It's free if you follow the rules but CERB is heavily moderated and we actively remove all the scams, bait and switch, etc... CL does not do this, they have a FLAG system that is seriously flawed as the scammers use it more then the regular visitors to target and remove each other and the legit ladies. I wouldn't suggest that ANYONE advertise on CL and I don't want CL promoted as a good place here on cerb. It is not.
-
Do you run an ad with EC Grass Hopper? If not why? Everyone should really just leave CL to the scammers and be done with it really. Free sites like CL that are un- moderated are just a heaven for the pimps/scammers/bait and switch/etc... why would you even want to be part of it? Because it's free to post? Not a good reason.
-
Does it work on all carrier phones? Bell phones still do not use sim cards right?
-
Are you sure your the Taylor they are referring to? Do you have pagan tattoos?
-
You won't be finding any negative reviews on cerb, if you do flag them as they will be deleted and the person writing them will be in trouble as this is not the site for them. So can we move on now? This could go back and forth and even get nasty and we want to avoid that (keep it happy here). Focus on the GOOD and appreciate the GOOD. If someone have a wonderful time with a lady and wishes to let everyone know about it this is the place to do it. It's a lot harder to say ONE nice thing about someone than to say TEN bad things about TEN different people. - MOD 2009

Groups refused standing at prostitution law July 3/09
mod replied to Susie's topic in Legal discussion, cases & questions
The main focus of this groups application is to "Decriminalize" prostitution from what I understand. They do not seam to want it "Legalized" they want it decriminalized completely (This is where I have the issue but I do want to see it as safe as possible for the ladies so I am torn as I appreciate someone fighting for the rights of the workers but I am afraid that it may not be the best way to do this) What N.Z. has is "Regulated by laws" ("Legalized prostitution") and I beleive the current group petitioning the laws would like it to be "self regulated" and "decriminalized" and I do agree what New Zealand has would be great here. NZ's regulations would be a good blueprint for new regulations and laws here. It just takes a lot more work to make laws like this so do we have a lazy government or one that will take the time to do it right? (Roll the dice). -

I don't really know how better I can explain this. In Canada if they leave it up to the cities to regulate under the by-law act the people who work without a "license" would ONLY get a ticket for breaking a by-law (No criminal charge and no possible jail time - just a slap on the hand) and if they did not pay the fine they do not go to jail or get a criminal record they get a collection agency after them (by-laws in Canada do not have the ability to do either) in other words the pimps would have nothing to fear but the bill collectors (and that is if they can find out where the pimp lives - highly doubtful). They have NOTHING to be afraid of in Canada if the law is decriminalized. Right now the living off the avails is pretty much the only thing the police have to charge pimps and bad agency owners with. They can get them on assault if the ladies will agree to testify or they witness it first hand but that is it. If they "Legalize" it and include "jail" sentences for working without a licenses in the "some new federal regulations" (so they are not leaving it up to the municipalities to decide and can include actual criminal charges and jail terms) then it can be controlled - but no one is going to be scared of a by-law fine so decriminalization will now work in Canada - new structure is needed to FIX the broken laws to help protect the workers. The current court case is trying to get it completely decriminalize the common bawdy house law (I am ok with that) but they are also trying to decriminalize the "living off the avails" law and I think this law just needs to be restructured to still make it illegal to pimp someone. If they remove the living off the avails law without restructuring it this would make a FREE FOR ALL (Why I said the pimps would be on parade as nothing would be in place for them to be arrested for pimping any longer - you don't want that do you?). I know you feel strongly about this but you need to know how our justice system works. It is very different than other countries and what works in one country does not necessarily work in another. I would be interested to know what new zealand does if someone is caught working without a license? I think they are heavily regulated with criminal law (Jail terms and criminal code charges for breaking the regulatory laws) Do you know if this is the case? Do they get a criminal charge? Jail time? Mandatory fines? If so it is "Legalized" with regulations in the law of how exactly it can be done safely and legally and who knows maybe our politicians will use that as a reference to re-write the laws (sounds like they should do that) but the courts can't do this for them... it would be up to our house of commons here in Canada. -

A city by-law infraction (That is what we are talking about here with the pan Handling laws in Vancouver) it is the same as a municipal parking ticket. It does not have any jail time or criminal record implications here in Canada if you get charged under the by-law. The most they can do is fine you and eventually send the collection agencies after you. You can't be arrested for breaking a by-law (Police may threaten to arrest you as a scare tactic but they can not arrest you for a bylaw infraction) The municipal framework for bylaw enforcement is constructed anticipating that people will be compliant and that they have addresses and assets that are vulnerable to civil recovery processes. Municipalities lack the authority to create arrest provisions for repetition and continuation of offenses because they do not have the legislative authority as does the province to use criminal code summary conviction procedures by reference through the Offense Act. We have silly laws like public mischief and disturbing the peace that you can be arrested for if you were to try to argue with the police officer but by-laws (especially if you are not working out of a actual location) are really just a slap in the hand and a parking ticket. If the city has "Licensed" prostitution they can take your license away but if you don't have one all they can do if fine you. How many streetworkers do you know who would be concerned about a collection agency knocking on the door? Maybe a few would but those same people know they can make 1000 times more money then the fines will ever be! I am not sure how the laws are in NewZeland with municipal laws but over hear in CANADA the by-laws are really a joke and when you remove the possibility of a criminal record or even a jail sentence for public solicitation and just let the cities deal with it than your just asking for problems. If you remove the living off the avails law the street pimps will have a parade I think! The Vancouver pan-handling by-law is a good example. I am glad you brought that up! ... what do they do when they catch a homeless guy pan-handling? Ever wonder? Do they write him a ticket? They can... but what if he refuses to pay it? The answer is... Nothing. If he doesn't pay it where do they send the notice and collection agencies? This if a funny read that proves my points... _______________________________________________________ Panhandling by-laws FAQ Q: What if a person issued a ticket doesn?t pay it? A person who is issued a violation ticket has 30 days to pay it, or take steps to dispute the ticket. If the person does not pay or dispute the ticket, they are deemed guilty and the fine amount becomes payable to the Crown. The person would then be subject to collection activity. Q: Does collection activity mean if someone doesn?t pay a ticket for aggressive panhandling they?d lose their license? No, If this type of fine went unpaid for an extended period of time it would be passed on to a collections agency to recover. We would not take any action. Q: Can a person go to jail for not paying their ticket? This ticket is not unlike a parking or speeding ticket. A person cannot go to jail in Canada for refusing to pay a ticket. P.S. Here is the link to the site with all the info on this panhandling by-law http://www.safestreetscoalition.com/ -

Laws are made and changed by passing bills in our house of commons. When Parliament draws up a bill it gets voted on and either passes or doesn't (This all takes a lot of time - but they can make a new law or change laws as long as the bills pass by a majority vote). It could be legal one day and illegal the next day and you can't really do anything about that but take it to court if you don't agree with it and let a judge decide if the government was out of line or not. If the government makes a law that you do not agree with as you feel it takes rights and freedoms away from you unfairly you can take it to court. If the judge agrees with you he/she can make a motion to remove the law. (obviously this would be appealed from these lower courts and eventually wind up in front of the supreme court of canada) all taking a lot more time... time time time time... and more time... nothing gets done quick in regards to any of this. This is our concern, it's really rolling the dice. If they decriminalize it or legalize it the local municipalities will write by-laws (this will bring new license fee's zoning, etc...etc..) right now they can not do this. By-laws pertaining to "escorts" do not mention prostitution (as it is illegal for municipalities to charge a license fee for prostitution). The escort by-laws some cities have are bogus and used to harass the ladies or just make a easy buck from them. The cities gamble that the escorts are not organized enough (and educated enough) to actually take them to court... so far they are right as no one is challenging the laws in places like winnipeg and calgary. Just think about that for a moment too.. what will making it legal do? I see MUCH Higher hourly rates, more competition as a lot more people will get involved in the business, really it could just expand so rapidly that it would collapse on itself. The ladies will have by-law licenses to pay for, they will all have to pay tax (they should not anyway but you will need to pay tax to them), they will need to pay for rent in properly zoned area's (you can bet that will be much more expensive), they will probably need to us specific words in advertising (making it much harder for you to all know what she is offering). etc... etc.. etc.. I would like to see the ladies more safe (I am sure we all agree to that) but I am just hopping it is all done in a way that does not cause a giant mess. If they decriminalize it or completely legalize it the city by-laws can be brutal as the cities would not expect anyone to take them to court for making unfair by-laws... right not the "living off the avails" law and the "common bawdy house" laws makes it so the cities can not structure by-laws around this industry (it actually protects the ladies a great deal from the cities). Not many people realize that if the laws change they are not going to like what happens. I think if they decriminalize it or legalize it the cities will win (They could now make by-laws as it would be legal for them to get involved), the government will win (They will collect taxes as I am sure everyone would need to be legal business owners - legally the ladies can do this now and pay taxes but legalizing it or decriminalizing it will make the government look at making money from it MUCH closer), the brothel owners lucky enough to get licenses and zoning will win but it will be so restrictive that the ladies will not win. They may be safer (those lucky enough to work in a legal environment) but the city councils will probably interfere so much that the by-laws will make it even more restrictive and push even more people underground so if the cities are permitted to structure by-laws it will be a mess. What they really need is a complete solution that rules out local zoning and license by-laws and makes it the same for everyone in any city. Set limits to what the cities can do for by-laws or they are going to have a bigger mess than they already have. -

The application is not to legalize it but to decriminalize it. The crown agreed that it is not a safe business. They argued that to remove the law (decriminalize it) would not make it any safer. The crown claimed that it was not safe in brothels either (how would they know this) very week argument and anyone with common sense would know that it would be safer if you had security and other staff members in the building as opposed to walking into a strangers house or hotel room by yourself with no security or getting into a strangers car on the streets. The applicants do not want to see it "legalized" as that would mean reform to the law and potentially it could make it more restrictive. They want it removed completely. The crown is seeking 18 months time - to give parliament the time needed to draw up a reform bill and to re-write the laws if the choice to decriminalize it was chosen. If the judge does not give them 18 months technically it would fall to the municipalities to structure the industry using local by-laws for zoning, license fee's if any and other rules the cities wish to address (if someone was to open up a place before the city passed the by-law they would fall under a grandfather clause as far as I know so time may be given to allow the cities to create new by-laws as well). How do you think the government would address this if they were given the task to re-write the laws to make them safe and to make them fair. Would they take the time to legalize it and do all the homework or would they simply make it completely illegal like much of the USA? -

Photo was removed as it was too large to display in cerb without breaking up the site layout.

Yes, a number of these organizations exist across the country and with the help of the internet (and some positive media for a change) they are growing in popularity.

This site does have a private SP ONLY area for BAD DATES (Violent, drunk, scary situations, etc..) but we do not allow unjust slander just because you don't like someone. PM me if you wish to gain access to the SP ONLY area (any SP can PM me for this info if they wish). As you should! Bait and switch is a BIG problem in this industry. It damages the integrity of all the legit advertisers. If someone shows you a fake photo or tells you they are a 100lbs and are actually 200+ (or visaversa) than you have been bait and switched. You can post about this such thing here within reason. If for example you asked "are you overweight" and they said no and showed up and had a little belly... your being a jerk if you say you got bait and switched. If you ask "do you kiss" and you showed up with nasty breath or rotten teeth and she said "No, I don't wish to kiss" then again.. this is not her fault so make sure you realize this and don't get mad at her. Here on cerb if you get bait and switched with photos and you can first hand confirm they are fake (or) if you can use something like tineye or cowboys diary to prove they are fake you can post it here in the bait and switch. If you post and it turns out the photos are in fact real you will be the one in hot water as we would consider that an attempt to slander a legit sp and you would loose your membership here. Hope that clears it up a little more...
-
That is a little harsh to say. Verify with cowboy for sure if your in Ottawa, (your all lucky to have him!) but don't get soured from a few bad apples. It's rare that we have to remove photos here on cerb that are fake (same with escorts-canada) so just use the right sources. LOL... No plans for any Ottawa office, sorry.
-
Ouch. that is not true. You have this all wrong... This site was actually made for the ladies and the community as a whole - not for just the guys! This site is all about community, sp friendly environment, a place where the ladies can contribute and not worry about some jerk slandering them or a mob of posters jumping all over her and making her feel unappreciated. A free place for them to promote themselves and a place for everyone to enjoy. I would agree that the review boards are for the guys. The other "escort discussion forums" that allow slander and hate posts are made solely for the guys as well. Many of these other sites force the ladies to pay for ads in order to advertise on the site! Even though this site is supported by escorts-canada we do not force the ladies to advertise with us in order to use cerb... we even installed a very expensive live chat room (With audio and video) so the ladies could promote themselves on here in real time! I am shocked to see someone say that this site was built for the guys! The guys coming to the site is for YOUR benefit and the traffic that leaves this site and visits escorts-canada is for the benefit of the advertisers on escorts-canada (and in turn a benefit to us). More importantly we are doing something positive for the community here!! Something positive for the industry as a whole. When we developed the site I actually wrote most of the business plan (as it was mostly my brain child) but it was a group effort by all our staff to create this site. (This is from the original business plan of the site) ............................... Goals 1) Our main goal is to develop a new type of escort discussion site unlike anything currently running. This is to prove that a positive discussion site without slander, hate or fighting can become successful and build a positive community for the escort industry in Canada. Our goal would be to make the discussion site a safe and friendly place where the ladies would not feel threatened, become slandered, harassed or be afraid to contribute in the discussions with the men and other ladies. The feedback we receive from many of the ladies indicates that they are often afraid to post on public discussion boards in fear that the competition, a bad volunteer moderator or a bad date would slander them and damage the ladies reputation. Our goal would be to build a discussion site where the ladies would not feel threatened to respond and contribute. A environment where a positive community can be established the benefits everyone involved (the ladies, the men and us by bringing new advertisers and new traffic to our escort directories). Over time we feel the guys will appreciate this environment more as well but we expect a great deal of resistance from the male community at first and will be a uphill battle to win over the men with this new format of discussion site. 2) A place where the ladies could promote themselves for free (this would bring some of the unreachable ladies to the site that would not normally advertise with escorts-canada - The legitimate ladies who do not wish to purchase paid ad space or are just starting out and can not afford to pay for advertising. This would give them an alternative to supporting new escort directories who offer free trial ads and would draw traffic to our network instead of supporting these "new" sites. From our research we find that some of the ladies would rather post daily ads for the days they are available to work as opposed to monthly subscriptions. This reason may still be an excuse to save money by avoiding purchasing ads but we are missing out on those ads for our visitors. By offering a free place for these ladies to post daily ads we will regain some of that lost traffic. Posting daily ads requires a lot of "extra leg work" for the lady (or agency) but some do prefer this and it would give those advertisers a alternative to using sites like ******** and *******) 3) Create a community based site where the men and the ladies could openly discuss the industry in a positive way, in public view to show the world that the stereotypes of this industry are wrong. This would be a open public forum to show the people outside of this industry as well that the media is only portraying the negative elements of this industry. 4) Launch a bad date section for the ladies that would be readily available to all escorts-canada and localescorts advertisers as well as advertisers who routinely use new discussion site. This would be a PRIVATE area where the ladies could warn one another and help each other out. 5) We would moderate the site in-house to remove unwanted advertisers (spam, bait and switch, trickery posts, dangerous encounters, etc.). We would use paid staff members to moderate the site on a joint moderation account (as opposed to having a volunteer based moderation). Development Costs Instead of spending money on advertising with other discussion boards that reinforce the negative stereotypes of the industry we could use the advertising revenue to launch this new discussion site where we can ensure the ladies, industry and our own reputation are upheld. This way would not be seen as a company that "supports" these slanderous sites when trying to acquire escort traffic for our network of escort directories. ............................... Now as for being made by all guys... I admit most of us on the development side are guys but not all... Many of you who advertise with escorts-canada or localescorts have spoken with Carolyn at our head office. She has been a HUGE contributor to the development of cerb and helps with the moderation (less these days but in the beginning she was a huge part of cerb and she still does help out a lot). Back in the first year a lady named Heather was also a huge part of the site development as well but she is no longer with our company (but still a very good friend to us all here) Plus a number of the industry ladies who we have long working relationships with advise us on many things. We often bounce idea's back and forth with these ladies and ask for their advise. This is now a COMMUNITY site but please do not ever think this is a site BUILT FOR GUYS FOR GUYS as that is not true and I am very upset that one of the ladies would make this statement. I just wanted to set the record straight so that everyone knows exactly what this site was intended for and is all about.
-
What would this section be used for? How do we make sure it is not abused? How do we verify each member for access? How do we make sure that the people who have access to it don't stop posting on the public area as well? (Public posts from credible members is what builds the site) I can't see a private mens area working to be honest. I think it would be used to just slander the ladies and even if it was respected and not abused the ladies would assume it was being used for slander and smack talk. I can't see a community site working with this type of area. The ladies need this area to help protect each other from bad people and it does help them out (every little bit helps). Sites exist like spoc.ca that post a lot of the bad people in public, this is a great service but it also puts a little more risk on the ladies as the guy who is posted could put 2 and 2 together and know who reported him... and that in the past has lead to violence and threats (and things spiraling out of control) - not everyone in this world is of sound mind! We think it's much safer for the ladies to have a more private area for this type of thing but we can't justify a members only area for guys. Maybe some feedback would change our minds on this but we would need to know from the men who would like this what they would expect from it and how they would use it. Cowboys Diary in Ottawa for example is a valuable service for everyone in the Ottawa area and we support him and his efforts. (http://cowboysdiary.info). Maybe someone out here in the east coast area would be willing to start a similar blog. If you are not slandering anyone, posting hate messages and you show integrity we would support you here like we do with CK and his blog in Ottawa. .. a bit of custom programming? Whew.. I would say a great deal of it and how do you un-complicate this? We did talk about doing something similar a while back. The idea was to put a new area on the ladies profiles that said "Click here if you have had a good date with this provider" and each time someone new clicked on it this would add a point to her popularity level... but the idea was shot down as when we looked further into it ... it was full of holes where it could be abused and be seen as unfair. Instead we went with the reputation system where everyone could add/remove reputation points and this would build the community as a whole (both ways)

New research paper on the history of prostitution laws in Canada
mod replied to RobX's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
Wrinkledintime posted this yesterday - it's a good read! http://cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=13627&page=5 -
Hi Floyd. If you have been bait and switched (Fake Photos) or put into a dangerous position, robbed or scammed like the recent credit card scams on CL we do have places to post that. Atlantic Warnings: To Report Bait and Switch, Scams & Dangerous Encounters (NOT FOR NEGATIVE REV Report Fake Photos, Scams or Dangerous situations here - DO NOT SLANDER OR POST NEGATIVE REVIEWS AS THAT IS NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THIS SITE PLEASE If you just want to complain about a lady or slander her cause you did not enjoy your time with her... that is not permitted on cerb. The rule here is "if you don't have anything nice to say ... say nothing at all" - This makes a more enjoyable site where the ladies are not getting wrongfully slandered. This makes for a better community site where the ladies feel safe and come and contribute on the site and join in our community without feeling threatened by someone trying to slander them. The sites that exist that allow negative comments are abused BADLY - the ladies are often afraid to post on these sites and join conversations as they just get ponced on an beaten down. People don't always "click" with each other ... some people are just impossible to please... some people show up drunk... some show up smelling bad, bad hygiene or have bad breath and get mad cause the lady will not kiss them or give them a Bj. These same people turn around and complain about the ladies (giving you all false info and making the lady loose money)... if she tries to defend herself on these sites that allow this she is usually met with a swarm of assholes all trying to get in on the mob. It becomes very hostile. How do you know what you are reading is true? You don't! Even with the recommendation you need to be careful! Cerb works the other way... based on recommendations. These can be faked but it's not easy to fake a good recommendation and it's very hard to fake one from a credible source. When someone with 100+ posts and a well know reputation on cerb posts a recommendation for a lady ... it's a pretty good indication that it's legit. Also it is a lot harder for your competition to slander you when it's not allowed in the first place.... and that drunk smelly guy who was pissed off cause she refused to service him... well he can't log into cerb and try to slander her for it as she was in the right but has no protection on other boards from a guy like that. The ladies work hard to build up reputations (they should earn the reputation over time) and it is very one sided if you let the guys (or the ladies competition pretending to be guys) slander her. Some people just like to "stir the pot" and cause problems... it's not something they can do here on cerb so they loose interest in the site (Better for all of us). The ladies private section It is here to help protect them from dangerous people / situations and time wasters. Some people get abusive, show up drunk and angered, make appointments and never show up, rip the ladies off, steal from the ladies and much worse! The private area is not to say "I didn't enjoy my time with so and so..." that never happens... it is strictly to post warnings to other ladies for safety reasons (and time wasters). Just so you know a time waster is a person who books the lady and doesn't show up or at least call to cancel the appointment. (Does not respect the ladies time). This is a big problem for the ladies so we allow that to be reported in the ladies area. I know this happens with the guys as well at times but it falls under that category where if we allowed it than it would be abused so we let the ladies report this as they are all VERIFIED before gaining access to the SP ONLY area and I am afraid we do not allow the guys to do this on the public side of the site. I would offer to have a private MENS ONLY area for this type of thing but I do not have the time to verify memberships so at this time we can not offer such a service to the men. The best thing you can do is (1) not recommend someone that does not deserve it and (2) if someone posts asking about a lady and you have some info you wish to share... just PM them and explain to them why you do not recommend that lady.

The John Lowman report was full of good information and I knew a website must exist that announces judgments (thanks for the links - I bookmarked them all)
