On a much larger scale I think the silver lining of 2020 is that we no longer take things for granted. As much as we complain, I think we even now should remember to be grateful for the fact this happened in 2020 rather than 1990... not only without video calls but a time without SMS, without personal emails AND where a long distances phone call cost an arm and a leg. We may feel isolated but honestly, we really aren't. Those who have contacted me and asked how I;m doing, my answer this year has been, "I'm great and grateful" and because of viewing things this way, I haven;t been miserable in the least. Another thing is I think we Canadians got a real reminder of just how amazing this country truly is. Yay Canada! Sending all of you love

What did I learn?... 1. Appreciate your situation now, it possibly could be worse. Example there is an outbreak of coronavirus in 3 federal prisons...80 inmates at Joyceville, 5 at Collins Bay and 3 at Warkworth. I retired from corrections (one of those prisons) but if still working I could be working in the middle of this outbreak 2. Appreciate time with family/friends. Most of it is phone calls or texts at least with me but a couple irl visits at the car pool each of us staying in our vehicles. 3. Further to appreciate time with friends, lost three this year 😢 Not from coronavirus but didn't get to see them or even go to their funeral(s) 4 Remember the ladies you see...dates I've booked I already paid the ladies for, its time in the future to look forward to and in the meantime I booked (so to speak) some virtual companionship.
