I plan to add a FAQ area on Lyla for posting etiquette and I wanted to ask our seasoned members if they have anything to add before I post it. Posting etiquette (Some for clients, some for providers, some for both) 1 ) Do not discuss providers' rates (unless you are the provider or agency doing the posting) 2 ) Do not comment on a service providers rates being too expensive or cheap! 3 ) Do not discuss street walkers 4 ) Please use discretion! Do not discuss drug use, illegal activities, violent acts and anything that would bring unwanted attention to someone, some business or our community here on Lyla. If you are aware of a illegal activity taking place you should contact the police (not post it here) as posting it here brings unwanted attention to Lyla! 5 ) Do not fight or flame anyone (this includes flaming the lurkers or low post count guys and includes fighting with each other in the PM system) 6 ) Do not spread rumors! 7 ) If you have a problem with another member bring it to the attention of the mod and DO NOT post about it in public. 8 ) Do not post a provider's personal info such as addresses or share this info in a PM unless you are the provider. You risk her safety if you do this! 9 ) Do not ask for prices of providers from other members (you should ask them directly) 10 ) Before you post a recommendation for a provider you should ask her for permission and you should ask her for permission to put one of her photos on the recommendation as well. 11 ) Do not post ads to sell products on the site (free ads are for sex workers, massage spas, etc... not toys, web design, etc...) If you wish to promote a different product or service PM the mod first as we may have banners available. 12 ) Do not post links to porn sites 13 ) Do not use the site to complain about a service provider or post negative reviews! 14 ) Keep the site positive and fun! When I lived in Kingston I tended to avoid SPs while they hosted right down town. I always found parking was very difficult and I was more apt to bump into friends and acquaintances, who can be nosy about why I am entering a hotel at 1030 on a Friday night lol The Ambassador is a good choice from a client standpoint IMHO as its big, has man entrances, parking is plentiful inconspicuous. Rooms are nice, it used to be the best hotel in town when I grew up there. For an SP, I think, if you want to get out a bit and enjoy the city it will cost you some cab or public transit fare, unless you bring your own car. I also avoided the hotels at the 401 and Division, most of the time, as they are very public and often had road crews in them that would sit outside drinking. I always felt uncomfortable visiting a lady with that going on. I would avoid the hotels around Princess and Sir John A. They are shady places. I have visited Motel 6, its nice. Not really much to say, its a spot to stay for a night to get off the 401. Kingston is an awesome city! I hope you enjoy it too its fullest!

And....I got the job yay!

Gwen is someone who I've been wanting to see for what seems like a very long time. Unfortunately she mostly works during the day, when it's tough for me to escape from the office, so I've never managed to make it happen. However, last month I noticed she was available into the early evening at Brass, and I could escape from work at a reasonable time, so... finally! Holy heck. My ad title always contains my availability and the first sentence of my ad contains the donations. So...a 3 to 6 page website means what exactly? Why should i waste my time creating something that is not even taken seriously?

I think we should boycott this. First, if it's a .ca domain, it's owned by a Canadian citizen who is simply trying to capitalize on the Backpage online traffic. Backpage, while excellent at SEO was a predatory pricing ad platform that continually raised rates simply because they could. It gutted our quality Canadian ad platforms and we as an industry need to recognize our power to influence the sites that consistently give support to the industry. I also think that as an industry, we need to self regulate platforms that develop when it comes to pricing. Any site that charges unreasonable rate increases that are not cost driven need to be boycotted. $300/month for an ad on a single site is ridiculous and I know providers that were spending over $1000 a month on backpage in Ottawa which is one of the lower costing cities in NA. I would appreciate a site that had some transparency concerning costs/profit ratio. When I stopped paying for advertising consistently in 2011, my gross income dropped insignificantly but I carved almost $2500 off my monthly overhead creating a significantly higher net profit at years end. This needs to apply to review board advertising as well. Any site that promotes detailed reviews that can negatively target providers should be avoided. It's simply putting money in the pockets of those that support bullies and predators. Stick with platforms in Canada that have a track record and help build traffic to those sites. Clients went to backpage because providers advertised there. If we carefully choose where to leave our advertising dollars, we effectively control pricing. Let's do something worthy with the demise of the Backpage empire and keep our Canadian sites at the top of the SEO. smiles, cat

A couple of things on this stuff. In general, pointing people to external sites is frowned upon, but right now I think it's reasonable to make an exception. BP being shut down is a seriously big deal for people whose livelihoods rely on it. If we want to be any sort of community at all, we probably ought to give a shit about the sex workers who are wondering how the hell they're going to pay the rent at the end of this month now that they can't advertize, and help out as we can. On what's allowed here and what isn't: this subject has come up many times over the years, but I'm afraid I'm too lazy to dig out the old threads right now. The consensus has always been that we're happy here to avoid the negativity and nastiness that goes with allowing people to say when they've had a bad experience; it often turns out that clients who had a bad experience did so because they were assholes, and sorting out the bad client from the bad provider rapidly becomes tiresome. There are other boards that exist for people who want that, and to be honest I don't see what we'd gain by turning this board into a clone of those. The general quietness here had a lot to do with C36; we lost a lot of regular posters around that time and many more are still around but mostly don't post any more. There isn't much we can do about that; people will come back eventually. What will really bring people back is interesting and worthwhile threads and conversations about things that inspire people to join in. On getting banned: I think most of us have managed to mess up and break the rules at some point (my record isn't clean either :) ). From what I've managed to work out, what gets people banned is persistent rule-breaking and refusing to heed the warnings from Mod, not the occasional step over the line.

I don't really follow your statements. Sophia made no mention of 'censorship' per se.... There is nothing currently preventing anyone from becoming a member of lyla (aside from previous serious infractions x3). Being a contributing member and remaining a member is virtually entirely dictated by our own posts, statements and on-line actions. The distinction between 'harsh', 'classless', 'the not so good' and 'the ugly' is a quagmire that this free site likely can't effectively moderate. There are other sites like terb, merb, ter etc. if you need to make a 'well informed decision'. I'm not a member on those boards but I seriously doubt they would assist any decision of mine. I'm not prepared to wade through a mile of shit to admire a rose. Any censorship we need to worry about is coming from the good ol' US of A.

Went to the 2nd day of the Grand opening of the Brass Club. Saw that Gwen was on the schedule today at noon. So I decided to book her.
