I've been to both clubs and they are fine. Brass is obviously newer and more upscale. I have visited the ALO Bliss location and that one is very nice and discreet. I recently went to ALO for the first time(s) to see a MA that had just moved her work place. So in the end it is the provider, Brass/ALO/Vibe/CMJ they are great from my experience.

I had a hard week at work so left work early to Pigale for a fun afternoon and free buffet (I do leave generous tip though). The 4:00 pm traffic from Ottawa to Pigale did not help to relax me either so I recommend that if you live in Ottawa then leave earlier for Pigale as I was on the road of less than 5 miles for 45 minutes. But I was hopeful to see my favorites Eva or Jamie or better both to relax me with their usual Pigale style very exotic dance on the Champagne room. Arrived at 4:15. It was dead and a few topless dancers on stage until 5.00 didn't help either. Left the stage to a table nearby and that was when dancers started coming one after another asking to go downstairs. Unfortunately I didn't find any one attractive or nearly as attractive or friendly or down to earth as ladies at Barbarellas or Barefax but rather business oriented though the fear of being stuck in another traffic jam going back kept me staying for hours at Pigale. Neither Eva or Jamie were there. The only attractive ones were 2-3 dancers definitely new to Pigale and likely out of town and very likely new to strip dancing who took a strip bar as a dance bar where some men beg for dance. Walking along the path between DJ booth and the bar at the other end at least 20 times with their nose up and looking straight not talking to anyone. I saw the most attractive one a skinny short haired blonde likely 18 years old all dressed up at 8.00. She didn't make a dime in all 4 hours I was there. It was good (not great) between 5:30 to 7:00 when they had shorter breaks and more stage dancing when buffet was open but it was back to dead zone again at 800 pm. The buffet brought in about 3 dozen or so more people at 6:30. I also saw a few other regulars from Barefax. About half of dancers performed topless stage dancing all three songs. To be honest I wished I had gone to Barefax instead as strip bars are for watching nude dancers and have fun private dancing with exotic dancers.

If what she charges her clients bothers you that much- then yes, walk away. No one needs someone messaging them because they have issues with how someone else does business, just move along. Also, as sad as it is, some guys lie all the time, about everything. Some want to seem more special, some want others to feel less special, and some think it'll get back at the girl if they send waves of clients she doesn't want by claiming they got a special rate. Well I know it's a broken record thing to say but those clubs wouldn't be under so much threat of closing if songs were $10 again. Given that there are ongoing sweeps and stings in many Canadian cities, non-enforcement is not a reality. This includes recent stings in Winnipeg airport hotels and body rub parlour raids in Toronto. While indoor workers may not be a law enforcement priority, it's naive to think that law enforcement is taking a harm reduction or hands off approach to indoor sex work. That's inaccurate. Most of these groups are members of the Canadian Alliance for Sex Work Law Reform which is working for broad decriminalization, and work with a diversity of sex workers, which may include but are not limited to street-based workers. And while you may see street-based sex work as a public nuisance and significantly different from indoor sex work, the sex workers' rights movement does not. Zones of tolerance and other legislation that pushes sex workers into areas that are more dangerous to work (such as industrial areas), or where they are removed from where the clients are will always fail. These types of laws continue to criminalize sex workers and to my knowledge are never created in consultation with the sex workers who will be impacted by them. Street-based sex work cannot be excluded from the discourse or movement for sex workers rights. All sex work occurs on a continuum, and if we want to make things better for sex workers and their clients, we need solutions that do so for all sex workers and their clients. Addressing legal barriers to working indoors will help address the "nuisance" of street-based work. Beyond that, a more holistic push to address the social factors that drive people to "survival" work will have further positive impact on street-based sex work - so addressing poverty, an insufficient social safety net, housing insecurity, lack of affordable education, economic factors that push people to leave their home communities for bigger cities where they lack a support system, employment discrimination against trans people, etc. Clients don't have to support the organizations and work that already exists, but it would be prudent to do so. Sex workers have been organizing for decades, and have created a vibrant and robust global movement. I have yet to see any meaningful movement toward clients organizing for decriminalization. While you may view the work of sex workers rights organizations to be a failure, there have been many successes in an uphill battle against stigma and moralizing. If clients don't want to support sex worker orgs, how are they going to show up and advocate for decriminalization? How will they participate in applying the public pressure that definitely is necessary to create change?
