I have never really cared to be called a hobbyist even before I saw that a lot of people look on the term negatively. I will say that the term isn't nearly as bad as trick or john. I just don’t get what the hype about YFL is. Sure they are beautiful and probably very good. Being French myself from Quebec one would think I would jump at this chance. However I have made Nova Scotia my home several years ago and with so many very beautiful and talented local ladies I continue to prefer to support local ladies. Except for a couple failed bookings at first local ladies have been very good to me. I find no faults in the ones I have seen! One thing that also intrigued me is why the clients who visits ladies whom they know may not have perfect knowledge of the English language always seem to remark about it! What do they expect? Is the purpose of their visits to talk?? As much as I respect and admire all ladies I will continue to support our local ones. Let’s face it, if things get tough again, others can vanish but our local one will be here to make the best of it.

I am so sorry that this has happened. It's a very risky business that we're in and am sad that the safe place of parlours have been shut down. I hated having to go independent when many were closed in Vancouver. Best I can do is share preventative advice. I sort of set up a protocol for myself now which I make sure to follow and actually helps with professionalism. When I have a booking I always have timely check-ins with either my driver and if taking a cab with a trusted friend. 1) On arrival - you feel okay about continuing. And transaction is good. I make sure it's within 5 mins from when I step in through the door. 2) Most mportantly I call or text in front of the client and tell them so they are aware I have security in place. It eliminates the majority of any planned craziness. 3) During - I pick a time to send a simple text or call again that I'm okay and whether the session will extend. If security doesn't hear within 3 mins of said time they call me. Sometimes you're in the middle of things, but again the made client is aware of the check in calls, they won't be bothered by your phone ringing. Also it reminds them that you have someone that will f*ck them up if they still want to hurt you. It's creates such a good safety net because our lives and well being are not worth any amount of money. If anyone needs more tips feel free to ask. 💖

I'm very sorry for your friend and hope that somehow, this guy is brought to justice. All other SPs in your area need to be warned about him and I would hope your local police have the sense to not judge your friend and do their damn job. I'm glad your friend has support from you and you continue to support her any way you can. I don't know the answer but hope she recovers okay and gets the help she needs to A) deal with the physical and emotional trauma and B) get justice. Hopefully, we get this idiot behind bars before he does this again or worse, kills someone.

Sadly they as well as highlander are closing their doors and focusing on deacons on elgin. The original protest was originally to start at the embassy (dumb!) and why business started boarding up. It got changed to start on the hill just a few days before. Also car windows get smashed out of vehicles in that lit up car park, or area for musical equipment so any owner in that area who boarded up was smart! As a client, I don't mind that if I'm informed. I met a lady once who did this and told me that she had security nearby and would be checking in twice during our hour. I had no issue with it. If she was spending more time on her phone setting up other bookings or just chit chatting, then I would not be happy. But security and being transparent about that is a good thing in my books.

Trust me, I'm interested! 😄 But YFL does not require my photo ID to book an appointment. Nothing against your protocol; it's your choice and you have a right to screen clients as you wish, but it's a little too much for me.

There's a lot of this going around lately. You pretty much have to be able to see in the room and make sure no one else is in there before you even enter or exchange anything. Doesn't help if they try to open the door to someone else while you're in there though. It's almost making me think that taking a weapon for myself is needed...but then there's so many "what if" scenarios that come after, and most of them are not good at all.

I would just ad that a quick reverse image search can help immensely in avoiding some pitfalls, A lot of the scammers steal pictures from other ladies ads or from other sites. As much as the images can draw our attention to the ads, they can be misleading. But again, it's about the total package of the ads and sites. As for Leolist, it is basically Backpage under a new name. The whole "verified photo" thing is stupid and means absolutely nothing. Another thing to check is if the same ad is posted in more than one city at the same time. Scammers will flood Leolist like chumming the waters fishing. As for the ladies on sites like this, they are here because they are professionals. You will find that the deposits are a necessity that will be the standard rather than the exception. This is due to all those asshats out there who no show and cancel and waste these ladies' time. We should look at it as a good thing from our perspective. How many times do one of us good clients end up not being able to see one of these lovely ladies because of these guys. I’m from Toronto and I tour quite often. I’ve had issues with prebooking appointments in advance with deposits in Fort Mac. That’s why I don’t visit this area. I’d rather visit Edmonton and Calgary where the gents are much more cooperative with prebooking and deposits. HOWEVER I’d be willing to change my mind if Fort Mac decides to be just as cooperative to! You can quite easily avoid scammers by simply doing your research on the girl. Does she have a few positive reviews on review boards where other gents have successfully seen her and can vouch for her? Does she have a professional website with professional photos? Have you google image searched her photos to make sure they actually belong to her? Does she have a high social media following and interaction with her followers? Doing these things prove the girl has spent her valuable time and money on her brand. Scam girls wouldn’t bother going through the trouble of wasting their time and paying top dollar for all these things. If you get scammed then unfortunately that’s on you for not doing your part and researching any lady you wish to see. I hope these tips help you!

What I understand is that it's your problem more than it is ours.

A city gets the market that it deserves. If you are not welling to provide a deposit, don't bother to do your research, don't fly providers to you, don't book touring ladies, well...you get what you give. I have to admit that I was a little shocked the first time I read that in an ad. I mean, if I saw that on a sign in a restaurant or any other type of service industry, I'd walk out.
