Car dates are illegal and can not be discussed here
-
This is more of a fear mongering thread. Posts are dated and right now its not illegal ... so asking this question is silly. If a law changes or a new law is introduced nothing you did in the past before that law is submissable. you did something in the past before the law was made you never did anything illegal.
-
... I hate to say "i told you so" and i think everyone was ignoring me in hopes that the laws were challenged and would be somehow made better (you can look back at my posts as i warned everyone again and again) i warned everyone that no matter how the law was changed it would not fair well. If anyone actually thought a conservative government would NOT do this (or would listen to public opinion) is delusional. It looks like they are asking for the most extreme (to appease the conservative extremists and settle for a middle ground so they can say they tried).... But you never know! Keep this in mind when you next vote! Yes, its horrible. Yes, its worse then i even expected. Yes, we may all be in for a horrible ride. We are all scrambling on our end... meetings with lawyers and trying to make sure we are prepared for the worst.

It is illegal to advertise prostitution in much of the usa but "escorts", "massage", "etc" ... Is paid for time and not advertising sex... So that is not illegal. It is just a matter of advertising with choice words in the usa. We are not called canada's prostitution recommendation board (cprb) things would change but they would just be pushing the industry underground, to think this would make it better, safer or make fewer people do it is ridiculous. I guess the owners of the sites could all just move to Amsterdam or Belize or some place like that and run the sites outside of the country. Maybe i can go too! ;)

How to post recomendation (New Moderated Member)
mod replied to p_hodson's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
Get posting... you need 5 public thread posts and a member for at least 5 days before you can post about a new lady who no one has recommendation yet. If the lady already has recommendations please just add to the existing recommendation thread. -
Not just me either... We do have two mods here (and occasionally a third) and lots of great members who flag the bad posts for us. It really is all about the community.

General Rules - what not to do
mod replied to rickyj's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
You watch too much U.S. TV! LOL... Prostitution is legal in canada. Lots of threads exist (use the search feature) on this topic and what is and is not legal. -
This site ONLY allows positive comments in public posts. If you do not have anything positive to say about a SP (or anything for that matter) when someone asks please simply say nothing at all. You can PM them if you wish with PRIVATE INFO but do not post publicly. You CAN NOT POST comments like I do not recommend Info on other site don't do it! stay away not worth it etc... etc.... etc......... That is NOT what this site is for. YES we know some of you would like it to be and YES we know some of you feel it is your god given right to post whatever you want on our members only board but the truth is... our house our rules and we DO NOT want it here. If you must read negative comments or if you must post negative comments then please do so on OTHER websites... or start your own. Do not PM me after I give you a warning or infraction telling me how I should run the site either (This is especially annoying with new members) yes of course mr. 1 post guy you can tell me how we should run the site you are so helpful! (NOT!) If you don't like our rules... start your own website and let us enjoy this one.

:) it is not (and has not been) easy to do. It does take a lot of moderation and a lot of really great members.

Would you be worried about being scammed
mod replied to CoolCucumber's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
I am closing this thread as it falls into the airing dirty laundry in public. I also dont like how this is escalating and is against the nature of this site -
I removed the nasty comments that are not in the spirit of the cerb community.

Council has voted to include a new section for "BEST OF" threads and other "NON ESCORT" related "FUN" threads. This new section is so that the other discussion area's do not get clogged up with these types of threads and so people who are not interested in these can just simply avoid this area. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=357

Council has passed a vote to now allow all blog promotional threads in general discussion area's. If you have a BLOG and wish to promote it in your signature or include it where relevant in a thread or start a new thread discussing a blog you may do so.

Cerb Council of Members - Need Volenteers
mod replied to mod's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Good question. At this time no, we let the council members stay as long as they meet the login and participation requirements. A number of members have retired from council letting new council in so we have not really had a need to have a maximum time. -
Hi Everyone. We are about to do another vote for council members and I just wanted to make sure everyone knows what the council here is all about. Council is a group of members (both men and women) from cerb who help guide and govern the site. For example if someone with over 50 posts breaks the rules and requires some sort of suspension or removal from the site the council discusses this in private and votes on the members status. Also the council discusses and votes on things such as new threads, new rules, changes to rules, issues and all sorts of things that help make cerb what it is. If you have at least 50 posts, you log in to cerb at least once per week on average, enjoy the site and have been an active member for at least 6 months and would like to help with cerb in a positive way please submit your name for council. The more names we have to choose from the better. We need both men and women (and agencies/spa's are now allowed to put names in as well as of recent). Help make cerb even better! It only takes about an hour of time a month at most for most people to read the few council threads and vote on topics. More info here: Council member needed <- CLICK

Thank you, you said that a lot more polite then I would have. Here is the deal. Incalls are not illegal but common bawdy house's (Brothels) are. What makes a "Common Bawdy House" is a place frequently used for the purpose of prostitution. Some examples of this make it illegal and legal and yes it is a fine line. For example. A lady rents a hotel room and does ONE call in this room. Technically it is a incall but it is not a common bawdy house. Where the law seams to take interest in is... a brothel (Commercial units) houses / apartments with high traffic that get complaints from neighbors houses / apartments with multiple ladies that get complaints from neighbors. spa's offering more then a happy ending stripclubs offering anything other then naked dancing anything that has ties to drugs sex slavery (Asian and European fs massage spa's for instance are at the top of the police hit lists usually in most cities and are often being investigated) Police know that the ladies are more safe working in groups in a in-call situation. They don't want to see pimps, drugs, slavery, etc... and no one should want the ladies to have to work in conditions that make it unsafe. Properly run brothels / co-ops would be the safest but the flip side is all the morality issues and public outcry and nuisance complaints and these people usually have louder voices as most people in this industry wish to keep it private and will often never voice a public opinion. The internet is changing that! An apartment with LOW traffic (1 to 3 ladies all working indie as a co-op and looking out for each other and not profiting from one another) from the same location rarely gets noticed .... but ... if the neighbors complain (traffic, drugs, unwanted individuals hanging around, pimps, etc..) the police will investigate and it is a lot easier for them to prove it is a common bawdy house when more then one lady is working from it so the police can shut these small operations down easy in neighbors complain. The police must investigate and be able to prove that it is a common bawdy house and that is REALLY hard for them to do with just one or two low volume ladies working indie from a house or apartment. Again... this is a much more safe way to work for the ladies we do allow them to advertise in-calls available and we just assume they are renting a different hotel room for each call and doing it all 100% legally!

New MEMBERS SEARCH feature added (Beta)
mod replied to mod's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Thanks, but it was added in 2009 so it's not really new. -
Classified ads and ad posting is available to NEW members (the only difference is that they are MODERATED - Meaning one of the two moderators here must review the post before it goes live). Posting classifieds or in the announcements area is available to all SP's. The SHOUTBOX is not available to NEW MEMBERS you do need 5 posts approved before it allows you to use this feature. The more you post and contribute the more things open up for you as well. At 50+ posts for instance a SP can ask to be given access to the BAD DATE area and the SP ONLY area where the ladies chat and help each other in private. This is a HUGE resource and helps keep everyone a little safer.

ANY NEW VOLUNTEERS? We could use a few more names for the vote for council. It only requires a few minutes of your time each month to discuss the direction of the site and vote on problems we may be having. If you feel cerb is like your second home help us make it better for everyone.
-
Start by placing an ad in the classifieds http://www.cerb.ca/classifieds then you can post TWO ads per day (12+ hours apart) in your cities announcements area. For example this is the link to the Ottawa announcements area http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=316 (you did not fill in your location in your profile) You also have the shoutbox and the chatroom to utilize (Be sure to read the rules: Rules & FAQ )

Parliament has 1 year to bring in new law as Criminal Code provisions remain in place. During that time all current laws STAND! (Read the fine print people!)
-
Just a reminder that at this time FS in or solicited in a gentlemans club is still very much illegal. We do not discuss illegal activities on cerb please.

a form of plagiarism?
mod replied to Miss Jessica Lee's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Here is my take on it (and since I enforce the rules here on this site this is how it goes down here) If someone steals someones photos, unique tag lines or an obvious cut and past of someones text from either an ad on cerb or someone personal website I will intervene. For FAKE PHOTOS you basically loose access to cerb without warning for a MINIMUM of 6 months so that on the hopes the person smartens up and realizes how unethical that is and starts to use REAL photos we can welcome them back. For STOLEN TEXT I issue a warning and delete the offending post if I feel it is a valid complaint against the person. If they do it again I suspend them for a minimum of 7 days... then boot them from the site if you continue to do it. I do NOT hunt out fake photos or stolen text, it is only brought to my attention (and the other moderators attention) if someone FLAGS the post using the button. So please if you see an OBVIOUS stolen text report it with a link to the original text. Same with photos, when reporting fake photos it is best to report them with a link to the REAL photo.
