Today marks my 10th anniversary as a member of Cerb/Lyla, although I've been involved with the adult entertainment industry closer to twenty years... where does the time go? I came across Cerb by happenstance, having been a member of another board for a number of years previously.It was quite a serendipitous find, to say the least, as it has enriched my life in a plethora of ways. Reflecting back, I have a treasure trove of incredible experiences, fond memories and several tall tales that will be forever etched in my memory. In practically two decades, I can count the negative experiences on one hand, yet the positives have been eye opening, and have helped me grow as a person. Further, in all that time, I've only told two people about my, shall we say... extracurricular activities?? lol,,, I was met by a combination of bemusement and curiosity, which lead me feel as though I were a member of a secret club or society, one in which in order to fully understand, you have to actually experience it for yourself...Now, in light of this momentous occasion, I thought I'd regale you all with a little bedtime story... Once upon a time, back in the days of "the blue pages" and Star Blvd (there's a blast from the past for you!) I began my first foray into the world of paid companionship. This was back before photos on websites were the norm, which left a lot to the imagination! While perusing several sites, I became enamored with one whose descriptions were so elegant and tasteful that I had to find out more... so, I took the plunge and called. I spoke to Greg at Select, who at that time was a driver who would eventually become a co-owner after Troy and Lisa left. He spent twenty minutes with me, answering questions, fielding comments etc.. I was so impressed with his professionalism that the rest is history! The one thing that has always stuck with me throughout all of this is the old adage of not judging a book by its cover. In general, I feel that society is quick to condemn anything that they have no knowledge of, that which evokes sentiments of fear and inadequacy and so forth. As such, whatever it is will be portrayed in the worst possible light.... the dark alleyways, shady characters etc. when in fact the opposite has been shown to be true. In reality, this industry, in my opinion is one of the most decent and honest I have ever come across, made up of caring and compassionate individuals just like you and me. 99.9% of people I have met through this hobby have a had a positive impact on my life, with some even going above and beyond. There was the lady who insisted on taking me out for lunch on her time, and she paid!.... another lady who ended up staying an additional three hours on her own time because she wanted to (I truly was not expecting that!) and an agency owner who had just taken over and heard about my bad experience with the previous management. Although it was no fault of his own, he insisted on sending over a lady at no charge to make it up to me....these are just a few examples which showcase the kind of people this industry is comprised of, and one which i am proud to be a part of!

Congrats on finding Cerb/Lyla 10 years ago and sticking around for that long. In October it will be my 10th. year anniversary as well and I don't regret it at all either. I have met some of the nicest lady on this site and like you drlove, only a very few disappointed me but not to the point of quitting. Great story !

On a positive note, I dropped in at Barbs yesterday afternoon and met Lacey for the first time. She's wonderful to talk to and even better in the CR. Looks like I may have to become more of a regular again!

Thanks to all who have replied. I've decide for the moment to remove them from public view. Until I have the time to write the story and process in a blog posting. It was suggested to me, that many may appreciate the pics more because of the story behind the loss. It can be used an inspirational tool to others and while I come across as a "B" sometimes, I really do have a big heart and would love if my story helped just 1 person meet a goal they have been struggling with. Knowledge is power, power is strength and strength makes you succeed. so here is hoping I can share that knownlesge that will be a key to the success of others. Hey Everyone, If you're looking for an easy way to see a list of Fresh topics/posts - using the "Fluid" View(3 dots with 3 lines beside them) - button located just above the "General Discussions" section. Will now show topics based on Recent activity - not their pinned status - this makes it extremely useful to just hop on to the site and see quickly what was posted last etc. I hope this helps make browsing the site a little more enjoyable. Over the coming week or so I'll be playing around with the layout of the menus etc. trying to find the most optimal way to showcase the information. Nothing I do is guaranteed to be permanent so please feel free to voice your opinions if you dislike something.

I have been using All Activity under Activity to check for new posts. To be honest, I find it a bit too "open" in that you can see exactly who reacts to which post, who follows who etc apart from new posts added. I would have preferred to see only activities on new posts to check for new additions instead of All Activity. Information on who follows who is available when you access the profile pages.

drlove you took the words right out of my mouth. I agree. An immediate apology and insistance of taking some sort of compensation. It can be difficult to respond effectively when things have gone downhill so precipitously. @Greenteal: "He did what most of us would have done." Sadly I don't have the sense that 'most' clients would have done this. Perhaps I'll just foolishly hope that most lyla members would have.....

I agree with GreenTeal, it wasn't about the pictures, that line is as overplayed as "I forgot my wallet in the car" or some kind of horrible accident " I/My mom/sister/brother/dog got into a car accident/ has to go to the hospital I can't make it" It's frustrating I know, that's why anything outside of Ottawa (or more than a 15 min drive) you should secure a deposit. That way should anything occur, your time/gas/ efforts/loss of income and loss other potential income due to reserving time for said appointment are covered... I recently had a thread posted on another board by a once regular guest and someone I had considered a friend saying the same about me, that I misrepresent myself in my pictures. When asked by other members how I specifically didn't look like my pictures, his response was even though I blur my face, my face doesn't look like a certain porn star of a completely different race (nevermind a whole other person) that he imagined my face would look like... ( I know absurd, I honestly can't make this stuff up lol) Because it wasn't about my pics ( if it was he wouldn't have kept on seeing me ) he had a personal issue with me and instead of coming to me as an adult, explaining his grievance and addressing it with me, he decided to attack my business and attempt to punish me by slandering my reputation with false claims that when examined by other members, held no weight...only then he finally admitted his personal issue with me . It's not about the pictures and really it's not about you.. it's more personal i.e. their issue, and in this business people will come up with all kinds of reasons and excuses instead of just being genuine and admitting their hang-ups, it's easier to project and place the blame on you. Don't take it personal, because it's not! Just let your pictures and your reputation speak for themselves, the good guys get it and the ones who don't? *Shrugs* Not your circus and not your monkeys 😉 Keep smiling beautiful !
