4 pointsLol. Those gentleman that DO see any new girl that comes to town, normally gets a 'stamp collector' tag in my books. Not necessarily a bad thing, but there are many different types/styles of "hobbiests.' I love getting to know humans, that's the first thing I normally ask when having a meeting with someone... how they conduct their actions. Some enjoy quick one offs, others want the new girls, some stick to one girl they enjoy and never test the waters again, some require a fetish dispenser, others want something closer to Sugaring. Theres so many different personalities and reasons for seeing providers that one word cant nearly describe everyone.

3 pointsI've heard some pretty bad names... Hobbiest by far is the nicest and most socially accepted. Much better than being called a sex addict or much worse. But, I refer to gentlemen I've met as buddies or clients.

2 pointsInteresting, Castle. I don't think this would change much in the short term, but could be a good tool to change the perception in the long run. I could see TEDtalks like these, but with strippers specifically: https://www.ted.com/talks/miranda_kane_fighting_stigma_with_storytelling_lessons_from_a_former_sex_worker https://www.ted.com/talks/juno_mac_the_laws_that_sex_workers_really_want/discussion https://www.ted.com/talks/nicole_emma_what_a_sex_worker_can_teach_us_about_human_connection I wonder if the U.of O. would be open to a conference about sex work? They already have some very progressive teachers there like Christine Bruckert. I've already heard some sex-positive (and very smart and articulate) strippers tell me "they could write a book about strip clubs". Well a talk might be another way to spread more positivism about those places. (Now waiting for Greenteal to tell me this is a horrible idea, and it's never gonna work, and It's not gonna change anything, and the industry is doomed, and there's nothing we can do, and there's too many obstacles, etc. 😉😋 )

1 pointI actually disagree, because stripper poles have seen the biggest increase of sales in a decade lol. The x pole Canada website has completely sold out and the amazon pole prices have been marked up by at least 50% just in the last week. Many dancers seem to be taking advantage of the sales on heels and dance wear and makeup and hair since that stuff is taxable and using the opportunity to suit up for when the clubs do reopen. If anything there will likely be an influx of new dancers LOL I’ve had many civilian friends start asking about working in clubs now and some have even bought poles already!

1 pointI tend to think of myself as a client. Just like I'm a client of my local garage where I go to get an oil change..... :) I also enjoy developing a 'servcie provider' 'client' relationship so I don't treat it like one of hobbies. And to help convince folks that I only occupy myself with the world's truly great problems, lol, I view the word as 'hobbyist' :) https://sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?101147-quot-Hobbyist-quot-v-quot-Hobbiest-quot My years fo editing leave me cringing over spelling and grammar.... you know, things like pervasive use of the possessive 'your' when what was meant was you're..... it makes reading something smooth and effortless. Singed, a man with many problems lol

1 pointHadn't spending much hobby wise since a fave retired awhile back, been banking it since. In a few weeks may dip a toe in the market. Peace MG

1 pointMade a few donations, but have been saving. Corona put off some house renovations, rather than using credit, think I may pay for them cash when things get back to normal.

1 pointDidn't know whether to put it under Last Thing You Purchased thread or this thread but the last thing I purchased was three weeks of gas in my truck about an hour ago LOL RG

1 pointBeen spending a lot of time (and money) on bbq. Cooking, specifically bbq has been a long standing hobby of mine. Purchased a new pellet smoker last week, have been wanting to try one for ages. Time to see what all the hype is about! Yes I’ll be taking curbside pickup orders 😉

1 pointEnough with the judgments about providers who still choose to work. I’m not working at the moment because I’m in college but I know some who have chosen to still work and I can tell you that there are some guys out there asking for discounts and unsafe services. They even admit that they figure if they’re taking a “risk” they should be able to get a deal. What they don’t realize is that when they ask for unsafe services they are asking the providers to further put themselves at risk of contracting STIs such as antibiotic resistant gonorrhoea. So it’s no picnic dealing with that kind of stress on top of trying to make a living. if you don’t want to hobby during this time, fine but no need to get on your high horse and bash providers. Most don’t qualify for the covid benefit and maybe if the Liberals would keep their word and revisit the current laws and decriminalize sex work, we would have more providers on the grid who could legitimately be entitled to such benefits.

1 pointI personally took 1,000 and gave it too some of my favorite providers. This situation is tough for everyone. Before coming down so harshly on providers remember they still need to make money because a lot of them do not have any other income and are living pay cheque to pay cheque...before bashing some girls for still working how about reaching out and paying in advance for a future session or something? Just my two cents. Ive talked to some of my regulae providers and they told me that they still got to pay their rents.. Are you guys gonna pay for it? Least we can do as a community is help some of our favorite SPs out!!!
