Does anyone know if the courts publicly announce when a decision will be made? Maybe a website that would have that info for the public? There must be something made public since the reporters and lawyers all know when stuff like that takes place. I assume this is now in discovery (to review the details and evidence submitted to the judge) so I suspect that she could continue the trial further? no? (or) make a decision based on what she has as evidence? (I wish I studied law at times) Does the judge have a time line / schedule that she must adhere to for a formal decision? Maybe someone on the site here has some legal knowledge and would share with us.

Oh Boy! That is not true... The top level politicians may ignore but your city officials will be able to create BY-LAWS and that actually makes it easier for police and cities to control. Right now they can not legally set up by-laws for prostitution as that would constitute living off the avails (charging a fee for a license to be a prostitute) if this court case has any effect on these laws (either way - new laws making living off the avails or complete decriminalization) the cities will quickly make by-laws (This will include zoning laws, license fee's, etc.. etc..). If you think decriminalization means the cities can not make by-laws you are VERY wrong. That is NOT the case! If it all becomes completely legal it is just like any other business at that point and falls to the same city by-laws as all the others. Some cities will make it so impossible to meet the by-law requirements that nothing will be legal (Like many cities do now with gentleman's clubs). The girls working will need police checks done and everyone and every business involved will need to pay licenses so the cities can hire more by-law enforcement to police the by-laws. If no "sex acts" are going on they are a legal body rub parlors (licensed) but remember right now a "common bawdy" house law makes them illegal if they offer "extra's" and the HJ and nude massage is really in the gray area (really any sexual touch - it does not have to be sex can make a place a common bawdy house - intercourse does not have to happen - this is why the no-sex dungeons still get busted as they are still in-house and appealing to the sexual desires of the client). Having a body rub license only makes it "legal" with you city by-law (not the actual criminal code laws) technically they are very much illegal but it is very hard to charge people involved in these operations under these laws. Again.. making it legal will allow the cities and towns to make new BY-LAWS and this actually means MORE Local laws to control it. (Zoning/fee's/police checks/etc..)

I just want to mention a few things here. mike-1111 is a new member (This is his first post but he has been a member here since Sept.30th 2009). I need to mention this as a current thread about this lady is in our Bait and switch section as she has used fake photos (and real ones) on her ads on CL and is featured on CK (Cowboys) blog for this. What we need is some of the more CREDIBLE members to post here to let everyone know if she truly deserves this recommendation. mike-1111 I am not saying this post is not legit (I hope it is) but this being your first post and being about someone who has been caught bait and switching with fake photos in the past does not look good for you. also, mike-1111 is using a internet connection at a local hotel (that many of the ladies use) we checked the IP address just to see. This is usually a good indication of a SHILL post but again not 100% so we must give him the benefit of the doubt and hope some of our more credible members can back him up!

This is what a number of people fear may happen is the this law is replaced with a "NEW" law that could just make prostitution completely illegal or worse... more messed up than it already is (make it that much more unsafe).... also who knows what greedy hands will get involved, cities and towns are dying to legalize prostitution with by-laws and insane license fee's... many already to to exploit the business already by enforcing by-laws on anyone using the word "escort" (because they currently can not license prostitution) Right now the laws are suppose to combat street prostitution and target pimps... we all know how well they are doing to enforce those laws! What on earth would make them think new laws would help this? You know this comment is only saying "mess with the laws and we will make it illegal all together". This comment "give parliament 18 months to come up with new laws" is not exactly what any of us want to hear being suggested. This could very well make things MUCH worse for everyone!! (in fact.. I would bet on that). A few of the ladies have expressed concern over the years about protesting the laws like this (and I have to admin as many of you know, I agree with them as I fear it could go either way and make things much better or MUCH MUCH WORSE). At first I was all for it but than after speaking with some of the ladies (especially the older ladies who have been in the business for many many years) messing with something like a law can go either way! The common term is "don't mess with a good thing" now the laws are not really a "good thing" but many of the ladies work with and around them comfortably... it is possible this could make a workable situation much more uncomfortable... A number of the ladies are concerned that this court hearing could do more harm than good and they do have good reason to be concerned. Thankfully the Judge seams to be leaning in favor of the sex workers at this time. It could still back fire and push things even more underground. Everyone protesting the laws are doing it for the right reasons (it could be much more safe) So far I think the outcome is looking bright and we can't really stop it from happening now but we all have to cross our fingers and hope for the best. Hopefully the Judge and all decision makers involved realize that no law will ever stop prostitution and no law would make any workplace 100% safe. If the laws could make the profession safer I think we would all want to support that, I just hope that "parliament" doesn't interfere with that and make things even worse! It's a needed service and they may as well work with the ladies and make it as safe as possible! Collect taxes on it from everyone involved and learn to co-exist as no law is ever going to stop it (we all know that) so they might as well work with everyone to make it safe.

A number of Ottawa and Montreal "agencies" (and I use that term lightly here) teach the ladies that fake photos bring business... tech them wrong. Many send us "Stock" photo and claim they have the right to use it because they paid the royalties... we still do not let them advertise. It is possible these ladies are now seeing the light?? It does happen. If someone can confirm they are still using fake photos on CL you can click the REPORT Problem button on the EC ad and let them know.... if they are using fake photos on CL escorts-canada will ask them to verify the photos on the EC ad to be 100% sure they are real. A VERIFIED PHOTO icon would than show on the EC ad and they would be informed that the CL ad with the fake photos was wrong and damaging to their business.

City councils (as far as I know) are not allowed to structure any municipal by-laws based on moral reasons. They must have legitimate reasons and 'moral objection' is not a legitimate reason. Moral objections of prostitution are brought on by religion. I want to say something witty here like "we don't burn witches anymore" but I think I would take some criticism for that so just ignore I said that.

The BAD DATE are here has this feature as well. We had it installed a few months back. Just makes security that much better.

You are a little "off base" but I can explain why. We have a BAD DATE info area for a number of cities in the SP ONLY area in private (it's private to be more effective and to be more safe for the ladies reporting this info). It is available to ANY sp (FOR FREE) who can be verified or vouched for by someone who already has acces (PM ME FOR INFO). If the ladies were to post some of this info in public it could make for a potentially dangerous situation as the guy would know who posted his info (and) it would show the guys who are black listed what info you had on them so they could circumvent the bad date list (Making the list much less effective). The bait and switch and dangerous encounters area on the site (in public view) is for the guys to report the following... FAKE PHOTOS, SCAMS (Like credit card scams found on CL) and also to report dangerous encounters (steeling the guys money with threats and such). This area is NOT for bad reviews (We do not allow negative reviews here) .. and it's public because we want people to know that no one will tolerate fake photos (bait and switch), CC scams and being robbed. This area is more to combat scammers who give all the SP's bad names as crap like this adds to the stereotypes you all face. If a new guy to the business books his first SP who scams him with a fake photo, cc scam or robs him chances are he may never book another sp or if he does he will be jaded about it (making life harder for all of you honest ladies) this area is as much for you all as it is for the guys! If ANY LADIES wish to have access to the SP ONLY area ... Again, it is FREE! It is hidden from public view for everyone's protection. We will need to verify you as a SP and we have a few ways we can do this. The easiest way is with an ad on escorts-canada for at least 14 days without complaint (We own E.C so we have full access to all that info and it's a easy way to make sure you are legit for us) but you can also verify yourself with contributions here on cerb, someone with access already can VOUCH for you and we have other ways as well (PM me for info). The SP ONLY area should be available to ALL SP's but we must make sure for the ladies protection that we screen everyone as best as possible.

You do not need a banner on E.C. to gain access. If you have a profile ad on E.C. for more then 14 days without any complaints we pretty much know your legit (so a E.C. Ad would help but a banner would not help in any way). Someone with access to the SP ONLY area can VOUCH for you as well (if they have met you personally) also... contributions on this site over time will gain you access as well (like a recommendation from a couple of our high ranking members for instance would help confirm and validate your account) The ottawa warning section in public view is for the guys only (post publicly about the fake photos, scammers and dangerous stuff like the robbery stuff that has been going on). If a lady without access to the SP ONLY area wishes to warn others they can PM me and I will post it for them in the SP ONLY area while we work on getting them verified for access.

Are either lady using fake photos on cerb? Be 100% sure before you reply please. We don't want to accuse anyone of something they have not done here.

If a CERB member books with you and NO-SHOWS the persons username will often be reported in the SP ONLY area (and the member will be banned from cerb if a few of the ladies report this same thing). I like to think that our members (at least the long term / senior members) would never do this without a really valid reason. It's the newbies who may not know, so this may be a good thread for the newbie section?

I made your announcement a STICKY thread to make sure everyone becomes aware of the site. You run the blog with integrity and ethics so I see no reason to not support it, the Ottawa members are lucky to have someone like you helping out in this way.

Maybe someone should point the Judge over to cerb to see how amazing the community really is!! See that we are all regular people (not drug addicted hookers and sexual deviant predators as the religious groups and anti-prostitution activists want everyone to beleive). This comment from the judge "Doesn't all this support Prof. Young's position of the additional danger on the street?" is wonderful to see. It shows that the judge is not falling for the anti-prostitution propaganda that the attorney is trying to feed her. For someone to actually beleive that escorting and street level prostitution carry the same risks is insane and we all know it ... anyone with any common sense knows otherwise so this statement just makes the attorney look like they are crusaders (with no actually evidence to support these statements) just like the moral crusaders who make these statements without any evidence to back them up. Of course the attorney knows it is safer... but their job is to convince the court that it is not.

It has been brought to my attention that ALL THREE of these RECOMMENDATIONS are from brand new users who just made a new accounts and posted to this recommendation. The writing styles also seam to be very similar. I am not saying this is a SHILL post (at least not yet as the IP addresses on the posts are different) but I would encourage others to comment if they agree or disagree and for people to remember that new members are not always credible for recombination so always do your homework.

It is nice to see this portrayed in a positive way with the media. Alan Young is very well spoken (it shows in this video). It will be very interesting to see how this progresses.

Any "SERVICE" based business should have that mentality! Everything else is TANGIBLE. When you "bargain" someone for a service you are negotiating the quality of that service. (Could be time spent on the service, could be "extra's, could be effort, etc...) but you can be sure your not going to get the same effort as you would if you did not devalue the service and pay the asking price. With the ladies you are asking them to lower their self worth! It's not nice and in many cases if she agrees to it she is NOT going to be too happy about it as you are taking advantage of her now - so your not really going to get a full effort! Basically if you don't like the price she puts on her services you find someone else in your budget. If you try to bargain with the ladies your just being an ass.
