Wow, Thanks guys! I had my doubts that a board without negative reviews and without fighting would survive. I am very glad it is working out (well in Ottawa at least) and we have a amazing group of guys & gals here! You all make the board what it is... I just keep the peace (or at least try).

I always hide the voters names but I am open to hear what the community here would prefer. I think most people would prefer the vote be anonymous because they would not want any of the ladies being upset that one of the members voted for someone else and not them. It may cause less people to vote or to change the vote that they were going to make originally.

Well... Emma did PM me and tried to explain this. I reactivated her 5stargals account and asked her to come explain it all you to all the members so we will have to see if she does. She claims that 5stargals is just her and her friend (No guys involved just the two of the ladies). The guys she claims are just friends of hers who she always tells where she is and appointment times (for her safety) - actually I recommend to all the ladies to do this if they can. I agree that race of the guys should not matter (Pimps come in all race and color) and assuming they are bad news because of skin color is not only wrong but really silly (That actually didn't cross my mind until someone made a fuss about the term "colored guys" as I just thought Pete was describing the guys and well... let's face it a good description of someone with dark skin is either black or colored... If they were described as "two white guys" no one would call foul... Now supposedly she lost track of time and did not get them out of the room in time for Pete's visit but she could not explain why one answered her phone and made a fuss (Young girl, new to the business, not well thought out of course) mixed with (over protective young friend showing off for the girl I would assume - or something stupid like that). Now I have no idea if she is telling me BS or being honest - I am just letting you all know and you can make up your minds. I doubt she will let this happen again (but you never know) and it looks like others had a good time with her so some of you may give her the benefit of the doubt and help her try to rebuild her reputation here in a positive light.... Hopefully she posts this explanation in her own words like I asked her to (that would be a good start). Now,

No, I use to own a strip club years ago and I also managed one in Hamilton for a year or so. I met Jane Jones at the LQ in Toronto... supposedly someone in the front row got clawed at one of her shows but that was just hearsay (Not sure if that ever happened).

The reason I kept this is because PistolPete is a senior member here and he claims that the guy answered the phone and freaked out on him. We don't know for sure that these guys were pimps but answering her phone and telling off Pete is a pretty good indication that she is mixed up with the wrong people. A number of members had good experiences with her however so it's a hard call here for me. Emma: If you are reading this please feel free to PM me (I need both sides of the story as this appears to fall into the dangerous encounters area so I am currently leaving this posted). We can chat a bit if you wish to help get to the bottom of this. If you are mixed up with pimps then we don't want to be referring cerb members to you for sure (Not the type of sp's that our members really want to be introduced to) but if this is a misunderstanding or you fell into a bad situation come chat with me please.

I am all for custom websites when they are done right (I think you misunderstood my point a little as it sounds like you think I think the free ones are somehow better - I didn't mean to come across that way). It's a lot of work for the web designer to convince the ladies that custom is better then free (especially when done right) ... only a small number of the ladies have any interest in how to promote a website and how the internet in general works to trying to explain why custom is better to someone with no knowledge of how the net works is very difficult and a BIG uphill battle... worst when you add all the horror stories of the ladies getting ripped off from bad web designers (giving large deposits and getting crap or sometimes nothing at all) it is just very hard to overcome. A web designer really needs a large amount of referrals to tap the escort design market and they must be really good at explaining how it would benefit them. The few ladies who take the time to research how the internet works and how to promote a website and market themselves really do amazing with custom sites and get the best return on their advertising dollars. With all the new content management stuff available. custom template systems and portals it really is easy to put up a website and manage it yourself. Hosting is now reasonably priced (For adult related sites that are not porn it's less then 20.00 a month for quality hosting so that is not a very big expense but to someone who does not know the difference they often feel like they were ripped off when they find out other people get a website hosted for free).

That is true about flash for all the search engines except Google. Google can now index flash sites (They tear apart the swf files and examine them - seriously they announced it a few weeks ago! here is the link Matt - and anyone else interested) but they still can not tear apart images so if you design your site like a brochure (fancy fonts in photoshop) then add it as a photo/image to your site the words on that image will be lost. So you need to sacrifice the esthetics's for the function. As for the free sites they do have problems being indexed by google as they look like spam sites a lot of the time or doorway pages as they use all the same templates but different subdomains and url redirects. It's so hard to get top index pages on search engines these days however that most of the ladies would just stick to advertising in the popular directories.

Yup, that happens a lot in some places. Ottawa is bad for it but other cities actually are plagued with this problem (like you all are for the no-shows). I guess the logic is that if you keep your competition busy and they keep turning down calls and running all over town because they have the time booked already then it increases your odds to get calls at those times. Stupid eh? What a way to damage the business... This thread is proof of that. It's just greed mixed with a lack of business experience and ethics (as you said it is a "cut throat business" to many people). We are trying to get the ladies communicating with one another here on cerb but it's a uphill battle. Because of the type of business everyone sees everyone as competition so the ladies often keep a very big distance between them (and many fight with each other). We are trying to help change that, work together and do good things for the industry. It's easy to forget sometimes that "most" of the people in the business have no business management training or prior business skills. (I DID SAY MOST - WE DO HAVE MANY EXCEPTIONS). Without some of these business management skills people (in general) have a hard time grasping business concepts and showing "professionalism". Most career/business people know that if they miss an appointment with a client your pretty much screwed and lost that deal for good... and not to mention we all know it's extremely unprofessional. Financial tracking is also not at the top of the list of business skills, organization is horrible with most and I can't even go into the marketing and promotions. (Again we have many exceptions but more then 60% of the ladies this holds true to - and agency owners) But like I say over and over (This business is not like any other business in the world)... It must be treated very differently as it's very unique (and special). Where the ladies may need improvement in business management they make up for in tenfold in "other skills" so you must accept the good with the bad.

You guys obviously have a problem in Ottawa and your getting to the bottom of it. I don't blame JoyfulC or anyone else for taking this approach and I don't think anyone should feel disappointed that the ladies are doing this as your all aware of the problems so I would think you would expect this to be happening with most of the ladies. JoyfullC just has enough honesty to tell it like it is. Other cities do not have such a problem (this is pretty unique to Ottawa for some reason) so at least your finding out the real reasons these things are happening.

If a place has a licensed RMT working (and you see the RM therapist) then nothing is bad about that. They had a few places in Toronto that were licensed RMT / body rub parlors and I actually talked with the owner of one and he said they do a number of insurance claims and can because they are RMT licensed. Now don't abuse the system!! ;) if you need RMT work then make sure your not sacrificing one for the other or getting caught up in a scam as no good can come from that.

Some of the guys are chatting as well with each other. Don't be affraid to say hi to people in the chat and get a conversation going... The voice system works awesome! I spoke with Rick (rickoshadows) today in chat and it's amazingly clear audio stream! It would be nice to see how it handles a whole room of video and audio streams!

LOL... that was a very quick 2 minute render (don't look closely)... I just had a thought and through it together. Well the reason we use the "MOD" name is because a few of us share the account. Over 90% of the time it's me (Chris) who you see comment on the site as this is really my project but three of us here have access to this same moderation account (in case I am not able to check in) but none of the others post threads on the site (just me). They really just make sure no one is doing bad things, spamming the site, etc.. when I am away or busy with another project.

You do know that most Chinese people would never eat any of that right? LOL.. I think they do this for the tourists. None of it would hurt you to eat it but that stuff is not a part of the average diet in China.
