Unfortunately, the ugly side of the business can ruin a woman, which I was surprised to realize until the SP I had been seeing regularly for a couple years left the scene. You name it, she went through it. I am far from a point of information, but to me, I would say talking to reputable SP's and joining Lyla so as to access the SP warning section would be starters. I am sure there are forums online , blogs, that she could check out as well. Bottom line, she is putting herself at risk in all kinds of ways if she chooses to join in.

Allie, You are a beautiful soul and you have made life a great success. I appreciate a lot of what you said, and I've tightened my bootstraps as I have followed some of your wise words. The stigma against what we do for work it very challenging. As a newer person to places, I find it takes about 5 years to create a new city or town home. The east coast has its charm of everyone being friendly on the surface but it's very challenging to create solid friendships and people you can depend on. Add in what we do, it makes life very isolating. I personally don't let out what I do for work unless 100% necessary and sadly there are many you still can't trust with the information. I've lost places to live, a career and friends over it. This job, as much as we love it and it has it perks, has some darker demons like discrimination and isolation we have to deal with daily. Hopefully one day we can be fully accepted as the beautiful job we provide. Until then, I am available for a cup of tea and my door is open if you need an ear to listen.

Please help me to understand how a SP think that after they have checked in with someone that it’s ok to stop part way threw a session and respond to a text or have their phone ringing and chirping during a paid session . In my opinion it’s cool to check in and after a session but it’s totally off limits and disrespectful to do it while on a clients paid time .I will be having the conversation before future endeavours. Not to derail this post by adding more here but given the current state of the crime scene in Winnipeg, if WPS were focusing any amount of resources/budget on someone getting a R&T, that would bode VERY poorly for them in the public eye. My guess is it falls somewhere on the priority list below j-walking and bike theft.

While I admit to not being an expert on the current state of every place's licensing, the risk of going to any of the local MP's or AMP's is extremely low to nil. I do know and play hockey with several members of WPS including a couple of the Inspector rank. The days of the cops giving a damn about these places is long gone. Unless there is strong suspicion of a place engaging in human trafficking or employing underage girls, WPS has waaaaay better things to focus on than some dude getting and R&T from another consenting adult of legal age. WPS has their hands full with gangs, drugs, guns, property crime, a record number of murders. They really don't care if you visit The Studio or anywhere else.

Personally...My phones are on silent with clients and put away. Out of sight, out of mind. On the rare occasion I have the volume on, I try to let the client know I am expecting a call. Or if I am dealing with another matter as they come in I do apologize and let them know what's going on. We can't control when the Drs. Office calls for the appointment we need, the kids requiring immediate help or whatever else part of regular life that needs immediate attention. Sadly everyone's schedule doesn't revolve around us together. People that are not taking care of the client in front of them are busy working harder than they need to be. The client in front of them is the one that can become a much loved regular not the ones blowing up your phone that didn't read the ad. The potential clients that read the ad, understand you run a business and will patiently wait for your reply. It's the difference, imo, of professionalism vrs non.

Before I started in this industry I researched it for awhile, I followed some providers on social media ect. But honestly all the research in the world won’t truly prepare you for making this your full time job. You need to learn a lot of different skills. Marketing, scheduling, safety protocols, photography, learn where/how to make ads, reading personality over text/email/phone calls ect. also comes down to the type of person she is, does she have thick skin? Will she deal well with the not so good side of this industry? Overall only she knows these things about herself but she can feel free to reach out to me if she likes.
