If you could go back in time and tell your 19 year old self something, what would it be? Is there something that you did or did not do that would impact your life today? So if only you could tell your younger self anything what would it be? Myself I would said to stay in school a little longer and learn more about accounting. I consider myself a smart person but I'm not worth much in accounting and wish I would have learned more about it. When, where, how to invest and spend my hard earned money.

Personally my opening txts go as follows: Good Morning/Afternoon ______________, how are you ? My name is _______________; and I saw your ad online. I was wondering what more you could tell me ? I find I get good responses from that. Being pleasant and polite will take you far. I cannot stand; and wont reply to responses that just go straight into rates and "menu" or one word replies. If a lady cant engage me through txt there is no way she will be able too in person. Just me and my way of doing business.

I typically politely ask for rates and availability. I usually then try to ask a couple questions about the kind of service I might be looking for. Part of that is to make sure her and I are on same page about service and price, other part is to get a sense of their personality. Are they all business, slow responses, responses that don't answer the question, do they seem fun, flirty, are they going to be rush rush rush, etc. BUT Having seen the texts the providers receive I see a lot of frankly rude or at least crude texts, lots of time wasting conversations, lots of people asking for stuff like bare services or discounts or trades (drugs). I would think if you polite and not wasting their time then they should be more than willing to chat with you. In my experience though, getting slow or no response is very common. Unsure why but I just move on. I am willing to try a couple times to get an answer but after that I don't bother with them anymore. Also once you've started the conversation someone who is always super slow to respond (like consistently many many minutes between responses), I usually move on. Their mind is elsewhere or they've got conversations going with other clients, or whatever but it's enough of a turn-off I move on. I'm meaning once they respond to my text, if I text them back in seconds and then each response from them is 5-10min I assume my business is not a priority for them and move on. On the other hand, anyone who's a quick responder with friendly flirty texts, I'm very likely to book with them and usually tell them how much I appreciate their quick responses. Again, I'm not talking first response, but how fast they respond once a conversation is started.

A red flag for me is when an account is very new with no recommendations or posts besides the one for a new service provider. For example, if an SP has just started posting in the city or is new to the city, and the same day a “new” account here on LYLA posts a recommendation for said SP. I'm curious what the general knowledge is on Herpes/Hsv around here, as I've been with a provider in the past who was unaware of the prevalence of it and the ease of infection, which was quite surprising. There seems to be a lot of stigma surrounding hsv particularly directed at the unlucky individuals that actually show symptoms of genital herpes (sores). People seem to think that as long as they don't show symptoms they are "clean". Some facts: 1) Herpes (type 1) is present in upwards of 80% of the adult population, it's difficult to get a precise number, for the following reason. 2) Many people who carry herpes never have a full blown outbreak, they may occasionally shed the virus/infect others, but they never have typical symptoms such as sores. This is why it's difficult to get an exact number of infected individuals, when so many are asymptomatic carriers. 3) There are 2 types of herpes, hsv 1 and hsv 2. They were once thought to be localized to different parts of the body, with hsv 1 infecting the mouth/face region, and hsv 2 infecting the genitals. We no know the 2 are very similar, and hsv 1 can present on any part of the body with mucous membranes, including the genitals. 4) Condoms are minimally effective. The virus is transferred via skin to skin contact of mucous membranes, not fluids, so condoms only protect what they cover. Hsv can often present in areas that condoms have no effect on, such as inner thighs. So there you have it, odds are you have herpes and don't even know it, even as you pass it on. Hsv 2 is significantly less common, at about 20% of the adult population, but as the 2 are so similar I personally don't think it makes much sense to be alarmed about Hsv 2 while accepting Hsv 1 as minor. I'm sure most of the wonderful providers here already know this information, but I figure it doesn't hurt to put it out there, particularly for new hobbyists.
