I agree with Sophia and Raven... the tone of the board has changed dramatically in the past few years. Back when I joined in 2008, I could look forward to a steady influx of captivating, well read, intelligent ladies. Further, the discourse between the ladies and gents made for interesting discussions, with the diverse range of topics and opinions discussed here. It was always a step above the other boards, and Cerb/Lyla exuded class. Now, however it seems that some ladies prefer to advertise on places like "BP" exclusively, and are unwilling to become a part of a community such as ours. I feel it's a give and take - that said, choosing to simply monetize a service takes away from the spirit of what makes places such as Lyla so special. Moreover, discussion in some forums has been reduced to "Have you seen so and so from BP?" ad infinitum, ad nauseum. I for one do not see why these ladies may be discussed, as they are generally not part of Lyla, nor do they wish to be, as another poster pointed out. I prefer not to delve into what I refer to as the wild west, as BP and other spots are a free for all, imho. I prefer to stick to the tried tested and true, which is why I am proud to be a member here.

This is mostly due to the laws changing in Canada so dramatically. Our company is and was not willing to go against the law. We would win a court battle as we all know it's unconstitutional what they are doing but it would cost so much to fight it the risk outweighs the reward. The site is not a money maker (it could be ... but we never perused it financially) so unlike bigdog, now mag and others who have fought the law but had large money backing them we do not have that luxury so drastic changes had to be made to conform to the current laws. It's unfortunate but it's a fact of life. Terb/merb/etc... they moved the servers to another country and hid everything in a way that it can not trace back to anyone running it in Canada. Thats a huge risk for them too if they are still in Canada running it (Maybe they moved too?) I don't know personally but we were not willing to move to another country either. No member here is stepping up to run the site against the laws either... (I didn't think anyone would as it's ok if someone else does it but no one ever wants to take the risk personally) The company who has the offer on the site right now is from another country so maybe if the deal finally goes through we will see it back to the way it was. Not sure what tomorrow holds.

This is the only board I participate in because I do like the tone and civility here. I would like that the recommendations remain the same way. I'm not really interested in reading reviews that are negative and most importantly one-sided. Negative reviews that are only from one side help no one. As a client if I ever had an encounter that was not what I was expecting I would not automatically assume it's the escort fault. Chemistry is not always a given. What works for me in an encounter may not work for another client and vice versa. But I also think that a bit of loosening up of some of the rules would also be perfectly alright. I agree with Sophia here in NOT promoting lades that are clearly not a part of this group. If someone wants a recommendation of someone who is strictly on BP and not on Lyla, then it is up to that person to find out for themselves. I, for one, would gladly pay a monthly fee to be part of a group where we can have these open discussions. Why should this site support those that don't want to be a part of this? I've been contacted in the past about other girls having a listing here, and they 'can't be bothered'. But they will pay to have their ads on BP. I have ads on BP and several other sites, but I get more feedback and a better quality of gentlemen from here. There are too many rip-off artists on BP, at least here on Lyla, we are protected from this sort of thing. Things have changed from the threads that I have been reading from before I joined this. It seems that the governments 'wandering eye' has taken a lot of people out of the game. This is entertainment, and as such we should be free to choose to offer this. I think all businesses suffer from those who don't/can't read past the first paragraph. The call or email asking questions that have answers clearly stated on the site. In your industry, I assume many guys can't read past the photos Not did it's laziness or something else

I've been loving twitter! I use it to share my touring dates, advise people when I update my website and post selfies and pictures I don't upload on my ads or on my website. @veronique_mtl

I could be wrong but I think it may have to do with the upswing in bogus ads or poor sps from ns this year. It may be that I just had bad luck but I no longer will see anyone that I do not know or who has a lot of reviews by names I recognize on here. My worst experience was someone who had lots of info in her ad Sophia but then set on my bed and texted her friends for an hour. Prior to that I always booked an hour but no longer will if I see anyone new. One thing that I know has turned people off is the bogus ads that are asking for 50% email transfer and while a sharp person would notice some of them are in all three NB cities at the same time,the ads are actually in many cities across Canada on the same day. I find it hard to believe that BP is not aware of this and I told a friend she should put in her title no deposit required, if enough did this even new people would realize it is not a normal practice.

I'm sort of curious as to where the line is drawn between MA and SP? Besides the one obvious factor, it seems as though in the last few years those lines have been blurred. Then there are those who try to strike out for more than what was intended and they need to be reminded that it is a massage session they booked for. Lol. there will always be the idiots that actually don't read the ad itself, they just take the number and text/call it. I don't know how many times I've had to say to people that my availability and rates are clearly in my ad, but they want every little piece of information that is on my website in a call or text sent to them! Some guys think with the wrong space lol. I saw your ad, and I think it's as clear as crystal as to what you offer.

As someone who partakes of BDSM encounters, I have a few comments. First, I think there is nothing wrong with having combo options, or being open to different kinds of dates. I agree that it would likely be a good thing. I would suggest that it be clear up front with the client exactly what the expectations are on both sides. For example, if I am looking for a standard, intimate date, but the provider wants to spend the first 20 minutes or so doing a massage, I'd better communicate that I would prefer less massage. As for BDSM activities, I know that personally I prefer to see ladies who are exclusively dommes. My general experience has been that "switches" are not as into the domme side, and when I want to be dominated, I want to be with someone whose focus is that. I don't know if this was helpful at all, but I guess to sum it up, I would say that precision and communication are great ways to solve most issues.

With other boards there is advertising but there the US v.s Them mentality where SPs are to be only seen and not heard. I advertise my escorting services here but do not on BP because of the b.s. I will only advertise massage there since I don't have to deal with people asking for unsafe services and I like doing massage. I have met very nice clients from here for escorting and don't mind paying for advertising as long as there is traffic brought back to the board. The censorship that is in place right now is one of the reasons why a few clients have told me they left. If recommendations weren't censored, the new owners may see an increased amount of membership. There has to be an incentive both both clients and SPs to be here. I like the fact that I don't deal with tire kickers here while on BP you have to weed through calls and texts to find a decent client. I would pay for advertising to not have to deal with things I've had to deal with on BP (Wots, pimps making fake appts etc). However there had to be a reason for men to come to this board. They want specific details when looking at recommendations. I've had many men also tell me they are getting fed up with BP as there are many fake pictures and scams on there with people who aren't established. Notice they always come here to check to see if someone is legit? Without sites like this to double check, a lot of people would be taking risks when visiting new ladies so there is a reason to keep a site like this going. If there is good numbers in membership here, why not charge for advertising? If an SP can get nice clients here instead of dealing with b.s , I'm sure they would consider paying in addition to BP but the men need to be here to make it worthwhile. As someone else mentioned, each site has its own unique brand. Lyla may be known as "the rose colored glasses board" for its positive recommendations only but it also hasn't stopped members of other sites coming here either. Many use both but censorship is a big issue whereas other boards have less rules where censorship is concerned. I don't fully believe that the laws themselves have stopped men from hobbying. The more they have to make decisions on whether or not to see someone is key. This is why many have left.

Mod, I have paid for advertising in the past. I have also offered a potential solution for your troubles with EC -- but, if you continue to charge a certain amount for a site that offers limited return, then I'm sorry, but I won't be paying for advertising. I'm not sure why you are so angry; you asked for opinions, and I gave you mine. Perhaps it was not the opinion you were looking for, but that is honestly how I see the site now. A few years back, I would have happily paid for advertising here. But the truth is that the same client base is not here currently as it was several years ago, and so the return is not the same. Per you, EC is not making money. I suggested that you offer a discount, whether that be on the the monthly cost, or offer a discounted multi-month bundle. If you temporarily lower costs, you will get more advertisers, driving up your monthly revenue. If you have more advertisers, you will see more clients using the site. More clients = more returns for advertisers = advertisers willing to pay the current advertising fees.

Some of the options are all-or-nothing; for example, I don't want a free-for-all with ad titles (a la BP) but I would like to see the rules relaxed a bit.

Add me to the list of folks that believe the rules on this board about being positive and keeping things civilized are what makes it unique. Of course, the new owner can and will do what they like... but they're going to be taking over a board which, as far as I know, is pretty unique in the way it operates. Turning that into yet another trash-all-the-providers board seems to me to be a counter-intuitive thing to do... although it would create a gap in the Canadian market :) Some folks have already said they'd leave if the positivity went away; perhaps they'd be replaced by other people, if those people could be lured away from the boards they currently inhabit... but perhaps not. It's a shame nobody from this community felt able to bid, but... it's a lot of money for an individual. Maybe a consortium could have worked...

I certainly cannot speak for every SP. However for myself I offer a rate for this very thing. My hourly rate is $350, however my rate for a dinner date (4hrs, 2 out 2 in) is $1100. However it TOTALLY depends on the SP, so check with the individual SP :)
