How to post recomendation (New Moderated Member)
mod replied to p_hodson's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
Ok.. I think the big problem here is you "ASSUMED" the that asterisk meant you were moderated (DON'T ASSUME THINGS)... still not sure where you see this but I am guessing on the Currently Active Users list and the Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread are at the bottom of the pages. If I am correct the asterisk you see means you have chosen to make yourself invisible (in your UserCP area) so others can not see your actives. As the moderator I don't see this askterisk as I see everyone (invisible or not) but if your seeing you own name in these area's with an asterisk that would be the reason. You can turn this on and off in the UserCP area and it has nothing to do with being moderated or not. Moderated accounts say "New Member - Moderated Account" and accounts out of the moderation period say "General Member" or they may be promoted to "Elite Member" or "Service Provider" etc... When you ask me a question (or anyone a question for that matter) put yourself in the shoes of the other person for a moment and re-read your question. Say to yourself "If I was answering this question would I have any idea what was being asked". In this case I think you assumed something that was not true and you convinced yourself that it has something to do with being moderated and therefore I would understand what you were asking... Some people have a very hard time explaining questions and many do not bother to re-read what they are asking before hitting the POST or SEND button (You should see some of the scatter brain gibberish people send me trying to ask me a question). I don't want to be rude or ignore people but sometimes I have no choice. Maybe asking something like ... At least I would know where you are seeing this asterisk. -

Thanks I try... my head wants to explode when someone asks me a question like that. I can't read minds and please if someone knows what they are asking help me out in answering the question. -
P.S. That WePad looks pretty interesting!! http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/26/neofonies-wepad-tablet-shown-to-german-journalists-seems-legit/

I was all ready to get one when they came out.... I was actually excited but I am disappointed in them and have yet to buy one as I think I am going to hold out for the HP one or even one of the Android ones (The android ones out now seam to be very unresponsive with the touch interface compared to the ipad) Apple cut out all the "Adult apps" in the appstore and I was going to write a really cool app for the industry using gps, google maps, the compass and accelerometers but the only way to run the app now would be to hack the device and not many people will want to do that. The fact that flash won't run on it also ticks me off. I know flash is not mac friendly (It crashes my big mac system all the time) and apple blames flash for this shortcoming but I am not really sure who is really at fault... it sure works great on my PC! The android OS from google is kicking ass!! It is looking WAY more appealing for my needs.... I love the responsiveness of the ipad but this restricted app store crap and the lack of flash is a BIG turn off for me. I would like to be able to use the chat room here on cerb on a tablet... and since it runs of flash the ipad is OUT! The only way to do it is to use something like http://www.logmein.com and get the logmein app for your iphone or ipad (This allows you to control your home PC with your iphone/ipad using this app. You get 4frames per second at BEST with any flash this way but it does work and logmein is a pretty decent choice for remote office stuff. You could use your home PC with logmein to do your PDF stuff as well but the lag may make you go crazy!

Do you mean recommendations? If so I do not see any under the name "Fine wine Diva" are you sure they were placed in the recommendations area buy the guys or where they just posted in the discussion threads? This is where they need to be in order to be considered a recommendation here that is search-able by your name http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=125 Second, if you did have TWO made they would have been merged together as we only allow one recommendation thread per lady. I suspect someone posted a nice comment about you but did not post it in the recommendation area. You could always contact them and ask them to post the recommendation in this area http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=125 We only remove the recommendations when the ladies retire or are no longer available in a particular city. -
Hi Lou, sounds like you should have added this to the recommendations?

What would make you think posting a complaint like this would make a good contribution to this site? I am leaving it on the site right now as a number of our members have commented to show you how much they disapprove with your comments (I would normally just delete stuff like this as it does not benefit the site in any way) If the hotel has blocked the site from the router it's obvious your not in a very SP friendly hotel but you could always use a proxy and get around the block. -
I was worried about this thread when I first saw it but it has turned out to be very entertaining. I could just cut and paste ads from CL here with all the photos of porn stars and famous actresses. P.S. Antlerman... Don't need help but thanks!!! .... and Angela's reply "Now Collecting Donations to Buy Antlerman Kleenex" That is funny shit!! I laughed out loud at that and I think a little bit of my coffee went up my nose! ... Where is my kleenex?

I have no idea but you should go see a doctor as it sounds serious! (If you have not guessed yet... I have NO IDEA what you are asking!) -
Trojans are extra bad cause they can give someone on the outside access to your computer (They could be watching what you are doing right now if your using it - including all your log in info for here, your email, banking, etc...) so don't use the laptop for any of that!! If you have get to another computer right away and change all your passwords as soon as you can. Next thing.. .chances are avast is trying to lockout the offending files (Quarantine them) but the files could be important system files so this could cause the blue screens. No way around it... your going to need to format the computer and re-install a fresh copy of windows so back up what you can and be sure before putting ANY of those backup disks in the laptop that the first thing you do is install a good antivirus program and make sure it is up to date (even wait a few months before recovering any of the data you backed up if you can - I say that cause the virus scanners don't detect all virus/trojans... they only can detect the stuff they are programmed to detect. The virus's/trojans spread so quickly that often the virus scanners do not pick them up and by the time the antivirus program learns about this it's too late. You said : " fall asleep to a movie or channel stream "... if your downloading stuff from places like limewire or any P2P sites... or installing those "Watch TV on your computer for free" programs ... that is probably where you got the virus!! They are both notorious for passing nasty stuff.
-
Blue screens are very common on laptops (More common than desktops). They heat up easily causing issues and more commonly people forget to turn them off and the battery runs dead shutting down the system without doing a proper shutdown (Causing damaged system files, registry errors and other stuff). Always make sure you power down your laptop if you leave it (unless you leave it plugged in but even then your laptop is not made to be left on for long periods of time - lot of stuff in a small space that all generates a lot of heat). Now... this is something else! Are you SURE you have a virus??? I am asking because if your computer was left on and it was doing a scheduled virus scan and the battery died it could have left some corrupted files in your antivirus program (Causing it not to run properly) did it actually detect a virus/trojan/worm and tell you or are you assuming it is a virus because of the funky things going on? If you are just assuming you have a virus because Avast is not running properly I would guess your assumption may be wrong. Bassnut gave you a great tip (run the one care online scanner http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm) My tip if you are not 100% sure you have a virus is to uninstall avast and download it again and re-install it (Don't switch to another antivirus just yet as having a broken anti virus partially installed and another one installed at the same time will probably cause really bad stuff to happen - antivirus programs do NOT play well with each other and having one that is partially broken can cause all sorts of blue screen errors and stuff - trying to install a second one would most likely make things much worse)
-
140.00 to reinstall windows or to try to remove the virus and repair windows? If it's to format and re-install.. that is a little high probably (especially in a tech town like Ottawa). The good think about taking it to a reputable pro is that a pro will install all the drivers (specific drivers for your laptop - obviously don't assume they will but ask to make sure it will have all the drivers). We could walk you through doing the format and re-install of windows but you may not have all the drivers and could run into some problems as it's not always as smooth as one would hope.... especially with laptops.
-
A lot of virus's will lock out the antivirus programs... installing a antivirus program on top of a infected computer will also often not do anything for you. The best thing is format and re-install as it's next to impossible to be 100% sure you got all the virus out. Most shops will not even try to "clean" them out ... they just format and re-install windows ($75-$150 + and more in some places) for this service .. some high volume places in Toronto charge 35.00 flat "Cleaning Fee" and they really just re-install your OS (Full Format to "Clean" the virus the lazy way) and leave the computer for you to re-install all your software back (Probably doing 10+ machines at once). If you have restore points you can try to go back to a previous restore point but anything you installed since than will need to be re-installed and this does not always get rid of the problem but you can at least run a anti virus usually at that stage. What I like to do... and this is a actual "CLEANING METHOD" and works 99% of the time is I have a old machine here that I will piggyback a infected drive as a secondary drive (Not a bootable drive) and I will load up windows and run the antivirus full scan hierarchy on the secondary drive. This will usually isolate the files (Many will usually be system files that have been "altered" by the virus so if you remove or quarantine them the computer will not boot off that drive so the next step to do a REAL CLEAN is to put a copy of windows back in the CD and do a repair (Finds any missing system files and replaces them)... this will fix MOST of the virus's and still keep all your data intact. ... but if you have a shop do this prepare to pay a fair amount for the work as it takes a more skilled tech and much more time. I charge 120.00 for this and let the client know it's success is only 99% and if it fails a full format and re-install will be needed (or give them an option of keeping the current drive as a secondary drive). Now for laptops I charge more for this as you need a laptop adapter for the desktop to put the laptop drive in as a secondary drive so I charge a premium for this of 150.00.

what if all you need is a little company?
mod replied to frank777's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Hi Frank. With most of the ladies you pay for the time (not the service and the "adult fun" is really just part of the deal if you want it) but depending on your city for instance this request may sound suspicious if you specifically ask for no-sex. For instance in cities like Winnipeg and Calgary they have "Escort" licenses (This is not a prostitution license in any way - just a license to be a person who offers a paid date service) anyone in these cities marketing themselves as a "Escort" must pay for these licenses but technically a actual "Prostitute" is legal and they can not license for prostitution. Technically if they call themselves a "Call girl" or anything like that (Even prostitute) and do not agree to go on NON-Sexual dates the cities can not really charge them under the municipal license (and if they do the ladies can beat the charges easily - the by-law enforcers could try to trick the lady into doing a non-sexual date and that would be considered a breach in the by-law if they did not have a escorting license so the ladies may see this as a sting operation to charge them under this by-law). So... if you ask for a non-sex date you may put up the RED FLAGS and if you get to the call and say you don't want sex you may put up the FLAGS as well. I find it odd that you would want to pay for a escort to just sit and talk but I have heard of guys who do this... in fact when I use to manage adult clubs we did have 2 or 3 customers over the years that would pay for the ladies time just to sit and chat with them as they were lonely and just enjoyed the idle chat with the ladies... nothing really wrong with that but some of the ladies found this harder than actually dancing for the same money. One thing I should mention is if you do find a lady who is willing to have a NON-SEXUAL date with you... be prepared to pay the same rates (Do not expect or ask for a discounted rate) the base rates the ladies charge is for TIME not for services. It would be rude to ask for a lower rate (In fact, it sounds like you need a little above and beyond attention so maybe you should bring enough for a good tip as well and don't expect that just any of the ladies would accommodate this request - it may take some looking around) -

mod replied to p_hodson's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
Yes, it's a new thing. We have had a LARGE increase in new members trying to SHILL post recommendations (Mostly asian ads that are known bait and switchers) so I just made a minimum to post a rec... that stops the lame shill accounts and also gives some credibility to those who make it to 5+ posts and 5+ days. I may make a page that explains the moderation period more clearly and set it so that all new members are asked to read the page. I just don't have time right now to set that all up -
How to post recomendation (New Moderated Member)
mod replied to p_hodson's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
Hi Phil, New members can not post recommendations right away. New members must get past the moderation period first (5 posts and 5 days) meaning you must post at least 5 posts and you must be a member for at least 6 days before your account will move to a non-moderated account. WHY? This stops people from creating SHILL accounts (Accounts that are FAKE members trying to post fake recommendations to falsely promote someone). We can usually spot the SHILL posts a mile away and close the accounts and with this 5 day 5 post rule... it makes creating fake accounts a lot less appealing for those who try to do this. The moderation period also stops people from posting Negative/slanderous comments, posting in the wrong area and generally breaking the site rules. To get past the moderation period simply join some conversations, ask some questions (or answer some) and the 5 days and 5 posts will be done in no time... this will give people some post history so that when they read your recommendation is has a little more history to show your not SHILL posting. -

Try using a condom! I suspect your not. Some peoples chemistry is off, years ago I had a roomate who complained about this exact thing. Everything was fine until after... turns out when some peoples fluids mix together it can get rather rancid (Sometimes not even wash off easily). Solution... keep the fluids from "Mixing" and all is good. Yeast infections are very common too. Some women get them all the time just from having sex. -
Carrie (and W.I.T) are absolutely right. Things are changing (For the better) Thanks to the internet (sites like this one especially) the media can no longer simply group all sex-workers together and portray them in this manner!! The church groups and even some of the rights groups still have loud voices and they can mind wash people to join them in some crusade against sex workers (The groups and even the churches all have other motives for this and they know that this topic is a easy way to get naive people thinking and feeling like they are doing some good and are fighting a good Nobel cause). ....but thankfully as we evolve the general population is seeing how wrong this propaganda is. Sites like this show a very different side and it opens a lot of peoples eyes! Pretty much every business has bad elements if you loose closely enough. This business in particular has bad regulations and laws governing it so it is left in a state that is easily exploited where the law and safe working conditions are often ignored due to the nature of the business. When you group all "Sex Workers" together (street walkers, massage spa attendants, escorts, exotic dancers, etc...) it makes the ladies here look very bad in the eyes of the public - mainly because the bad rap the other parts of this industry get. Most of the ladies here are independent (Meaning they do not work for anyone else) some are booked by Agencies. A agency is not a pimp! A pimp is a pimp! A booking agent works for the ladies and does all the stuff the ladies do not want to do (some pimps however like to try to pull one over on the guys and pretend to be a "Agency" and this looks bad on all of them) Most of the time when a escort books using a reputable agency the lady is not being pimped .. rather the agency is doing the work for the lady that she does not want to do herself (Book keeping, answering calls, scheduling appointments, placing advertisements, booking drivers, answering emails, etc.. etc...) the agent is supplying a service and she is free to come and go as she wishes. Same as a talent booking agent (Bands use them, actors/actresses, models, etc...). Bad agencies do exist! We all hate them! Really they are just pimps trying to "pose" as an agency and they really are not welcome in the business! These agencies come and go, change names all the time and are not reputable. Street level pimping is VERY BAD and because streetwalkers and escorts are both sex workers some people just group them all together as the same (They are not the same). On the flip side of this we do not want to stereotype all streetwalkers as that also would be wrong as not all streetwalkers are drug addicts or being pimped either! It is however very common at the street level unfortunately so you should avoid the streetwalkers as chances are you will end up picking up someone who is in fact being taken advantage of or working to support a drug habit. Also picking up a streetwalker is illegal as it's public solicitation so this should be avoided. FYI: Outcall prostitution (Escorting) in Canada without any public solicitation is very much legal across the country. Very few people actually know this however. Adult Massage spa's (Rub and tugs) are also grouped in with this "Sex workers" and many run like an agency (Owner and employee's or the ladies rent the rooms or work off "Tips") some however have been sex slave operations (Many Asian and European sex slave operations have been busted - as they should) but this does not mean all of them are run this way! Most of these places are run properly but you don't hear much about them as they stay low key ... but you do hear about the ones that get busted for illegal immigrants, underage, etc... and people form opinions based on what the media reports on (Far from the normal - these are just the ones that are being exploited). You should know that any public location such as a massage spa or stripclub that offers "sex" or "sexual services" is considered a common bawdy house (Brothel) and is very much illegal in Canada! So these places should also be avoided. These days the media and advocate groups can not point fingers and stereotype as easily as they once could. Back before the internet it was easy for them to say all prostitutes are drug users or all prostitutes are helpless victims. These days sites like cerb are working hard to show the world that most escorts are doing this job because they want to (No one is forcing them to do it, no drug addiction is forcing them to do it.... no pimp is behind them... etc...) The internet gives the general public a way to verify those claims and ridiculous stereotypes and we can finally hold the people accountable who are making these outlandish claims! Think of this... if the ladies were working to support a drug habit would they be using a computer? I don't think so! Would they be contributing to discussions? Nope... they would not even own a computer! A drug addict or pimped lady is not going to have any desire to go on a website like this and join in or even post ads... it's just not something that I could envision happening! (Buy a computer or some dope? Buy internet access or dope? Pay a internet cafe or buy dope?... etc... etc... etc.. and I don't see many street thug pimps tech'ing it up on the internet either). If they were being pimped and exploited would the pimp let them have access to a discussion site? NOPE... He may try to pose as her but that doesn't take too long before it's exposed as some crooked agency tried that a few years back and the members exposed him! WE ALL HATE PIMPS HERE! ... It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that all the propaganda, crazy stereotypes and rumors this industry is plagued with are just not true! The problem is so many people in this world will beleive ANYTHING someone else tells them - people just don't form their own opinions often enough (I saw it on TV, Read it in a newspaper, the minister at my church said... etc... ) ... get all the facts, don't be a pawn or gullible fool! At least MNO4 took the time to do some research and form his own opinion! Good job!

Lili Love - Lower rates = same service?
mod replied to castle's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
Ladies change rates all the time - it's a supply and demand service after all. Please DO NOT post the ladies rates here on cerb. If they wish to post them they are welcome to but guys should not be posting (or commenting) on someones rates in public like this. -
I always ask this... did you get his phone number and verify it when you made the appointment? After polling a lot of the ladies who have this same issue 99% of the time the answer I get is "NO, I did not verify his phone number" ... Just so everyone knows... the ladies who do verify the guys phone number (Call back at the time the appointment is made) get a LOT LESS no-shows. If someone NO-SHOWS on you and you have a confirmed number you have a very solid thing to post in the PRIVATE ladies warning area. Guys who pull no-shows are not going to go out and get a new phone number for each lady they no-show and they will get the point when other ladies start declining dates with them. Complaining about it is not going to help the matter as we all know how much of a problem it is (especially in Ottawa for some reason) ... reporting them will help however.
