As long as people have been filing their taxes appropriately and including SW-related income, it should apply! Some don't, of course, but in my experience the majority of SW who are doing this for more than a little bit of side income are paying their taxes.

...and I predict it'll be getting a lot of attention. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-income-supports-covid19-1.5509247 I'm just wondering what's going to happen when a lot of people start visiting http://www.cerb.ca. Could be... interesting.

I always enjoy seeing the positive in things it helps me get through the days much better and with events happening right now it's tough to see the positive in this except that with everybody in self isolation we will get through this. Something else that is on a positive note, our air and water stream are already getting clearer because of the cutting back in traffic on the roads and rivers. I have seen this on the television and could post a link but with only a small iPad it's a bit complicated to share. Anyway I simply wanted to brighten up everyone's day with a positive note. Do you have a silver lining story to share?

There have been a number of news reports of scammers trying to take advantage of these trying times and I imagine our community is no different. I am suspicious of the many new ads I’m seeing on Leolist. Please, if you’re still hobbying, or even participating by way of video as some of our wonderful service providers have started doing, exercise caution.

No, there's nothing illegal about having sex work be your sole source of income! Feel free to PM me if you'd like the name of the accountant I've worked with. His rates are very reasonable and all was done properly and above-board. I just had to compile totals of my income earned and claimable expenses, and he took care of the rest. There's no reason/need for the CRA to have specific details of your clientele/who paid you for what, so there's no reason to worry about your clients being outed. Just don't give them that info as they don't need it πŸ™‚ Good luck! There are definitely advantages to filing your taxes - proof of income to help you get a mortgage or other loan, peace of mind, etc, etc!

Timetourist, thank you for the good wishes. But, yes, unfortunately it is very serious and while generally I feel physically OK that day side effects of my treatment hit me. Never hit me whenever I see the super hot nurse at the clinic who I am not having sex with, but do hit me at the most inconvenient times later. I do not mind telling details of the conditions but I do not want to seem ego-centric and talk about it if people do not care to read about it. After the above comments by Biker Dude I wanted to add that yes, Francheska is a francophone. She seems to have excellent comprehension of english but has trouble expressing herself at times. But only at times, she can improve but certainly hold a conversation.

Hopefully Canadian sex workers can access this without issue, because it's really in the public's best interest that they have the ability to stay home and not see clients in person if possible!

Yes... could have been a lot more interesting if we hadn't resurrected Lyla when C36 came in! Still, I wonder if anyone in the government checked out cerb.ca to see if they could use it as a redirect to their main website or something. I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall when that happened...

It's not fair to blame the SW choosing to continue in-person bookings in order to keep food in the fridge and a roof over their heads - blame the world we live in where people are still being forced to pay rent while unable to work. Blame the fact that SWs (independent contractors) are not able to access things like EI benefits. Things are even worse in the US, where plenty of providers I follow are genuinely fearful that they will be evicted. None of them want to be taking these risks in the middle of a pandemic. I'm in a privileged position to be able to not see clients for a while. In any case, NZ has gone into lockdown for 4 weeks and I'm staying put at a friend's place, only allowed to leave for groceries and walks around the neighbourhood. How long until Canada does something equally strict? If you're concerned about SW offering bookings, send them some money to help them avoid that choice if you can. While I and many others are moving towards online work, that market is quite saturated. Things aren't as simple as they might seem on the surface.

To be completely honest here no one should be seeing anyone right now, be it SP or hobbyist. Just cause someone has no signs they still may carry the virus with them. To be doing this right now puts you and your loved ones at risk.

I liken her to that bookish girl at university with a rockin' body. Definitely made me feel like I was 20 again...for an hour or so....sigh.

Smalltown Ontario has them...Sobeys has it from 7-8am but no age posted, but Rexall Pharmacy has it 55 and over, from 7-8am. Don't know about No Frills, didn't go there. Most frozen fruit is gone too except frozen mangos and strawberries. I topped up on frozen fruit too. All those cars in town must be outsiders taking that 15-20 minute drive to my rural...well small town LOL. Actually I was the only truck parked on the street (strange) when I went out, and parking lot pretty bare too RG

Got up bright and early today to go out grocery shopping. Got misc. groceries especially the essentials....coffee and beer. And the shelves have been bare of toilet paper the past few times I've been out so today got some TP...now I've got plenty Only part I greet with mixed feelings...senior's hours (when no one else shops) is 7-8am, the one store defines a senior as 55 or older, I'm almost 59, I don't want to be a senior yet LOL I'll still go out 8am or later, 7 is too early RG

As I read through all these comments I only think of one thing. I wish we would all stop criticizing people, whoever we are. Except for a few cases maybe we don't know each other's situation. Some may be more fortunate than others and their lot in life is better. And that's good. But it is not the case for everyone. This is a time when we should be supportive of each other, whether we are clients or SWs. We should keep in mind that a SW puts a lot of her income back into the business in order to promote or present herself in a good way. As clients we all enjoyed the beautiful pictures they gift us with, and the sexy lingerie they adorn themselves in to please us. And there are the ads on various websites. All that before they take home any money. Than they may have rent , mortgage to pay and maybe children to feed. As clients the decision for us is easy, we only have two choices! But for a SW it is not so. I am confident that the ones who choose to work are very serious and have no intention of becoming sick. Stricter screening probably needed as well as sanitation. I choose not to criticize decisions being made by SWs or clients. Nor will I ever become a snitch, fingerpointer or belittle someone. We are all mature people and capable of making good decisions. This is a time more than ever that we should all be supportive. The government does not offer special benefits to SWs as they do other business. I hope everyone will continue to be healthy. Whether you are a SW or a client, stay strong, this too shall pass!!!

Sorry for coming into this so late, but for anyone reading this: if you don't like the idea of donating in advance but are fond of the idea to help out our SPs during this emergency then you might be inclined to opt for online services. While this doesn't offer the same level of intimacy, it does conform to our stringent state of isolation. As a follow up, please do so with verified SPs you trust. The amount of online "scam cam girls" is annoyingly large, so please don't fuel that fire. My recommendation is to contact preferred/verified SPs on Lyla and ask very kindly if they would be interested in offering online service for you. Greenteal, your words of caution regarding ill advised transactions are always appreciated. To everyone else, I endlessly admire your sense of community. Yours truly, TheBestPlayer (Andy)
