No, not at all. It just means the governing body that has the final say in .ca domain names is Canadian and falls under Canadian jurisdiction. Where .com domain names are USA domain names and no jurisdiction. We are still a canadian company and we are still complying with the new laws as everyone should. The dots/dashes are annoying, we all invested a lot of time and me myself many years of my life building this site and to have to conform this because the government pulls this BS makes me sick to my stomach! The stress is killing me! No one HATES this more then I ... i can assure you of that. But short of packing up the company and moving to another country we must comply. Other sites that changed domain names and moved servers to Amsterdam are NOT safe as the owners are still in Canada. If the police wants to go after them it's not hard to find them if they are taking any sort of payment. I do not believe you can make commercial porn in Ontario. I recall some law about that. Quebec I think is ok.

You can POST whatever you want on your personal website... legally. Problem is NO ONE is allowed to let you ADVERTISE your website legally if your website offers prostitution services.

Some people feel the need to blame everyone else when things dont go the way they want. The laws change, we must comply bottom line. If you do not wish to do so leave cerb/lyla and find somewhere that will risk breaking the laws. No witch hunt no one else to blame if you refuse to comply when the rest of us are doing so. CLASSIFIED ADS - EDIT THEM OR LOOSE THEM! UPDATE BEFORE NOVEMBER 25th !! I noticed a LOT of classified ads still advertising things that are going to now be illegal. You either have to remove anything from the ads that is now illegal for us to advertise for you or we will need to delete your ad completely. If you previously offered prostitution related services you must remove such things (or hints of such things) from this site. I will NOT edit the ads (that would take too long) so I am going to go over them and start deleting any that DO NOT comply with the new laws. I will check to see if you have read this post and if you have and did not bother to update your classified ad you will get a infraction and possibly a suspension from the site. Leaving the classified up makes more work for me. I am very busy making sure the site conforms to all the new laws so it can continue on for you all. Please do your part. A lot people dont really understand calling images from remote lications. I often fis these problems. Stuff like httpwww.site.com ot http://http://www.site.com or http://www.site.com or even c:/users/name/pictures/ and gmail.com/hshhetgehjiios/images/embed/pic.jpg etc etc etc..... Nothing to do with cerb just bad urls The other issue is to egt the thumbnail in the preview it must be the first bbcode on the page, so if someone does bold then inserts the image the system will usually not make a thumbnail for the image.

Can you send me examples please, if i can see this first hand i can usually find a way to fix. Cache is a problem right now, that will clear in a few days for those who do not know how to clear it. Also the 301 redirects are now in place so broken links for most should work, if not send me examples and i will adjust the htaccess for 301 redirects. Plus its very costly and very difficult to prove. In order for the law to find out who and if you were the one to post this info the process is huge and insanely long. They would need to first gain access to the server logs (located in another country) and i believe this would require interpol (and lets face it... Thats pretty sad to get interpol involved on a long shot) then they would need to trace your ip that was used to post the comment, then they need to have the courts suopeana the isp to find out who owns the ip. This is only good if you used your own isp (free wifi everwhere makes this a longshot for law) also if you used a proxy then they would need to try to supeana that company too first and most proxies purge server logs to remove trace. Then they need to suopeana you and confiscate your computer and see if any trace exists of you being that person who used your ip to post that thread.... Following me here? They need to prove it was you at the keyboard too. How impossible is all this? Its insane to go threw all this for a john charge especially since they will probably trade a john charge for a john school visit to teach you how morally wrong it is to pay for sex. The police hopefully will use resources in a better way, target human trafficking, pimps, streetwalkers, etc... They have many bigger fish to fry. And you know police officers, judges, lawyers, government officials, etc... Have often been found to call pros. They are called CONSERVATIVE for a reason! THEY OBJECT TO ANYTHING THEY FEEL IS MORALY QUESTIONABLE! They depend heavily on the church and christian morals. This is a migration problem, using cerb.ca instead of lyla.com ... I think. Be sure your URL / WEB ADDRESS now says www.lyla.com I see we still have some bugs in the photo albums. I will do my best to correct this.

You can use https on cerb/lyla https://www.lyla.com/ It is just the certificate is a non trusted certificate so you will get a warning.

The VERY FIRST adult discussion website in Canada (at least that I know of) that had info on escorts was created by no other then "Joyful Spirit" (A member here who use to go by the name "LYLA" and she built the website and was a pioneer for online escorts in Canada). The site was LYLA.COM and was affectionately known as "Lyla's List". It also displayed ads for Escorts-Canada.com and when LYLA wanted to retire the site she passed the domain name on to the owners of escorts-canada.com. They (EC) continued lyla's list for a few years but when the SPONLY area on LYLA.COM at the time known as demimonde was taken over by some of the ladies and failed miserably and the discussion board part was hacked bad due to a old bbs system that was full of security holes the discussion element of the site and the sponly area of the site were put onto the back burner. The lyla.com site stayed active but only to display ads for escorts-canada (without a discussion element) instead we created a separate site cerb.ca to start from scratch. So... We are bringing back LYLA.COM as we need a NON CANADIAN DOMAIN NAME for this site. WHY?? Basically we do not trust the Canadian powers that be, with these new laws it's only a matter of time when our compliance is not good enough so this way we have a .COM domain name (canada does not have any governing body over .com only .ca) so we felt this needed to happen sooner then later. BUT... love you like a sister is a most excellent modern day urban take on the name! We should adapt that as this community has always been about watching each others backs, helping the ladies stay safe and all around positive side of the adult industry. Since we are sisters and brothers and we now have all those annoying DOT.DOT.DOT censors all around us maybe we should use "Love You Like A ..." as the name! ;)

Escort is fine to use, it means date. Problem is cities can actually license escorts. They require police clearances, huge fee's, big restrictions, heavy by-law enforcement, etc... Windsor, Winnipeg and Calgary all know all too well. Cities like Barrie and other parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan also have escort by-laws in place.

That would be great but unfortunately that plugin is not available for this site software (at least not this version) and to custom code it would take time and money, so we can look at the down the line. For now the censors will be in place till the ladies clean up profiles and stop posting bad things in the ads, if no one does this then we need no censors. Right!

again... I hope to loose all these censors in a month or two (after we train everyone to stop using them) I do it too... I use these words without thinking and then realize the censor caught them and fix it. Old habits are hard to break. We can also see who is purposely trying to circumvent them and those people can get the boot.
