A couple of things on this stuff. In general, pointing people to external sites is frowned upon, but right now I think it's reasonable to make an exception. BP being shut down is a seriously big deal for people whose livelihoods rely on it. If we want to be any sort of community at all, we probably ought to give a shit about the sex workers who are wondering how the hell they're going to pay the rent at the end of this month now that they can't advertize, and help out as we can. On what's allowed here and what isn't: this subject has come up many times over the years, but I'm afraid I'm too lazy to dig out the old threads right now. The consensus has always been that we're happy here to avoid the negativity and nastiness that goes with allowing people to say when they've had a bad experience; it often turns out that clients who had a bad experience did so because they were assholes, and sorting out the bad client from the bad provider rapidly becomes tiresome. There are other boards that exist for people who want that, and to be honest I don't see what we'd gain by turning this board into a clone of those. The general quietness here had a lot to do with C36; we lost a lot of regular posters around that time and many more are still around but mostly don't post any more. There isn't much we can do about that; people will come back eventually. What will really bring people back is interesting and worthwhile threads and conversations about things that inspire people to join in. On getting banned: I think most of us have managed to mess up and break the rules at some point (my record isn't clean either :) ). From what I've managed to work out, what gets people banned is persistent rule-breaking and refusing to heed the warnings from Mod, not the occasional step over the line.

I find it stunning that anyone would take an article whose sources are anti prostitution proponents seriously. That's the faulty thinking that keeps sex work criminalized. I also don't think that 17 cases out of the millions of ads posted warrants this indictment. Does the elimination of the advertising platform help trafficking victims in any way? Is it going to be easier for LE to identify, locate and extract nonconsensual teens and adults? No, they are going to be pushed further underground and become harder to reach, all the while forcing consensual workers into more dangerous life situations. They were playing by the grey, tenuous rules but their willingness to defy unjust legislation was their downfall. If you don't want to support a site that has trafficking on it then stop advertising. I've know providers on Lyla that were pimped, there isn't a facet of the industry that it isn't present. What is erroneous tho are the details of what constitutes trafficking and pimping. This isn't about trafficking, this is about right wing censorship of sexuality online. In times coming, you will see more sights go down like Grindr, Tinder and Seeking Arrangements. This is simply the thin edge of the wedge. What they don't emphasize is that almost all of these "trafficked" minors are runaways from abusive home environments. Where is the onus for not protecting them before they end up on the streets? Where is the help for once they are on the streets? There is none. So instead of dealing with the real issues at hand from the beginning, legislation simply goes after the new sensationalizing headlines. This is a far more complex problem than "these guys were bad guys" whitewashing, anti sex worker groups would like the public to believe. Please understand that legalization is a disaster. It criminalizes the industry but leaves small loopholes for big business to buy licensing then controlling the industry. We need decriminalization which means the local business laws applies to sex work as it does to other businesses. It's important that we understand the difference even if it seems to be nit picking. Hi again everyone your probably getting tired of seeing my name everywhere lol. I think the whole "But what do I say?" thing is a significant reason people don't post recommendations. On posting too much: as long as you leave out personal details that might compromise someone's privacy and stay away from the blow-by-blow descriptions of what you did, I think it's hard to post too much. I've read some *very* long recommendations that were nevertheless very good. The other thing to avoid is posting too much about the same person, because that makes people think you're a shill. I suspect a more common problem is people feeling they have nothing worth adding, especially to an existing thread for a well-established provider. I think that's definitely not the case. Even if you just add a very short post to say, "Saw X, had a great time", that lets the rest of us know that she's worth seeing - and really, it's all we *need* to know if you don't feel like sharing any more.

If you are not in a position to move financially,maybe you could share a space with another SP and pay half the rent or by the appointment? I have done that in the past when I did not wish to use my own home and it worked out well. Before that I also used to use hotels on specific days when I would host incalls and precooked but nowadays it would be a better option to find an SP to share with or pay by each appt. I personally would like to see lyla remain and grow as Canada's site. Lyla is uniquely designed to weed out the untrustworthy and potentiality illegal providers. I have been going to EB/TO for a very long time, and in all that time I have only been room-checked once. It was actually Cal (the owner) who room checked me, and he apologized to me later.
