  1. I don't really want one in-house. I would end up having to maintain another machine and it would just chew up bandwidth. I am looking for a 3rd party solution that is reliable. I am surprised no one has tried this my1voice.com company locale in Ottawa it does look to be the best choice so far. I am going to try the free trial offer I think and play with it for a few weeks and see how it goes.
  2. Reputation takes time to build.. most people get into this business with no long term goals in mind (Thinking they will do it for a while and get out) and want to make the most money possible as quick as possible... and therefore building a reputation is often not even a thought. Cerb is more for the seasoned ladies and the ladies who really like working in this business. Ladies who feel that reputation is important and want to build a safe long term business (and remain ethical and have integrity). This is where reputation counts. This is something that is often needed to be learned and many of the ladies jump into this business with no goals but find they like the business and choose to stay... so the ladies who try to short cut and spam market may realize that they do not need to do this (With the help of cerb and sites like escorts-canada.com) .... so lets not be too hard on them... Lets show them that a better alternative exists, lead by example... and show them that the effort is well worth it.
  3. Happy Halloween everyone... If your like me and like to prank people here is a great URL to send them to... Lots of fun! Click Here for site! Now sit with them and have them look at these really neat illusions... One of them has a scary face that will show up but you have to look closely! ;)
  4. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It did disappear (Accident) and is back up http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/announcement.php?f=16
  5. omg! so sorry... I should not have said guys as we do have a lot of techie ladies here. my appologies. thank you for the links Kyra.
  6. that is what the acd queue is... it puts them on hold and waits for a available operator.
  7. We have used the bell snr system with a feature called director and it is very limited. ... so far the protus one is at the top of the list.
  8. Thanks, They do not appear to have a calling card feature and the details of what type of auto-attendant features that are available are not well explained but I will shoot them off a email tomorrow and see. Nice to have a few to compare I did not find this one on my own. Hopefully someone has first hand experience with a few and can give me a good recommendation as I would hate to use one that is not dependable.
  9. I am sure one or two of our tech minded guys out here use (or have set up) a VirtualPBX for a business. For those who do not know what a Virtual PBX is it's that annoying thing when you call a business that says "Press one for XXX" "Press 2for xxxx" etc... I found one in the USA that looked great (http://www.virtualpbx.com) lots of great reviews but if your in Canada they slap on a extra 5 cents per minute for toll free calls (Making it much less appealing) plus they slap on a extra 4% sales tax?? (Usually when you purchase something outside of Canada you do not pay sales tax right?) I was thinking of setting up Asterisk/trixbox/etc.. but it's too much work and just another thing for me to maintain... so I want to find one that is third party but reliable (No dropped calls, transfer issues, etc..) So far I found this company in Ottawa (Made me think.. hey! Why don't I ask the cerb guys) http://www.my1voice.com/ (owned by Protus) I found some other ones in Canada but none that had all the features on the wish list. Some needs... -Will transfer calls to other extensions or numbers using standard phone lines (Press * during a call and a prompt comes on asking where to transfer the call) -Music on hold -day/night/hours mode -ACD queue -virtual calling card Hopefully some of you have experience with this and can recommend someone for me.
  10. Etasman is correct, Many people have an allergy to Soy and the normal "crisco" lump of cooking lard is made with Soy but is more like soap then a liquid oil... maybe the liquid oil based one has soy as well.... Crisco also makes other oils... the crisco we all think of is that big while lard block our grandmothers loaded in cookies that left that greasy aftertaste... at least that is what I think of... Crisco makes liquid oils too (Canola, Sunflower, Cotton Seed, and even gave a peanut oil as well) so it would depend on the TYPE of crisco oil being used as other allergens could be the reason. It is not toxic and just as gross as baby oil (Actually it's better then baby oil in my personal opinion as long as you dont have an alergy - food products under go MUCH higher standards then any NON-FOOD product)
  11. Thanks WIT - I was just working on that. I just don't want people to be able to go back a month later and delete post content (Like what happened last week) that really makes a mess of the site.
  12. You should still be able to edit the post up to 24 hours after originally posting it. I suspect you can all not do this??
  13. The original question and comments on this post have been removed. Up until today the elite members could go back and edit previous posts, doing this obviously causes holes in the site (and in my eyes is abusing this ability) so I have removed the ability for elite members to go back and edit posts past the 24 hours window. I hate holes in the site like this!!
  14. basically... if it gets reported I will review it and see what I think. nothing is ever just black and white. sometimes it's a obvious hijack and others it's just a topic gone astray... unintentionally. if that is the case I try to sort out threads and let people know what they did wrong.
  15. That is fine as long as you are following the "Only one advertisement post per 24 hour period" rule. Bumping a previous ad with updated information would be considered a advertisement post for that day. That is a good question so I will add it to the RULE.
  16. NEW RULES ADDED Bumping Threads and Recommendations What is bumping? Please do not BUMP threads. Bumming is when you post a comment on a thread to BUMP it back to the top of the "New Threads" or the first page of that thread index. BUMPING RECOMMENDATIONS I have been ignoring thank you's posted on peoples recommendations where the thank you is placed within 24 hours of the post. Because this is too hard to police and explain to people I must ask that NO thank you's are posted on recommendations (As some people are abusing this and others see people post thank you's that were done within 24 hours and think it is ok to do). If you wish to thank someone for posting a recommendation that you started or that is about you please PM them a thank you (OR) you can post a thank you on the persons guestbook (Profile) but please DO NOT advertise on peoples guestbooks. BUMPING THREADS If you post something and do not get a reply DO NOT bump the thread to get it more attention or re-post it. Use the search feature as you will probably find the info you are looking for already covered. If it has been 6 months and no one replied you can post a NEW thread asking the same info (If no one replies again consider it a dead subject that no one has interest in discussing on the site. BUMPING ADVERTISEMENTS Q: Sometimes I bump my ads so I don't have to start a new thread. Is this okay? A: That is fine as long as you are following the "Only one advertisement post per 24 hour period" rule. Bumping a previous ad with updated information would be considered a advertisement post for that day. That is a good question so I will add it to the RULE. Guys are NOT permitted to ask the ladies to contact them! Guys. You can ask your fellow cerb members for advise such as "Does anyone know any 7 foot tall women in moncton?" but you can not post "Any ladies 7 feet tall in the moncton area please contact me" (This is considered advertising for ladies to contact you - and is not only lazy it is unacceptable). You can not post stuff like .... "I will be in town for tonight only can any lady who is available tonight email or pm me" (NOT ACCEPTABLE) "If anyone offers BBBJ in this city can you PM me to set up an appointment" (NOT ACCEPTABLE) etc.. etc.. Please DO NOT hijack threads! Hijack threads means you post a completely OFF TOPIC post and take control of the conversation that someone else started. Instead open a NEW thread and NEW TOPIC yourself. This includes posting on someone's ADVERTISING thread. If you are a competitor and you place a comment on someone's advertising thread that would be considered HIJACKING a thread.... and if you advertised yourself on someone else's advertising thread I am sure you will not make any friends. Q: I've commented on occasion on creative ads. I've never seen this as hijacking or bumping is it? A: It's more BUMPING then a Hijacking unless you are including an ADVERTISEMENT of your own (This includes your Signature). ** At this time that has not been a problem. Unless I get valid complaints about such things I will continue to allow that. If you were doing this to "Help" your friend out by bumping her ad to the top others will complain. Posting short comments to boost your post count Posting short comments such as "I didn't know that" and "wow, that is great" and "thanks, I like that" on threads when you are in the moderation period will clearly tip me off as to what your intentions are! Yes, this happens a lot and I catch them! I know these people are posting like this in order to get out of the moderation period (Either to look more creditable or maybe to post recommendations or some other slanderous thing - trying to get it to slip by) This does get noticed by me! I will then put these people on to my WATCH list as I suspect as soon as the moderation period is over they will post a SHILL recommendations or something bad on the site (Slanderous) Just want you all to know I watch for this and if you do this I will PULL your recommendation or posts that you make once out of the moderation period and I will remove the account (but also search the IP to see if I can pinpoint who is doing this) WHY NEW RULES?? I think we are all adults and can distinguish between right and wrong and fair and unfair. I only make rules when people abuse the site and when people bring valid complaints to me.
  17. This is a BAD thing to ask for. It would be VERY MUCH illegal for such a thing to take place! This would be what is considered a "Common bawdy House" having multiple ladies working out of the same location. Because of that I can not permit this question to be answered on cerb.
  18. This is all stemming off the issue with loralee that EDMAN felt the need to get involved in earlier today claiming that we accused her of being tracie. That is not the case, she just posted it in public to appear that way. It was brought to my attention that a few members here thought that this could be Tracie gold trying to get back into cerb so I asked her point blank "Are you tracie gold" and told her a few members thought she may be the same person and waited for a reply. Instead of replying in private (as I asked her in private) she got defensive and posted stuff in public foolishly (A lot like Tracie gold would do). EDman decided that we all were accusing her of something and had the need to rehash some crap I had to deal with about him in the past (OHH POOR ME)... Whatever!! You want proof on everything?? That is ridiculous! In that case how about everyone send me a copy of their ID, all personal contact information and phone number and an address where we can collect information about you to search out truths? Also while your at it send me some money to pay for the expenses we would need to hire a P.I. and track down all your proof. (That is JUST insane to make a comment like this!) It's Not going to happen right? That is because we are in a VIRTUAL environment. You all use FAKE names and the truth is very easy to hide and very hard to come by. Instead what we have here is our reputation. Post history and how much credibility you have. Here we do not have the luxury of proof so when someone has a concern they bring it to me and I deal with it with the best of my ability. Rumors and accusations will happen (it's part of the business unfortunately and part of the anonymous virtual environment you are in) get some thicker skin and deal with it as nothing you say or do will make that go away it's a uphill battle and your "Proof" in most cases is NOT possible to find out so please be a little more realistic! Now stop whining and use the site for what it is intended for and stop causing drama...
  19. wow, I asked you in private if the rumor was true or not. this is not a logical reaction! I can see why someone may have mistaken you for her (this is the exact reaction she would have). If you are truly different people you seam to have a lot in common (such as posting a thread like this in public and going off the deep end) .... well, I am sure someone here has seen both trace and you and can confirm the rumor first hand (or not). this post makes me shake my head... and say WTF.... where is my tylonol bottle??
  20. This happens one way or another in ALL business's and this is a business with the FANTASY of it not being as such. It is very acceptable to discretely count the money before you offer services. NO GENTLEMAN would have any issue with this. Even on here sometimes people tell me they are sending a payment for a banner and ask if I can keep it up... and I do... But we have had a few times where it never arrives... I eventually pull the banner after 30 days and I will suspend an account with a balance of 30 days owing on a banner and not reactivate the account till the invoice is paid. We have also suspended cerb accounts for unpaid EC invoices. On EC we still offer everyone a 7 day advance (It use to be 30 days, then 14 days, then 10 days and now the MAX is 7 days as people would just ask for an advance of time and never pay the bill so over time it got stricter and stricter) ... With EC almost always the advertiser comes back (months or even years later but they do come back). On EC we get people too who purposely try to RIP us off. We had one lady who bounced a cheque (Ads go offline as soon as this happens and personal cheques are no longer accepted and a 30.00nsf fee is applied) so she pleads with us to have the ad turned back on and says she will send a tracking number. We agree that if she sends the tracking number we will put her ad back online so she sends us a tracking number for FedEX and we advance the ad 3 more days. The fedEX arrives and it's EMPTY so we call her again.... she says she forgot to put the money order in the envelope and will resend it again by mail as FedEX was too expensive so we pull the ad (Enough of that foolishness)... the payment never came in the mail. This is only ONE example of MANY over the years.... but one of the more elaborate ones. When I ran the nightclubs and the gentleman's clubs years ago we had tabs at one place (That was a nightmare)... it happens one way or another in every business. Basically if you don't require cash upfront and count it upfront... your just setting yourself up to be ripped off. Tell the guy that you will be right back and take the envelope to another room (Like the washroom) and count it in private so it's not so obvious what you are doing. If he is trying to rip you off he is going to be very conscious of you taking the envelope to the other room and probably BOLT as soon as head into the other room. Be sure to have a cell phone in that other room with you for security... anyone who would try to rip someone off like this is probably a violent person by nature. We get payments that are short changed weekly... sometimes 2.00 and sometimes 1/2 the amount or more. Sometimes it is by accident... other times it's obviously not. We use to be very lenient with these payments but it just happens so regularly that
  21. but again this is a escort license (not a license to prostitute) the cities are not allowed to license prostitution at this time so instead they nail you for being a "escort" and define it as someone who socially escorts someone (pretending not to know that a escort is a prostitute). if you put in your ads " I am not an escort I am a prostitute " the city can not fine you under that bylaw .... they may try but you can get it appealed easily. if you do not dispute it and choose not to pay it... the worst they can do is send a collection agent after you (no jail or criminal fines)
  22. actually right now we do have two mods. I am testing out the abilities to have multiple mods working together as part of the new council plan. trying to iron out the bugs and get some solid plan in place... but yes usually it's just me.
