Given that this argument is rooted in ignorance, I'd suggest education is the answer. Unfortunately, this is hard to do. You can't easily force education on someone, and if you've having a debate with someone on this then it's unlikely that they're going to put a lot of time and effort into proving themselves wrong. I'd suggest that the best solution might be to point them to blogs, articles, etc written by SPs who are obviously doing what they want and enjoying themselves while they do. You could also point out that the same argument applies - and probably more so - to other jobs. I can't imagine that working in a call centre (to pick an example at random) is anyone's idea of their ideal job, but there are plenty of people doing it.

There are so much ignorance, so many limiting beliefs and biases floating about society that sex work is an easy target. People making judgements that no one would ever do this willingly or with enjoyment because of the way it's portrayed and the way we have been brought up to view it. There has definitely been a shift to presenting it more openly and honestly as real and legitimate work, chosen by those who do it. As has been mentioned, read some of the sites designed to positively promote sex work, the blogs that speak about it honestly and the ladies who chose to be in it. THOSE are the views that should have the most impact on how the industry should be viewed not those who chose to react from a place of ignorance. If you step back and look at it as work and then step further back and look at work in big picture terms, there are those jobs that people would and wouldn't do. That's the thing about work, if everyone was geared to only do prestigious high paying jobs or only financial or only retail, there would be a whole failure in society. There are jobs for everyone and it takes many different people to make society work effectively. Sex work is included in this. Some people want to do it and some don't. Those who do, should be allowed to just as those who wish to enjoy that, should be permitted to. Just as those who chose to be garbage men or fish cleaners or bankers or lawyers should be free to do that and people free to chose to enjoy what is being offered. If people could simply look at many things with a different perspective and not attached personal "crap" to it, we would all be living in a much better world. I tried to post a thread about Atlanta last night, but it either hasn't been reviewed by admin yet, or they didn't like something I said... I'm not sure that's necessarily the case. I think it really is more a matter of education and exposure. What kind of information do most people have about sex work, after all? TV and news, right? And as Steve points out, it becomes more complex when you acknowledge that there are ladies involved in the sex trade against their will, something we all I'd hope strive to beware of. But again the point is that it's these tragic stories the average person hears about. To go back to the question, I think pointing out the work and blogs of some sex worker advocates could help. If of course as Phaedrus says the person is willing to actually pursue the knowledge.

I know many members here do not use the chat feature. As one of the members who does I have witnessed a few things that IMO shouldn't be happening there and that probably have caused some of the members not using it anymore. If you do not get what you were looking for from the person you are chatting with the ideal would be to have the courtesy to notify the other instead of just closing the window/leaving chat. 4. Guys I know you like to discuss about some of the ladies but what about trying to keep specific details private and perhaps whisper? Keep in mind whisper sometimes fails, I have been a victim of that a couple of times (ok more than that lol) 5. No arguing or trying to put someone in evidence in open chat or getting other users involved in a particular situation. Again, this is not me trying to list rules, just suggestions to keep chat a cool place to get to know other members :-)

At least we both agree it is not good for dancing industry. Yes strip bars dying because day by day they are becoming more and more conservative and costly. First a ban on smoking and then the open Champagne rooms both of above imposed by the City and now the club themselves relaxing the rules on panties and shooting their own businesses. These days with internet and the $20 per 3 to 4 minutes private dance (for which sometimes you have to pay $40 to $60 to see it all) there are much more cost effective alternatives and better options only a phone call away and though myself I am not into masseuses or escorts but many strip bar patrons are or will be. Strip dancing is going on for decades and never heard of sanitary issues (so why same sanitary reason does not apply in the Champagne rooms then as they all take it off there??) and as I mentioned if it was based on a dancers' choice rather than economic reasons I would have for sure respected and supported that.

I know I may get bashed my Club Lovers but the scene is slowly dying out. If you look back at just over the last 20 years, it has been on a decline. It's not awkward. Not every SP has this but if it is a female, like in your case, shouldn't be an issue. When behind closed doors say to them, "My female roommate is here just to let you know." Many SPs work together. Experienced punters are well aware of this. I wouldn't say/mention it before an appt. or even right at the door. However, once behind closed doors is a good time and will not surprise or worry your client the first time he/she hears a noise that isn't made by the two of you. Yes, the Rail and Zanzibar are far more classy. However, I only bother going to Filmores these days.
