Was contacted yesterday night by two providers who I'd exchanged messages in the past with but never actually met. After exchanging a few messages I learned both were trying to find clients since backpage is gone. They must be providers who work mainly weekends, I directed them both to leolist. One was quite grateful to know where to post ads now. It shows that it's going to take time for providers and clients to make the transition. I encourage everyone to spread the word. I have no stake in Leolist, but must say in the long run it looks to me like it'll be better than backpage for Canada at least. Verified providers, better search tools, the little map of what areas the providers will work in.

I've noticed an increase in the number of new inquiries from guys who I've declined in the past. They forget they've inquired before and I've declined them. One begged me to see him. I felt then we weren't compatible and my instincts told me to again decline him. He went ballistic so my gut was correct. Another was someone who accused me of being a cop because of my screening. All I asked was for his number first, then I would give him mine. Said he's wanted to see me for years then looses it because "no one around here does it this way". Told him I've been doing it this way for years with no complaints. So I suspect he's tried to book me previously and has been declined. I stopped advertising my phone number for a number of reasons, and find this works for me and legit guys have no issues. So, the tire kickers, address collectors and time wasters are still out there trying their game. I think they think because it's a different site we are now green again. So complain away guys, it confirms my suspicion of you when you do.

I absolutely love LeoList! It's super user friendly from a provider's perspective, and it's free to advertise (the add-ons are really well priced too!). It has a lovely layout and is visually appealing to me as well. Much better than Backpage was, that's for sure. I hope it becomes just as popular as Backpage, in Canada anyway!

Just a little warning to all the guys out there. Yesterday morning I was browsing a page to see who I would meet for a visit. I came across an add with pics and a video that showed a poor man standing naked and a video of him fleeing the hotel . Turns out two ladies took naked pics of this guy and then chased him out of the room video taping him and yelling racist slurs. This is my biggest fear as I am sure your as well. I'm sure there is more to the story than meets the eye. Just be cautious when meeting a new lady who is visiting your town. If you don't do your research or feel 100% safe then don't book. We all want to play discreetly. None of us want our face or other parts out there on the internet for families to see. Just a warning that there are two ladies who feel they can video tape people and put it out on BP for everyone to see.

In light of new laws being passed in the US concerning this industry and the seizure of Backpage, would a board such as ours be at risk as well? E.g.(We're under the .com domain, and the site does feature advertising...)

Are there others here who seem to be having an issue with a bunch of enquires who suddenly think we somehow have changed our screening methods, services, rates? I am being flooded with all kinds of odd situations. Its been crazy! Could it actually be a case of a whole bunch of peoplel who never ever booked a massage or a date? I cant see how that would be... I argue this portion found in the link above: "Taking down Backpage and obtaining a criminal conviction for the company and its CEO represents a significant victory in the fight against human trafficking in Texas and around the world," Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton ® said in a statement. I fail to see this as a victory. Similar to how laws only pushed the industry underground, making it more dangerous for both sides of the industry, so to does the removal of Backpage. Canadian LE have long been saying that Backpage made it simpler to keep tabs on the industry, ie human trafficking and those underage. IMO, the removal of Backpage will only drive said issues more underground, making it more difficult to keep taps on. Besides the issues we had with Backpage, this is the true loss of Backpage being removed. A few days ago there was a press conference at the White House of lady who was once trafficked thanking the US Government for removing Backpage. Indeed, her story is sad. IMO, what I find more sad is trafficking now being driven further underground and how worse it will become for those who will be trafficked in the future, underage or not. Only decriminalizing the industry will lessen human trafficking and those underage.

There are several different sites that already been listed under various backpage postings. I had opportunity to talk with a Ottawa Provider this past weekend about this very subject. She was a little upset about losing her Ads on backpage and had already prepaid earlier Friday Morning for the rest of April. She is now being very proactive about her email address and website. She was on Gmail for emails and has already switch to a non US based email provider. She also said She is a little worried about her website as it is also US based so it to might be shutdown as well. So what can we as Clients do to help out the Providers we are seeing or would like to see in the future. First thing us Clients can do is to note their contact information on sites based out of the United States as it might be shutdown in the future. Also note that your Provider will most likely be changing their email addresses to a non US provider for emails in order to be proactive. They are making these changes to ensure we can contact them in the future. They will be also changing website providers and websites shortly to ensure they will have website you can use to find them. All of these changes require a lot of work and are time consuming for the Providers. Canadian Clients should be patient over the next weeks and months as these changes are being made by the Providers. The most important thing us Clients can do is make use of this Canadian based Website. This site has postings and recommendations of Providers across Canada and you will not better Providers anywhere. So please make use of all the benefits here when you are looking for a Provider and book time with one of the Lyla.com Providers. The last thing we talked about this weekend was that even though She has been a Provider here for over a year with numerous postings and recommendations. No, I am saying without any USA info the site is not breaking any laws in the USA so the CIA/FBI/ETC will not be interested in this website at all. The CANADIAN law enforcement if they have any issue with it could ASK the USA to step in and shut it down but can you really see that happening? I cant .... especially since our rules clearly state here that we do not allow anyone to advertise sexual services and as long as we remove any offending ads or illegal discussions as they are flagged no one should have any issue with it. We take a proactive measure to ensure (1) no one underage sneaks on the site, our members are really good with us and letting us know if they suspect anything like that going on and (2) we do not allow unreputable agencies (like most of the asian B&S ones) to advertise here. We have an area for the ladies to help PROTECT them so this site does a lot of good for the industry as well and I am sure they know that if it was lost it would not stop anyone from working in the business it would just push them to other websites or possibly the streets and the smart canadian law enforcement knows this very well. If we had ads for US ladies or info for the US market then the US would take notice. I did bring your info to the attention of the current site owners and they are already working on alternative domain names so they are fully aware of the potential hijack possibilities with the .com and other domain names.

I personally would like to see lyla remain and grow as Canada's site. Lyla is uniquely designed to weed out the untrustworthy and potentiality illegal providers. As for the point KarmaKiss mentioned that some providers have been banned, well this is true and valid. And for these women and men, they will be in a situation of loosing the safety of community. Without being able to have ANY avenue to advertise safely.....well they may find themselves " walking the avenue" (pardon my dry humor) and for that reason, we need alternate sites as back ups.
