OMG... What a HUGE waste of tax payers money! LOL... a 500.00 fine!! LOL "six-year effort" (What do you think that costs?) and "10-page ruling" (Does anyone else think this is insane). Apparently the website address published here was meant as a private address for existing customers only. A public website is apparently being created. They do not post the address on the ads so it does appear to be a valid request.

Just another reason to hate CL I guess... I thought it was to avoid the FLAGs and such as the bait and switchers all seam to do it. A lot has to do with supply and demand as well. If no one is paying the price she is asking... the prices will go down and if she is getting overwhelmed with calls the prices will go up (just like any business). Unless of course she wants the high volume of calls. The type of guy she wants to attract as well... no one wants the guy who takes back his empty bottles and raids the couch for loose change to get laid. EWE! The ladies want generous gentlemen (Men with deep pockets are very hot to many ladies... us guys often stare at the ladies breasts where many ladies just want to know what kind of plastic you have in your wallet). - I am probably going to get a slap from that comment (and I know very well not all ladies are like that so please don't hang me for that comment - but we all know many women are attracted to money and not physical attributes) The local economy also makes a huge difference. If you live in a area where very few people are wealthy the rates are not going to be as high if the ladies want to work in your area... usually what happens is the ladies leave that area and go to bigger cities. In cities like Montreal where they have a LOT more ladies in the business the prices drop as well (They often have price wars as the area may have too much competition) so you have ladies who could easily charge 300+ per hour in other cities working for 100-/hr at times when competition gets tough. Not many ladies can work on high volumes of calls in this business for long periods of time and be happy.... and lower rates often means higher volume or too high level of competition as I mentioned above. In a market like Ottawa someone charging 100.00 may do 6 calls a day (or more) and probably have to turn down calls as the phone will be ringing non-stop so they can easily reach that goal but that is a lot of work so the lady would be soar, tired and just burnt out after a few days of that .... someone charging 300.00 per hour and only doing 2 or 3 calls a day makes the same (if not more) money. Those ladies have less calls to deal with and are generally a lot less stress. This would improve the quality of the experience a great deal as well in most cases. Many guys think the ladies should charge less... but that only benefits the guys!! Some guys will complain about the ladies rates being too high but if she is doing lots of calls at those rates and meeting her goals she DOES NOT need a guy like that. Lowering her rates and doing more volume may look like a smart way to do business but in this business it just leads to bad service, tired providers and a very unhappy lady who is burnt out... then those same guys will post nasty crap about her saying her service was poor. We always say if the rate is too high for you either save up or find someone else (don't be ignorant and complain about it be a gentleman and move on to someone in your price range). The lady charging 300.00/hr will say "I need to do two calls a day on average to meet my goals" and if she does not get enough calls to keep her busy enough to maintain this income level the donation amount will go down and the number of calls she takes per day will go up until she reaches her goal or she sets new goals. I can't afford a Ferrari so I don't drive one, I dream about driving one but I don't get mad and complain to Ferrari and tell them they need to lower the prices of the car so that the average person can buy one too. Maybe one day I will save up and buy one.... but right now I drive a Ford as my daily driver. It's nice, it's reliable, it's comfy and I like it... it's not a Ferrari but I am not complaining.

Question... Why do some of the ladies type the phone numbers like 4}1{6#5)5:5^3?4{7}5 instead of just (416) 555-3475 This seams to be a new thing and the ones who were doing it the most were the bait and switch agencies (I suspect they do this on CL so it's harder to google the number and find information) but why would a legit advertiser do this? Should we just assume anyone who does this is trying to avoid google searches when someone tries to look up a phone number? Or is there another reason for this? Maybe some think it's trendy like the 416.555.3475 was a few years ago (with the periods instead of the brackets and dash) but if you ask me this is just crazy to display your phone number in this way! Would be interested to hear some thoughts on this and maybe some explanations as to why this would be done.

Absolutely!! If you did not contact her first and she is sending you PM's trying to get you to book her (That is spamming - unsolicited mail selling a product or service) . If you have seen her before and she lets you know she is coming back most guys would have no problem with that and would not consider it unsolicited. Remember, I can't read PM's unless you flag them... if guys are flagging a girls PM's and saying "I don't know this girl and she is sending me pm's asking me to book with her" that is SPAM and she would be suspended. It's an ethical thing! Anyone using the PM system in this way knows they are doing something wrong (New or not). The problem with posting this is that most ladies who would do something like this will not bother reading newbie guides or rules before they do it... they just learn the hard way.

If the person was suspended for SPAMMING using the PM system I click the "Delete all PM's sent from this user" button when I suspend them. This deletes all the SPAM they sent. I think I know who you are referring to as a lady was removed today for spamming unsolicited ads by PM.

Most no-shows can be avoided if the lady insists on obtaining a phone number and calls back to confirm. In almost all NO-SHOWS the lady fails to obtain and call back the verification phone number. When the lady does get a verification number and gets a no-show many will POST the phone number in the SP ONLY area to warn the other ladies (and keeps a personal record of this so that if he tries it again with the same phone number he won't get her again). Thankfully most of the lurkers are not like this... I think your grouping them into on big bad stereotype here. The ladies know how to limit the number of no-shows they get and if a Lurker account gets reported as being a no-show by a few of the ladies... I just BAN the IP from the server and the guys account is closed. You got guys with 50+ posts doing no-shows as well at times (Usually they have a valid reason but not always)... don't let a few bad ones spoil it. For the most part the lurkers book lots of legit appointments with the ladies and they know they will get a few no-shows and assholes... it's part of the business unfortunately. Good screening of callers can really limit this problem for the ladies and it most certainly was no fault of yours T'strom... The so called 'Lurkers' are very important for a number of reasons. 1) By reading your posts they educate themselves on such things as Etiquette and how to treat the ladies laws breaking media and general public stereotypes of escorts (drugs, gangs, pimps, forced prostitution, std's, etc..) and much more... 2) Many 'lurkers' eventually become posters (You see accounts that look and read for months or years and eventually post) ... as yourself why? Your posts and contributions encouraged them to join Maybe they are shy They have not taken the leap yet but have been contemplating it. If your rude or not helpful you may convince them not to join in. They educated themselves and answered all the scary unknowns they may have before they book with the ladies for the first time. etc... 3) Many of the 'lurkers' read the ladies ads and book with the ladies (Many are first timers). This helps the site and our industry in a HUGE way! The ladies get lots of business from these guys... This brings MORE ladies to the site! Many are "First timers" who have questions about dating a SP. Without sites like this first timers may never book with a SP so your posts actually greatly help the industry. Many guys take months or even years to work up the courage to see a SP. 4) Traffic!! From a business end of things... This site is FREE for you all to use. Trust me, it is NOT free for us to run and the only thing that keeps this site going is the traffic it generates. We do not make much on banner ad sales and we do not charge the ladies to post ads here... instead the traffic from cerb funnels into escorts-canada (and other sites our company owns) and the traffic is high enough that it justifies the HUGE expense to run this site. It also greatly benefits the ladies as I mentioned above. Basically... Your posts = Content Content = Search engine traffic and listings and making the site more popular Search engine listings = new members finding us here New members = both lurkers & new contributing members (Aka "More Traffic") Traffic = $$$ (Both for the ladies and to our network of sites) $$$ brings more ladies and every click that translates into traffic from cerb to escorts-canada and other sites our company owns increases our operating budget by a few cents. New people join into this business EVERY DAY (Both ladies and customers of the ladies). This industry has a very big turnover and we need to encourage new members to contribute... but we need to make them feel welcome as well. I agree the members who contribute and the ladies who are members here are the MOST important members on the site but please don't undersell the value the lurkers bring to the site. I would encourage everyone to make the lurkers feel welcome and politely encourage them to join the conversations (when they are ready). Politely ask why they don't post - you may be surprised at the answers. If you are rude, ignore them, discourage them from being members, or anything like that you are being counterproductive and actually hurting the site and the community.... you could be your own worst enemy as you could be discouraging a potential contributor of the site from participating here or making someone feel unwelcome and they just don't return (hurting potential business for the ladies as well). You need to log out when done and delete history (or even better use the "Private Browser" feature in firefox or google chrome browser has a "incognito" browser window feature - this ensure no trace is left on your computer of your activities). Use your PDA even and remember to erase the recently visited sites. Cerb.ca is a easy domain name to remember! You can contribute and stay anonymous.

One of our members (OutForFun) brought this iphone app called tapatalk to my attention yesterday and asked me if I had ever heard of it. I had not so I looked into it and decided to give it a try. Now the app itself has a FREE version but you can only READ posts with it... to reply to posts you need the paid version of the app (It's 2.99 in the app store but if you like the free version it may be worth it to you as we all know the mobile version of cerb could be improved and this may just be the right direction). When you log into the site right now using a iphone you will get a notice pop up about tapatalk. You can click Cancel and go on the way you normally do or click OK and learn about this application. I would encourage you to download the FREE version and at least give it a try and let us know what you think. So far we know that it does not work with the photo albums or the chat room (Nothing on the iphone allows flash so the chat room will not work with any iphone apps - not even the gordon app that translates flash) ...but everything else seams to work fine. I don't have a iPhone myself to test it out on but OutForFun sent me a whack of screen shots and lots of info! (Big thanks to OutForFun for testing both the free and paid versions of the app). The app works on MANY discussion sites (all running the software we use here). Apparently it works on android phones and soon Blackberry and Nokia will be available as well. What I need to know is .... 1) Is this something our members are interested in? 2) Does it make the mobile experience better for you? 3) Should we keep it or drop it? Anyone who tries it please let us know what you think (Especially if you like it as I need to know if we should keep it as an option or not)

Jailbreaking is only necessary if you want to do things with the iphone that apple does not let you do. For example -if you want to install a 3rd party app that is NOT in the Itunes store such as an adult application or maybe a app like cycorder that turns the camera into a video recorder -Unlocking it from a locked cell phone provider (sprint,rogers,bell,etc..) -Change the skin (The look and feel of the main iphone menus - customize it more) -run unix application (For the hard core geeks) -etc... The average person should never need to jailbreak the phone and the most common reason is to switch providers without having to buy a new phone.
