You should watermark your images. free websites exist to do this online such as https://www.umarkonline.com/ put your website and phone number on the actual images along with your name and no one will every use them.

As a newbie one should read as much as possible and explore the site. You can post in the threads and add to existing recommendations but you simply can not start a NEW recommendation.

I did remove all the censors and loosen restrictions on nude photos (Excluding outright porn and anything too vulgar). Censors were here to protect the guys too, if you post that you paid a lady and received sexual services your admitting to breaking the current laws.... lots of people dont know the current laws. This is mostly due to the laws changing in Canada so dramatically. Our company is and was not willing to go against the law. We would win a court battle as we all know it's unconstitutional what they are doing but it would cost so much to fight it the risk outweighs the reward. The site is not a money maker (it could be ... but we never perused it financially) so unlike bigdog, now mag and others who have fought the law but had large money backing them we do not have that luxury so drastic changes had to be made to conform to the current laws. It's unfortunate but it's a fact of life. Terb/merb/etc... they moved the servers to another country and hid everything in a way that it can not trace back to anyone running it in Canada. Thats a huge risk for them too if they are still in Canada running it (Maybe they moved too?) I don't know personally but we were not willing to move to another country either. No member here is stepping up to run the site against the laws either... (I didn't think anyone would as it's ok if someone else does it but no one ever wants to take the risk personally) The company who has the offer on the site right now is from another country so maybe if the deal finally goes through we will see it back to the way it was. Not sure what tomorrow holds.

No, Phaedrus is correct if they were banned or suspended from the site it was because they refused to follow the rules (Not because of the rule itself) and if they were banned they are NOT welcome back. Paying the 20.00+ a day on bp may net you a higher call volume (lots of crap calls too) but most ladies pay over 400.00 a month to bp (more if advertising in toronto and vancouver from what i am told). Hell the agencies in ottawa pay to advertise here no problem, right now they are whats keeping this site afoat. And plenty of people pay terb/perb/merb each month for advertising supporting them with all the negative comments allowed so honestly i am interested to see what will become of this site and community. But i will have no say in it and well everones has had a fair chance to buy the site and i was really hoping someone in the community would step up but its out of my hands once the deal goes through. Some people feel advertising should be free for them (and might leave) but many people i think would support the site and pay for ads. It costs money to run a site like this (a lot of money) and a lot of time and no one works for free! if the community does not support it financially once it changes hands then the site would need to change (porn ads, pay per clicks, bait and switch advertisers like bp, etc... They would run it like a company not a charity! No company is going to run it and not have it be profitable. Why bother. Ec used it as a traffic tool and did not care if it made a profit but these days that makes no difference. A new company taking it over and dropping big dollars to buy it will hopefully have some money and expertise in driving the traffic up. Traffic is money in the online world. If the ladies do not support it as a recommendation board then the traffic revenue has to come somewhere else and that probably means negative reviews and focus on the guys and not su much caring about the ladies (we always put the ladies first and the community as a whole first). And as for competition... Nothing wrong with that lots of traffic in this world to be number two. Yahoo and bing prove that every day.... Plus the poll proves one thing, the majority of the site does not really exist as most people want something others do not want and you cant please everyone.

Cerb/lyla was always supported by escortscanada.com financially and the biggest issue is ec is no longer producing enough revenue to support the site here. This is also what is making the site hard to sell with the deal we are working on here. I am afraid (and you all probably see this too) that one of two things will probably happen with new owners. 1) they switch the format to full review board to drive up traffic and membership. Yes lyla is unique with the positive only rule but that makes limited membership and lower traffic. We all know that and unfortunately that does not pay the bills. 2) the other option (the one i am pitching) is to charge for advertising, a reasonable rate for everyone who wishes to post announcements or classified ads on the site (like the agencies do in ottawa and toronto) keeping the discussion area and the sponly area and all the other areas free for everyone. If the site could generate enough income to be profitable this way then it could remain positive... But would require the support of the ladies in the way of advertising dollars. I cant see it working for anyone any other way... I guess if they covered the site with porn click banners and allowed the asian agencies to advertise here that could help too but lets face it, a recommendation board makes a nice friendly place but it does not pay the bills. I guess they could change the site to something completely different too if they wanted to. I cant get any info and its making me a little stir crazy.

They will sell it no matter what if the deal can be done in a way that it makes sense business wise of course but maybe with a little insight and COMMENTS HERE from the members voicing options will help the new owners with what the majority members here would like to see. I was really hoping someone here (a long term member) would want to buy the site and run it but most of the interest seams to be from the UK and SPAIN. I know the laws make it difficult to run from Canada but with the right set up it can be done (the other review sites are set up in a way that makes them work even run from canada) We do have one very serious offer but it's not too late if someone wants to make an offer.

So as many of you are aware lyla.com is up for sale and we do have a few interested parties. The most serious offer so far is a company outside Canada who already owns a number of similar successful boards. They will probably change this to a full on review board if they purchase it. What are your thoughts on that (I know many of you have wanted that for a long time now and we never did it for a number of reasons, it was a BIG conflict of interest with EC and we always tried to stay positive for the industry but honestly when CL and BP took off we probably should have jumped ship ourselves but held to what we thought was right and here we are selling the site a few years later). None the less, the sale is not set in stone but to help any potential buyers how about we (as a community) tell prospective buyers what we want to see here? Not sure it will help or not but I am sure it wont hurt.

Remember too that it is possible (It has happened in the past) where the photos tin eye found are actual real photos of the lady, we have had actual content models who are escorts as well, photos from peoples personal photos that they used (I know it's silly) as a working photo as well but it does happen. We even once accused a PLAYB0Y model on EC for stealing photos from PLAYB0Y to pass off on her own, she sent a verification photo and she was the actual PLAYB0Y model. Ooops. So be sure not to actually ACCUSE anyone of using fake photos but it's ok to point out that they are found on other sites as 99.9% of the time it indicates fake photos.

When commenting that one of the photos is fake we ask that you include some proof (Tineye/google images/etc...) and a reason why you think it is fake.

Sites get hacked all the time, security patches are released often for most opensource software and popular paid software like the kind caf/terb/lyla/etc use.... It happens cause no matter how smart a person thinks they are someone out in the world is smarter and figures out a security flaw before you even know one exists. Now... Just cause the site gets hacked does not mean the hackers have access to encrypted info like passwords. They could but most hackers just change pages or send spam these days and really just nuisance. We run a daily backup of the entire server, we run firewalls and dos attack systems and much more... No matter how much you do its never enough. I am sure they will clean out the hacked files, patch the software and turn it all back on.
