Many of the providers that require deposits are very reputable indeed.

I am still having a hard time with deposit. 1. I have yet to figure out an acceptable way to accept deposits. Banks have detailed info and guys don’t like that I get that. I can do CC via my porn site, but then it is the same with detailed info and that brings me to my second point. 2. I have yet to find a way to return a deposit should I have to cancel. My bank gives my real info as well during EMT and I don’t want that. 3. I don’t want to GCs because personally, I prefer cash. And it is so much easier on accounting records. Yes - I pay taxes and keep accounting records. Not to be confused with client records. Now if I have to cancel, I revert back to number 2. How to return a GC? 4. Since I was a teen, deposits have been drilled into my head to be accompanied by a contract. This is just the way my brain works, and I can’t seem to get past that. I don’t know why. I don’t fault any SP asking for them. I am and have been for a while, thinking about them as I just turn down clients that a deposit would help ease my mind about booking.

I do see both sides of it. There are so many "deposit scammers" out there that I can understand why some guys run from deposits as fast as they can. I hear it all the time. On the other side of it though, if it were my business, I'd absolutely consider requiring deposits. Time is their product and if it is wasted, they lose it forever. Just remember that there is a huge difference between booking an unknown from LL, and booking with an established lady. You don't need to develop hard and fast rules that apply to both situations. The bottom line is that if she has invested years developing a reputation that is her livelihood, then she is not going to risk that over a $50-$100 deposit. Would you risk your career and reputation over 50 bucks? I would not. It just wouldn't make any financial sense. That said, if you can't find any other information on her (verified of not), then I'd move on. The challenge on our end is being willing to spend a little bit of time doing research to be able to tell the difference. In most cases it is obvious.

people just need to stop being scummy lying cheats and then deposits will never be required 🙂 honestly i would never do a deposit, id take my business to more reputable providers, i understand why some providers want deposits, just not my cup of tea
