I actually have a list going of people who has offered to write columns for the magazine and anyone interest please PM me (Angela I added your name tonight). I want it to be classy and a very positive source (Avoiding the typical media stereotype crap) If we can add contact like these video's into the magazine it would add a whole new level to the magazine. I am getting excited about that project again. The launch of the new EC system is over a month behind (was suppose to be launched at Christmas) and it's getting really close but between that and the last few month+ fighting with the cerb servers and system the magazine has been left on the shelf and it's the one thing I am really excited to work on! Talk now is that they may use the lyla.com website as the magazine site (keeping the classified ads that they have always held) and working the cerb site in as the magazine discussion board (Bringing EC/Lyla/CERB and the magazine all together on the lyla.com site) - Very exciting and I am sure lyla would love to see that too!! I think it's the perfect domain name for an elegant magazine for the industry and since it was pretty much the first escort discussion site in Canada back in 1996 it has history and still a ton of traffic. I really hope we end up using that site for the magazine and I hope this thing with the video's and pin up girls works out with it. I have no idea who they would use for the models for the video's but I bet they will have some site set up to apply. I don't want anything to do with that side of it... I just want the content. The example video I saw is amazing!! Music is REALLY good and it's SEXY!! like an erotic music video in black and white. Would be a GRREAT bonus for the digital magazine.

We are still working on this e-zine and I wanted to ask the guys (and the ladies) what they thought of this... A videographer and music producer approached us the other day asking if we could design a website for them with a paid members access area to do 40's and 50's style black and white erotica. The video's would be like sexy pin up girls (Some men as well but the focus would be on the ladies) and the video's would be shot as erotic style music videos. It's a very interesting concept. They won't be full nude (possibly some topless images - more on the artsy side and appealing to the erotic fantasy - really high end music and video work) and some erotic stories. (Target is to be Appealing to both men and women) Got me thinking that this may be perfect for our ezine project so I ran it by them and they are interested in working together. I pitched to them that the magazine could be subscription based (ipad/android/etc..) so we are looking into what apple will allow in the apps as far as sexy videos. If anyone out here develops iphone/ipad apps and has any experience with this please let me know. We plan to use indesign to create the ezine as it has the options to publish to web/ipad/epub for output as well as print so making the ipad ezine is easy and it easily allows you to embed mp4 video as well. Do you guys/gals thing this would be good? It would be adult but not porn, have some adult stories, have some really well done videos each month with audio, have stories for our industry (Canada based) - possibly a US based on in the future. And if we can get it approved by apple we want to publish the ads on EC as classified ads on the back pages (No nudity of course as apple draws a fine line in that area).

(Hijacking my own thread here) On Boxing day I bought a Kurig (K Cup machine) after one of my family members got one for Christmas. I tried it out and fell in love. Instant coffee anytime of the day (and the coffee is really good not like the old malita ones and crappy other single cup machines over the years). I no longer drink 2+ extra large timmies a day... (Drinking 3-4 of these however so I am not saving any money on coffee but saving time going to timmies and risking the chance of a bad cup of coffee. If timmies was smart they would jump on board with Timothy's and make a line of K-Cups for the machine... but the "Colombian la vereda" tases better then timmies and if you drink your coffee with creme and sugar and like timmies you will like the Colombian la vereda!

Thanks Loralee, I moved this to the TECH corner. That info is a little outdated (The specifics of some of the search engines) but it would give the basics as to what a Spider/Bot/Robot/Crawler/Scraper/etc... does (They have MANY names for these programs).

If you VOTE someone out click the REPORT USER first so that it saves a LOG file for me to review and send me a quick PM as well (I check PM's a number of times every day) I will ban his name/ip from chat and possibly ban him from cerb altogether - it will not stop them from going to another computer or registering a new account using a proxy or dynamic IP but if we keep banning them it does become a hassle for them to set up accounts. It's impossible to stop the childish shit disturbers or some ass who gets off on being a dick (Thankfully we don't have a huge issue with this on cerb - just a few here and there). It will happen (It happens in every chat room) and you need to have a few extra layers of skin to deal with these guys. If you react to them or let it bother you then you are giving them what they want... if you ignore them they get board and go away. I MADE THIS THREAD A STICKY TOO I doubt many of the problem people will ever read this however and it may encourage others to act bad in chat as it puts the idea into a persons head and it's obvious that it bothers some of you. Some things are just out of a persons control.

Thought we lost another hard drive but it turned out to be the SATA power adapter had a problem. Easy fix but it caused some Database tables to corrupt so let me know if anything is wacky as I had to repair the database.

I agree, I am sure many of our members will have lots of good (and bad) ideas and suggestions. Problem with doing that now is it could end up causing more kaos and confusion... we need to take baby steps here or it could all blow up in our face. We have already lost one council member (Nothing related to council - she just left the business abruptly) so I do need to replace one of the ladies on the council and we have already had a few "bumps" we have had to deal with and overcome so once we iron them all out I am sure we would all welcome some input. Lots of people over the years have sent me PMs with suggestions, idea's ... and lots of people who want to tell me what I am doing wrong and how I should be running the site - Obviously like anyone I hate most of those people as they are usually unrealistic and whinny! ... but I have had great suggestions and comments. In fact many of the features that are unique to cerb are because of suggestions from all our members! I don't want to overload our new council members with too much at once!

LOL... Sounds like a plan! Maybe we can plan it for next year in Ottawa. I am going to check out the Toronto one in Feb and see how they manage it and what kind of turn out it gets.

I received ANOTHER PM from a member who was concerned because GOOGLE indexes cerb.ca. He says that his significant other has ways to "find" his ALIAS on cerb and thinks we should block the search engines from indexing cerb. Well... if your S/O can figure out your alias on cerb you allowed this to happen - it has NOTHING to do with google or cerb! Basically if this happens you were sloppy! He was obviously doing something he should not have been doing and got caught (Probably a tech savvy S/O) ... and now looking to put the blame on someone or something instead of himself. This happens with the LADIES just as much as the guys. The ladies do something foolish and allow people in their personal life to EASILY find them online working as an escort (and that causes PANIC for many and a headache for me as they want me to delete all traces of them on cerb) - after the fact this is pointless!! Everything that should be indexed by google (and other search engines) is. We block access to the PRIVATE sections (SP ONLY, COUNCIL, ETC...) and we hide your IP address's and Emails on your profiles. The PUBLIC part of the site is indexed and cerb runs a very good SEO system that ensures everything is available and indexed on google and other search engines. Why? This brings us traffic, allows new members to find cerb, allows the ladies to find us and it is a very important part of the site. It also pays the bills! This site is FREE for you all to use but nothing in this world is FREE. Your posts are indexed with the search engines and are considered "Content" and this content on google and other search engines creates links to cerb.ca. In turn our sponsors (All the advertisers here and escorts-canada and other sites we own get traffic from cerb and traffic is money). This is a business after all and it may be a free site for you all to use but the reason this site exists is to generate traffic and feed traffic to the people who pay for this site (The people who make this site free for everyone who uses it). These days if your sites are not listed on google... your nobody and nobody will find you! As of today we have 91700 listings on google alone! This brings THOUSANDS of people to cerb every day! Thousands of people who would not have found cerb without these listings. We can not hide things from google to keep them from your significant others. If you are sneaking around doing something you should not then your on your own to protect yourself. What can you do to keep your identity and actives private? 1) I would suggest you use a username that no one could associate with you. 2) Erase your cookies. history and temporary internet files everytime you are done using the internet 3) Check your computer for stuff like keystroke loggers (as it's common for SO's to use these things if they suspect you of doing things you should not). They act as trojans and quietly sit in the background and log every button you push on your keyboard.... any tech savvy 12 year old kid knows how to do this and you can now buy USB thumb drives that make it possible for ANYONE to do this with very little knowledge of how a computer works. 4) Don't post anything too personal. Ladies this goes for you as well. If you use your PERSONAL cell phone for business it will be INDEXED On google and your friends can GOOGLE your cell number and find your ads. Don't be foolish, invest in a WORK PHONE and keep your private life private! 5) If your name is "Richard Henry John" and you choose a alias here like "R.H.J" or "DickH" or "Rich john" your asking to be identified. This is just silly to do and you would be surprised how many people do this. **** The reason we use Alias's is so that your posts and activities on these sites are anonymous. We hide your IP and Email from public (Keeping your id private). Q: Is cerb really FREE? A: No, Nothing is Free. Q: How can you run CERB for free? A: This site is a BUSINESS and is here to make money. It costs TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars to run this site each year. Someone has to pay for that! You don't pay for using cerb and the handful of banner advertisers help but don't cover the cost of the servers per year let alone my salary! It appears free to you but your posts are content and your visits are traffic. Content = Search engine listings Search engine listings = Traffic Traffic = Money! This site is FREE to use for all of you and in return you are giving us your time, contributions and traffic. Someone has to pay the bills and in this "virtual" world website traffic is what pays the bills. Hard to imagine but that is how it works. The more traffic cerb.ca gets the more traffic it's sponsors receive (Advertisers on the site). This is how we pay for the site. If we made the site inaccessible from google and other search engines we would have no traffic, We would have no content, We would have no members, We would have nothing of value and we would have no computers and bandwidth to run the site. Bottom line we would have no business. I don't work for free (Shocking isn't it) I am PAID to run this website. I have other duties that involved things other then this website but at least 1/2 of my salary is to maintain cerb. The servers that run cerb, the bandwidth, the custom programming, license fee's, the chat room, etc... all cost money (You would be SHOCKED to know those costs!). My point here is that for every 10 visitors we get from google at least 1 of them end up visiting escorts-canada.com (The website that pays the bills for cerb) It's all about the math. Search engine math? Basically 5000 visitors per day is worth 100 grand a year. If you were to PURCHASE traffic from other sites (and that is not easy as a lot of sites DO NOT allow "Adult" related sites to buy advertising) it would cost a MINIMUM of .06 cents per visitor. (5000 X $.06) X 365 days a year = $109'500.00 We send a few thousand visitors to EC per day from cerb so our budget is no where near 100 grand but one day it may be!! So keep posting and spreading the word. Out budget here is based on this. (Traffic sent to EC X RATE .03) X 365 days a year = $BUDGET Notice the RATE is .03 and not .06 - If it was .06 it would be simply smarter to just purchase the traffic. If you can build your own traffic that cost 1/2 of what it would cost you to purchase the same traffic... it's a SMART business decision! (And is why cerb exists today).

Thanks WIT. It will be that way in time, I just want the little bugs to be worked out before we introduce that element into the mix. So I removed this to avoid confusion and we can address this in the future and open a section for just making suggestions and feedback to the council. Mentioned above... it will happen in time - just not ready yet as this was only started this month. We need to work out the bugs before we can move forward. The MAIN reason for the council is to choose disciplinary actions on 50+ post count members (Peers) - this is a more FAIR way to do this. When I am forced to make these choices myself people call me a dictator and question my actions. This is the perfect solution as council can ask questions and dig for answers before voting. Would you rather have ONE person do this or a panel of 14 members (half ladies and have gentlemen) do this? This site is Anonymous (That is how these sites work) everyone hides behind a false name / alias. Maybe in the future these alias's of the council members will be more transparent but for now they do not wish to be. None of you know my real identity and yet I am the one who for all these years made all these hard choices. So now instead of ONE person none of you know... you have FIFTEEN (14 council + myself) Basically we had these conversations already with the ELITE and SP ONLY members (The people who have contributed the most to the site at this time) and these members helped by voting how this first council would be formed and operated. In time this can change and with over 120 posts you (Gobofraggle) are well on your way to being part of the elite members group. Keep posting, follow the rules and in no time you will be promoted to elite status and be privy to the area's that are currently locked out.

The Elite and SP ONLY members voted on how the first council would run. The first council was hand picked by me (out of a list of volunteers) with 7 ladies and 7 men from the site. The council started earlier this month and the FORUM (Public one you all see) is where discussions and votes are posted that are to be made public. Bans/suspensions are posting in a area where Elite and SP ONLY members can view the results. General members are not able to view ALL results and not ALL bans/Suspensions.

So we finally found the problem as to why the site was loading so slow. The stats on the main page (Top poster, newest posts, etc...) was the culprit. Apparently some bad php code was done and a friend of mine found it tonight. We were able to fix it and the site seams to be FLYING now!! Cross your fingers and hope it keeps up the speed during peek times (Monday between 3pm and 8pm is a good test!!) Enjoy the new found speed (Man it is fast on this end)

we don't allow classified type ads on cerb. this thread was reported and the member who reported it is correct so I must close this thread and ask that you sell the dogs on another website please.

you should call them to find out rates, rates change and the guys here are not permitted to post the ladies or agencies rates in public.
