so a couple of years ago a started a thread asking questions about bariatric surgery. My doctor wanted me to lose weight and suggested the surgery, so in the system I want and waited for my operation. in may of this year my turn came and the doctors went forward with the surgery, it consist in cutting out about 75 to 80% of my stomach. this in turns make you less hungry and fill up faster. Everything went off without a hitch, my doc and the hospital staff were great. So five months later I lost nearly 100 lbs and feeling better than ever. I got more energy, my mental health and spirits are way better than before. I'm actually starting to like myself and get out of my shell, cause like my handle stat I was I very shy male. this is by far the best decision I made in my life, for my life, to be able to life longer and healthier. the reason I'm writing this here, is if people are wondering about this operation, they can feel free to ask me questions. when I started this journey, I wasn't sure about the operation an had lots of questions. So if a can help somebody out it would be my pleasure.

The ad campaign may be repetitive, but it is an important message. This is a curable cancer, if detected early. I recently had pain and saw red. Went to emerg because the pain was too much to wait 4 days to see my family doctor. BP and pulse were high, did a CT scan and found a large stone. It was successfully removed and all is good. Just don't put it off. If you see red, see the doc. The only lingering side effect is that I will be out of action for a while :icon_frown:

Feel free to bash Trump, he is most likely everything he is accused of being... But Hillary Clinton is not a role model for any female!!! She has and continues to support her husband, she stands by him and does nothing about his behaviour. Her husband has NO respect for women and she is still with him!!! Forget about the fact the she is a liar, a cheat, a criminal etc...

Once again we are faced with the loss of another lady from this "community"... It is so very sad that 2 children no longer have their mother to care for them. I think it is VERY important for all of us to learn from this. Everyone on this site wants to pretend that the world is a happy place and everyone is here by choice and the ladies all participate because they enjoy it, but that is not reality. Think about who you visit, think about their life and if you are actually contributing to their issues or not. There are a lot of very scared, vulnerable, desperate people here, people who need help but don't get it for whatever reason. I do not know how "Lilly" died or what caused it, but if you did know her like some of you say you did, then you know what life she lived and what struggles she faced. And she is not the only one. Some of the most popular girls here face struggles everyday. A few years ago we lost another very popular girl who had her own battles to fight and unfortunately lost that battle. Like I said, I don't know the cause of Lilly's death, and it is very sad for sure. If she had indeed turned her life around that makes this even more upsetting.

This is the time of year I break out my winter duvet. It is absolutely great! I am very hedonistic - I love good sensations. I love warmth and I love good, clean, cold Canadian air. With this being 2016 and with sixty plus years of experience behind me I really thought that we had progressed, that we had learned, that times have changed. I knew that we were not all the way there, or perhaps even knew that there was a long way yet to go, but never did I think that we have made such little progress. I refer of course to the present debate in the United States over the words and actions of Donald Trump as related to women. The fact that a man can brag about his past history of sexually assaulting women, who brags of being a voyeur behind the scenes of his beauty pageants, who verbally degrades women so obviously can be a candidate for the President of the United States blows me away. Totally. That however is not the worst of it. The fact that he still has thousands of people who attend his rallys, has millions that plan to vote for him, and that the majority of his party's political candidates still will support him is beyond scary. Women in the United States should be terrified of the tone that he is setting and of the message that he is very directly giving to boys and men. What he has said is not simple locker room talk or boys will be boys stuff. These were not just words but rather were descriptions of actions and to this point he has been correct in saying that, "If you are a star then you can do anything." Is it however just in the United States that this is dangerous? Canada has a pretty powerful neighbor just to the south and its actions and its beliefs influence us in this country, like it or not. As a man even from a foreign country to the United States I am embarrassed and angry about his words, his actions, and his normalizing of behavior that promotes violence against women. I am not like that and in my heart I don't believe that the majority of men are like that. The other question that arises, as this has in fact has brought the most blow back on Mr. Trump, is why did it take so long? Comments that are blatantly racist concerning blacks, Latinos and Islam, his comments about the disabled, his comments inviting foreign governments to hack his opponents, his willingness to jail a political opponent all received a general pass. That is for a different thread. Right now it is about women and our respect for them and this is personal to me. Apparently there are many who still in 2016 do not have that respect. Sad. I wish I had a vote in the U.S. If anyone did not hear the speech today from Michelle Obama on this topic, it was probably the best speech that I have ever heard.

I had the pleasure to spend some time with the lovely Jezebel Valentine this afternoon, and what a great time I had. Trump hates practically 90% of the population, when you add up all the groups he preaches hate and violence against- people of colour, LGBT people, women, victims of sexual abuse, undocumented immigrants, refugees, disabled people. It's terrifying to me that he's made it this far into the race, that someone who not only advocates for violence against others but has personally committed it can be considered of presidential quality. I hope we never have to face anyone like him in Canada.
