest of my expenses, plus have money to live - so I'm not living month to month. I'm pretty frugal, so I don't need to entertain a lot. That is my choice and decision. However, for the women who are actively pursuing this business to pay their student loans, saving for the future, or whatever goal they have, of course they are going to charge what they want. Anyone who criticizes or whines about a ladies rates - especially in a public forum is really showing what his opinion of the lady is worth. Its sad really.

Being in business, the rates of the professionals I hire vary, that's a fact. Lawyers, engineers, etc, their rates vary, and it's up to me to decide which one I want to have, and pay accordingly. Period. I do not want to discuss the rates with the people I decide to hire; if it does not suits me, I use another one. It all depends on the business plan of the individual. At any rate, if their business is satisfying their goal, why not charge the right price. And it's the same for me. Why I would charge less, if the demand for my service is high, and can get more for the effort and service I offer ? Why not? I do not adjust my rates to the budget of those who want to employ me. I may, but it's my call. Offer and demand is, in a way, the rule. Do we discuss the hockey player contracts ? Maybe! But they sign their contract at the highest rate and somebody is ready to pay the price they ask. Why they would lower their demand ? I may dream to meet super stars models, but I can't afford it. But it still in my dreams. I feel lucky that all the ladies here on Lyla are of very high quality, with very high standards, at a price I can afford. Thanks girls.

Vanessa has been advertising on Backpage for at least a year, I believe, but I've never taken an opportunity to meet her. That was mainly due to little being known about her other than one or two comments on the boards (all positive). I decided a few days ago, though, to "take a chance" and I'm very happy I did. That if there is a influx of discussions on BP then there is gentlemen out there that are interested in participating with ladies in your area. One should and would be happy would they not? BP is as others posted used widely by providers that are also on this board. Safety for the gentlemen is just as paramount importance as is it is for ladies, so here is a good place for discussions to ensure there is not bait and switch. When I visited this board once a week or maybe twice, it would be like me asking "why all the fun threads on this board" ....LOL

Having gone through the same experience as the OP a few times over the years, I could sympathise with him for the frustration he had to endure. My worst experience was driving all the way to the hotel and waiting outside (for the hotel room no.) and getting not a beep from her. This experience taught me to have a plan B. By that, it absolutely should not involve double booking a backup lady. It is not fair for the "backup" lady if the first one booked turns out to be successful. Knowing that I may not have the Internet connection while in the car to look for ads, I usually have a couple of phone numbers of ladies who I'd like to see. I know neither of these ladies may be available, but it's better to take a chance than coming home empty handed.

What a shame a thread like this was even posted! Calling women out is not going to do you any good on this site. What you did was not cool at all & You say you have been on here for six years....No offence but you should know the site rules and know that calling out or bashing women on this site is a Huge No No! We are a community on this site. We respect one another & treat one another proper, We do not bash one another. It's just not classy or proper at all. We as SP's Or MA's have every right to set our rates as we please... & most seem to all be around the same ballpark in rates. Of course there will be some who charge a higher rate and that is okay. If you can not afford the rate go else where or save up if you really would like to see the lady. Bashing a lady because she charges what she does is not okay & a straight turn off to be honest.

I don't see why this discussion about rates could be rude and inappropriate. Nobody can be hurt or offended until it is not about some particular person. It is business, money is involved and can be discussed as any other aspect. Regarding the rates, everyone agrees that it is market and really competitive market. And rates are justified by this market - if clients are willing to pay, that rate is right, otherwise it will be changed - not much to discuss here. Yet in contrary to the car sales for example, this business is much more personal. 95% people will agree that Mercedes 500 is better that Toyota Corolla (other 5% just don't know the difference). And we pay not just for mechanical of feature difference but for brand, image, prestige. In escorting, higher rate does not always guaranty better experience - it is very personal, you can "click" or not, be attracted or not. But in general, I expect better service conducting from the provider with higher rate - website, better quality photos, all required information, clear and responsive communication, up-scale location... $300+ provider without a website looks like nonsense to me. PS. It looks like questions like this should be posted from time to time - it leads at least to the active discussion with different opinions. Otherwise, life on Lyla becomes boring :-)

IMHO there are far too many ladies that languidly pose and move around the stage, leaning against the pole (MAYBE doing a spin around it), without following the rhythm of the music. This, however, may be a result of the dearth of stage-tipping these days. Just my thoughts...

Someone is spreading a rumor about Lyla so I am just posting this here to reassure everyone that the rumor is not true. Male members are NOT going to require paid accounts and we have NO INTENTION of every doing that!
