Just writing to thank Alison and to say something that many of you already know -- Alison is a true classy professional. She went through some trouble to arrange her schedule to meet with me in the first place, and then to my chagrin I developed a phone problem while near her location and was unable to reach her to get the suite number. A few hours later my phone suddenly fixed itself and I received a long string of texts from her that were very polite, very helpful and very very patient. She clearly was receiving my texts and yet I wasn't receiving her replies -- it must have been seriously frustrating for her but she handled herself with the utmost in class, never once losing that sparkly warm friendly demeanor that attracted me to her in the first place. Sometimes we (or at least I) forget how much effort these wonderful ladies (MAs and SPs) go through in order to make us feel good about ourselves. The BBQ event on Friday was a mixed bag. There were a lot of beautiful women on over lunch. Probably 20+ for the showcase. Not every table was filled, but it was pretty close. The waitrons were working hard to keep the table orders filled. If you're one of the MANY guys who came in for one beer and loaded up on the burgers, hot dogs, fries and onion rings, watched the girls for 20 minutes and then left ... well, I'm pretty sure my tone conveys my feelings for you. Most of the spenders stuck to their regulars and a lot of the contractors were not happy. They all talk to me, and I got an ear full. I was barely downstairs long enough to have 2 drinks and a few short talks because I wanted them to get back on the floor without wasting too much time. I spent way too much and still had to leave earlier than I wanted to because of a delivery at home. I can only do so much. Still, I did feel appreciated, as I do every time I drop in. A pity more patrons didn't show up with the right attitude.

If the materials aren't on sale, I wait until they are. Everything I own has been purchased used, found secondhand or reclaimed from life's discard pile. Quality is a must and retail is out of my league so I find the fabulous at prices that fit my budget. The truth is I love of finding something that has been deemed "unusable" and restore it back to it's former glory and fits my needs perfectly. It keeps it out of the landfills, seriously limits my contribution to the rabid consumerism of todays society and challenges my creativity. Anything and everything product wise. If it's a service I will get numerous quotes and do my research as to which one meets my standards and needs. Paying more for better quality in this case is worth it. But name brand v's generic I will always buy the cheaper version.

I remember when I started becoming a hobbiest I was extremely nervous. Then Ms Manda came to town and I noticed she has a Meet and Greet option. Best thing I could ever done. It was truly great. Though I haven't been able to meet with her since. I travel too much for work and keep missing her when she is here. Anyways the point I'm getting at is, I highly recommend asking your SP for a meet and greet first then making another appointment to see them later in during her visit or her next visit. I wish more SP's would do that.

LOL awesome names for dogs! Too cute. What kind of dogs are they? I'm a dog fan.. cats not so much.. But maybe it's because I'm super allergic to cats. I love golden retrievers and cavalier king charles spaniel. Dog lover forever! Eventually when I'm not touring as much and I move out of this apartment, I'd love to get a dog! I just don't feel its fair getting a dog now and leaving him at home with different dog sitters while I'm out touring.. Plus no backyard for him/her which is also unfair! Soon enough :D

Cats don't have owners, they have staff. This is so true! I've grown up with 3 dogs in my life but also grew up on a big property with a lot of cats from litters. They all have their own little personality and they're sooo smart! I have a cat who lives with my ex because he is an outdoor cat but he is smart as a whip. I also taught him to give a paw for a treat just like a dog does. He is feisty but cuddly and while he is a largely built cat, he is still able to run and climb trees. He is so cute! Because he is a tabby cat, I once dressed him up for halloween as Puss n' Boots. He had the cape, the hat and the little booties on. I was keeping him inside on display until I opened the door for some kids wanting candy and as I turned by back for a quick moment, he flew out of the house in that costume. Since he is an outdoor cat, he did not come home until the next morning and when he showed up, the cape was mangled around his neck, a boot was missing and the hat was gone. lol.. I can only imagine someone driving down the street and seeing an orange cat leap into action with a cape on. LMAO!

I wish I could but Mr. Vacuum cleaner makes too loud a noise. Even their natural curiosity isn't enough to overcome the instinct to run and hide from such a loud evil robot machine who's exact purpose is unknown. I think their very sensitive hearing plays a major role. They can hear the lid of a can of cat food being removed from several miles away (or at least from the opposite end of the house, 3 stories away) :) So I have a soft hair brush and they love that treatment.

Team cats! My kitty mauls me at the door. Is super chatty and affectionate- sometimes too affectionate. I like how I can leave for work and school and never have to worry about my furniture or shoes being destroyed, or a mess to clean up. Kitty puuurs are the most soothing thing ever. Mmmmm.
